Kyte - just made your cookies - lush!! made double the amount as have a family meal tonight (just making curries) but thought they's be great for afterwards, can't believe how many of them I've got!!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 16/10/2009 14:22

Oh I just made cookies! I don't think they were as nice as yours were though! They were a bit dry...but DD loves them. I think perhaps I have too much of a savoury tooth right now...

southernbelle77 · 16/10/2009 14:26

Kind of pleased I'm not the only one that has eaten loads today! I started off with some toast, then a couple of hours later some cereal, then, at 10.20am some Ben & Jerrys ice cream , then some mini chedders and then a poached egg sandwich for lunch! I feel like such a pig writing it all down!! How on earth I have only put on under 1 and a half stone I don't know! Possibly put on another 1 and a half stone this morning alone!

Fruit - I've been getting that pressure too, for the last couple of days. It feels like I constantly need to go for a pooh (sorry TMI!!) but then can't! Keep thinking maybe my waters are going to pop, but as with everything else, that's just wishful thinking!!

I went back to bed for an hour earlier which was nice! And DD is having a sleepover with the in-laws tonight so mil is collecting her from school and then bringing her back here to collect her things and I can give her a kiss and a cuddle! It will be sooooooo nice not actually having to get up at the crack of dawn in the morning! Of course, no doubt I will be awake anyway, but at least I can just try and get back to sleep rather than having to get up and watch Sabrina the teenage witch animated series and Winx Club, lol!!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 16/10/2009 14:28

I just phoned to talk to gp and spoke to receptionist, i made a joke about it being over a week since i spoke to her as she knows me by name and she said she was wondering how I was doing and felt like she had lost an old friend - then laughed, and asked if I was keeping ok, how was bump and how was DD oh dear, not a good sign eh?

helips · 16/10/2009 14:31

tabby thinking of you today and your family. Hope your dh is ok, such a tough time for you all, hugs.

tamlin sorry to hear about the acupuncture, hopefully baby will turn of it's own accord. If not, another positive note re cs, at least you will have some time just you and the baby in hospital. That is one thing I remember fondly when I had my cs for ds, just staring at him in his plastic crib, just the 2 of us in a little room, he was so gorgeous. Whatever happens as long as your little one arrives safely and is healthy that is all you can ask for.

Well, after ignoring dh's phonecalls this morning I finally rung him back. He says he is mortified by his behaviour, that it will never happen again, he will make it up to me, blah blah blah. In my hormonal state I got a bit teary on the phone and told him how unimportant he has made me feel getting drunk with his mates and turning off his phone when I could give birth at any time. I also pointed out that yesterday afternoon he said to me 'what kind of asshole do you think I am that would go out and get drunk with my 8 month pregnant wife at home?" mmm, no comment! Anyway, says he will be the model husband now, will look after me and do whatever I want, any ideas ladies?

southernbelle77 · 16/10/2009 14:31

I'm just starting on the pineapple now! God I have to stop eating! At least is healthy and might have a purpose, lol!

LOL at the receptionist Pavlov!!!

Trikken · 16/10/2009 14:32

southernbelle definately TMI here, but i must have been for about 6 'dailys' yesterday, and even more the day before. but am constantly off to wee, feel like I need a nappy.

Trikken · 16/10/2009 14:34

was disappointed yesterday, waited til dh got home for him to cut my pineapple and it was all brown and yucky inside!! will have to get dh to pick another one up, a really fresh one off todays delivery if poss.

Trikken · 16/10/2009 14:49

helips could give him your worst chore, toilet cleaning for example, or make him give you a back massage and pedicure?

longwayaway · 16/10/2009 14:56

Just read on BBC.co.uk that swine flu jabs will be starting in the next week or two: news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8309217.stm

Fruitpastels · 16/10/2009 15:14

Glad to hear there are a couple of us that are feeling the pressure down below. I feel a bit better this afternoon, but can't walk very far without feeling my insides are gone to drop out - sorry! Trikken I think I'll make a camp in our downstairs WC as I'm a frequent visitor at all hours of the day and night.

DS has come out of pre-school with a runny nose. We've only just got over a bout of colds and I'm on my last day of antibiotics for my chest. I'm hoping it will keep at bay.

ErikaMaye · 16/10/2009 15:27

Pavlov awww you've made a fwiend!!!

Mmm... Quavers. I wish people would stop eating them - they're mine

DP has got the spare key from his friend so next week is all go. Am feeling better already, knowing I'll be out of here for a while. Though have just remembered that I have a consultants appointment on Monday afternoon... That could complicate things slightly... Sure its do-able though, have been up before by myself, just not from DPs.

Did anyone watch / follow the webchat with the PM? Am kinda annoyed at myself for thinking it would be anything other than a soundbite from the PPB. sighs Ah well. At least we know he has solar pannels!!

southernbelle77 · 16/10/2009 15:56

I just spent a couple of hours reading the PM thread Erika and can safely say that I am sooooo disappointed in the lack of any real answers to the questions that he did respond to but worse was that he only answered about 5 questions. What a complete waste of time!

