welcome to the thread ray, this is a new thread cos we managed to lose our other one.....

Dec 9th will come soon enough, I have mine next Friday, wasn't going to find out the sex but DP is going to Afganistan soon, so he would like to know before he goes.

I am quite excited as I have just felt junior move properly

hi, due 2nd april, first baby, nice to meet you all

hoops997 · 07/11/2009 21:41

welcome april, there are 2 of due on the 2nd Aril, you'll make 3

nicnacinoonoo · 08/11/2009 10:09

welcome ray and april

i can feel the baby moving around quite a bit now, its even making me jump sometimes.

we've gutted the room for the baby, stripped the wallpaper and got rid of the carpet. going to wait until we find out the sex at the scan before we decorate though. if its another boy we can make it boyish then and it doesnt matter who ends up in it, however if its a girl we'l keep it neutral just incase we decide to move ds in there at some point.

managed to get a gorgeous winnie the pooh play gym from home bargains for 16 pounds if anyone has one near them. its rrp was 40, im very impressed with it.

Had my due date as 27th april but scan changed it to 2nd May so I'm bottom of the list. Have to see a consultant at my next scan due to previous cs so having to wait until 21st December. Can't believe I've got to wait so long. Very jealous of you all getting your 20 week scans soon. Hope evrybody is well.

PrincessTweetz · 08/11/2009 18:09

Hello all, I 4t I'd lost every1 !! Haven't been on here for ages now, so it's nice t catch up withevery1's new...I had a night out last night, first one for absolutely ges!! I managed to stay upright in my ridiculously high heels lol...although the same can't be said for DP...Blame it on the free beer flowing round the tables all night!!
I have my 20 week scan 2moz...we are both going to find out what we haing this time, can't wait!!
And as for the swine flu , my niece and sister have just had it, I was absolutely mortified when I found out that my niece was on tamiflu and had still spent the last 2 days aroundme n dd, although I'm not as worried by it as some people, I still don't want my 2 year old over exposed to anything that's going to make her feel really poorly, and the only thing that bothers me about colds and flus is that I can't really take anything for them, and still have to find the energy to run after a 2 year old....bnever the less, I was more concerned about the swine flu thing than I originally thought I woul be...but all is well this end, thankfully!
That's a very long message!! Glad to have found you all again...oh and if anyone can add me, I would be grateful xx

Snowtiger · 08/11/2009 19:08

Hi everyone

Ray81 welcome to the group, I suffer from sciatica and find that acupuncture really helps - might be worth a go for you?

Weetiger I had a private scan done today and also found out I'm having a second little boy! Haven't explained it to DS1 yet as he's only 2.2 but will probably do so after Christmas (once DS1 is safely ensconced in his new bedroom).

I'm glad we've found out what we're going to have this time - I had about 10 minutes of feeling a bit sad for the daughter I'll never have (decided 2 DCs will be plenty!) but then told myself to stop being so ungrateful and am now quite happy really. I'd rather experience those few minutes of disappointment now than when I give birth to the little soul. Also nice to know that I won't have to buy more clothes / toys etc unless I want to and that I don't have to redecorate the nursery!

Little one is now wriggling around all over the place, I'm 18 wks now and really feeling the movements. Starting to get a bit freaked out at having to go through late pregnancy / birth etc. again in the not too distant future; the first 3 months felt like a lifetime but now the weeks are just whizzing past!

How's everyone else feeling? Anyone else found out the sex of their LO?

Snowtiger · 08/11/2009 19:08

Sorry meant to say hi to april too!

PrincessTweetz · 08/11/2009 19:32

Thank you Hoops xx
I'm finding out 2moz Snowtiger, you ds is same age as my dd...we have told her we are having a baba....it helped that my sister has a 3 month old that she is abslutely fascinated with, so we just told her mummy's having a baba like Scarlett...n now she wants to feel my belly all the time bless her, (not so cute when she's trying to lift my top up at shopping lol), but she thinks most people have a baby in their belly now....including herself haha.
I don't really mind what I'm having this time...I have been calling him a boy all this time, but the last few days I keep picturing a girl...we'll see, n I can't wait!!

dani87 · 08/11/2009 20:46

hi all and welcome newcomers! well got to see consultant for abnormal thyroid tomorrow kind of worried as read on net can effect babys nervous system hopefully not. i hope everyones ok! cant wait to see my LO thurs!

Bexybear · 08/11/2009 21:27

Hi all

Ive added myself back on the list. It took me so long to do it on the previous list ive put it off and lurked for a week or two!

had the SF jab yesterday after going round in circles with indecision for weeks - did lots of reading when i got sent the letter which helped and two of DPs colleagues going down with it sealed the decision - now really relieved ive done it and can stop thinking about it.

