Meant to say I am tempted to try in December and if I don't get pg then leave it until next year.

sod your mil!! dd1 was 6lbs13 and dd2 8lbs7 and i wasnt big i hadnt lost al the baby weight from dd1.
subsequent babies are meant to bigger.

hi diege

hi ses - your journey sounds long!!
shame about bringing up feeds hopefully he will settle

cantmummyhaveabreak · 20/10/2009 12:59

Kay- dont listen to your MIL- i was bigger than i am now when i was pg with DD1 (same size as when PG with DD2) and she was 1.5lb smaller than DS was. It's not got a lot to do with your weight really... I mean you're not 'obese' or anything.

DD2 had her follow-up hearing test today, she shouldn't have had it till her 'corrected' age so not for another 2mths but she passed it no problem- my thoughts is because she's such a nosey little monkey!!

Got the dryer we had made an offer on yesterday- it's brill!! Still £290 in curry's etc but only cost us £60 for a 12mth old one, hardly used- only sold it because they got a washer/dryer and needed the space!!

Now hoping to get a tv for the living room which ends this evening.

Have a busy afternoon planned but doubt it'll get done- have more washing still to do, have to do loads of ironing, have to wash the pots and clean the kitchen, have to hoover upstairs- wish we never went away now- haha!!

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 20/10/2009 14:11

Kay - your MIL is one of a kind!

Diege - thanks. He's just had another feed and so far this one is staying put.

Can't - well done on your bargain of a dryer!

I'm just off shopping. That well known chain of chemists that I work for has it's annual staff double discount day so I'm likely to spend a fortune. Normally we get 22.5% off on brand and 12.5% off everything else so with double that today I'll be getting loads of nappies, wipes, next size vests, make up, toiletries and a few Christmas presents!

O is definitely having a bad gums day. I can see a different texture on his top gum where one of his top teeth will come. His cry is really angry and the chomping is non stop. Fortunately he's just fallen asleep.

DH has just told me we need to leave at 6am tomorrow. I'm so not looking forward to the journey. I get sea sick so I'm hoping for a calm crossing.

Diege · 20/10/2009 14:45

Good advice from the wagon about babies and weight KAYZ! Yes, have a try in Dec, but I defy you to stop once you've started
Discount sounds great KAYZ . Tomorrow's early start not so.
J's jabs went fine, though am worrying about something I saw on his electronic notes
Have started a thread under children's health, so any advice appreciated! (can;t do links but it's entitled 'red reflex absent...'

Diege · 20/10/2009 14:46

Sorry, ref to discount/early start meant for SES

tinkbig · 20/10/2009 15:46

ye for discounts always good

i would start trying in dec too kay.

GYo · 20/10/2009 16:25

Hi everyone

Congratulations IDOB, lovely name and what a big girl. Hope you are both doing well. Enjoy the early days as much as you can as it flies by so fast

Cant- glad you had a good time at Disney. Had a peek at your pictures on FB, looks fab

Hi Ses- enjoy the trip to Ireland. Hope the sea is calm for you, I hate boats too. I find my accupressure bands from pregnancy really good though.

Sorry I've not posted about the meetup in reading, will try and do that on the FB page ASAP.

Im meeting Gruff tomorrow so will talk to her about it too.

I've got loads I want to squeeze in before going back to work in 2 months

Thanks for everyone who posted about my nursery issues. I am now much happier, think it was just a random collection of things that really spooked me. DD seems to like it which is the main thing.

Kayz- do I read that you are TTC again!!!??

Bit about what the HV said.

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 20/10/2009 17:48

Hi! Just back from shopping. Bill was £360 but after special offers and discount I only paid £194!!

GYo - I've packed my travelbands! Say hi to Gruff.

Diege - I'll try and have a look at your thread later.

IDOBisamummy · 20/10/2009 18:51

Hi all,

just a quick update. DP and I are loving these first few days at home with Caitlin but at the same time it's really hard isn't it!

After a fantastic first night Caitlin then decided she would only sleep on DP or I (and not for long even then) and as neither of us are comfortable sleeping with her in our bed we just finished up not sleeping at all. By yesterday I was totally exhausted and just wanted to cry all day so we finally got tough with her last night and put her in her moses basket at 10 and just patted her until she fell asleep. I felt really mean listening to her cry, she was only 5 days old, but it actually just took 10min and for the rest of the night she slept for 3-4 hrs at a time and went back in the moses basket without much fuss after each feed - hooray . We stayed in bed till 9 and I feel like a new woman today and we have both spent all day cuddling her and enjoying her so much more. She really is just gorgeous .

