I won't let go until you tell me to

givecarrotsachance · 23/11/2009 16:17

Frig, had finally decided against early scan but now feel all left out .

Shall I - shan't I - someone make a decision!!

iggypiggy · 23/11/2009 16:19

I don't wanna take time off work y'see... still not told boss and would prefer to wait until I know if is going to carry on or not.

ok - that is good I like idea of strength in numbers. Plus you can use the other hand to bash me around the head or summink

CurlyCasper · 23/11/2009 16:24

ok (shall I get me an Acme anvil?)

Even if didn't tell boss I was going to take the time for the scan. Just told VJ I'd be late in. Always at the bloody doctors anyway, me

CurlyCasper · 23/11/2009 16:24

rots don't let peer pressure get in the way...

iggypiggy · 23/11/2009 16:28

rots don't feel you have to!

I have v. specific reason for wanting early scan. If I hadn't had one last time I would have just started to bleed without knowing i was going to and i fell off the horse the day before the bleeding started and I would have blamed self entirely.

cassie yes - big comedy one that makes littles stars appear around me head

oh yeafh - Doctor has banned me from riding and from boxfit cos of babyfail history too - just as well i had already made the decision innit..

skihorse · 24/11/2009 07:34

iggy Blimey that would've been awful. piggy would've ended up in tins in Tesco!

How are all the PESHes feeling this morning?

I have discovered a local shop which sells jars of crystallised ginger. nom nom. I'm off to the midwife in less than 2 hours and am bricking it.

CurlyCasper · 24/11/2009 08:31

good luck ski. I want lots of details when you get back!

Got "what to expect when you're expecting" last night. seems less patronising that the Miriam Stoppard book I already have.

Just had lovely chat with someone at work - she's been sooooooo nice! it's made me feel all warm inside today. Still not able to concentrate though...

skihorse · 24/11/2009 08:35

I've got "what to expect"!, I picked it up at Denver airport when I thought I was pregnant. Babyfail by Minneapolis airport though - tsk! Anyway, Billy likes that book and the website also has a section for men... however that's the place I was telling you about with the "High School Seniors TTC" banners! My only minor complaint with the book would be that they emphasise that you should get a lot of tests done, which perhaps is just very American, but I like the fact it kind of says "so you're taking cocaine, just tell your midwife" rather than pretending it doesn't happen! They also have advice for women without medical insurance which I thought was nice.

CurlyCasper · 24/11/2009 08:38

yeah, did love the bit about fessing up over the rec drugs you take! Do you think virtual gin counts?

iggypiggy · 24/11/2009 09:08

Ah ski take a violent nipple twist and also maybe a sly hug for today. Good luck!

givecarrotsachance · 24/11/2009 09:29

iggy jeeeez-uz yes thank goodness you knew what was going on. How horrific if you'd not - and clearly it was horrific anyway.

ski V much looking forward to hearing all about it!

YOB and I discussed an early scan again last night as I keep going backwards and forwards over it and can't make up my mind. January seems so far away. [sigh emoticon]

To be honest I was a bit stupid about riding last time cos i obviously was riding when I knew i was going through an mc - and it takes everything out of you - so horse spooked on a ride and I just wobbled off - then I rode the morning of the mc (just made it home through the door in time!) and rode they day after - obv still with much bleeding - fink I was bit mental!

Anyway - i talk about it all far too much on here - this is cos I never talk about it in real life! Duh...

I is feeling ok at the mo about everything - a bit que sera about it all..

Still not planning anything or talking about anything involving the future tho

skihorse · 24/11/2009 10:36

Total fucking scanfail, midwife said I was too early and they weren't sure there'd be a hb so didn't want to upset me. Official scan date is now 23rd December which isn't so bad, it'll mean I can tell people a xmas with confidence. She told me that because I'm 35 my chance of Downs was very low, rates go up at 36, this made me somewhat giggly/sceptical given that I turn 36 in January - phew! healthy by 6 weeks! I also have to get the nuchal scan done at the hospital rather than their practice and it's optional... I think I'm going to do it so at least we can research downs if we need to.

