hi everyone feeling so much betta now! dd is only 19months so she still learning whats right and wrong. anyway i mixed it with a yoghurt which my mum did with me and she said worked a treat. i can say that tonight my dd is getting back to normal as she is bouncing about on her bouncing zebra thanks for all the advice. oh and i did try the syringe dd not happy with them as tried it with the nerofen she preferes spoons

thehuntress · 09/12/2009 10:38

Dani87 - I sympathise with you. My DD (3.1) has had a series of ear/chest infections and courses of antibiotics each time. It is so difficult. Luckily I am always able to find some way of getting the medicine in her...but not without a fight.

Well, I've been utterly exhausted this week. My DD had grommits in on Monday, which was pretty traumatic. I think the whole experience has really taken it out of me. When they put her to sleep, I held it together until I had to lay her on the bed and leave, and then I just burst out sobbing. She is fine, and bouncing around now but I'm still recovering She was really distressed when she woke up for at least a couple of hours and she only wanted Mummy.

And also I'm feeling a bit depressed about how much longer this pregnancy is going to last. I feel guilty because I should be thankful to have a healthy pregnancy and baby, but I'm just one of those women who doesn't enjoy being pregnant. The beginning of April seems SOOO far away. Is anyone else feeling this way?

Mistymoo · 09/12/2009 15:04

I think I'm the opposite to you huntress. I feel like time is flying by at the moment. I have been trying to arrange a time to meet up with a friend of mine but it seems to be that there is so much on we just can't get together.

I'm feeling well at the moment too and so am enjoying being pregnant. I may not be saying that in a couple of months time

nicnacinoonoo · 09/12/2009 15:20

im feeling fine with the pregnancy but do wish it would go faster, beginning to get bored with it now and just want my beautiful new baby to be here. once the nursery gets wallpapered and i can start putting stuff in it and getting things ready ill probably feel better, but just feel like im at a bit of a stand still at the moment. just want to get on with things.

im trying to look at it in stages. soon it will be christmas, then in january it is dh's birthday, in feb it is my birthday and in march it is ds's birthday. then the baby will be here! saying it like that it doesnt seem too far away but i just know it'll go really slow.

JPL81 · 09/12/2009 15:55

thehuntress I'm not really enjoying pregnancy either. I've not really been ill but feel constantly grotty and I look like crap! Everyone goes on and on about blooming but I'm just spotty, fat, pale and knackered! I had my spine fused when I was 15 so I'm getting all sorts of nasty aches and pains as a result - I was warned though.

That said, this is my first pregnancy so every time I feel the baby move I still get very excited and I'm relieved everything seems to be going as it should, so I shouldn't be such a twiney cow ! I'm sure we're allowed to be though, now and again .

lineky · 09/12/2009 16:27

Oh the huntress I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't overly enjoy being pregnant. I was really ill first 3/4 months. Not bad now but can't stop fretting about what is still to come! It does just seem to take a long time and I just want little sproglet to arrive
Having said all that I've had a good day today, my nails and hair are fab and I'm quite enjoying shopping for maternity clothes! Always a plus side I suppose.

rumpleteaser · 11/12/2009 08:24

Hello everyone, hope all's ok.
I'm feeling sorry for myself wih a kidney infection at the mo and stuck in the house 'resting'.
I was worried in case it had any effects on the baby but doc looked on scan today and said all was ok and I'll be back to 'normal' after some nasty medicine.

I realised I'm over 5 months pregnant and it shocked me!! Wow!

thehuntress · 11/12/2009 10:04

Thanks ladies. You've made me feel a bit better. Like you lineky, I was really ill for the first 16 weeks, and although the last two months have been better i seem to be getting cold after cold. I just got over one (it took three weeks) and already have the start of another one . Argh, there I go complaining again!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Bettymum · 11/12/2009 10:23

We are an ill bunch aren't we
I'm just getting over food poisoning, had another near-fainting-in-a-shop experience on Wednesday afternoon and DH had to come and get me from work and take me home. Feeling a bit better now but bump very hard and sore. Still lots of wriggling about though so I think he's OK.
Just updating the list as I added another year on yesterday .

Morning all.

Tis ThePhantomPlopper in disguise. Have my 20 week scan in 2 hours time! Excited. Have started seeing little body parts prodding through my stomach now.

We're all a healthy bunch eh?! I've got an awful cough and it's driving me mad, threw up from coughing the other night.

Shall report back later.

Enjoy your day.

hoops997 · 11/12/2009 12:16

Hello all, yep another 'ill' lady here, as signed off work with my back (boo hiss) and am sitting at home bored,bored,bored.......did I mention that I'm bored??!!