She is feeding well - she was weighed yesterday and has dropped to 8lb 7oz but after the c-section and a couple of days throwing up mucus that was to be expected and no-one is worried. The only prob is I don't latch her on well and I am getting really sore so will have to ask my midwife for some help positioning her.

Glad you enjoyed your hols Can't.

Tink - is ses out-shopping you?

Kayz - I don't think the weight matters too much as long as you eat healthily during the pregnancy. Go for it!

STT - looking forward to hearing your news and I hope you avoided the c-section.

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 20/10/2009 19:36

IDOB - great to hear from you. You sound like you're doing really well and the summary of those first few days of loving it but really hard is spot on and brought back lots of gooey memories for me. I'm so pleased for you

I might well be out shopping tink. As my JoJo Maman Bebe order arrived today too. Nearly £200! However for that I got a high chair, waterproof polar fleece buggy cosy, polar fleece hat, wipeable floor mat and table mat, waterproof polar fleece allinone suit and a long sleeved bib! Anyone would think I'm gearing up for winter weaning!

GYo · 20/10/2009 22:57

Good shopping Ses! you sound well sorted!

Great to hear from you IDOB. Hope I didnt cause offence by saying big girl... was a compliment (mine was nearly 11 lbs so she really was big!)

Diege - wil look at your thread!

Kayzr · 21/10/2009 06:24

Morning,

GYo, we aren't TTC yet. As much as I want to we are going to wait until next year.

I was talking to someone on here yesterday and she was put off ttc#4 as Flame(a mner) had a 9lb 9oz DD. Weight doesn't put me off anymore after having a 10lb 5oz baby!!

I am having my hair cut short on Friday. I can't wait to get it done. Then I am having it dyed purple. I hate my long hair, it drives me round the bend.

Hope everyone is well.

tinkbig · 21/10/2009 09:05

GruffaloSoldier · 21/10/2009 09:22

Good morning everyone!

GC slept for 13 hours last night, I on the other hand slept for an hour

My BF had a baby girl on Monday, weighing 6lb! Going to see her this evening. We have been BF's since we were 13 y.old.

Ses - That does sound like a big shop you did there! Yikes!

Kayz - hair sounds good. I def need a hair cut! Last time was new year and the time before that 2 years!!

IDOB - great to hear from you. sounds like you are doing wonderfully. Lots of girls being born at the mo, or is it just me??

Tink - sounds like you will have a peaceful-ish half term

Cant - Nice to have you back.

Right - just putting GC down for a nap and going to try and get some sleep myself. Lets hope he sleeps for longer than 20 mins which is his usual amount for mid morning. Harrumph!

tinkbig · 21/10/2009 11:21

anyone heard from sparkly? getting worried

hi gruff

Starshinetiger · 21/10/2009 11:59

Morning All. Was just wondering about Sparkly myself Tink - hope all is okay and they are just all totally in baby happy land.

Gruff - sorry for poor night's sleep. Glad GC slept so well (although very )! Expect stress with your Mum must be taking its toll.

Can see I'm going to have to boycott this thread on Mondays until I've had a chance to watch my V+ Xfactor results show if you're all going to gab about it first thing We were away on the weekend and I don't get a chance to watch any telly until the children are in bed, was doing so well not hearing the result until I came on here...
I thought Cheryl and Whitney were both good, but think Whitney was definitely on something and was very American!!!

Right, can't remember anything else and need to get veggies on for lunch.

Sending good vibes Sparkly's way...

cantmummyhaveabreak · 21/10/2009 12:23

STT text me about an hour ago, she said 'Baby boy born yesterday at 10.50 after induction started on sunday and ended in EMCS. Weighs in at 8lb and looks just like his big brother. However, Had some breathing problems after birth and has been transferred to another hospital with better facilities, i should be transferring there later today.Am expressing in the meantime and desperately hoping we'll still be able to BF.x'

GYo · 21/10/2009 13:40

Moosy · 21/10/2009 19:28

Congratulations STT, I hope everything's sorted soon and you can get home, and can't wait for photos/BS

Would anybody like to help us me choose a name for this poor nameless baby? It's getting close now (I'm next - eek!) and we haven't settled on one yet.

Saw the MW today and although I'm still measuring big for dates I haven't gone any higher on the chart (centile line thingies) so no extra scan for me ( I like scans) She said that if I've moved up the lines at 37 weeks then she'll send me for one but at the moment she thinks it's just a bit on the big side without being ginormous!

Kayzr · 21/10/2009 20:01

Congratulation STT! Hope you are home soon!!
