memorylapse · 14/10/2009 17:05

p.s..my boiler has been fixed

tiggsy · 14/10/2009 17:24

jamesandgiantbanana hey i'm stressing about no2 as well. dd was such an easy baby but had horrific pregnancy. feeling guilty as have been neglecting her a bit as feel so rough can barely move, not going out doing things like we normally do. can't put my finger on exactly why i'm so worried but i am!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 14/10/2009 17:40

tiggsy it doesn't help that every mum of two or more I've spoken to has taken great pleasure in telling me it's double the trouble and a shock to the system etc! I'm sure it is but don't tell me now I'm feeling fragile!! lol

memorylapse · 14/10/2009 17:50

Im expecting baby number 5 ..

When I was expecting my second..I had to be hospitilised quite a bit and felt very miserable and almost resentful towards my unborn bay because I couldnt be with my DD...I fretted constantly about having two children and wondered how I could possibly love another child..daft though it may seem..but DD had my undivided attention for 2 years before DS arrived and had been my world..however when he arrived,we just kind of slotted into a routine and I felt the same level of love for him as I did for DD..I didnt feel that life was any more difficult apart from in the early days when getting DD to pre school was a military operation!.they hated each other as children but are very close now that they are 15 and 18 and DS really misses DD now she has gone off to Uni

LolaAnn · 14/10/2009 18:08

memorylapse number 5!! thats awesome. I have always wanted a large family god willing and all. And yay for your boiler, about time!!

I think I will be entitled to something, but to add a whole nother level of complexity I'm not even sure I will be here for the birth etc. I will work it out. Just realised only 5 days till I get to have my booking appt... finally... then 2 more days till I know if everything is ok and if this baby is actually a may baby hehe.

LuckyC · 14/10/2009 18:21

Memorylapse and suey2 thanks for jobhunting/ disclosure advice. And memorylapse good news about boiler and FANTASTIC news about good appointment!

lola you seem to have a nice relaxed attitude to the whole thing - I wish I could be the same.

LolaAnn · 14/10/2009 18:51

Welcome Kazmog when is your scan appt?

mustbemadno3 · 14/10/2009 18:52

anangelwithin thanks for welcoming me to the thread. Baby no5! Blimey your more than mustbemad!!! What are there ages? Im worried the age gaps of mine are too big for another one...im panicking. Although I am alittle excited as I have my nuchal scan on Monday.

brightredballoon · 14/10/2009 19:04

Hi everyone

ML what great news for you, what a relief the consultant feels happy with things and that the bloot clot will hopefully reabsorb into the pregnancy.

Suey thats so awful for your Mum to have that emotional pang from your Dad about leaving him etc, I know there's probably nothing I could do but I honestly mean if there is anything I can do or drop round to your Mum please just ask. I think I literally bumped into her the other day she was pruning the hedge and I had my double pram with toddler walking and so we didn't see her, it was a near miss but she was really jolly and "oh my fault" etc, I just apologised and tried to keep control of the vehicle from then!

Woo hooo I have a dating scan next Wednesday followed by my booking in appointment. I had to phone and chaase the hospital but am glad I have a date for it now.

suey2 · 14/10/2009 19:20

Brb that is so kind of you! I may take you up on that at some point

James please try not to worry. A patient of mine said that it doesn't change for the mother, but for the father he really has to step up. He said this in a very heartfelt way and it stuck with me! I do look across at dh at the weekend Reading the paper as I play with dd and feel a little grumpy: but his time will come!

memorylapse · 14/10/2009 19:20

BRB excellent news on the scan appt

LolaAnn · 14/10/2009 20:07

BRB we have our scans on the same day!! woohoo!!

LuckyC I think I just hide it well. I'm just trying to stay positive for the sake of my mental health and for baby too O_O I mean, what else can I do right??

littleowls · 14/10/2009 21:03

Hi everyone,

It's good to hear everyone's news about scans. Loads more new people on the board too. I've been away for a few weeks so it's been hard to catch up with all that's happened.

I've been for my dating scan today and there it was looking all cute! I've never really appreciated scan photos until today.

They have put the date at the 29th April now, so tomorrow I will be 12 weeks (I should have been 11) Hope I can still stay on the May thread! xx

littleowls · 14/10/2009 21:05

littleowls-good news on the scan

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 15/10/2009 10:48

Morning all, thanks memorylapse and suey - I know we'll muddle through somehow, just need to get organised before the baby gets here I think, my house is a perma tip (my food sprinkling wall scribbling book ripping monster doesn't help of course! Yesterday I caught him sprinkling chocolate milkshake all over the sofa like rain) Kids!

