Spaghettina I'm not entitled to national health stuff here in Bulgaria so I'm figuring if I have to pay here and have to pay in UK as I've not lived there for ages I'd choose Uk where I will feel more comfortable and hopefully understand more!
I'm looking into paying into the voluntry contributions thing for healthcare etc so we won't have to pay too much when our child needs it. Also I might marry my partner... eeek! (The dancing chicken wedding made me all goooey!)
I'm hoping to find out what sex my bump is next week. I don't really mind, but now I kinda want a girl to even out this thread!
I've also forgotten how horrid the begining of my pregnancy was and have decided I want another kidling after this one!

Names are hard though... Somthing 'Bunglish'?!

Glad everyone's doing well, everyone seems excited and it's lovely!!

Zeeky · 18/11/2009 08:47

We're going to have a surprise too. We did with DS as well, and it really kept me going through the final stages of labour.

I am very tempted to find out this time though, as we are struggling with boys names, and everyone I know who is pregnant is finding out!

But I WILL be strong! Not got 20 week scan until 7th Dec when I will be 21 weeks, so got a while to wait. We're off to Eurodisney for a long weekend just before that, so that takes my mind off the waiting for the scan.

C1NDY · 18/11/2009 09:32

Hi All,

Just a reminder to get your £190 pounds from the government when you are 25 weeks pregnant... check out the website:-

Every little helps.

Have my scan next week Friday and am really nervous being 40 I just keep thinking the worst!

Neeko · 18/11/2009 09:37

Tostaky the baby has a mild case of something called Renal Pelvic Dilation so they'll keep me monitored. Many cases sort themselves out before birth so trying not to obsess think about it too much.

The baby visibly kicked for the 1st time last night. Could have watched it for hours

AdelaideJo I don't want to find out the gender, it feels as if there is so much pressure to have a girl (From my Mum and Granny-in-law!)as we have 2 boys and I think even if we do find out we have agreed we wouldn't tell anyone. I had my Swine Flu jab yesterday and have felt lousy since and my arm REALLY hurts, I took the day off work and spent it with DS2 and took him for a Spin in the brand new Phil and Ted's Vibe which arrived yesterday, woo hoo! Congrats Pumagirl!! Bad luck about ex but why did he go for the scan if he still doesn't want the baby??

Thanks for all your good wishes!

Am in awe of all of you who are not finding out what you're having and wanting the surprise. The suspense would be too much for me!

pillia - think he may be softening a bit as he agreed to come to the scan. You never know.

tostaky - well, he says I'm not the girl for him and therefore doesn't want the baby either. Only told me that after I told him I was pg though! So it could be anything in my opinion .... me, responsibility, change of lifestyle, commitment - list is endless really.

Anyway, I'm trying to be calm and open and all that in the hope that he will want to have some kind of contact with the baby. It's for her really. Time will tell!

Next hurdle in the Puma calendar - swine flu jab on Monday. Not entirely happy about having it but hope it's the right thing to do.

thedollshouse · 19/11/2009 10:42

Is that it?

I have just spent 10 minutes typing that and all I get is t.

I will post again soon.

thedollshouse · 19/11/2009 10:43

And now the message 't' has gone too! What is going on with me today?

thedollshouse · 19/11/2009 10:55

A shortened version of my earlier post as I really don't have the energy to type it all again.

Turns out ds has Chicken Pox not swine flu and we are both exhausted from the sleepless nights. I feel really sad for ds he is being a brave little soldier but is in a lot of pain.

I have my scan on Monday, I have a sneaky suspicion that the baby might be a girl but dh said it is another boy. I don't mind a girl would be lovely as it means I get to do the whole girl thing and read her Malory Towers but equally a boy would be lovely too as it means ds gets to have a sibling of the same sex. As long as it is a healthy baby I don't mind. I have been worried because of an off the cuff remark that the doctor made at the private scan we had at 16 weeks. She said "Oh the baby obviously takes after its mummy as it has short legs" I have been thinking that the baby has stunted growth or dwarfism or something but dh said she would never make a joke of something so serious. Dh thinks I need to seriously get a grip as my health anxieties have been spiraling out of control in this pregnancy. I just keep thinking that if the baby was a little on the short side (I am 5.2) this wouldn't be enough to show on the scan, would it? Surely she would only have noticed if the baby was very very short.

I think dh is right I must get a grip, last night I had the most horrendous dream about losing the baby and being diagnosed with terminal cancer. My erotic dreams have turned into nightmares now. I think it is a mixture of the anxieties I have had over this pregnancy and worrying about ds the past couple of weeks. What I really need is a bloody huge glass of Pinot Grigio that would sort me out!

katgod · 19/11/2009 11:15

Good morning all have been lurking for a while as too busy to post but find myself with a spare half hour so have added myeself in on the list below. Have DS 5 and DD 3 already, he is cool about it, she keeps asking why I am fat and does not fully get it.
Have worrying signs of the start of SPD which I had last time but had conveniently forgotten about before became pg, had I remembered it may have put me off having another one. Ah well, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Good luck to all, scan not til 10/12, won't find out sex as believe that there are very few suprises in life, and the anticipation helps to get through the labour

Bettymum · 19/11/2009 11:19

Oh thedollshouse, your poor DS (and you for not getting any sleep).
at the short legs comment! My midwife commented throughout my pg with DD that she had long legs, she does - when she was born she was like a little long thin beanpole. I'm only 5'5", so who knows how tall she'll end up. My legs aren't that long. I would try not to read too much into it, but what a strange and rather rude comment.
Sorry to hear about your bad dreams, I was having awful ones but they seem to have stopped now thank goodness.
Why don't you have a small glass of Pinot Grigio with dinner, maybe it would help?

