Hello

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Den26 · 19/10/2009 20:18

Haha! Thanks Pamelat - sometimes i think i'm going crazy - completely irrational thoughts!

All feels abit strange. Myself and DP live over 100miles away from our families so its gonna be difficult i'm sure. Atleast parents wil have a little one closer by.

Getting stressed that things will go wring again (hey theres that positive thinking again!) and it will just be unbearable being around others that are pregnant - 2 girls at work are 15 weeks plus DB girlfriend. Suppose all there is is to stay positive

Anyone elses head completely mince? [hmmm]

Den26 · 19/10/2009 20:20

Ooops... Wrong not wring...see what i mean!

and not [hmmm]!!!!!!!!!

TomlinTowers · 19/10/2009 23:16

Hi everyone - sorry to all those who have had to leave, but to everyone getting positive scans.

James - we are pg twins - same scan date, same due date! How freaky is that?!

Re eating - I can't stop but then justify that I have to eat otherwise will feel sick. Wonder how long I can use that as an excuse?! So used to watching what I eat it is quite nice to give myself free rein to eat what I like apart from the forbidden stuff, obviously.

Swine flu jab - my own personal views are that it hasn't been tested enough, and I too keep thinking "thalidomide" as someone else said. But - then you hear the stories about the deaths and the effects on the unborn babies and it all goes up in the air. MIL is a consultant paediatrician so going to ask her all about it when I see her next week, she is quite a handy person to have around!

And Den - yes my head is completely mince!!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 20/10/2009 08:47

Tomlin, spooky! of course the EDD may change again after the dating scans, but I do think it'll be at least the 20th.

So tired today, been sleeping lightly and waking a lot the past few nights with ds being poorly (he coughs til he throws up) he coughs and cries every couple of hours at night and I feel half dead. He won't take his medicine, so I feel pretty helpless.

Hope you're all doing ok, glad to hear some people are gradually feeling less sick!

LittleOneMum · 20/10/2009 09:23

Hello ladies!

I am so of all you ladies with scans soon. My 12 week one is not until 9th November (when i will actually be 13 weeks!). Aaargh! still three weeks.

Anyway, I just had a really lovely 2 days: my sister is in a play in Paris, so I weny by myself (no DS, no DH) and stayed in a hotel for a night and saw her play and had dinner and shopped and just for a moment it felt like my old single life again and it was FAB! but also lovely to come back to DS and DH last night Am so bored of the sickness though that I went to see my GP this morning and have finally been given some drugs, hurray!

AnAngelWithin · 20/10/2009 09:42

hello all. welcome to the newbies. sorry to hear your news fullmoon.

still bleeding on and off here.

8+3 here and feeling lousy! Got an awful taste in my mouth and I can't touch food past 4pm.

Day to myself today. I haven't slept for 3 nights solid. I am so tired its unreal. However the house looks like a bombs gone off in it!! I really must do something useful!! I had 2 days of getting on top of the washing yesterday and sunday which feels better. Empty basket won't last for long I daresay!!

I don't know what to do about the swine flu jab either.

VivClicquot · 20/10/2009 09:43

Hi ladies

Lovely to hear about all the positive scans. The date for my booking in appointment has come through for next Wednesday but it clashes with a meeting at work that I can't really get out of unless I 'fess up to why I can't be there. So am trying to move the appt back, but don't really want to push it back too far as I'm anxious about making sure it happens before the wedding... aarrgh!

According to my bathroom scales, I haven't put on a single pound which I simply can't believe is true as quite frankly, my boobs are like basketballs. God help me at my wedding dress fitting on Friday...

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 20/10/2009 10:00

Angel I'm still bleeding on and off. Less now than before but it only takes a burst of activity or coughing etc and it still happens. I do firmly think it's a cervical erosion though, just one of those things! are you worried?

I won't be having the swine flu jab, there's no guarantee you'll get swine flu, any more than getting regular flu or any of the other nasties out there. I'd rather take my chances I think, no-one I know in real life (or extended friends etc on facebook) has had it, however I do know a pregnant lady who has had e-coli!

AnAngelWithin · 20/10/2009 10:26

yes mine seems worse when i get back from the school run etc. Any bleeding is a worry but I don't want to be constantly going to the hospital!! I'm hoping its erosion. When I had my last smear test, the doctor said she only just touched the edge of my cervix and i bled like crazy! Trouble is, now, every little twinge I'm thinking 'oh no' as I'm bleeding as well. I've got a very low stomach ache too which doesn't help.

DH has really taken to this pregnancy now bless him, so to lose it now would be devastating.

Hollyoaks · 20/10/2009 11:22

fullmoon so sorry for your loss

I haven't been on for a while as I've been in hospital with dsis as she had her dd 9 weeks early in the middle of the night last night. Glad to say both mother and baby are doing really well and baby is breathing on her own in scbu. Going in to see her this afternoon and can't wait. Its doubly special after losing her ds prematurely last year.