Good luck with your scan today richardcranium....it's fab sitting a baby on the screen....

Can't quite believe I'm 24 weeks today, wow the time has gone quick, have started buying things for mini-hoops now but due to my little sister having a boy 2 months ago, don't have to buy any baby-gros or vests, cause I'll have all hers.

One of the strange things is lying in bed and mini-hoops goes mad and jumps around in my belly, I'm sure I could feel a bum or head last night just under my right boob, fely very strange

Happy birthday for yesterday bettymum

Hope everyone else is good

thighsmadeofcheddar · 11/12/2009 15:06

Oh no, everyone sounds really poorly. Thank god it's the weekend huh?

I need to join the long list of ailments. I have insane (self diagnosed) stretching pains in my stomach and a really sore lower back, just above my bottom. My mobility is shot (I'm walking like I'm 100) and I think I'm going to have to go into the doctor/midwife on Monday. Anyone else in the same boat?
This pregnancy has blown the whole way through, bring on April!

xx

hoops997 · 11/12/2009 15:39

thighs yes, also walking like I'm 100 and can't walk more than 20 metres down the road wothout the horrible stretching pains on my right side, spoke to midwife about these and she said it's probably the baby hanging out on that side so putting more pressure on already overstretched ligaments.......oh the joys!!!!!!

With you on the bring on APRIL

PumaGirl · 12/12/2009 23:44

Hi All,

RichardCranium? Liking the name . Congrats on a good scan and another girl.

I think I'm the only one who's feeling well at the moment, apart from not being able to walk far without stretching pains. Hmmm ... maybe shouldn't speak too soon!

Neeko · 13/12/2009 09:17

Hi all.
I was feeling really well but had my swine flu jag yesterday and it's left me feeling rubbish. I didn't sleep well due to the pain in my arm and it's left me feeling like I'm coming down with a cold. Still glad I had it though.
Hope everyone else is starting to feel a bit better. I'll be 26 weeks on Tuesday - 3rd trimester, here I come!

rumpleteaser · 13/12/2009 16:29

I think it's a good thing we're all ill now - we'll be feeling better at Christmas and we can enjoy it more - ie.. stuff ourselves with chocolate and mince pies and turkeys!

flybynight · 13/12/2009 16:37

Hi there

Had my scan last week - I didn't find out the sex. But everything is good and healthy. I was pleased as I'd had a "reduced foetal movemenr" scare earlier in the week and the GP had sent me to the hospital. All they did was use the doppler, which was what I asked the GP to do in the first place...

Swine flu is taking ages to clear away. I feel so under the weather and I am doing too much. Two of my children have December birthdays, so I've been doing parties, corporate entertaining with my husband, driving all over Yorkshire on on a daily basis it seems. Blah, blah, blah.

What chance a restful Christmas, do you think?

pillia78 · 13/12/2009 17:37

Hi neeko I had the exact same thing after my swine flu jab and felt lousy for a couple of days but pleased I had it now. Have been having really nasty dreams the last few nights and also had really bad hip pain so have to keep turning over in bed, pity me!!!

Bettymum · 14/12/2009 11:27

Hello all,
Well I was hospitalised yesterday with severe abdominal pains after spending a lovely morning at the Winchester Farmers and Christmas markets (highly recommend if you live near there!) and then being in so much pain on the way home I was gripping the car door handle and sobbing. Felt awful.
They suspect gastro enteritis, but baby seems fine and I am a lot better today, got discharged this morning. This bug has been dragging on and on, hopefully it's on its way out now. My husband reckons I'm doing too much too - it's just that time of year though isn't it?
Hope everyone else is feeling better today!

Mistymoo · 14/12/2009 11:54

Glad your feeling better Bettymum. Hope you get a chance to rest this week. Take care

Chynah · 14/12/2009 11:58

Had my first midwife appointment and got to hear baby's hb, it was really nice.
everything is ok though im getting refer to physio to prevent SPD. i think it is coming back due to weight gain and me holding DS too much (and commuting)

Welcome Chynah!!

Wednesday i start my 3 weeks holidays!!! lots of shopping thursday/friday, DS xmas party at nursery on friday and then off to france and italy!

Toady · 14/12/2009 20:23

Hello all

Welcome Chynah

Just had my swine flu jab after weeks of saying yes, no, yes, no. My 3 year old DS has been really poorly with a cough, took him to hospital on Friday with suspected pnemonia, it was only a chest infection and we were sent home with antibiotics, these have bought his temperature back to normal but her is still coughing.

Can't wait until I get a decent nights sleep.

Sounds like quite a few of us are coming down with cough, colds, flu symptons.

When we were in hospital we were surrounded by children with high temperatures and coughs.
