Well I'd never heard of 'foof' til half an hour ago but I think you're assuming correctly. Shame the 2nd ones don't just fall out, eh?

Gotta go and pick up DD from nursery. Peace shattered, ah well.

pillia78 · 03/03/2010 14:55

Neeko I am hoping for birthing pool this time. DS2 shot out so quickly that the Midwife hadn't even put the plug in! I am also hoping that it is less than 2 hours again and have my TENS machine booked but will have to do without gas and air as it makes me violently sick! Just hoping it is quick and as 'easy'??! as last time! Watched 'One Born' last night and veered between crying and laughing!

HoopsIsGettingMassive · 03/03/2010 15:04

have always called my nethers my 'foof' ever since I was a kid never have liked the term 'fanjo'!

Foof is scarily similiar to Hoof
I wish my first baby had shot out... Emergency C last time after alot of trying. Anyone hoping for a VBAC? I worry they will push me for the section if I take too long??

nicnacinoonoo · 03/03/2010 15:31

hi all, welcome boodstress

i had never heard of foof or fanjo until i saw people saying it on here.

had my midwife check yesterday, she said the head is down bouncing on my bladder, not that it matters for me as ill be having a section. got my consultant appointment next week to book my date for it, cant wait.

nipples have started leaking, only a couple of miniscule drops but it made me weirdly happy. reassurance that they are working i suppose ha.

Snowtiger · 03/03/2010 17:30

Foof's a new one on me too but I do rather like it.

I've started to leak a bit of colostrum too, Nicnac, and likewise it made me strangely happy that things are on their way. Weird!!

Zeeky · 03/03/2010 19:11

My bump seems to be a bit lower too, and people who see me regularly have commented on it. Still got 7 weeks to go, and would really rather not have it early!

DS is supposed to be starting nursery a couple of mornings a week soon. Finally got the paperwork through from them and guess what start date they have for him - 21st April - THE DAY AFTER MY DUE DATE! I painstakingly explained to them before Christmas about how I needed DS to be settled in to nursery BEFORE the baby arrives etc etc but they obviously totally ignored me! I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if he can start some "settling-in" sessions before Easter, as I doubt very much I will be able to stay with him for the first few sessions otherwise as it is likely that I will be in labour or have a newborn!!!! What a pain in the a**e. I was so when I read the paperwork just now. DH keeps telling me not to stress about it and it will work out ok and he will make sure DS settles in ok but it's not really helping at the moment!

Jennysbean · 04/03/2010 11:26

Hello,

I have not been on for ages so checking in! Finished work this week which is great although now realise how exhausted I am. Took advantage of DD being at nursery on Monday and Tuesday to sleep....and sleep and sleep some more.

5 weeks to go, feel like I have had hardly any appointments with midwife /GP this time around but seeing MW next week so hopefully the bambino is getting him/herself ready too.
Guess I should think about a hospital bag and actually getting prepared!

With you on the stabbing pains in the 'foof' aarea and the braxton hicks are getting really strong now.....eek.

My DH is doing a distance learning masters and has a seminar on my due date. It's in London and we are in Edinburgh.....sigh....I would really like him to be able to go as he is stressed out about it but wants to do the right thing. What are the odds of the baby coming on the due date????!!!

Bettymum · 04/03/2010 15:23

Jennysbean, I think only 5 percent arrive on their due dates .
Is he flying or going on the train? He could probably be back to Edinburgh in four hours...my DSis went into labour (early) in the UK when her DH was in Italy, he jumped on the next plane and got there just in time!

lineky · 04/03/2010 18:27

Hi all.Only 5 and a bit weeks to go but feels like an age
My bump doesn't seem to have dropped yet but bub us the right way round. Can't believe how easily knackered I get - insisted on going on a walk with DH and dogs yeaterday - wheezed my way up a hill and marched along but was royally F**d by the time I got home. Now my DH is telling me to stop doing anything I start - I may go mad!!!

helenwombat you can just copy and paste the most recent list and add yourself onto it. Blimey, we need to start a new thread pdq! Looking at the March thread and they have LOADS of threads!

rumpleteaser · 05/03/2010 11:33

Hello everyone, I saw the doc and midwife in the past 2 days, both of them reassured me that all the 'foof' pain, turning over in bed pain, giant feet, feeling like a really old person is all normal and will probably last for the next six weeks and will get worse as baby's head engages. yay.