Koumak · 16/10/2009 15:59

hobnob I was told they only do the sweep at 41 weeks not 40! As apparently there is no point in doing it earlier as they don?t work before then? I had a few sweeps when pregnant with ds and to be honest I don?t think they worked but I didn?t know half the things I know now so I was quite trusting in what they told me and I think even though the induction worked with just pessary and didn?t have to go on a drip last time I would probably go to labour naturally the day after the induction anyway. I am also worried that ds was born at 9lb and this one is looking even bigger!

ursi I think I too had as many gp as mw appointments so will probably book myself with my gp for weekly visits to play it safe. But secretly hoping I won?t need any and will go miracoulsy into labour this weekend!

The labour is bound to happen either tonight? UNLIKELY! As dh is ill and going out later on (he hasn?t been out for ages so really deserves it though)! So is either going to be drugged on some cold/flu medication and painkillers or drunk or both! Or on Nov - 3 the only day when I have no childcare for ds! But to be honest either day is fine by me as long as its not 2 weeks late!

I am joining the club of the top right of bump pain. It?s been like that for weeks. Really tender spot can?t even touch it. What?s that all about?

southernbelle it?s me the other pig! In addition to the list earlier I also had some pitta and german salami sandwiches with butter and 2 apples and I wonder what to have when I get home from work as taking ds to school disco tonight and cant possibly last till 9pm!

And one stone? I have put on at least 4 and I know exactly where it all went. In my thighs and bum. Not pretty. I will be sorry post birth when I won?t be able to look at myself in the mirror still this image is not coming up when I see/eat food now!

Koumak · 16/10/2009 16:02

or should that be miraculously

and just trying out the new smileys
can you tell how busy i have been at work today?

southernbelle77 · 16/10/2009 16:14

Oh god, this baby either really loves or really pineapple! Since I ate it, my stomach has not stopped moving!!

Koumak - dh wants a take away tonight (to celebrate having a child free evening ) but I'm not sure by then I will be able to eat anything else!! I honestly don't know how I haven't put on any weight. The midwife was a bit concerned a while ago about it, but given that when I had my scan last week at just short of 35 weeks the baby was weighing in at 5ib 14oz it's clearly not an issue! I put on A LOT more with dd and never really lost it! Hoping after this one (and once the spd has finally cleared up) I can get in some sort of shape and actually get into some nice clothes!

southernbelle77 · 16/10/2009 16:14

that should say...

'either really loves or really hates pineapple'

hobnob57 · 16/10/2009 16:46

koumak when I saw the consultant midwife this week she arranged for me to have a 40 week sweep. I was 14 days overdue before I was induced last time and had had 2 sweeps then. She said I'm very likely to be overdue again and since I so want to have a VBAC and avoid induction she suggested it. Not sure it'll help, but I'll try anything!

I'm beginning to remember the discomfort of trying out all these labour-inducing remedies from last time after southernbelle's pineapple experience. For me, they all got things a bit more exciteable in there, set of these almighty braxtons, the pressure on the cervix thing, the breathlessness and weirdness that goes with it all, and all to no avail for me. She was just far too comfy in there. Or the alternative theory is that my pelvis just wasn't very welcoming - but I'm not thinking about that possibility until it becomes apparent again with this one!

weston · 16/10/2009 16:51

why am i still in denial about being pregnant at 36 weeks..honestly would be really shocked if went into labour any time soon..and find it really strange that people on this thread have already started having babies...anyone else feel vaguely like this or do i need therapy?! it is my second so not sure if that makes a difference...

Laugs · 16/10/2009 17:06

weston me too. I am 34+ weeks. I am starting to feel like I'm on the wrong thread with all these babies arriving or almost. I am doing my best for life to carry on as normal, and then wonder why I am completely exhausting myself. The thought of packing a hospital bag or such like makes me , yet even DH, who is beyond laidback in these matters, asked me yesterday if he should start taking a hospital bag with him to work.
It's my 2nd too.

Laugs · 16/10/2009 17:08

erika/ southern I was going to trawl through the 800+ posts on the Gordon Brown thread, but it sounds like I shouldn't bother. What a shame, but to be expected I guess.

Trikken · 16/10/2009 17:14

i wouldnt, he didnt answer a lot of important questions, its a shame he didnt answer more.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 16/10/2009 18:06

Our loft is finished . Apart from painting, of course. Which will take forever and ever and ever. And of course the issues around some of the things that did not go according to the plans, but we cannot change those. What we have, it is what we have got and now we can start preparing for the painting, then moving up there. We are moving up there, unfortunately. I would prefer not go up there, but DH is quite insistent. But YEY! its finally done! And finished as well as it could be, with a fab builder.

southernbelle77 · 16/10/2009 18:11

Oh Pavlov I'm so pleased for you! I hope you get it all sorted (both the painting and the business with the dreadful builders) without too much more stress!

I've done hardly anything today and feel a bit guilty! I've spent nearly all day on the computer or in bed!! I did get the clean washing in and fold it (and have left it downstairs!) so dh can see I have done something, lol!

ErikaMaye · 16/10/2009 18:17

I wouldn't bother, Laugs - though I was interested to hear that he's going to see Up!!!

Loving these new smilies...

Pavlov that's great news, am chuffed for you
