Evening all

Just a quick hello from me ... and my new laptop! Hoorah, finally feel human again and no more fighting with DD for the pc!

Re waters (whoever asked!!) - both my previous labours have started with them breaking and both have been quite a gush, although you can kind of squeeze a little to hold it in whilst you wobble to the loo To be honest, I won't know what to do if this one doesn't start with waters

Have never seen a plug in either of mine.

Off to bed now but will catch up tomorrow.

Good luck wizzy

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 13/10/2009 22:37

ninja i have a dh who does all the cooking too, and also do not have a microwave. Ours broke a few months back and we have not around to replacing it. We did not realise quite how much electricity it was using...we also do not have an electric kettle - we have a le crueset hob kettle, whistle and all! - got about 4 months ago too, and our electricity bill if £50 cheaper this quarter and not just because of our alleged summer, but like for like against last year much cheaper (actual not estimate bill). Gas only up by about £10, although will be much heigher soon as we have had heating on too much .

We are going to replace the microwave, but only as its easy to reheat things for us all with a newborn. I have not missed it these last few months at all.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 13/10/2009 22:38

Meant t say also wizzy good luck! I hope things either progress or ease up for you

LissyGlitter · 13/10/2009 22:56

wizzy ooh, I feel really wimpy now for considering not coming for coffee just because of backache! That makes me extra determined to come along!

Although you might be busy pushing by the time we meet - good luck!

Comma2 · 14/10/2009 00:10

Laugs, I am sooo excited about going to bed at night! I take my lapbook and a book and something to drink (and my nasal spray) and fall in there...so nice...

maman2tom · 14/10/2009 07:12

Hi everyone just a quick post to say I'm still here and still waiting but i'm finding i difficult to post as I feal so dreadful. Think my body has been stocking up on BH over the last 2 months in bed and i'm having them all in one go now. Basically from about 5pm onwards i'm in agony my bump is rock hard and coupled with migraines and nausea! Great fun!

I've def gone overboard on the freezer cooking. My freezer needs a warning notice as dp risks having his foot broken my falling lumps of chilli!

Good luck wizzy

helips · 14/10/2009 07:36

Oooh, good luck Wizzy hope things aren't too drawn out for you. Maman poor you, get some rest and hopefully things will either settle down or start happening for you.

I only have 1 dish in the freezer so far, am going to make a huge spag bol today to go in there too. How long do these things last in the freezer? is it 3 months?

Back still sore, meant to be seeing midwife this morning but noticed on her facebook statement that she has someone in early labour so am wondering if she'll cancel me.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 14/10/2009 07:48

helips you have your MW on face book? now that is living in the modern world

Morning all. Been up since 3am. Slept between 5am and 6am then dd woke up. DH still asleep. As usual.

Combination of DH snoring, DD waking me up, heating on, needing a wee and the bloody cats not being locked out the room so jumping over me to wke me up.

wizzy hope things speed up for you soon xx

Ninjacat · 14/10/2009 07:53

I'm sat here trying to ride out ds's illness and not to go into blind panic. Temp, snotty nose, cough, sore throat, aching all over... sound familiar?
I have to film today and just want to be here to look after him . I don't think it matters how old they get you still worry about them.

OP posts:
PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 14/10/2009 07:55

maman sorry to had to run as DD is being a terror, had to go rescue the cats from her . I meant to say, sorry things are slow for you too. Helips talks sense - rest as much as you can.

Thinking of you both.

And also of those losing plugs, having other pains that suggest imminent babies

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 14/10/2009 07:57

ninja oh dear, poor thing, sound horrible for both him and you. Are you staying home with him? He's a bit old for cbeebies isn't he . Is there anyone around who could pop out and grab a movie from the shops for him? Are there any sites that download films for a feee, like an online blockbusters? Hope he starts feeling better soon x

Ninjacat · 14/10/2009 07:58

Pav x-posted. sorry you're having such interrupted sleep. I said to my mw I was not sleeping much and she said "you know you won't sleep much when the babies here?". Not exactly the sympathy I was after

Pav xx posted. Dp is home with ds today. Ds is reading at the moment curled up under a blanket on the sofa. He's quite good at entertaining himself. He did ask if he could rent a film so might do that for him this evening.

Grr. DH is meant to be going to dentist with dd. I made the appt last week after he kept fogetting to do it for weeks. I cannot remember it was 9am or 10am but think 9am. I asked him to call them yesterday to find out.

Just woke him up with a cuppa said he needs to get up now 'why?' was the response well apart from it being a week day you have the dentist with DD

b'ut we don't what time it is' was his response so, because he does not know what time it is, he is just going to lay in bed and miss it?

I am annoyed with him tbh, about this and other stuff.

BeckyBendyLegs · 14/10/2009 08:13

Ah Ninjacat your poor DS. It's so hard when they are ill

DH is ill and the weird thing is I realise that I've been ill too without even noticing it! I was moaning on here on Sunday and Monday about having no appetite and being so tired and sleeping 11 hours at night and in fact it was worse than that I was feeling sick as well and couldn't face food at all but at the time just put it down to pregnancy. Well this morning I woke up STARVING hungry for the first time in days and raring to go and DH is moaning that he feels sick, really tired, no appetite! Of course he has taken the day off sick being the man he is. I expect he'll bring the duvet downstairs soon and put on the Godfather trilology and monopolise the TV all day...sigh. Ill men! Who'd have them?

