HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Got a question...

Am drinking a Bucks Fizz this evening, and DP happens to notice a strange sticker on the Cava bottle which is a pregnant woman with a giant cross through it! Subtle...not!

I'm just wondering if anyone has even come across this on a wine bottle before? I'm not in the habit of drinking at all during pregnancy with DS or this one, but as its NYE i fancied a fizzy pop. I'm now worrying that the cava has got some nasty chemical in it which is NOT OKAY to drink when pregnant....

lineky · 01/01/2010 11:20

Happy New Year Everyone hope you all had a good night. It's snowing yet again here and I've woken up with a bigger headache than my drinking husband - not fair!
So glad it's now 2010 and it seems that much nearer to meeting little wriggly sproglet
AdelaideJo I have seen this sticker, not on Cava can't remember what it was on I wouldn't worry too much don't think a few bubbles will have done any harm.

nicnacinoonoo · 01/01/2010 14:23

happy new year all.

adelaidejo i saw that sticker on 1 of dh's beers the other day, its the first time i've seen 1 though.

snowtiger i have been having braxton hicks for a while and had them through my first pregnancy too so i dont think its anything to worry about.

stinkypinky · 01/01/2010 17:42

I saw a warning note on Pate in Morrisons the other day... Never seen it before.

PrincessTweetz · 01/01/2010 22:01

Oooh congras Tweetz and Adelaide! Good starts to the New yr then!!
After New Yrs eve and yasterday was DPs name day (another odd Bulgarian tradtion) I am knackered! Cooked curry for Bulgarian friends. My feet swelled up - I was fascinated by it! Like big, puffy fish they were!

Hello helenwombat, my bump jumps around at those times too and I don't sleep cos I sit watching it! Novelty will probably wear off for me soon though!

Hope everyone had lovely festivites, it was quite nice to be sober for a change and remember everything!

pillia78 · 02/01/2010 20:26

Dani Glad all ok and you've found a way of checking

nicnac I'm with you. Very grateful to be pregnant but because of the MC and stuff I've either been pregnant or trying to be for over a year and I'd like at least part of my body back and a drink!

Bettymum · 04/01/2010 09:56

Hello ladies, happy new year to everyone! I'm back at work with a big computer so I've been able to catch up on all the news, congratulations princess! That's lovely

dani87 · 04/01/2010 11:34

hey all just wandering if any of you no what a glucose tolerence test is? obviuosly its to do with sugar but i was told i have got to do one of these tests on thurs but not 100% sure why .

Snowtiger · 04/01/2010 12:50

Hi ladies, happy new year.

Misty, Pillia & Nicnac thank you for the reassurance, glad to know the braxton hicks are nothing to worry about.

Congrats to PrincessT and Adelaide too!

Has anyone else found their attitude towards baby, birth etc. has changed since the start of the new year? I've been shitting my pants about it all since I fell pregnant this time, worrying about everything, how I'll cope with a baby and toddler etc. but suddenly now it's "this year" I feel a bit more "right then, let's stop worrying and just get the fuck on with it then". Got a BIG to-do list that includes everything down to buying the maternity pads and packing DS1's Trunki for when he goes to stay with Grandma & Grandpa while mummy's having a baby and strangely feel a lot more in control.

Just me or you too? Hormones perhaps...!

hoops997 · 04/01/2010 12:54

hello everyone, just checking in to see how everyone is, I'm good, started the final trimester but my body is in bits!!!

Have horrendous sickness and heartburn but it's a sign everything is still ok, mini-hoops is busy doing back-flips or something like that, anyway I will read through everyones posts when I get home and catch up

slightlycrumpled · 04/01/2010 13:41

Hello everyone, sorry to have been absent for so long but life has been....well a little tricky to say the least!

First DS2 was admitted (again) to hospital with a really nasty chest infection, then we were home for only a day when DH was very seriously ill and spent 11 days in hospital with still no answers, as to what happened. He needed two blood transfusions and ended up with a DVT from spending so long in bed. He now has to inject himself twice a day to get rid of the clot and has lots of apts lined up.

It was a truly difficult run up to Christmas with DH only being discharged on the 20th, which is also our wedding anniversary, DS2 still not being very well and DS1 beside himself with worry about DH.

I have had no time to think about being pregnant apart from stress/upset and pregnancy do not make a good mix. I had many a fainting episode at the hospital but couldn't leave him.

Still today he has ventured to work for a few hours and I have taken delivery of a pushchair and other baby bits so starting to feel a little excited.

Congrats princess and adelaide, what fab starts to the new year .

Hope everyone else is well. x

Bettymum · 04/01/2010 14:37

slightlycrumpled that all sounds dreadful. I hope everyone is on the mend now. Take care of yourself and your family x
snowtiger I think you're right. We have spent the last two days moving all the bookshelves from the spare room upstairs into the sitting room downstairs, and then I've been carting boxes of books down and refilling all the shelves. Exhausting. I am so excited to begin clearing the room for the Bub! We have a cot arriving tomorrow, it was reduced to £99 from £215 in the John Lewis sale, so too good a bargain to miss. I think it will all start to look very real when there's a cot in the room .
My bump is getting big now, I'm a bit worried that it still has three weeks left to grow. I am going to topple over face first if it keeps growing at the same rate!

Snowtiger · 04/01/2010 14:37

slightlycrumpled I'm so sorry to hear what a horrible time you've been having of it all - just wanted to send a (very un-MN) hug and hope that you're all on the mend soon. x

Bettymum · 04/01/2010 14:37

Oops, three months not weeks!
