Morning all

Erika I should have come downstairs earlier then - have been awake on and off since 3am too!

Have had my first bout of contractions I think - but they seemed to last too long to be real ones. Huge tightening and like intense period pains that lasted for a good 15/20 mins around my back and lower bump. Had them from about 3am to about 5:30. Bump is still quite hard now but no real pains. Muscles in my bum cheeks ache though - what's that all about?!
DS is at nursery today so was hoping to get through more stuff on my list but not sure whether that will happen now. Think I might try and catch up on the sleep I lost...

Meant to say about nursing bras ... you can get fitted around the 36 week mark (am sure a few days won't matter) and they should allow for what stage you're at. Mine came out a cup size bigger than my maternity bras. Whilst you don't have to buy expensive ones, bear in mind that you will be washing them often as they will get leakages on them and sour milk is nasty!!
Mine cost £38 and is the same brand as my maternity ones (Anita) - oh, and is underwired as I just look like saggy mono boob without wires. I have washed my maternity bras constantly throughout pg as I only have 2, and they are still as good as new so I will be eBaying them.
Don't underestimate how much better you will feel with a decent bra after, when you're so tired etc. that it's all you can do to shower and dress. A well fitted bra will give you good shape ... so at least you'll look like a fit 'dragged through a hedge backwards' mummy!!

Nothing to report here really. Another Monday. DD is off nursery on a Monday, so I normally try to have something planned, but today my mind is a blank. I think it'll be the park and library (both within a 5 minute walk from home) as anything else - including staying in - seems too much effort.

Thanks for the bra advice Scarlotti - just had M&S ones in the past - may treat myself!

Felt really ill and miserabe yesterday, thought I was coming down with smething, but had good nights sleep last night and though not 100% feel alot better.

DH went out to walk the dog, came back an hour later and announced i'd dropped - not sure if I have, not very good at seeing these things, but def feeling alot easier to breath etc and had no heart burn last night, so maybe I have. Wondering about dates too, as I am measuring 2 wks big and at the initial scan they moved us back by nearly 3 wks, so could be further on than we think.

Am also going to try and concentrate on Christmas rather than baby this week, have the DCs all sorted, wrapped and in loft (that's the presents not the actual DCs!) but need to get grandparents, great grandparents, neices, nephews, DH etc. Have loads of ideas for DH, but all so bloomin expensive!

Morning all! - god, Monday again, how did that happen??

Thanks for all the kind messages on Friday. Made it through the funeral in one piece, just - although had a couple of hours of contractions that evening when I was on my own - gave myself a bit of a scare but it all came to nought. It was a horriby sad day, but all we can do it just get on, and now focus on the impending arrival.

Saw my midwife and after poking and prodding for a while she said things are "quite imminent." DH freaked out a bit, but I have suggested it's probably one of those catch-all phrases that mean "could be this week, might not be for 4 weeks, so don't be surprised either way"...or am I just in denial? Maybe I should finish packing my bags.

Hope it's not today though, as still have four more days of work. Apparently the head is very low though and fixed in the pelvis, so maybe next week??? And if one more person tells me, oh there's no way you'll go another 2 1/2 weeks, I may scream

Anyhoo, hope everyone feeling ok and we get a new arrival on the thread soon -as long as its not mine just yet! xx

Morning ladies, Well I'm still here and on the list. I forgot to add myself last week.

I'm sure we'll have a sudden boom of babies being born in the next week or so. Some of our dates are very close together.

Slept like a baby last night. Sorry for those who have had early mornings or sleepless nights I wonder how long my good sleep run will last for

Not sure what to do today. DS normally needs a trip out somewhere, so maybe the library. I am dreading half term next week. I've roped in MIL for a day and DH is taking some time off.

Sorry forgot who asked about obsessions, mine is hoovering the house and scrubbing my kitchen sink!! The sink obsession was the same when pg with DS.

I'm supposed to take a group to Alton Towers on Saturday. DP says he's putting his foot down and that I'm doing too much I'm sure he is just concerned but it's not a good idea to tell me I cant do any thing - unfortunately I think he might be right. How do I pull out without him thinking it's because he told me too?

Consultants appointment this afternoon, am having to go by myself as everyone is busy. Going to speak to them about SPD as am worried about going overdue, I don't think I can cope with a possible six more weeks of this!!