My booking in scan isn't until friday 13th November so think I'm the last at the moment . Good luck to all those being scanned soon

AnAngelWithin · 20/10/2009 11:37

oh hollyoaks glad all is well with your sis and niece!!! My booking scan will be somewhere about then as well, being due right at the end of the month i suppose.

VivClicquot · 20/10/2009 11:45

AnAngel and James - I'm still bleeding too. Not too much; probably once every three or four days or so, but I can't help but worry about it. I don't have any pain or cramping or anything so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it's cervical erosion and nothing more serious.

memorylapse · 20/10/2009 12:15

Hi all..Im 12 weeks today..and paranoid because they originally said I would miscarry by 12 weeks...felt horrific with sickness yesterday..then not so b ad today

DS still ill, but tbh, not as ill as I would have expected..sugery cant give me relenza as I have kidney problems and theres no way im taking tamiflu. his temp is down today and he is eating the school said that 28 children have been diagnosed with it at the school.

however I would not have the vaccine regardless..not tested enough and rushed through

AnAngelWithin · 20/10/2009 12:15

eurgh...... too much peanut butter on toast followed by worcester sauce flavoured crisps...that can't be healthy craving now can it?!?!

Hobnobfanatic · 20/10/2009 13:18

TomlinTowers - what a useful MIL! Do report back to us what she says!

sweetkitty · 20/10/2009 15:33

I was going round Asda Waitrose this morning barfing at everything, finally had a sweet and sour Pot noodle for lunch, how bad is that? DP away with work tonight so alone with the 3 DDs and feeling so rough, think I will be in bed half an hour after them.

memorylapse · 20/10/2009 15:40

I think its a case of what ever you can keep down..I swear Im going to turn into a crumpet

DH asked me to get some mince out of the freezer for tea and I was wretching just leaning into the freezer.

schipo · 20/10/2009 19:39

Re swine flu - I had my booking appt last week at a central london hospital and the midwife went to a lot of trouble to tell me that the whole thing had been completely overblown by the media and the government and that we shouldn't be any more worried about it than we would about flu any other year. I wasn't asked about a jab - I was just told to have some paracetamol to take at the first sign of any fever. I'm quite happy to take her advice!

pamelat · 20/10/2009 19:44

Hollyoaks, glad all seems well for your dsis. must have been so scary.

I had my booking in appointment today, just admin really. She couldnt take blood as my veins kept collapsing. So instead I just have bruised arms.

Worryingly she told me that there is a back log of scans and that some people arent being scanned until 16 weeks. So am 11 weeks today so I could be mid Nov! So Hollyoaks you may not be the last one.

I asked MW about swine flu jab and she pulled a sceptical face and said they were not to advise either way, but to speak to a GP.

pamelat · 20/10/2009 19:45

bet all of you very sick people are having girls (or are just unlucky). I was so sick with DD, this time, other than hungry and tired, I dont even feel pregnant.

schipo · 20/10/2009 20:04

pamelat, i'm so pleased you say that. The only nausea I had was for 5 mins one evening a week before my bfp. I am getting paranoid about being the only person on this list who isn't sick. I googled it and it doesn't seem to be necessarily all good news.

anyway, v sorry too btw for the people who have gone already

Yorky · 20/10/2009 20:06

DH is away tonight - so far both kids have been in bed 50mins and neither is asleep yet

Why won't they go to sleep so that I can!?

Am sat here eating cherry ice cream to calm raging heartburn - I refuse to believe this baby has any hair yet!

pamela - I wasn't sick with DS or DD, sorry about your theory!

Hollyoaks · 20/10/2009 21:01

From one crisis to another, found out about an hour ago that dh has written his van off on a major A road. Thankfully he has describe his injuries as cuts and bruises but I haven't seen him yet. Biting my fingernails with worry. Thankfully after seeing my tiny 3lb10oz niece shes going strong on just a little oxygen and my ds is fine.

These things come in threes though don't they! What next?

MoggMum · 20/10/2009 21:19

Yorky - lucky you , I'm still feeling sick at 10 weeks and have been for over 4 weeks now. Just hope it eases soon!

Got my scan date through today for 4th Nov - I'll be 12+3 by then. Can't wait as I want to know everything is ok! Had my booking app with MW last Friday - only took half an hour. Asked her about swine flu jab and she didn't seem keen so think I'll avoid if poss.

brightredballoon · 20/10/2009 21:52

Hollyoaks - sorry to hear that about your DH, hope he is ok. Wonderful news about your DN, do they know what causes your sister to have premature labours? Must have been a fraught time for you all, thank goodness it had a lovely outcome this time.

Re diets, I am eating loads but not doing great with fruit and veg. I am so off chocolate it is unbelievable in fact that would give me away to the people that don't know I am pregnant! I have my scan tomorrow and I'm really nervous, I wont be on until the evening but will let you know how it goes.