Nice to hear all the second scan stories - got ours in a couple of weeks and im quite excited to find out the sex - didnt last time but i always knew it was a boy whereas this time have no idea.

Oh and Stinky im so with you on this one -longest four months of my life (and will probably turn into the longest 9 months of my life ) 17+3 and still find most food repulsive - though hoooge thanks to the person who recomemded smoked salmon!

anyway better stop waffling

Wishing you good luck for today Dani87.

C1NDY · 09/11/2009 09:57

Hi Ray For siatica I have reflexology done every month and it really helps along with keeping me relaxed and stressed free

tostaky · 09/11/2009 10:27

Hi everybody!!

Wow! Lots of boys and no baby girls yet... (secretly hoping to have a girl here!!)
Should we add the gender next to the number in the EDD list?
I'll be finding out on the 20th!

Also, what everyone is doing for NYE? I usually have really crap NYE but this year should be different so I REALLY want to make the most of it and ive been looking at maternity evening dresses with no luck... theres a nice one in mamas&papas for £60 but it is a bit expensive for one evening... Not sure i will go to my office xmas party either so really will have wear it one night only... I could re-sell it on ebay mind you... I looked at Topshop but the dresses there look so cheap and not really pretty... Any suggestions?

nicnacinoonoo · 09/11/2009 13:09

tostaky i saw a really nice maternity dress on ebay, unfortunately it has sold now but it said it was originally from the maternity range at river island.

nicnacinoonoo · 09/11/2009 13:12

this was the river island one

this is another on ebay at the moment thats quite nice

Bettymum · 09/11/2009 15:19

Welcome new ladies!
Hope your scan went well princess and your appointment went well dani.
DH just rang to say our doctors surgery had just called, they are doing walk-in swine flu jabs on Thursday. I think I will try and get there first thing so I don't end up sitting in the waiting room all day...we have the 20 week scan that afternoon so it will be a good opportunity to check up on the Bub. I think on balance that having the jab is better than not, then catching flu, and then running the risk of complications. It's been a difficult decision though.
Hope everyone is having a good day, I am getting regular thumps and kicks now .

Bettymum · 09/11/2009 15:23

tostaky just remembered when I was pg with DD I got a couple of party tops from Peacocks, about a tenner each, one was silver and one was black sequins. They were both quite roomy and longish and I wore them over flowy black trousers. That might be an idea if you only need something to wear once? We have a big work ball on Friday, I'm wondering if I'm brave enough to wear the sequin one as a (mini) dress.

thedollshouse · 09/11/2009 16:14

On the subject of swine flu, ds is off school poorly today, high temperature and very sore throat. I did the online assessment for SF on the NHS website and it said I should get tamiflu for him! I don't think for a minute that he has swine flu as he only has two of the symptoms.

Out of curiosity I then put my own details in based on how I was feeling a couple of weeks ago. I also had the temperature and sore throat and I also had hacking cough, lots of phlegm, vommiting and headache. The online assessment said that I didn't have swine flu and no further medical treatment was required.

I find the whole diagnosis of SF very hit and miss. I was talking to a colleague the other day who said that her husband was diagnosed with SF and suffered a severe allergic reaction to tamiflu which he was hospitalised for and it turns out it wasn't SF anyway it was just a common cold.

I find it very concerning that I can now go and pick up tamiflu for ds when his only symptoms are sore throat and temperature. A lot of his friends from school have been off with the same symptoms and they have recovered in a couple of days so it obviously isn't SF.

lineky · 09/11/2009 16:23

Well just had Swine Flu Jab and am glad I can stop dithering now. Just as I was leaving work the business manager came to tell me they were informing pregnant staff of the first confirmed case at my school so probably for the best.
I am feeling my little sproglet quite a bit now - its very nice but also very odd!

flybynight · 09/11/2009 17:00

I can't believe you don't see a midwife between 16 and 28 weks now! Stunned!

How did the appointment go, dani? My sister, who is due on 1 May, has no thyroid at all and has pretty stringent blood tests and checks. But if everything is monitored it shouldn't be a problem.

dani87 · 09/11/2009 17:45

hi all thanks for askin how it went not long got back from my appointment everything ok he took my bloods to see if its settled will find out in 2 weeks! But he said it was more likely down to the fact i was suffering really bad with ms and made my thyroid over react! so hopefully everything has settled as dont want to go back lol as he wasnt very good at gettin my bloods

Neeko · 09/11/2009 18:06

Hi all. Sorry not ben on in a while. RL very hectic and I'm absolutely shattered.
Pleased to hear everyone is getting on well.

I was determined I wasn't getting the swine flu jag but am now coming round to it. I have appt with MW next week (22weeks so you're still seen here) and will discuss it with her then. Think I might feel better about it after the scan on Thurs. Don't think I'd have it if this was my 1st but have to consider the impact on DD. pregnancy is just one difficult decision after another isn't it?
