Oooh....I just worked out I've put 8.3 kilos on!! I'm now 10.2 n I was 8.8 (stones), n I think I just worked it out right.....I'll blame my pregnancy brain, n not the fact that I'm not too good at maths hehe.
My belly's really stretching tonight, time to get the bio oil I think!!

rumpleteaser · 11/01/2010 07:41

I've been bathing in Bio Oil since day 1 and belly still looks like an A-Z! Lucky you princestweetz!

I've given up trying to work out how much I'm supposed to weigh now - I never knew what I weighed before and my knickers still fit me so I'm gonna stop worrying!

I think everyones baby names on here are lovely, they're all unique and beautiful

Mistymoo · 11/01/2010 08:59

rumpleteaser I started with bio oil as soon as I was pregnant but I'm allergic to it. I get horrible itchy blotches so had to stop. I'm just trying to remember to moisturise.

I was weighed at my booking appointment and haven't been weighed since. I have been on the wii fit board and keep being told I'm putting on loads of weight and my mii is looking rather fat

Bettymum · 11/01/2010 10:35

flybynight we are thinking of Magnus for our wee boy I posted a thread on the baby names topic (it's the one called "we told PILs our choice and they laughed" ).
The general consensus seems to be that it is a good name! I have Orkney connections (grandfather) but I just like the name.
I love Morven too.
Liking Cosmo and Valentin, there are some lovely ideas on this thread.

Snowtiger · 11/01/2010 11:19

Hi ladies
Yes, another ratty mum who's fed up with the snow here too - everyone's treating me as if I'm made of bone china and won't let me go out in it, even to the end of the garden! Can't wait for it to go now.

I love the names that are being suggested, particularly Morven and Magnus. I'm still in a bit of a stand-off with DH about our name for DS2. DS1 has an old fashioned name so I want something similar for DS2 to go with it, but DH doesn't like the only name that I do like!

My plan of action is to do a bit of bargaining - DH's father died in 2008 and he wants his father's name (Ronald!! Yeurgh!!) as DS2's middle name so I'm going to suggest that if we call DS2 by the first name that I want then he can have Ron or Ronnie (definitely not Ronald though) as a middle name.

Am I being horribly manipulative? Or just pregnant....?!

flybynight · 11/01/2010 13:56

No snowtiger, that's not manipulative! Just sensible. I'm taking the same tack of suggesting paternal grandfather's name as a middle name (ours is still alive, right enough) to sweeten the Magnus proposal.

Mow me waiting for the post-labour glow to seal the deal, well, that IS manipulative but you have to play the cards you've got !

ilovesprouts · 11/01/2010 17:16

my dd likes charlie, finlay ,oakley ,a lots of mn ers dont like it .eg skiwear/sunglasses !! she cant think of anymore she likes at the mo ,shes 24+3 days

thedollshouse · 11/01/2010 17:27

Very envious of Rtuff off to Mauritius! A welcome change from the snow.

We have decided on Rory, its the only name that dh likes. I also like Tobias (Toby) but dh doesn't like it enough to go for it.

Is anyone else feeling far more pregnant than they actually are? I'm 27+1 but I feel like I did with ds when I was 37 weeks. I'm in the hibernation grumpy stage, I can't get comfortable so not sleeping well, I'm moving around like an old lady and I am incredibly irritated by people, I'm finding it is best to avoid the company of other people as whatever they say it will wind me up. I feel like I have a very bad case of PMT!

pillia78 · 11/01/2010 19:29

mistymoo I think the wii fit should have a pregnancy mode as mine is looking a bit chubby too! I ahven't weighed myself and have only been weighed once at my first consultant appointment, I know I ahve put weight on and don't want the scales gloating about it!!!
Tweetz you are sooo lucky, I have been using bio-Oil since the day I found out and am on my second bottle already!!! I am also using Body Shop Shea Body Butterwhich smells gorgeous...

Jennysbean · 11/01/2010 20:13

I feel much more pregnant than I did last time around too dollshouse , very big and uncomfortable and I could sleep for a week, I am stopping work at 34 weeks which is earlier than last time but I honestly do not think I could go any longer!! Plus I am a liability at work, keep forgetting things and have zero patience for anyone!!
Names are so hard, such a responsibility!! I like Theo for a boy and am totally stuck for a girls name.......keep scanning film credits for ideas!
Magnus is a very strong and successful name I think...the boy will go far

Jennysbean · 11/01/2010 20:30

me again ....I have added myself on to the list.

Pilia I love the smell of shea butter as well....absolutely gorgeous!! I've been usin bio-oil since about 3 months, but not every day...my skin is startin to feel really sore in one area, n I think it might be where Jude's bum is!! I use it as an excuse to get dp to rub my belly each night now...I'm working on the back rub as well but he's not giving in....he was sooooooooooooooo much more understanding when I was pregnant with dd!!!

