I haz ONE baybee. It was dancing & shiz and waving its arms (two) and kicking its legs (two). Good, strong, healthy heartbeat and midwife said everything was great. We got 3 photos but they're not great - the waving hand is clearer than anything else. I feel somewhat validated in that the dating came out closer to my estimate than hers - she used my last droid date obv. So official due date is now 22nd July. She said it's "very happy in there" and I don't need to worry.

I did however tick the box which said "don't tell us if you see an abnormality with the NF" - we're sticking to ignorance.

Blood test results back - nothing wrong, no anaemia, no HIV, no hep, no nuffink.

More free baby shiz incl. rubber duck, baby lotion, shampoo, etc., etc.

Jailbait is very happy he didn't give me HIV. And mildly pleased about baybee.

CurlyCasper · 23/12/2009 14:15

Excellent news ski - sounds so exciting! And aren't you doing well for free stuff . 22nd was my intial EDD, changed to 20th after scan. well, if we go full term, looks like you, Iggs and I will be popping them out in close succession!

LOL re jailbait and HIV! Get a photo up!

skihorse · 23/12/2009 14:21

Oooh in other place? Good idea!

CurlyCasper · 23/12/2009 14:27

Yippee! Another blob out there for all to see Congrats again on the happy, healthy news.

Ponymum · 23/12/2009 16:29

ski Good news on waving baby and non-HIV status. I have palpatations which are worse during pregnancy. I suspect it is blood pressure related. I have also have dizzy fainting spells and they told me that is definitely pregnancy blood pressure related. Being pregnant messes everything up!

I have a photo of me in (I'm struggling for the right word here) lingerie when 9 months prgnant. It is extremely scary. I count my blessings these days as I'm afraid I know what's coming. e.g. Hurrah, I can still see my pubes without aid of a mirror, etc. Oh, the fun we have ahead of us...

skihorse · 23/12/2009 16:32

ponymum hahahaha pregnant lady in sexy lingerie in a wheelchair? Did you sell those photos to a german fetish mag?

cunty has texted, she is fine but very surprised that the baby moved - she thought they just sort of "lay there" - apparently she too has a wriggler with the full complement of arms/legs/head etc. and everything is fine. The dating also puts her earlier than she first thought. So, hahaha cunty, your vagina's going to be ruined sooner rather than later!

Ponymum · 23/12/2009 16:34

Oh by the way, our scan also confirmed the precise due date that I told them according to my ov date. Of course they didn't pay any attention to my info and said it was actually 5 days earlier by LMP... until the scan made them revise it to exactly what I'd told them in the first place. It's 14 June, btw!

Ponymum · 23/12/2009 16:36

Yes ski, you wouldn't believe the market for those sort of photos!

givecarrotsachance · 23/12/2009 18:24

Hurray! I'm so pleased for you ski

My EDD is currently the 23rd - sweepstake anyone?

OP posts:
skihorse · 23/12/2009 18:26

rots it's brilliant - it means when everyone else is bored shitless of our diffed moaning we know we've got 3 others who are sat at home with laptops balanced on their bellies, feeling miserable and whining!

Ponymum Well it's your own fault I suppose for having an idea of what's going on in your own body! How are you feeling anyway? Are things improving at all for you?

cunty what's your EDD? Or are you not thinking that far ahead?

CUNextTuesday · 23/12/2009 18:44

28th June now, revised from 3rd July. Feel on top form, Hom not come down from ceiling yet. He has succumbed to Facecrack crowing ref potency

Ponymum · 23/12/2009 19:07

I have felt like being sick ALL DAY.

I just ate pate.

CUNextTuesday · 23/12/2009 19:21

Go girl Kick those food fascists in the knackers

skihorse · 24/12/2009 02:05

I forget, what with being pregnant and all, why aren't we allowed to eat pate? Is it because it's deliciously yummy on crackers - the crackers which aren't slathered with salty butter and blue cheese I mean?

