shelinka · 15/12/2009 07:01

Hi all! I had a second scan yesterday. Everything's fine, the dates are still spot on, (going by lmp 21+5, and by measurements 21+4).

This baby moves around a lot less than my other two did, I wonder if that means she'll be a more chilled out newborn?

Anyone else find that their pregancy is flying by? I don't have much time to think about it I suppose, because of the dc's and work.

PrincessTweetz · 15/12/2009 08:34

We have a poorly household as well!! DD is starting to come out of her s now a bit more, but I had been sleeping on the sofa with her to keep her propped up to ease the coughing...now I feel like I'm back to the early days of settling her back in bed when I took her dummy away! Still, I suppose it reminds me of what to do ready for lil Jude come along lol....Big sympathy and hugs to everyone who's been poorly and had poorly kid....and not to mention the poorly partners! How bad do they have it...I never realised there was an unwritten rule book to say mums have to plod on through whatever we have, but dp's get all the rest and sleep they need to recover! We on the mend now ...just in time for xmas, but I'll be staying in wrapped up and warm tomoz on my birthday! Feel guiltier that dp is gonna stay in with me than I do aboutmissing out on a good night ! Hope everyone starts t feel loads better soon, and that no one else gets it before christmas xx Must go...gotta take a hot coffee up to dp to ease him out of his nice, comfy pit haha x

flybynight · 15/12/2009 09:42

Princess you are spoiling that man. Have a lovely birthday tomorrow - make sure you get your coffee in bed.

Rtuff · 17/12/2009 09:44

Morning all,
I haven't been on for a while as we moved last week and everything seems to be completely upside down, getting a little more sorted now though. Although DS had decided he doesn't want to sllep through the night any more! Still, it gets me in the habit of sleepless nights!

I feel like this pregnancy is very quick as well, I can't belive I'm 25 weeks already! And with having a c-section a week early that's only 14 weeks left!!

I start pregnancy yoga at the begining of January, has anyone else done/doing this? If so what do you think of it?

I hope everyone is feeling well!

oops

ReindeerRusso · 17/12/2009 23:08

I went to pregnancy yoga a few weeks back just to try it out and it put me in a bad mood . The instructor spent a lot of time making it very clear that a lovely natural delivery = success. I have had two rather horrendous deliveries and will possibly have a elective c/s this time, so I just felt like a fish out of water. I was hoping to feel relaxed, but left feeling . But Rtuff I sincerely hope you enjoy your yoga, and hope your sessions give you what you're after

Bettymum · 18/12/2009 14:30

Congrats on your news sprouts! Happy birthday princess and wellie!
Today's disaster - going flying on the icerink that is the High St, two women rushed to help and so did a man, he rushed so fast that he went flying too.
Arm is a bit sore but bump is fine. He is poking and tickling me and making me laugh.
RTuff I have given up on my pregancy yoga. I prepaid the 6 week session and managed to make only a couple, but I won't be going back. I found it all a bit airy fairy and gentle and probably not helpful in an active birth kind of sense, which is what I was hoping for - a bit more dynamic. However from doing lots of yoga classes of different types over the years I can say that every teacher and every class is different so you might well have a fab time, I hope so.
Excited as today's my last day in the office for two weeks, now I can get down to the serious business of finishing making my pressies and wrapping them all [fmile].

Bettymum · 18/12/2009 14:31

Oops, not [fmile]!

flybynight · 18/12/2009 17:01

Pregnancy yoga is an interesting one. I had my last two babies in Australia and there pregnancy yoga was a big deal, practically mandatory. I tried it, but personally, I found it all a bit self-conscious. Pregnancy pilates was much more my cup of tea. I wish I could do that now as it keeps you flexible and strong but without being exhorted to "hug my baby to me". I haven't found that round here though.

That said, Rtuff any yoga I've been to in the UK has been far more practical and grounded than the Aussie stuff. So you may not have to do too much visualising yourself as a popping peapod.

thedollshouse · 18/12/2009 19:37

ReindeerRusso I know what you mean about some yoga teachers. I have always enjoyed yoga but have come across some strangish teachers. I went to a post natal yoga group after ds was born and we were discussing births (ds was breech and I had a csection) and she said "Oh what a shame, you should have demanded a natural birth" Also when I said that bfing hadn't worked out for us she wanted to put ds to my breast as she said it wasn't too late to relactivate, even though we had given up 5 months earlier! I know technically it is possible but that wasn't the reason I signed up for the yoga class!

PrincessTweetz · 18/12/2009 20:03

Hehe...I did flyby...along with lots of choccies n big bunch of lily's...my fave Then I got even more pressies yay, truly spoilt this year, bless him!
Thanx bettymum Glad you're ok xx and hope you had a great day as well wellie xx
Was trying to plan my next week of housework chores (yawn!!) and can'tbelieve I've actually only got 3 full days sent at home to scrub my house and catch up on the ironing before I pack my things and head off to my mummy's...she only lives down the road lol...literally....but I'm spending xmas there lol....oooh very exciting though...can't wait, but I've been eating fa too much chocolate already :/ I think I can feel my skin stretching..it feels like it's ripping. I think it's cuz Jude is a boy and knows he doesn't have to worry how much pain he gives me in labour, or how many stretchmarks he gives me, he's never going to experience them himself so he can carry on! Boys eh?!

stinkypinky · 19/12/2009 11:06

Thoroughly pissed off today - had works christmas meal yesterday...
Secret Santa got me socks! Sodding socks! Black ones from Tesco, and luminous fluffy zebra ones for labour (yeah right!)

Then, THEN, Christmas dinner two hours after sitting down, with no sausage in bacon and no cranberry sauce. Demanded them in true 'pissed-off-pregnant-woman' manner, was told they had run out, so told them it was on the effing menu, it was a christmas effing party, and there was an effing great Tesco across the street, and if they knew what was effing good for them.... to a round of applause from my colleagues, then burst into tears!
By the time missing items arrived, we had finished eating. Still furious. Pud was missing toffee sauce too. And had to be sober.

Rant over.

I love christmas

lineky · 19/12/2009 15:31

lol stinkypinky
For my secret Santa pressie yesterday I got haemaroid cream

stinkypinky · 19/12/2009 16:30

Oh dear lineky! At least that showed a bit of thought... I could really do with some (sorry if TMI)

Neeko · 20/12/2009 08:48

Bad luck you two on the Secret Santa. Mine is on Tuesday - dreading it now

Hope everyone is ok. Only 5 sleeps to go. Think I'm more excited than DD

rumpleteaser · 20/12/2009 10:01

stinkypinky well done on xmas dinner demands! I would've applauded too!
btw are labour socks a neccessary requirement?
I will have to add them to shopping list!

stinkypinky · 20/12/2009 10:06

rumpleteaser - you can have mine! I believe cold feet are quite common (not just metaphorically)

We have lots of snow here, and I am getting quite anxious about how I will get to work tomorrow....

dani87 · 20/12/2009 16:17
