it is mad how quickly time has gone..iw roked out b4 my scan will be when im 21wks so where has the time gone as we r nearly in july and its beginning og august with ds at this stage i felt very pg but like u dq this time its still surreal despite going through the motions of looking at prams etc.

dramaqueen72 · 27/06/2005 15:15

um, brain in pg mode, no idea whos scan it was. but am hoping they have a great one. glad being (almost)half way made you happy. scares me silly!LOL!

Nemo1977 · 27/06/2005 15:15

it was starry night

dramaqueen72 · 27/06/2005 15:16

thats exactly it nemo - i am going thro the motions, REALLY want to feel this little guy kicking. hurry up little guy!

sweetheart · 27/06/2005 15:18

yes - half way to the labour ward is a sobering thought!!!

Nemo1977 · 27/06/2005 15:18

do u think the thing about heartrate indicating sex works...ds was always around 138-146 every midwife check. someone told me higher means a girl and lower is a boy

sweetheart · 27/06/2005 15:19

I have been laying quietly alot just waiting to feel this one moving!!! Really wish it would hurry up and happen!!

Nemo1977 · 27/06/2005 15:20

sometimes i think i can feel kicks etc like this morning i thought so and when i put doppler where i thought baby was there...however other times i have no idea

goldenoldie · 27/06/2005 15:24

Sweet - snap - my 20 week scan booked for the 20 July too!

Nemo1977 · 27/06/2005 15:28

it seems strange we r only few weeks from 20wk scans beginning....esp since i found out at 3.5 wks so its gone quick

dramaqueen72 · 27/06/2005 15:32

nemo, yes apparently 9 times outa ten the heartbeat is right -however my midwives disagree on quite how -one says its the rate in labour monitoring that shows it, another says its an overall reading of several months worth of readings......personally -as i am a sucker for all old wives tales (being old wife myself) last time it read mostly high and indeed had dd2! this time its usually lower so suspect ds2!

Nemo1977 · 27/06/2005 15:34

mmm so if this baby is around 146-151 usually then could be a girl?

dramaqueen72 · 27/06/2005 15:35

nope, i'd say boy from that just to confuse everything further

dramaqueen72 · 27/06/2005 15:36

of course it could be a girl -i'd say a 50/50 chance

sweetheart · 27/06/2005 15:38

golden, was it you who was local to me??? Spooky - we could see each other at the hospital!!!

Nemo1977 · 27/06/2005 15:40

pmsl thanks DQ I actually think its another boy so if so its joshua..lol

dramaqueen72 · 27/06/2005 15:47

Mollie -dd2- was always up in the 150-160's, this little guy is usually 143-152 so i think i had better stop looking up girls names and concentrate on boys!

goldenoldie · 27/06/2005 15:51

Sweet - I'm in London - where are you?

Heartbeats - my midwife recons it's about 70% accurate - so I must be having two girls.

sweetheart · 27/06/2005 15:54

north east hampshire

Someone was really close to me - next town.

Was it you DQ???

MINNIE1 · 27/06/2005 16:17

When do you start to feel movement, from 14 or 16 wks??

Nemo1977 · 27/06/2005 16:18

minnie everyone is different i felt wiht ds at about 17wks but my friend wasnt feel anything till 21.

starrynight · 27/06/2005 16:21

Hi guys, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Had the scan this morning and they bought my due date forward (yippee) so am due on Dec 20th and will be 15 weeks tomorrow. Feel like i've been given a week and a half 'free' lol.

The baby was moving like anything and have a couple of good piccies. Told the children who are surprisingly happy (little do they know [evil laugh] )

starrynight · 27/06/2005 16:21

Does this mean we can start a new thread now?

ninah · 27/06/2005 16:22

BTW its only one! (phew).

And if it makes anyone feel better - apparently if you are super fit and toned like the woman in that picture labour and birth is more difficult. Can't remember why but it gives those of us who do sod all exercise a little light relief. LOL.
