DQ go here for your branch (they have their own website which is why they prob. didn't list on main website. Their next NNS is in Oct and they have a toy sale in Nov! In fact they look like a v.active branch (I know there is an active teaching group there - so good for classes )

Nemo - I don't know where you live...but unless outer hebrides you prob. have a local branch.

starrynight · 25/06/2005 20:25

Sorry - NNS Nearly New Sale. I shock myself sometimes

Nemo1977 · 25/06/2005 20:25

starrynight am in liverpool and i know there is a branch but not heard anything from central office about info pack...

starrynight · 25/06/2005 20:30

nemo, HQ are very often not the place to get info..unfortunately :-( You are better off calling directly to the branch. Had a quick look and North Liverpool seems an active branch - is that you?

starrynight · 25/06/2005 20:34

here for branches in your region as I don't know the area very well. As you can see, some are better represented than others.

Are you a 'proper' scouse then?

Nemo1977 · 25/06/2005 20:35

lol well i am from liverpool but dont have a brookside accent

starrynight · 25/06/2005 20:37

I lived in St Helens til I was 4 so my mum has a strong accent but not at all brookside (thank god!) She does say grass rather than grarss and bath rather than barth though, no matter how we have tried to convert her!

Nemo1977 · 25/06/2005 20:38

lol starrynight i am actually not far from st helens..live in knowsley so on edge of liverpool but next rd is liverpool iyswim

starrynight · 25/06/2005 20:41

I was just up there for my grandads 80th birthday (first time since I was 4). Only overnight so no opinions formed, i'm afraid... any of those links any good to you?

starrynight · 25/06/2005 20:42

North Liverpool NCT Family Picnic, Ainsdale Woods
Date: Sunday 3rd July 2005
Time: 11.30am
Venue: Meet Freshfield Station
Contact: Liz on 0151 476 4211

This looks good if its anywhere near you?

Nemo1977 · 25/06/2005 20:43

ainsdale is drivable but no good for every week...i think the liverpool one covers south liverpool which is better for me.

starrynight · 25/06/2005 20:45

A bit lacking in info, the liverpool one isn't it. Still, you are more likely to get info from the local contact (shame its just an email) than from HQ. Also, give the North Liverpool contact a call if no joy as they can normally fill you in on local branch info and whats going on in your area.

starrynight · 25/06/2005 20:46

And it could still be an active branch, but they haven't updated the national website. (we didn't realise that til a couple of years ago!)

starrynight · 25/06/2005 20:51

Anyway I better stop wandering about the internet and go do something constructive... chocolate or ice cream???

Bonkerz · 25/06/2005 23:02

HI all, not a good day today for me. Got up full of energy and ended up moving furniture and cleaning all the bedrooms upstairs then taking a whole load of stuff to tip, that completely wiped me out.
Had a headache all afternoon and tried to sleep it off, ended up being violently sick at 5pm and got out of bed an hour ago and was sick again! Just eaten 4 packets of crisps which is still the only thing i can eat successfully withour feeling sick and am trying to regain some fluids by drinking lucozade.
Despite having atleast 4 hours sleep today im off to bed again!! Nemo i too have no energy by lunch time!!

goldenoldie · 26/06/2005 08:42

Starry - thanks - great link.

Anyone else plannng to start maternity leave at 28 weeks?

dramaqueen72 · 26/06/2005 10:41

starry my link doesnt work please could you try again? i would love to go to the sales
hope everyones okay this morning, bonkerz I'm so sorry youre sick, poor you. if its any consolation I'm frequently dizzy and feel abit strange, not nice.

george32 · 26/06/2005 14:23

Hi all,
Sorry, don't know why, but just not keeping up at the moment. My boss is away next week so should have plenty of time at work to catch up properly
Bonkerz & Nemo, sorry you are both feeling so tired & poorly. Hope you get lots of rest over the weekend.
Bonkerz, fantastic news on your scan

I have the exciting job of painting fences today so having an extended break before I fall over with exhaustion. Might have to give up & watch the tennis instead. Off to Wimbledon on Thursday. I'm very excited as I've not been before.

Hope everyone is having a nice day.

dramaqueen72 · 26/06/2005 14:27

hey george, hope youre okay -not too many paint fumes around you please! (excellent reason to watch the tennis then....) hows that bump doing? I hope you get more time to chat next week then, -missing your views/input.
today we went to look at what we thought we wanted for a double buggy and it was all wrong so back to depressing squaer one, -honestly buggies for two are all about compromise one way or another. envy anyone who gets to just chose nice single one!

george32 · 26/06/2005 14:44

Thanks DQ.
The bump is still very much "fat" looking rather than "bump" shaped. Don't mind so much now I have some clothes I can wear. When do we start with the toilet paper measuring then? (You did say something about measuring with toilet paper didn't you? It wasn't just one of my weird dreams again? )

Grrrr, just put on the telly to sit down & watch some tennis & it's not on. Think it's a rest day. What about my rest day??? What excuse can I use now for lying on the sofa for the rest of the afternoon?

starrynight · 26/06/2005 17:57

Sorry DQ - a random 'z' in the web address? Hope this works.

starrynight · 26/06/2005 17:59

And this is good for comparing pregnancy bellies at different weeks!!lol

starrynight · 26/06/2005 17:59

Just scroll down that page and click on the weeks you want then see if any of the bellies match yours!

starrynight · 26/06/2005 18:03

DQ if you don't need the double for long then I would definately recommend getting it at a Nearly New Sale or secondhand.

When my youngest two were 12.5 months and newborn I had a graco double side by side and it lasted til the eldest was walking (about 3+). In fact it was smashed up twice on planes and we went out and bought new ones. Its very slim and can fit through doors easily (apart from small ones lol) and is quite manouvreable (sp?). HTH (A friend had a tandem one where the seats were one behind another and she compared it to pushing a very heavy shopping trolley! I think our graco side by side was very good.

starrynight · 26/06/2005 18:05

In fact, here it is new and for only £68.99 and free postage!

The good things about it were that it had huge basket underneath, could lie completely flat, and one handle meant you could steer one handed v.easily. But if you like to have expensive gear then not so good!