Also they think I may be more pregnant than previously estimated or I have a giant baby.. which won't be comfirmed until my scan on 30th March.. my DPs birthday.. I could well have a baby before then!
My friends are taking bets on when baby will pop out.

Anyway I'm glad in a way that all the discomfort is normal, I was starting to worry a bit.
Off to do my hospital bag now!!

Hope everyone's well and the breechy ones turn rightside up.

rumpleteaser · 05/03/2010 11:55

Oh re: perineal massage, I'm terrified of stitches so I got some of that oil from mothercare and told DP to do it! ( I even showed him the horrific diagrams online )
It was uncomfortable at first but really WASN'T a passion killer!

Snowtiger · 05/03/2010 18:08

Ooh rumpleteaser you filthy girl

Snowtiger · 05/03/2010 18:41

Hello again ladies,
Hope everyone's doing OK. I went to the doctor's this morning as I have a horrible prickly-heat type rash from my boobs down to my thighs that is driving me NUTS, and while I was there (saw a locum) discovered that the blood tests I had done 2 months ago came back showing I'm anaemic but that no-one had bothered to contact me!! No wonder I've been feeling so effing knackered!! Am now on iron tablets - you other ladies who've been prescribed them, did they help? And are you horribly constipated?!

I've also discovered 2 horrible hideous stretch marks on my tum this morning, which is really annoying as I've been slathering on the Bio Oil (at quite some cost, I must say!) religiously every day. I was so smug not getting any with DS1 and naturally assumed I wouldn't get any this time either, but was still a good girl, greasing myself up like a slippery pig each morning. Sigh. Never mind eh, worse things happen at sea I expect.

Just been over to see a friend who's just had her second baby (her DD1 is the same age as my DS1, 2.6) and it's really started to hit home that that's going to be me soon - trying to feed a baby while keeping an eye on a toddler who's running amok with the felt tips and ramming bits of cake down the back of the sofa.

It was quite good in a way because she was able to give me some tips (no.1 was 'tape a LOT of Peppa Pig and always have the remote to hand') and I was able to remind her how horrible late pregnancy can be with a toddler to look after, so we were both cheered up by the end of it.

Anyone else so massively uncomfortable that labour & birth are looking quite appealing? Forgive the rant but I just need to get out of my system the fact that even though I long for bed all day (that'll be the iron deficiency) when I get to bed I can't sleep because I have:

  • chronic acid indigestion
  • chronic back ache
  • restless legs
  • a massive bump in the way of everything
  • need to wee every 30 mins
  • baby kicking me in the ribs / foof all the time
  • unbelievably itchy torso
  • leg cramps

...plus a toddler who gets up 5 times a night and a husband who snores, but that's nothing to do with the pregnancy is it.

Anyone else fancy a moan? Go on, it'll make me feel less like a miserable old be-atch.

Hope you're all having a good Friday night ladies - I'm got a glass of wine coming my way once DS1 is in bed and I don't even care about the indigestion it's going to give me! (Bring on the Masterchef quarter final!!)

And Rtuff if you're out there, we need you to start the new thread asap I think!

lineky · 05/03/2010 19:19

Huge - Check
Indigestion - Check
getting beaten up from inside - Check
Up to the loo frequently - Check
Snoring (but its me - check.

I am def looking forward to not being pregnant!

Snowtiger · 05/03/2010 19:56

Ha ha, Lineky, I wouldn't admit to the snoring myself, because I like being able to shout at DH for it too much but when I had a nap with DS1 at lunchtime today I woke up furious, thinking "Christ, who's that snoring so loudly???" and then realised it was me...

tostaky · 05/03/2010 22:18

Let me join the pity party!!I was so exhausted on Thursday that i took DS in bed with me at 11.30am for a "nap" and we woke up at 3pm!! (and of course the next morning, DS woke up at 5.30)

rumpleteaser are you pleased to be farther along than you thought you were?

