I have cleaned so very much today, and am very satisfied!! I normally detest cleaning - so maybe this is nesting, or maybe I'm kicking into Being A Mother mode instead of Teenager

Done the bathroom and the kitchen... Two lots of washing, three loads of dishes, sorted the cupboards, cleaned the oven, all the tiles in the flat... DP came home and I was scrubbing the hob singing to the Corrs. I'm cool!!

We have ordered Famous Moes for dinner yum yum!!!

I can't get in or out of the bath without help or whimpering. At home I have a bath support to help me get in and out, and here DP half lifts me, bless him. Shame I'm so fat right now

Several major Braxton Hicks tonight. crosses fingers

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 23/10/2009 19:58

erica ooooh on the cleaning mission! i get stressed at any dirt right now, which means a lot of stress as we have a messy house right now and i cant keep on top of it!

But i have packed my bag though, almost! i just need flipflops, change, charged camera and straws! Not bad for just past 36 weeks, for me!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 23/10/2009 19:59

i always spell your name wrong erika, sorry luv!

ErikaMaye · 23/10/2009 20:02

Its alright - am used to it now Everyone always spells it wrong!

Ninjacat · 23/10/2009 22:18

I must step away from the e-bay. Just bought Molo babygrow for £10. Wish I could remember we are skint.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 23/10/2009 23:00

ninjacat i do that too. I get all caught up in a bid, win, pay then go 'oh shit, yes, we have no money to buy stuff...oops' and then justify it to myself by reminding myself how much it would have cost new!

I have not heard of those though, will have to go check it out...

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 23/10/2009 23:16

ladies. Please, talk to me about thrush...does it come on suddenly? what are the symptoms?

ErikaMaye · 24/10/2009 06:29

Pavlov hope this is of some help to you.

scarlotti · 24/10/2009 08:33

pav I've had it off and on now for months. Mine doesn't have that strong symptoms and no real pain/itchyness. I just swell up down there and get more of a dishcharge which smells stronger and is slightly more coloured than normal (sorry if tmi!)
Doc gives me a prescription dose of Canesten which comes in a funny tampon looking thing, which you squirt up inside. It's 10% strength so is one dose. Works well I find.
You can buy cream over the counter but that tends to be 2% strength.

If you have it, then they suggest washing towels and also treating your DP/H (ha ha ha ha, like mine has got anywhere near me recently!!!!!) in case of re-infection.

Very common in pg as it's yeast bacteria that live there happily normally, but hormones can upset the balance and trigger thrush.

You have my sympathies, mine has come back again

Trikken · 24/10/2009 09:01

for those of you whose waters have broken naturally, can you feel it when it goes?

Koumak · 24/10/2009 09:09

Morning all,

all the talk about cleaning is passing my ears, nope, still no urge here. Sure the weekly lot gets done here regularly, sadly not by me!
I am keen to get through the laundry today so maybe there is a hope for me.

Skorpion your night sounded lovely. I went to bed with ds. Well I was supposed to read him a story but don?t think I got round doing it and we both fell asleep in our bed so dh spent the night on the sofa! Not sure why he just didn?t move ds to his own bed. Dh was really sweet this morning and gave ds his milk and put DVD on before he left for work so I got 2 extra hours in bed! Which sadly means I can?t really use TV as distraction for the rest of the day!

Pavlov thrush is pretty normal in pregnancy. I had it once already and now have caneston at the ready. You can get it free from you gp on prescription don?t buy it from chemist as it is rather expensive.

I have been spending a lot of time on eBay too but not buy anything really yet. I am very new to it though so have been watching what things are going for before I start bidding. I am sure the spending will start soon.

It?s raining here today so not sure what we?ll be doing. It?s just me and ds today, have a swimming lesson in an hour and than probably be baking or something on this grey day.

Have a great weekend everyone. I wonder if we?ll have some new babies when I log on Monday?