Julian doesn't mind me eating blue cheese and very red deli meat, but he really objected to cheese toasties last night.

cunty Yep, jailbait sent a photo to his "frenemy" in a boastful "check out my sperm" way!

Cosmosis · 24/12/2009 11:14

Pate is partly cos it?s liver and partly cos of food poisoning risk I believe.

Any way, am off home now and then to brave the arctic conditions to get over to the Lakes. Have a BESHtastic Christmas everyone.

CUNextTuesday · 24/12/2009 19:44

Merry Xmas preggos. May it be filled with pate, blue cheese, champagne and other 'forbidden' things.

skihorse · 25/12/2009 05:07

I had a clear 60 second window last night where my brain functioned - anywayz, it was about pate. Now, say you buy said pate from Waitrose/Fortnums (snigger) - supermarkets just generally don't give you food-poisoning... second of all, given that the major ingredient in pate is FAT, followed by "reconstituted meat", how many kilos of pate would you have to eat to Vitamin A your baybee to death?

I'm sure a spread on a Jacob's cracker is OK.

I hope everyone is doing OK today and will be up to the eating required of you all.

On a more serious note, I got an email from my estranged sister last night. I've not spoken to her in over 2 years since she sent me 7 approximately 500 word emails full of vitriol. I didn't read past the first one, because the message was quite clear: "I want to hurt you" - so the content was less important iyswim. She's told me I should "drop it for the sake of the next generation". AIBU to have said "I didn't read your emails because you wanted to hurt me, I don't need somebody like you in my child's life, please don't contact me again"?

givecarrotsachance · 25/12/2009 12:06

ski if you want her, get back to her. If not, pretend she's not your sister. Your choice, your child, your life.

Pate = food poisoning (pretty bloody unlikely) and vitamin a (but no, I'm sure that a whole packet wouldn't be a problem as long as it wasn't a one-a-day habit.

I ate unpasteurised brie last night even though it had a don't eat this if you're a big mummy tummy warning on it. I'm also drinking champers later. Won't make a habit of it, but it was niiiiice.

Wish I could shake the indigestion tho.

@ potent men. YOB refuses to crow even though it was a first-month-point-n-shoot-n-score. His first time ever so he should be chuffed, but he's just a biiiiit too shy for it. Bless.

skihorse · 25/12/2009 12:17

Funny you should say point-n-shoot-n-score, someone gave jailbait a hearty slap on the back and said "good shot". Wtf? What? As opposed to shooting it down her throat or up the bum?

givecarrotsachance · 26/12/2009 08:54

yeah - I remember when LC was born, so many people said, "well done!", as though I had any control over those pushing contractions...

OP posts:
Ponymum · 26/12/2009 13:35

Hope everyone had a jolly Christmas.

My plans to eat lots of forbidden things didn't really work out. Started with a little glass of bubbly but it was vile! I nearly spat it out. I seem to have lost all taste for alcohol. Very distressing. I found the only vaguely palatable drink was mulled wine, so I ended up having a glass of that with Christmas dinner. But I could only handle tiny sips, so it took me about 4 hours to drink it. And the big slab of fancy duck pate remained practically untouched (even though it's my favourite thing) because I just didn't really like the taste. What is wrong with me?

skihorse · 26/12/2009 15:11

Ponymum I hear you... I've gone from 10 cups of coffee a day to none... I just can't stand it right now.

CUNextTuesday · 26/12/2009 15:49

I hear you too - half a glass of wine = 3 hours. Distressing.

CurlyCasper · 26/12/2009 15:54

half of my Champagne went in the dog husband. But I did prefer MILs alternative canapes for preggos...

Back home now, with one very tired dog. SFF at work and I have to think about cooking. Do pizza places open on Boxing Day?

givecarrotsachance · 26/12/2009 16:48

Actually my dog loves champagne. High maintenance.

We're cracking a bottle tonight. If I can't drink it, YOB's getting the snip