Neeko · 11/01/2010 21:38

Hi all. Just adding to the weight debate. I've put on 9.6kg so far which seems to be within the guidelines and I'm 30 week tomorrow.
We can't agree on any names yet so think we'll just go for Baby regardless of whether it's a boy or girl
My bump feels massive and my mum was gobsmacked when she saw it today I'm a big fan of bio oil and no new stretchmarks so far.(3 tiny ones from DD) Fingers crossed.

hoops997 · 11/01/2010 22:00

I'm loving some of the names on here, we have decided on Liam Scott for our little bundle of joy, am feeling massive and I'm only 28+3, I have put on a whopping 2 stone!! My family are all laughing at me because I'm waddling like a duck and still have 12 weeks left, god I'm going to be massive by the time little Liam comes out aaaagggggghhhhhh!!!!

rumpleteaser · 12/01/2010 08:31

I saw on a website that at my current stage - 26 weeks - the baby is about 36cm... I was gobsmacked! That's huge! That's the same size as my cat (minus tail, yes I measured her!).. even more gobsmacked when someone told me it'll be about 50cm when it comes out!!
I may sound silly - this is my first pregnancy though and it still really shocks me!

stinkypinky · 12/01/2010 08:49

Rumpleteaser they do curl up though. Just don't read the size of the head, whatever you do

thehuntress · 12/01/2010 10:03

Hi all. It's been a while since I checked in. I'm 28+3 now and feeling huge too. On the stretchmark front, I've been using the Clarins Tonic Oil (which smells lovely). I used it with my previous pregnancy, and no stretchmarks so far (fingers crossed). It's expensive (I think £25 a bottle) but last for ages.

I also had to go in for a scan yesterday. Bump hadn't been moving all that much over the weekend, and I started to get concerned. He was doing serious gymnastics before going quiet. Anyway, scan was fine - all well. He's moved into a breech position which might explain why I am not feeling him. With my previous pregnancy, she was in a head down position from about 23 weeks and stuck there till the end. SO it is weird to have this one moving around. All I feel now is light pitter-patters on my bladder.

We've also decided to go ahead and get our kitchen re-done the first two weeks in March. I'll be 37 weeks when they finish (hopefully). Please tell me I'm not crazy.

Bettymum · 12/01/2010 10:20

thehuntress you are crazy .
I have a growth scan tomorrow (28 weeks), can't wait to see my boy! I am starting to feel bits poking out now which is lovely, I was playing with a little foot at the weekend .
Weightwise I have put on 18lbs so far which is just over 8kgs. I only put on 21lbs with DD, so I'll be going over that with this one but I'm not too bothered. My bump's definitely bigger this time. My boobs must be as well as my bra is very tight and uncomfortable, it was fine last time. SUCH a relief to take it off every night!
Rumpleteaser I remember holding newborn babygros up to my tummy when I was pg with DD and thinking "but how can something that size be in there? and more to the point come out of there? But they are and they do!

Neeko · 12/01/2010 13:35

Thehuntress You're not mad. Our kitchen arrived the morning after I got home from the hospital with Dd and they spent the next 3 days fitting it whilst i had all my kitchen stuff in the dining/living room and half the world came to visit. It was fine. New born mayhem doesn't notice extra mayhem thrown in!

rumple I'm more incredulous of the size this time than last. Let's face it, we are quite simply amazing!

Bettymum think you have the perfect attitude to weight gain.

thehuntress · 12/01/2010 15:38

Neeko you've made me feel so much better! Thank you. They are saying it will take 10 days to fit it (argghh) but hopefully it will all be done before I pop!

ReneRusso · 12/01/2010 16:03

New kitchen? Pah! That's nothing . We're about to embark on building work. It was originally intended to be complete by April, but given that it hasn't started yet, that doesn't seem likely.

AdelaideJo · 12/01/2010 17:37

Hi everyone, has anyone ever had a blocked milk duct DURING pregnancy? I woke up this morning with a horrible pain in my left breast, it itches like mad, and this evening I have a pea sized lump in it which really hurts to prod or squeeze. I know its common afterwards or when ceasing to breast feed but I didn't think much was going on in the breast area until a bit later?

Am going to GP thursday and am praying its not some nasty abcess 'cause it hurts bigtime!

Am so in the wars - yesterday at work someone rolled a patient trolley over my toes...with a 40 STONE IN WEIGHT patient lying on it!!!!! I don't think my toe is broken but bloody hell it hurt so much....another reason why i'm considering stopping work soon...and i'm only 26 weeks .

Anyhow, milk duct knowledge/advice gratefully received!

Babymonster 29 2nd may 2010 #2 (c section at 39 weeks)

Hi I've thankfully been granted an elective c-section at 39 weeks so I am on the right thread and don't need to jump over onto the due in may thread. guesing its gonna be due about 23rd april but will have it confirmed at 37 weeks.

Been trying to explain to 2 year old ds that mummy has a baby in her tummy but he is totally confused and thinks that he has one too and so does daddy. Has anyone bought any of the story books to try and explain whats happening that you would recommend?

ilovesprouts · 12/01/2010 18:08

can i just say its my dd whos having the baby not me shes having a boy thanks x

thedollshouse · 12/01/2010 18:14

AdelaideJo I didn't have a blocked milk duct but when I was pregnant with ds1 I started leaking milk from 16 weeks onwards so I think milk production can start pretty early.

I don't blame you for wanting to start maternity leave early, its my last day next Friday I'm going at the earliest opportunity. I work with children and have found it quite hard going picking up all their bugs, I threw up in the childrens sink today with a crowd of little 4 year olds around me. The job I currently do was only ever a stop gap anyway, hoping to start a business with my ex work colleague after ds2 is born.
