No rain here, just really really cooooooold. Finding it hard to keep my bump warm as nothing really fits round anymore, although Diege, the wrap cardigan is proving invaluable!

I feel like the baby's 'dropped' in the last couple of days, I'm not so pointy strange looking and I have more pressure and gunk when I stand up. I got a bit panicked the other day and started getting organised as I've realised it could happen any day now (although I'll probably go overdue, but who knows!). Packed my hospital bag today in case I have to go in but it seems really empty so hopefully I won't need it!

essenceofSES · 06/11/2009 19:31

Moos - sounds good! Can't wait for minimoos to join us

tink - glad you enjoyed This Is It. Thought you would!

Pre-DS I would prefer to stay in but now I much prefer to go out. We go to Jo Jingles on a Tues, either Baby Cafe or Post natal group reunion on Wed and Bumps&Babes on Thurs. I usually try and get out to either the shops or my parents on Mon and Fri. Also go for walks with the buggy sometimes. My mum always comments that she doesn't know how I manage to do everything. I respond by saying I wouldn't manage if I didn't do it all!

IDOBisamummy · 06/11/2009 21:59

Hi all,

I have been reading all your posts but never seem to find the time to write anything. We are all getting on well here, DD is still being very good. She sleeps really well at night but is getting more alert during the day - DP and I are both fascinated watching her. We had a trip out to the 'baby viewing' at the cinema this week which was great then had lunch with the girls from NCT. It was the first time I had fed DD in public but she had 1 feed in the cinema and 2 in the pub so I'm feeling more confident now. We will def be going back and I'm hoping to start swimming lessons soon. I keep meaning to make it to Bumps and Babes on a Tuesday but the weather has been awful and I can't drive yet and it's a long walk. We do get out and walk in the park every day though.

Moos - all sounds good! Do you have a syndicate yet?

Diege - can't believe how difficult your buyers are being . I hope you get it sorted soon.

Lightening - congrats on passing your driving test.

Kayz - hope you are feeling better. Sounds like your work are being crap just now , hope you get it sorted soon.

Tink - how do you fit shopping between all those groups, I am very impressed! What is Jolly babies?

Ses - that's great for your friend. Glad your mums op went well.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 07/11/2009 09:27

Morning- been pretty hectic here as have just started DD2 on full meals. Before the last few days she was only on 2 meals a day with it being either breakfast or lunch... now i've started her on full meals in an attempt to get her sleeping better. It isn't really working- but she's enjoying the food....

I think i'm just gonna have to start getting tough on the sleep front. She's definately old enough and big enough now to sleep through- i'm sure of that.

Lightening/Diege- Preston/manchester.... not sure if i can make it really... may be able to come along for a browse and some lunch.... but really, really dont need to buy anything else for xmas so wont be spending (though of course buying for myself is something different all together) however, DH is buying me some firetrap boots on payday, plus we need to pay for Ds's birthday party too.... though i can only make the 21st... if you are planning to make the trip before then dont worry about me though. I'll tag along if i can make the date you're going, and won't if i can't.

tinkisthrillerthrillernight · 07/11/2009 10:05

have a good day people

i buy bits on net
off to mums for fireworks

Kayzr · 07/11/2009 13:51

Hello.

Been up since 4am here. DS2 thought it would be a good time to get up. We ignored him until about 4:45 and then he started to really scream so DH got up with him. I couldn't get back to sleep so ended up getting up before 5.

I seriously hope I get some sleep when we go to London on Friday. I have a horrible feeling I'll still wake up early. Though I could watch the sun rise over London. I do love London, not sure if I could live there but I do often wish we lived much closer.

Hope you are all well.

Hello! Just a quickie as dd3's birthday is in full flow
Can't do 21st CANT/LIGHTNING as dd1 has a gym competition. Could do week after though if that's any good?
KAYZ, am very of your London trip. I love the place and could easily live there (I think) though that's based on a few work trips. Love the business of the place and the general buzz.
Right go as they have the painting stuff out and I have to be nice...

essenceofSES · 07/11/2009 17:08

Hi!

Happy Birthday to your DD3 Diege!!

Tink - enjoy your fireworks!