How are you today Wizzy? This sounds very exciting. You might be next to pop me thinks!

Last night I went to see my friend who'd had the huge baby in hospital. Her little girl is HUGE but soooo cute. I had a cuddle, although there wasn't much room on my bump and my baby started kicking the poor baby like mad!

Laugs · 14/10/2009 08:20

wizzy wow, we are honoured! At least the RVI is nearby if things suddenly get exciting... Can you imagine the sight of our 3 massive bumps rolling up in the maternity assessment unit?

ninja your poor DS, he's really been through the mill hasn't he? I'm glad your DP can be there to look after him.

Oh, my DH does cook and is under strict instruction that the meals I've made for the freezer are for the twice a week he's at college and I have to cope alone until 9pm. He just found out yesterday his next exam is early December. Great! Last time he spent weeks revising. Don't know how that is going to happen.

Good morning,

Thinking of you WizziWoo Ninja hope it?s not flu! And thank you so much! The CD was waiting for me when I got home last night. But after waiting for my groceries being delivered between 10-11pm I actually fell asleep before the CD could make a peep! Will put it on tonight though. Don?t think I will be as lucky as to get 2 nights of decent sleep!

My cold is still here and I think ds and dh are coming down with it too!

Kyte poor you. I do hope he does surprise you with little something! I sympathise. My dh is rubbish at birthdays/Christmas/anniversaries and surprises altogether and not even because of money but because he can?t be asked!

I am jealous of all of you cooking and nesting! I want to be cleaning. Actually I want to feel the need for cleaning! Does that make sense? I just don?t feel like I am nesting at all. Got the cot out of attic at the weekend and made dh to put it together but only because I am almost 38 weeks so feels like I should rather than I wanted it. I don?t think this baby is coming any time soon. Shh do you think she knows I haven?t finished the bag or the birth plan yet? Or cleaned the carrycot for the buggy etc?

I wish everyone could have a pain free day!

Trikken · 14/10/2009 09:07

morning all, slept ok last night apart from having to get up 4 times to use the loo. luckily where ds spent the day with his nana and grandad yesterday he stayed over last night too, so I wasnt constantly waking him up with my getting up.

how is everyone doing this morning?

Koumak · 14/10/2009 09:07

Can you please remind me to do those pelvic floor exercises? I am rubbish at remembering those.
Squeeze!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 14/10/2009 09:54

Eeeewyuck, just threw up . Probably having a 'proper' coffee as opposed to a cup of floor sweepings that did it. T'was horrendous. I really want to go back to bed. But the builders are due any moment, so firstly I don't want to go to bed and have them think we are out, walk in on me, and secondly, they are working right outside the bedroom door, so they will be drilling, banging general noise making, and they need to put a fire door on my room yet, that might be today as well.

To top it off, the sun is extremely bright through our non-curtained smeary front room windows, shining right in my face, so no dozing on the sofa either. I am not sure if sun through clean windows is better or worse than sun through grimey ones...but it certainly shows the filfth...must get them cleaned this week...

BeckyBendyLegs · 14/10/2009 10:01

Pavlov

skorpion · 14/10/2009 10:23

Morning! Well, I think the lurgy is doing the rounds, I feel awful. Always starts with sinuses for me, my head feels heavy and my nose is blocked (attractive mouth-breather look is in this season, no?). Yuck, only tomorrow to go to work, but what bloody timing!

pavlov - yuck, too. Sorry, you're not well, can you go out for a nice walk and forget about the windows?

kyte - sorry about your morning.

koumak - pull in... hold... hold... release... Repeat.

Stormfly · 14/10/2009 10:29

pavlov - hope you find somewhere to curl up and rest. ninja - hope your ds makes short work of his virus. And kyte - that spraying business is exactly the sort of thing likely to set me snapping at dh. Maybe it's a bloke thing where DIY stuff and chemicals all seem natural in their world. I remember being furious with dh when he started spraying deodorant in the bedroom where newborn ds (born the previous evening) was sleeping. To me it seemed completely, blindingly obvious that you don't spray stuff around with a little set of newborn lungs beside you. He seemed surprised to be shouted at...

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 14/10/2009 10:32

skorpion sorry you feel awful too, there seems to be a lot of stuff going around, its not great for us all timing wise to be having babies at the change of season when germs seem to be on the up. I hope it is not too bad today and you can manage with work.

I would love to have a walk, but I feel a bit rubbish and my back is sore, feel a bit breathless. So I am sat here propped up with my lovely new v-pillow which I got for a bargain £6.99 at Dullm Mill yesterday (its a Hogarty one, so nice and solid, not too fluffy, and got a pillow case for £2.99 too!). The cat was unwell on my last one and it unstitched in the wash. It is actually helping loads, I just can't see the computer screen well as its so bright and the windows are seriously pissing me off!

We paid to get them cleaned a couple of time (1st floor), but he charged us £5 for one bay window and one window next to it! He also does the lady's downstairs and charges her a fiver too (he might charge a bit less as she is very old), but he gets a LOT of money to clean only the front of a house, so I will get DH to borrow a friend's ladder and do it. Eventually, or I might pay for it just before the inlaws arrive .

kyte Grr on behalf of you at your DH! You need a little something done for your birthday, whether your family are celebrating or not with you, he is your DH! Its not about money its about effort and thought. Well done for kicking him up the backside, I hope your day improves.
