I got my BFP yesterday, AF not due til Sunday Tested again this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it.

Have been very sick already which is what prompted me to test, also very very tired.

Looking forward to seeing other people on this exciting journey

Welcome, Schmoo

Me too! My boobs are rock hard and my nipples feel like someone is chewing on them. :O

But like you (and a couple of others here), I also had a m/c, so I'm begrudgingly happy with any pg like symptons! Also more tired than usual..

Good luck with your scan, let us know how you get on - I expect we'll be having a scan around the same time.

Love to everyone else today. xx

bouncingblueberries · 27/11/2009 08:53

Welcome to the mad house schmoo and jaimiejay! Chulita I'm experiencing the same as you. Ravenously hungry to the point where I'm convinced I will either pass out or vomit if I don't eat something soon, but then after a couple of mouth-fulls, I'm full. Very weird. I love my food, my curves prove that! On the boob front, there been a definite change. They feel sort of...fuller or maybe heavier is a better description. Not that I've weighed them or anything crazy! (Not yet )

As for Kaylo's heartburn, get glugging on the gaviscon honey! I had horrific heartburn with ds, so I feel your pain sister.

Rather a non-eventful visit to the GP last night. Decided not to tell any fibs to swing an early scan - be careful what you wish for and all that.

So have a lovely day girlies. I've treated myself to a starbucks brekkie this morning - gingerbread latte. yum!

BigMomma3 · 27/11/2009 09:32

Morning, am off to the docs shortly to ask for an early scan - wish me luck!

Any thoughts on whether the doctor will think I am being unreasonable to ask considering that I had a previous stillbirth at 31 weeks, have previously had twins, and suffer from stress and anxiety generally anyway. I need a scan to know that the embryo is in the right place (have been getting quite strong cramping period like pains, but I think that's normal)and whether I am having more twins because I just NEED to know!! I will probably be pleased but it will have a big impact on us and I could do without the stress of worrying about it, especially as my BFP showed up very early!!
Do you think he will laugh me out of the surgery and tell me not to waste NHS resources!

I am prepared to pay 75.00 for a private one but woud rather not with Christmas coming up. Any thoughts before 10.30 appreciated!

KayloHalo · 27/11/2009 09:40

Welcome Schmoo hope you're well honey, just a few weeks til the scan hun, first big step along the road to a healthy pregnancy.

I woke up this morning and I was absolutely starving!! So I had some chocolate minibix and....well....morning sickness prevailed and needless to say it didn't stay down.
Hope it doesn't stay with me for the whole pregnancy.

I bought some heartburn tablets to see if they help but I think they kind of react to the metallic taste in my mouth and it's aaaawful!! So I'm draining the office of ilk now

Gonna go indulge my obsession with prams now on the Mothercare website Not buying one of course, just looking. I have a M&P Pliko Pramette already from when I m/c'd - my mum bought it for us bless her.

Have a super non-sicky day ladies xxxx

KayloHalo · 27/11/2009 09:56

why did I cross out my word ooops. Rubbish at special word effect thingies.

BigMomma I think you should ask. For all the reasons you've mentioned, I don't even think I' gonna tell my GP I want an early scan - I'm going straight to EPAU, they were so helpful with my m/c - they said if I ever had any problems/concerns to call them so I will.

xx

Aussieng · 27/11/2009 10:22

welcome JamieJay and Shmoo.

Good luck BigMomma. No words of advice - I am crap at the doctors. As a relatively strong willed professional woman I turn into a gibbering wreck with an inferiority complex and am terrified that they will think I am some loser swinging the lead and trying to get a sick note or some kind of NHS freebie [pathetic]

Missus84 · 27/11/2009 15:13

Hi everyone, I'm joining you too! Had a BFP today and reckon I'm due on the 2nd August. First baby for me

I had a mc at 5 weeks in September, would have been due 22nd May, so am feeling very nervous at the moment! I think once I get a few more weeks in I'll feel more secure.

Hey girls!

How exciting that I found this thread! I too have found out I am pregnant.

Got back from a girls holiday in the sun (where I was slapping on the DEET/ drinking/ smoking etc - ARGH!!) came back feeling not quite right plus really bad acid indigestion.... took a test on Sunday and the answer was PREGNANT 1-2 weeks!
This is my first pregnancy and am REALLY worried about miscarrying. Haven't told anyone (apart from Hubby & Dr).

Another one who loves lists:

Chulita · 27/11/2009 15:57

Welcome newbies! Our list is growing, yay

I'm more worried about miscarrying this time than I was last time. Might be because I know a bit more about the rates of mc or might be the complete lack of symptoms I have this time. I am absolutely shattered but with a 12mth old crawling everywhere and early wakings, I'm still not sure if it's due to DD or pg. Anyone else for matchsticks?

Stupid, I know cos I'm 2 weeks overdue for AF, but I keep wanting to re-test.

Aussieng · 27/11/2009 16:14

Chulita when I went to the docs yesterday she asked me for a urine sample so that they could test. I was a bit because I didn't think they did that anymore. So I started wondering if she thought I was too dumb to do my own pregnancy test, and then worried that maybe I was in fact too dumb and would be seriously embarrassed if she had to phone me up and tell me that I'm not pregnant. So I bbought another 2 tests just to check.....

Guess what? Apparently I'm pregnant

Aussieng · 27/11/2009 16:14

Oh welcome newbies and fellow list lovers

Chulita · 27/11/2009 16:17

Lol! During last pg I got a funnel with my first piss pot - in the Bounty bag I think...thing is I binned it and if I don't get another, that MW is going to get some rather wet samples

popAwheelie · 27/11/2009 16:47

hello! can I join your club?