Koumak · 24/10/2009 09:11

xposted Trikken have yours? Mine never went until induction so can't help.

ursigurke · 24/10/2009 09:12

Good morning ladies! I'm finally back online at home so I'll be able to keep up with you.
Yesterday, we went to a very nice Chinese restaurant with husband's colleagues. Probably the last chance to wear my nice IO dress and I felt very pretty... well more or less. But the reaction of my husband when he saw me, was definitely positive, he really liked what he saw even though I'm not exactly skinny-with-huge-bump anymore. So that was really nice. And luckily he did not pay attention to all those marks coming through from huge knickers and pregnancy tights going over the bump
And I'm proud to say that I still manage to get out of the bath by myself. But I sometimes really have problems to get out of bed, especially in the morning when my hands are really swollen and pushing myself up gets painful.
Well, I hope everybody can enjoy a nice weekend with their family with not too much work involved and a bit more sunshine than I can see right now.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 24/10/2009 09:13

trikken not always. I did not. When i went into labour with DD, I woke up at around 5am needing to go to the loo, and bed was very very slightly wet and I recall thinking 'typical, get this far and now suddenly suffering from incontinence!' i went to the toilet, then about 5 mins later, realised i was leaking a very little, went again, then realised it could not be wee as I had emptied my bladder! I put a pad on, and it soaked within a couple of hours, not a huge gush, constant but minimal. I went to hosp who confirmed waters had broken and was sent home, and the fluid continued to leak in this manner until i went into proper labour that afternoon.

Sometimes it can be a huge pop and a gush, or a pop and not much, or a gush without a pop.

ursigurke · 24/10/2009 09:15

Trikken, xposted too. So have they? I can't help as it's my first pregnancy but I've heard that it is either in one go (so you would definitely feel that I guess) or slowly but as far as I understood it would be obvious too as it smells differently to urine.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 24/10/2009 09:17

Thanks for thrush info ladies - not had it before, so not sure. Not vaginal though (sorry tmi in the morning) more labia location, but apart from that symptoms seem the same. I will go see GP on monday. I wonder if it had anything to do with the lush stuff i have been bought as a babyshower present

skorpion hope you managed to get out of the bath...or are you still in it?

pav that's where mine always strikes so I'd say it is.

Laugs · 24/10/2009 10:19

Pavlov It could well be from the Lush products. I went to the doctor a few years ago with recurrent thrush and she said before she put me forward for any more tests, to check I wasn't doing any of the obvious things which women apparently should never do ( I didn't know this and I think the beauty industry would be suffering a bit more if everyone did):
Use any kind of perfumed shower gel or soap products down below
In fact, don't use soap at all - it should be ph balanced shower gel
Don't use perfumed or soap products in the bath
Don't wash your hair in the bath

Also, only wear cotton knickers and wash your towels and treat DH after any bout of thrush.

When I started doing these things my 'recurrent' thrush disappeared, so I do stick to it now, even though it means no lovely luxurious bubble baths.

How's it going Trikken?

Laugs · 24/10/2009 10:20

Oops, can you tell I got interrupted mid-post? I meant don't use perfumed shower gel or soap

Trikken · 24/10/2009 10:28

To fill you in, and its waaaay tmi, but dh and i managed to do the deed this morning, and he stopped me halfway through to tell me he was worried my waters had gone as he could feel liquid trickling, I couldnt feel anything out of the ordinary but the bed was definately wet, and it def wasnt his. So ive put a pad on just in case but is still bone dry, so am thinking it wasnt. sorry for the tmi.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 24/10/2009 10:39

trikken oh how annoying! i wonder what happened? I wonder if he will want some more action? I am taking it you did not carry on? .

laugs i do wash my hair in the bath rinse it with the shower, but in the bath water - and I love bubble bath. I only normally use bath salts or something such as radox and I have always been fine, but third trimester is quite normal for thrush so probably increased the risk...shall stop all of that for now

Laugs · 24/10/2009 10:45

pavlov yeah it's only a few weeks to do without isn't it? (I'm glad I'm not the only woman who didn't know this!)

trikken that must be very frustrating. Also, you're not supposed to have sex if your waters might have broken due to infection, so should probably hold out just in case. Although I guess the mood might have gone by now...

VenusInfers · 24/10/2009 10:48

Morning All!

Hobnob thanks for your experiences of late-engaging baby. My midwife doesn't seem to be worried, so have decided I won't be either. There is def. no waddling, and my bump is still straight out, so don't think he's shifted down at all yet.

Koumak glad I'm not alone in my e-bay addiction! I've just bought one of those glider chairs secondhand for £45. Sat in one in John Lewis, and loved it but there was no way we could afford it new. Just have to go pick it up.

ErikaMaye · 24/10/2009 11:15

Ohhh I didn't know about washing your hair in the bath... That's the only thing I've done differently recently as DP only has a hand held shower head, so its just easier in the bath. Maybe that's what's caused it