I cried during the "intake" because I said baby too big for foofoo/tumtum type stuff - jailbait AND midwife sniggered at me. I burst in to tears before we went in too because there were loads of photos of real babies and birth announcement cards. I have a baybee in my tumtum fo real.

iggy I think the riding when you knew it was happening was a very normal/predictable psychological response - your education should tell you that! What I mean is, from my interpretation you were "punishing" your body by riding perhaps a little more recklessly than normal...

iggypiggy · 24/11/2009 11:01

ski I fink dat sounds sensible... would have been bad not to hear soemthing and to worry unnesscessarily.

Loving the magic number thing tho... In just one day - ONE DAY - your rates will rocket - ROCKET I tell you...

skihorse · 24/11/2009 11:14

iggy I know, what if I'd got my BFP in January rather than November?

iggypiggy · 24/11/2009 11:32

THINK of the RISK!!!!!

oh yeah - i fink you prob right about riding - but also was desperately trying to carry on as normal!

CurlyCasper · 24/11/2009 11:37

Ridonculous that risk is higher in just a few weeks ski (and oooh another January birthday.- with any luck my present will be hitting 12 weeks when it's mine!)

iggy que sera sounds like a good attitude. Glad you are more relaxed. But I still have the anvil on order

Nice lady at work thinks I have v good chance of getting flexible working, including some at-home hours...but that's a long way off and just one opinion, so we'll see!

skihorse · 24/11/2009 11:59

iggy I'm very glad to hear you're feeling more upbeat about it all - does this mean you're starting to feel sick?

How are you two feeling today anyway? I did pretty well, asleep at 9 and slept all the way through til gone 5 this mornin which was really good for me. Quite queasy this morning but have been munching on Ginger - don't know if it really works but it feels nice to be doing something.

Where is cunty these days?

iggypiggy · 24/11/2009 12:03

Not sick - not anyfing rilly - except have cold and sore and comedically proportioned tits.

Yes where is cunty ???

I was up till well past midnight - not by choice tho... pub quiz action - nearly asleep at table

givecarrotsachance · 24/11/2009 12:19

iggy sore and huge tits is a fabulous sign and much nicer than sickness. Take it from me. .

Oh my goodness - I turned 36 about 3 weeks before I ovd with this one! That's it - I may as well give up now! Oh well.

ski not sure whether Ginger will appreciate being munched on . Don't you get hairs in your mouth?

ski I understand that baybee is currently about the size of a lentil so will fit not probs right now. In the end it still fits, till it doesn't, then it comes out. Any more basic biology you wanna know?

TBH I loved the feeling of actually FEELING LC inside me. Ex hated it . He said, "I'm not going anywhere near you with that THING inside you". You can lay in the bath and see the spine as it moves around, or a foot or hand kicking through your belly. Well cool in a totally freaky aliens-type way. Seriously tho, it was really lovely and I really missed having him inside me, when he came out. It's just lovely. I can't wait to feel this one kicking!

Are people you're telling saying, "well done" a lot? Seems like a standard response . Odd. "Well done - you learnt where to stick it!".

CurlyCasper · 24/11/2009 12:32

not sick - and managed to stay up past bedtime two nights in a row. Skin itchy as fuck again though. i stink of TCP and Lanacane. Oh, and I'm back to constipation now

Eating like rampant swine too! Went to supermarket last night and wanted to buy so much stuff and eat it right away. I had a bit of this and a bit of that when I got home, and was still hungry when I went to bed. nom nom nom nom NOM (Have scoffed most of my lunch. Just some grapes left I can hear the cafeteria calling...)

I've just discovered KidStart (where shopping at loads of online places = cash for your baby). Signed up, but couldn't bring myself to actually "create a child" for us and family to save for. Just typing Baby Casper in a box would have felt like a jinx. bloody good scheme though!

CurlyCasper · 24/11/2009 14:13

HELP! Been to loo I have watery/very pink dicharge. do I do anything? complete unknown...

givecarrotsachance · 24/11/2009 14:22

casper try phoning the midwife at your surgery? I really think it's common but you need to talk to someone who really knows.

[worried]