I have yet to do my hospital bag though...
i have been panicking a bit about the birth so we decided to hire a doula this time around. Much more comforting.

Also I might be crazy but i have started selling some of my maternity stuff on ebay... and kept some just in case (whether we go for a third DC is still in the air)

thedollshouse · 06/03/2010 09:12

Snowtiger - I feel your pain regarding the lack of iron. I went 2 months without anyone telling me my results as well.

The iron tablets have made a difference but it took about 2 and half weeks before I felt any better. I wouldn't go as far as saying I feel energetic but I certainly feel better than I did.

I don't enjoy this pregnancy lark, I shan't be doing it a third time thats for sure! Tmi I know but I discovered some gross bobbly skin things down below, my bump is so big that I can't actually see what they are but it did make me feel a bit sick.

I have been googling personal fitness trainers, there is no way I can afford one but it makes me feel better knowing that once the little one is out I can do something about losing all this weight and getting in shape. I saw a gorgeous little black dress from Whistles featured in Red magazine and I want to make it my aim to be able to fit into it by Christmas. Don't know where I will wear it as generally my social life doesn't get any more exciting than ds's nativity play.

I don't know how everyone else feels but the last few weeks I have really felt that I have bonded more with the baby and I am starting to feel quite over protective of him. I can't wait to meet him although not too soon I hope as I haven't got the moses basket out of the loft or packed a bag yet!

rumpleteaser · 06/03/2010 09:57

tostaky I hope I am farther on than previously thought because otherwise I have a huge baby.. and that terrifies me! Ow!
Apart from the thought of stiches I'm also looking forward to labour! It's gonna be so good not being a massive pregnant blimp any more and I'm determined to get all fit and slim!
I'M SO SICK OF HAVING FAT FEET!!!
My last remaining indulgence was shoe shopping cos clothes don't fit me - now even that's ruined!!
[crying, tantrum throwing emoticon]

Can anyone give me a vague idea of what Braxton Hicks feels like?
I'm sure I should be having some.. have I had them and not noticed??

nicnacinoonoo · 06/03/2010 13:05

rumpleteaser my braxton hicks are my tummy going hard/tight if that makes sense. i notice them most when im lying in bed at night. sometimes i feel like i breathe a bit deeper when i have them too.

thedollshouse im totally with you on everything u said, definitely dont want to be pregnant a 3rd time. and i feel like im a lot closer to the baby now, im really looking forward to meeting and looking after her now.

also cannot wait to get back into some nice clothes, i too am determined to get slim as soon as possible after the baby.

i have not packed my hospital bag yet either, im going to do it once i get my date from the consultant on thursday i think.

i have ds's birthday party next sunday. i have booked it at thingamagiz (one of those indoor play areas with big slides and what not) so hopefully it wont be too much stress. they do all the games and serve a buffet etc i just need to take a cake and candles and a present for pass the parcel. anyway thats the last big thing i need to do before the baby so i can just concentrate on being ready for the baby after that.

pillia78 · 07/03/2010 15:54

Snowtiger I have had exactly the same rash for about 2 weeks and after lathering myself in Sudocrem and aqeous cream it seems to be subsiding but I am totally with you on the discomfort front and the toddler waking up lots!
Tostaky I am also thiking of selling some of my maternity stuff on ebay as some of it doesn't fit anymore, I am putting it down to the fact that I have a short body, not that I have put weight on! But then the stuff could be useful just after the birth when the huge bump has gone but still can't fit into 'normal' stuff
It is my birthday tomorrow and praying that we exchange on our house as that would be the best present ever!

stinkypinky · 07/03/2010 16:41

snowtiger check all horrid symptoms, plus husband who snores.

Plus SPD, plus one more sodding week at work, plus DD with virus and temps almost reaching 40.

Plus gonna be 41 very soon... but my hair looks great at the moment!

stinkypinky · 07/03/2010 16:45

plus skin tags on foof - one so large it will need removing at hospital post birth. all hormone related.

the joys