I'm due 9 August.
4 weeks pregnant now.
it's my first. THough I had a miscarriage in August this year.

no morning sickness so far.

Im 32 and met my love online too

baby will be a leo! Lots of hair and a healthy ego!

very excited. Still havent told anyone. thinking about telling our parents this weekend (who all live overseas) but nervous...is it too soon even for parents?

also a little nervous about being tied down. I know I will be FINE once baby arrives BUT would like to have one last travel experience, so am planning a wee jaunt to South America in Feb / April to get it out of my system!

would love to chat more with everyone who is having this same amazing experience!

Carikube · 27/11/2009 17:00

Just popping in from the May thread as I wanted to say a big congratulations to Kaylo. I was sorry to see you leave the May thread and I'm very happy to hear your good news - hope it all goes well.

Nikalah · 27/11/2009 17:03

Hey popAwheelie I too am worried about being tied down and have just got off the phone arranging a trip through Morocco next Spring! Went to parts of South America end of last beginning of this year and LOVED it - go for it!

Does being a Leo mean lots of hair? That's good as my hubby has none!

Oh & I'm just shy of 35! eek

bouncingblueberries · 27/11/2009 17:28

Yah! More serial testers! I know someone else would crack and buy more pg tests like me

welcome everyone!

BigMomma3 · 27/11/2009 18:14

Well, went to docs at 10.50 this morning and he sent me straight to the EPU at the hospital 10 mins away (good man), downside is that I have only just got back arrrgggh (save for a 30 min dash to pick up the DCs from school and then had to go back)and get this my 5 and half week pregnancy is nicely implanted in my uterus but I may or may not have an ectopic pregnancy in my left ovary or it could be a twin developing there ir it could just be a cyst (this ovary is quite chunky apparently).

Am totally confused but was too tired to ask too many questions and will have to go back for another scan next week! Oh well, at least I got my early scan .

KayloHalo · 27/11/2009 18:33

Evening Superladies

WELCOMES to Nikalah and popAwheelie Here's to a happy healthy baby-growing journey

Missus84 I feel your concern - I too m/c in September - my due date would have been 20th May so we would have been very close together Lets hope we still are.

Carikube THANK YOU!!!! I do intend to pop onto the May thread as soon as I've had my early scan - I don't have to bring bad news to your lovely thread twice!!

BigMomma Sounds like you've had quite a day - I know it seems a bit in the air at the moment but you should hopefully get some more conclusive answers next week. And you ight see a heartbeat

ALL YOU LADIES STILL PEEING ON STICKS you are pregnant!!!

Have the house all to myself tonight, stocked the cupboard with ginger biscuits as they've been a big help with the sickness but hey give me heartburn so have bought some extra milk too

HAVE A LOVELY FRIDAY NIGHT GIRLS

XXXXX

Missus84 · 27/11/2009 19:17

Thanks Kaylo When are you having your scan?

I don't want to tell people yet, but am slightly worried about the Christmas period! I'm usually a big drinker and enjoy a good party, and I know friends are planning several drink and drug fuelled events. How am I going to avoid all this without anyone suspecting anything?

KayloHalo · 27/11/2009 19:28

erm.....drug fuelled events?

I'm calling EPU for my scan when I'm 7 or 8 weeks. I wanted to go sooner originally but I the further along I am the more likely I am to get a clear answer.

xxx

Missus84 · 27/11/2009 19:50

Obviously I'm not partaking But I think if I spend the whole festive season sipping orange juice then friends and family might wonder why. I guess I can say I'm on anti-biotics

bouncingblueberries · 27/11/2009 20:17

Evening all!

Kaylo you are the voice of reason. I have just one more stick to pee on then I promise I'm finished

Thank goodness it's Friday. I'm exhausted.

Hopefully we've a nice, chilled family weekend ahead. Planning a little film "night" for ds. He's desperate to go the cinema but we're too tight to pay London cinema prices for a 3 year old that might hate the whole experience...or just fall asleep! So we're going to make cinema tickets tomorrow to sell, make buckets and buckets of popcorn, close the blinds and watch Ice Age (or maybe Madagascar - choices, choices).

Anyhoo, have a lovely weekend girls.

bouncingblueberries · 27/11/2009 20:21

bigMomma fingers crossed your ovary is just feeling a bit on the chunky side (don't we all some days!) and it's nothing serious. Keep us posted. Will be thinking of you.

Have some biscuits in the meantime to keep you going

Missus84 · 27/11/2009 22:17

Is anyone else taking a specific pregnancy multivitamin? I've been taking folic acid but not sure if it's worth shelling out for pregnacare or something.

vinocollapso · 28/11/2009 05:52

Hullo everyone, and welcome to the new people.

Missus84 - I'm not, no, just folic acid. I think so long as your diet is healthy you'll be fine. As for what to tell people, I find the 'I'm driving' card very handy.

bigmomma - just to say what others have said, really - fingers crossed all is ok and don't worry too much. Let us know how you det on.

Kaylo hope your heartburn is easing off a wee bit. And I'm not peeing on sticks at all, so a gold star for me, huh?

Bouncingb - love your cinema idea, we're also having lots of cheap nights, especially as we've just bought a house (more stress, anyone?) and are in the middle of moving.

Nickalah - my first too, and I've just turned 37!

Have a great Saturday girls. xx
