don't forget Minnie your present company is obliged to consider a reasonable request from you to work p-time! so you could always go back there part-time if you can agree it, and then bggr off somewhere more congenial!
yes thanks heavens, the end of a long week

No one of the workers wanted to go PT as his youngest had epilepsy and was having really bad fits..he wasnt allowed and the poor man had no choice but to leave!! So no i dont think they would offer that..

I will stay on till i find a better part time job, like you said use them and i think its the best advice i have had all day!!! I am planing on haveing alot of babies (well i try one first and see how that goes)

sweetheart · 10/06/2005 10:48

Minnie, Why don't you get maternity pay from your job?? You should be at the very least entitled to statutory maternity pay!?!?!?!?!?!

MINNIE1 · 10/06/2005 10:58

I will get state pay, but nothing from the company..

sweetheart · 10/06/2005 11:04

minnie do you mean the basic £60 a week (or whatever it is now)

Or do you mean the ssp of 90% for 6 weeks then £102.80 for 20 weeks??????

MINNIE1 · 10/06/2005 11:16

If you are employed, your weekly rate of Maternity Benefit is calculated by dividing your gross income in the relevant tax year by the number of weeks you actually worked in that year - 75% of this amount is payable weekly, subject to a minimum payment of 165.60 euro and a maximum payment of 249.00 euro. The Relevant Tax Year is the second last complete income tax year before the year in which your maternity leave starts.

This is what i would be intitaled too,

sweetheart · 10/06/2005 11:23

oh blimey that sounds complicated - I take it your not in the UK!!!!!!

MINNIE1 · 10/06/2005 11:40

No from Ireland (the lovely west) and things are just unreal in terms of work terms and condidions!

scully · 10/06/2005 12:01

That's a bit difficult to read on a friday minnie! I sympathise though, last thing you need is hassles from work, but definitely get out of them what you can and then move on if it's not working. Makes me appreciate where I am even more.......
Never thought I'd say that
Going to visit a friend with a 2wk old ds tomorrow, should remind me of everything I've forgotten since my dd got so big!

MINNIE1 · 10/06/2005 12:23

scully,
O new baby love that you will be owwing and awwing i know i do, Work and life are one big hassel at the mo!!! ha ha but i am sure i'll deal with it. I have my scan coming up on Tues so i cant wait for that.. Somthing to look forward to..

dramaqueen72 · 10/06/2005 13:23

just seen my lovely midwife and her student.they came round to me for my booking in visit. i'm so happy to be back on this pg treadmill I cant tell you. got lots of info on refresher classes and nct classes from them so thats nice for me to read thro later. they took bloods and for once i havent got a big black bruise from it
they were pretty keen for me to do a home birth btw, but i dont know about that yet. we shall see.

sweetheart · 10/06/2005 14:55

blimey it's quiet this afternoon.

Went into town at lunchtime and got grinned at by two ladies with prams I was very chuffed.

Also paid a vist to my local nursery shop to have another look at the travel system I've chosen.

The range of furniture I decided on last time round seems to have been discontinued which is a pain. I'm still going to hunt it down though.

Anyway else bored on a Friday afternoon?????

MINNIE1 · 10/06/2005 15:28

just waiting to go home and i am board silly here.. Going home and then going to vist my mum and dad..

Hope all you pregnant ladies have a wonderful wkend..

scully · 10/06/2005 16:04

yes, tired and bored. Just had a can of coke to try and wake me up a bit......the healthy option I know but fruit just wasn't going to do it today!
Just have to manage to stay awake on the 55 minute train trip home!
Have a nice weekend everyone

sweetheart · 10/06/2005 16:07

I've played minesweeper - still got 50 mins to kill though.

Sitting at a desk is really uncomfortable at the moment - my bump gets squashed from sitting forward and my back is starting to hurt - I hope it's not gonna get worse over the next 6 months!!!!

ninah · 10/06/2005 16:15

I'm still here sweetheart! 30 mins to go
Yes, I think it has to get worse ....

Hi ladies. Glad you're all oka and esp glad it all went ok for you sweetheart
I've been healthily sick in the sink this afternoon, apple turnover with cream obviously wasn't appreciated!

Just booked into the birth unit I want baby to born at and was told by the lovely midwife I spoke to I could have one2one midwife care so she'll come and see me at home for my prenatal care and when I go into labour, if I want she's offered to deliver him or her at home

Had a couple of bloods test results back and my iron and hemaglobin were both excellent.

Feeling on top of the world right now

Sending you all my love - TC x

babygibbon · 10/06/2005 17:29

Oh, so many happy pregnant ladies! And it's 5.30, time for me to head home (collecting DD from nursery on the way), yay!

truckerkaz · 10/06/2005 18:01

hello all! Beconase is the only thing that works for me, scully. this year seems to be very bad pollen wise i'm feeling a bit down as its looks like relationship number 4 isnt going anywhere and with baby on way its not good news hopefully it will change things, got everything crossed here lol

dramaqueen72 · 11/06/2005 10:14

have a good trip nemo

Bonkerz · 11/06/2005 11:16

morning all. Hhope all ok today. Have a great holiday nemo and relax!!

Am starting to feel quilty now about not eating properly. Have lost alot of weight since becoming pregnant and due to morning sickness have only been eating crisps and bread. Cant remember when i last had a piece of fruit but have made a point of drinking fresh juice(doesnt stay down long though) Also havent had much dairy produce. When pregnant with my ds i ate loads of fruit and drank 2 pints of milk a day but really cant face it with this baby. I am taking pregnancy supplements which help but im starting to feel like a bad person. I had a fresh fruit salad last night but it didnt agree with me and i have been on toilet all morning (sorry if tmi!) So i suppose the question im asking is should i force myself to eat these things and risk being even more sick or just avoid till ms gets better?

dramaqueen72 · 11/06/2005 14:24

is there something 'healthy' you can eat? salad in with your bread? green veggies with every meal? fish few times a week? i give myself a mental pat on the back everytime i manage to do so! tho i am working my way thro alot of fruit currently (nectarines esp, yum!) or try the best version of what you are eating - wholemeal bread, organic bread, lowfat/low salt crips etc....... I'm sure its not too late to make amends........plus when the sickness fades/goes( it had better do right??!!) you can eat better.
heres to that day when the sickness DOES fade, cause right now i am so sick in the mornings first thing, and by 9pm i am also sick and feeling rough. its no fun

Bonkerz · 11/06/2005 14:28

I always eat wholemeal bread and am only eating salt and shake crisps without the salt. I really try to eat well but if i deviate from crisps and bread i am so sick. Have just eaten a satsuma but feel queasy now.

dramaqueen72 · 11/06/2005 16:38

oh poor you bonkerz hang in there I'm sure something else will come along you could manage, or hopefully that sickness will fade ASAP!!! how many wks are you now? I am 12 now. gosh its taken its time getting here!