Met up with one of the mums from the May09 thread this morning which was lovely. We've been "chatting" for over a year and only live about a 15-20min drive away!

We had our playpen arrive yesterday. I never thought I'd have one but O has got so mobile that I just can't leave him for 2 seconds. DH put it together last night and was telling O it was a jail. It can open up so as to block off one end of the room (to avoid the marble fire place and coffee table!)

DH is in Cardiff today for the rugby and back tomorrow lunchtime. I have a couple of friends coming over this evening about 7.30pm so hope O is asleep (and stays asleep!) by then. He's been rolling and commando crawling all over the place today and only had about 30mins of sleep so he should be ok...

Kayzr · 07/11/2009 17:15

Diege, hope dd3 has a good birthday. Send happy birthday wishes to her for us please.

I would like to live close enough to London that I could go whenever I wanted like I did while growing up. But I don't think I could live in central London. I do love the buzz of the place too.

I have hurt my arm somehow. DH thinks it is RSI from playing on the computer last night. But if he will buy me The Sims 3 then what does he expect really?

OP posts:
essenceofSES · 07/11/2009 17:19

Kay - hope your arm's not too bad. The Sims is something that I've never played (worried it'll be too addictive!)
London is great. I think I'm quite lucky as a fast train gets me into London Victoria in 25mins. Should really go more often....

cantmummyhaveabreak · 07/11/2009 18:51

i'm getting tough with DD2 tonight. Have decided to refuse feeds between her dream feed and about 6am.

Night 1- wish me luck!!

Kayzr · 07/11/2009 19:11

Ses, The Sims is really addictive. I had all of the orginal one, all of sims 2 and now getting sims 3.

Cant, Good luck with DD2. Hope it all goes well.

I've got a young persons railcard for this trip to London so it is cheaper so I'm going to try and go down again before Xmas. We're planning a 1st birthday Dec 08 meet up and I would love to go and meet them all.

Hope everyone is well. I am very very happy as Arsenal are winning 4-0 and there is still 10 minutes to go!!

Starshinetiger · 07/11/2009 19:56

Can't - good luck for tonight. I'm too much of a softie to have got that far with DD yet - she's 8 months next week and 16lbs, but she's still not great on food (loves finger foods, but gets bored easily and we've tried purees, but not managing to progress much past fruit and veggie ones, 'cos she won't take the texture of the protein ones. Am going to make a chicken casserole this week and then really make a very thin puree of some of it for DD, as she would have had tonnes of my chicken casserole soup tonight (but it was a tin, so I was worried about salt content)... ah well, was blessed with a good eater and good sleeper with DS (although he didn't sleep through until 6 months and then only to 5.30am and I thought that was bad - 'twas nothing to DD ). Ah well, hope you fair well with DD2 and she complies

IDOB - sounds like you are taking to motherhood like a duck to water! So glad you are enjoying life with DD and sounds like she is an "angel" baby too! Am very impressed at how much you are getting out and about in these early weeks - all credit to you!

Kayz - hope you have a great time in London.

Tink - enjoy fireworks. Hope DDs like them.

Diege - birthday congrats to DD3 from Star household. Hope you survived the party.

Lightning - congrats on passing your driving test. Glad you are settling in okay to your new house and DS1 is settling into his new school.

Right - am watching Strictly while on here too. Now about to focus on X Factor!

Diege · 08/11/2009 09:19

Morning! Hope the night went well CANT! Have started reducing ds's dream feed here as he's not interested in milk at 7am. Cut down to 3ozs last night which he drank but again only took a few ounces this morning. I think I could probably drop it entirely, but will take the softly softly approach for now!
Good to hear from you STAR! Probbaly sacrilege if you're into homemade purees but some of the 4 mth jars (Hipp organic) have chicken in them and are very very smooth - may get her used to the idea of a different taste before trying more textured home made ones? I have to admit to being very lazy this time round and am relying almost 100% on jars. Will then move to him eating what everyone else is having rather than progressing up the jars to lumps etc once he's past the purree stage.
DD3 had a good birthday yesterday, thanks for your good wishes everyone Just have to do it all again next Sunday with dd2!! A proper playbarn party next week for her - must get presents sorted!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 08/11/2009 09:25

night 1 went like this........