nicnacinoonoo · 19/11/2009 12:30

dollshouse at least your ds will now have had the chicken pox over and done with befoe the new baby arrives. im very glad my ds has already had it. also great for them to have it before they start school so they dont need any time off.
try not to worry about the short legs comment like your dh said they wouldnt make a joke out of it if there was anything to it. also it could be nothing to do with height some people have shorter legs than their body and some have longer its perfectly natural. im quite small (5,4) but i have long legs in comparison to my body as does my ds. its a nightmare buying pants for ds as he is very slim so by the time they fit him around the waist they are way too short in the leg.

had our scan today and they think its a girl. if anyone wants to swop a load of boys clothes for girls let me know as i have kept all of ds's clothes. she wasnt entirely certain but she said she definitely couldnt see any boy bits and there was a line of dots which is often what you see with girls.

tostaky · 19/11/2009 14:41

Congrats Nicnac!
We are still a little bit short of girls on this thread...
My scan is tomorrow, cant wait!!!!

dollhouse the midwife said my DS had big feet at the 20 wk scan and he turned out with completly normal feet. they are just average... Also you cant detect dwarfism before a child turn 2-3 years old. Relax...!!

welcome katdog

Anyone else has cravings? I am not sure if it is proper pregnancy cravings or just plain greediness but i keep eating mince pies!! Never seem to be enough of them!

AdelaideJo · 19/11/2009 14:53

Cravings? Hell yes.

I've just done in the last 10 minutes:

2 x small 'sweet cigarettes' (little kids sweety boxes) - not sure why as I'm not a smoker so wasn't using them as any kind of placebo!

1 x packed of kiddy sweet love hearts (large size)

1 x doorstep of shop-bought carrot cake.

Am craving sweets this week. Last week it was crisps, salt, crisps, salt, crisps...and more salt.

I think you are craving the mincemeat, yes tostaky.

ilovesprouts · 19/11/2009 15:52

hi my dd is due on april 30th please can you add her find out what sex ie on dec 17th

thedollshouse · 19/11/2009 16:59

Welcome Katdog - Sorry to hear about the possibility of SPD.

Thanks for all your messages, I'm feeling a little more relaxed now. I have been so neurotic this pregnancy, its crazy . I wasn't like this at all first time round.

We do need some more pink ones on the list don't we? I am secretly hoping that ours will be pink. I told dh the other week that I was secretly hoping we will have a girl and he made me feel very guilty. Whatever we have will be lovely but a girl would provide a lovely balance.

C1NDY · 20/11/2009 10:01

Dwayne The grant has been around for a while but of course they don't advertise it... £190 should come in handy especially to buy some new maternity clothes

Being 40 for me is not a problem at all but being 40 and carrying a baby makes me worry. I know I shouldn't but your placed in a high risk group and goush it just makes you worry. I will feel better once next week scan comes and goes and everything is fine.

I wish I had taken your take on not getting the Down's test although everything is fine it wasn't a great number. I am not sure what the triple test is and whether I will be having it. I have a scan next week to check for anomlies (sorry for the spelling!). Depending on what they see we may go private for more scans if necessary. I already suffered two miscarriages so do not want to go for invasive tests as I don't want to lose this one. I have a DD aged 3 and last time round I had so much more energy! Just so glad that I am carrying over the winter months as the summer would have been so unbearable.

tostaky · 20/11/2009 12:03

After having my whole belly covered in gel, I am please to report that I am adding to the blue side!!!!
dollhouse with so many boys on this thread, we def need more girls!! I was hoping it would be me but nope...
we went three so maybe the next one (already planning OPKs, "girls diet" and other obscure old wives methods!!)
DP is a bit disappointed but we are happy nonetheless. baby is perfectly fine as far as they could tell too!

ilovesprout have added you DD

thighsmadeofcheddar · 20/11/2009 15:38

Hi all,

Sorry to have not been around, I've been suffering these insane migranes and been not very with it. Anyway, they seem to have passed now. Doctor gave me some very strong (but safe!) tablets and they worked well.

Is anyone else MASSIVE??? I think it must be because this is second time around for me but I'm very worried I'm too big. It's not all over, just in the bump but we have SO long to go.

My scan is next week on Wednesday. Not sure if we will find out..

Have a lovely weekend, I'm going to Manchester to visit friends which I'm very happy about.

lineky · 20/11/2009 17:10

Hi all, just back from sacn and resisted the temptation to find out the sex. I have to go back for another one next week as sproglet was not very cooperative and they couldn't see face or all of placenta to get all the measurements done - what they could see was all hunky dory though. Can't say I am disappointed having to go back - I get to see bub again!

AdelaideJo · 20/11/2009 18:10

thighs my bump is humungous. I'm out of pair #1 of maternity jeans and into pair #2. Just this morning i thought "how can this be only 18 weeks?".

Like you its so far just boobers and bump but I feel like people might be thinking i'm going to have a giant baby!
DP insists I looked like this last time though and DS was a weeny 6lb 2, so maybe we just put all the bulk on early?

The only downside is that my legs are constantly aching and painful, I have one really bad varicosed leg which looks like a road map but the other is normal!?!
I don't think i'm mean't to be this heavy - i'm no skinny minnie but my legs most certainly do not appreciate pregnancy weight!

lineky well done! I think about it all the time and i know its hard to resist but quite fun all the same!

Toady · 20/11/2009 20:59

Hi everyone, hope everybody is doing well, have been reading all your news, just not had much time to post lately.

Am coming up to 18 weeks, (17 weeks according to my dates) and not had any movement yet, am trying not to worry yet as cannot really remember when I felt the previous three move. Anyone else the same?? Just need a little bit of reassurance.