7pm: put to bed as usual.
9.30pm: Dream-feed when i went to bed.
4am: wakes and cries for 5mins, mummy gives dummy and blanket and still moans for 10mins before falling back to sleep.
7.15am: wakes for morning feed, fed back to sleep.
8.30am: Finally wakes enough for breakfast!!!

WUHOO!!!! i got tonnes of sleep for once!! I mean even if i'd fed her at 4am that would have been the best amount of sleep i'd have ever got from her, but the fact that she slept after only 15mins of moaning proves she doesn't need it!!

I'm gonna do the same routine today, including a mashed up sunday roast for tea with a yoghurt for tea.

SST- DD2 is only 13lb (ish) according to my wii fit. But i just know she's ready to go through the night... as last night proves!!

tinkisthrillerthrillernight · 08/11/2009 09:34

morning

star and diege - i am using 100% jars 2 bracken is on the 4-6 mnths ones not keen on lumps. have baby spagetti that i add into them every now and again.

we had a great time @ my parents dds didnt like fireworks some were 2 noisy!!

cant - sounds good

diege gald dd3 had a good bday

essenceofSES · 08/11/2009 09:56

Can't - that's fantastic!! Well done you and well done R

BLW day here in the Ses household DH is due back fromt he rugby at lunchtime so I'm cooking roast pork for this afternoon and will give DS some carrot and broccoli and see what he does with it. I'm not expecting much but we'll see.

His sleep has been awful this week and I've been so tired that I've been bringing him into bed around midnight most nights. I'm sure there's a third tooth on it's way. We did have a slightly better night last night though and he did 2 three hour stints...

cantmummyhaveabreak · 08/11/2009 15:23

wow- it's very quiet on here!!

DD2 had a nice big bowl of porridge for breakfast, had a whole mashed banana and fed herself a biscotti (yes- she's actually managing finger foods on her own now!!) and she will be having tea and pudding before a feed and bed tonight- just hoping she's as good tonight as she was last night!!

she's now sat playing happily in her activity centre. she seems much happier today for a good nights sleep and lots of food- i think she's 'growing up'....

essenceofSES · 08/11/2009 17:27

Well we tried carrot and broccoli and a sippy beaker of water. DS didn't seem v sure of any of it and I'm not sure much (if any) of it went down. He seemed to think the beaker was just a teething toy for chewing on.
However DH and I had fun!
Day one, we'll try again tomorrow!

Cant - sounds v impressive from DD2. How well is she sitting as O is still struggling to sit up properly and tends to slouch forwards.

Kay - saw your post on FB, well done DS2

cantmummyhaveabreak · 08/11/2009 18:00

Ses- she's getting much better recently. She's getting much more baance but is still leaning forwards. I dont think it'll be long though- i dont think we're gonna get rolling over as she hates being on her front!!

essenceofSES · 08/11/2009 18:09

I think the rolling is O's problem! He just won't stop! I think sitting still seems quite boring compared with playing with his toes or rolling across the room!

tinkisthrillerthrillernight · 08/11/2009 18:58

ses - blw sounds fun;0)
cant u r doing great

bracken is constantly moving she drags herself along the floor then sits up

Starshinetiger · 08/11/2009 20:35

Ses - DD was not keen on sitting until last week or so. Before that she was rolling at 3.5 months, crawling at 6.5 months, but only started sitting (albeit still not for long) at just over 7.5 months - now I can sit her down on the floor and then she'll go off crawling, but she can get herself sitting again to play with something. They all do things in different orders!

essenceofSES · 08/11/2009 20:39

Hello tink!

Star - sounds similar to the way O is going. The other NCT mums look at him in amazement at how he moves round a room but I look in amazement at the 2 babies in the group that are sitting Like you say, all wonderfully different

Fireworks have just started again round here. Hope O stays asleep. He's managed over an hour so far...

Here's wishing us all good nights!

Starshinetiger · 08/11/2009 21:02

OMG - What is Simon Cowell on?! Diege - hope this has seriously dented your designs on him

How could he allow the option for them to stay and Lucie to go?!

Grrr... hope my irate-ness dies down before I head to bed, or it might stop me sleeping (oh no, DD will probably do that