It's my birthday tomorrow, going to kick it off with a trip to the doctors to (hopefully) get my chronic coldsores taken care of, which sounds like a crap start but I think its the nicest thing I can do for myself right now tbh so I stop feeling like a leper!! Then we should be going for a meal in the evening - our first one (alone, together, in a restaurant which doesn't come with crayons) in about 2 years!

memorylapse I'm so glad you finally got your boiler fixed, it must have been a nightmare for you! bloody landlords.

Hope you're all doing ok! I'm 9 weeks today, can't believe some of you are 12 weeks (or almost there) already!

Hollyoaks · 15/10/2009 11:51

Welocme to the newbies

ML glad that your scan and consultant gave you good news. that your so near the magical 12 week mark, hope your feeling better and more chilled out now.

suey it sounds like you have your feelings sorted in your head now. I know how it feels to have conflicting emotions and feel guilty for being happy.

Well, after going to the gp and getting an appointment for bloods to check my thyroid I actually feel better today. That could have something to do with going to sleep at 8:30 last night . I'll still go for the bloods though as I'm slightly nervous about this pregnancy. My ds lost her baby at 28 weeks last year and she didn't feel right throughout her pregnancy but they couldn't figure out what was wrong.

alexiscolby · 15/10/2009 12:30

Good news on scans everyone.

ML - my close friend has 5 and she says they all just take care of each other. But it was comforting to hear your experience of first two.

My boy is 3 and i had only been dating DP for 3 mths & just split up when i found out i was pregnant. So he has always been everything to me (even tho after a year or so, DP & I are now together). I worry that maybe i won't feel the same or how i split the love. Its heartening to hear that you just do (hopefully!). Am worried about the stepping up bit too.

I have found out my booking in and scan is on 29 Oct. Yay!

Has anyone experience of telling first child they are pg?

MinnieMummy · 15/10/2009 12:46

Hello all, sorry to have been away so long, PC was down for a week or so then my freelance work has been v. busy. Fantastic news Memorylapse, have been thinking about you in my absence!

Still in my 'fat' clothes here but their days are numbered... I've got my interview for my own job next Monday and I think I'm going to have to delve into maternity clothes for that. I'm definitely keeping it quiet for the time being, I don't want any of my colleagues feeling guilty if they get one of the jobs and I don't. I'll wait until it's all settled. Fortunately this means they aren't noticing how much I am eating or my bump!!

MS feelings mostly seem to be passing here, still feel just generally rough a lot of the time but no vomming. To my mind I think this means it's a boy, had less sickness with DS - can't remember who it was who said they get a hairy belly, I got a hairy face last time - colourless but v downy, something else to look forward to!!

Scan next week (day after we find out who has jobs and who doesn't, so it'll be a good 'doesn't matter anyway' pick-me-up, hopefully!) yey!

pamelat · 15/10/2009 12:47

Hello all, have been away for 2 weeks with work so have got a little behind.

It was awful to leave DD (21 months) but now I am back, I realise what a rest I had! I have been back since Friday and am shattered.

She waited until my return to contract hand, foot and mouth so have had 3 broken nights sleep. Monday night was horrendous and I only got 3 hours sleep. Fortunately DD seems ok now and is a lot happier.

Also, have sold our house and bought somewhere else, hoping to move in Dec so life feels a little hetic!

How is everyone feeling?

I was sick for the first time today, hadn't been feeling too bad (other than tired).

I have not seen anyone yet but have a midwife appointment next week. Will feel a lot better after that, and hopefully a scan soon.

None of my clothes fit me.

AnAngelWithin · 15/10/2009 14:50

mustbemad, when this one arrives, my others will be 10, 8, 6 and 4!

i found going from 1 to 2 the most daunting too!! but you get there!! the 3rd one just slotted in and number 4.....well....you just go with the flow!!!

hophophippidtyhop · 15/10/2009 15:42

Don't want to put a dampner on here, I haven't been on much but have misscarried over the weekend and couldn't leave my name up here. Please don't be sad - I was sad but have accepted that these things are natures way of saying it's not growing the way it should. Just waiting for the all clear from the doctors to begin again in a months time hopefully!
Wishing you all the best of luck.

Hi all, welcome to all the newbies. Sorry to hear your news Hippity, hope you have better luck next time.

Only thing to report here is that my community midwife went sick today so couldn't make our booking in appointment. Oh well, maybe next week!

suey2 · 15/10/2009 16:10

Hippity you arebeing very brave. Best of luck ttc.

Pamelat I am spilling out of my clothes too! Waiting for the all clear before buying a winter coat: otherwise I'm already in maternity trousers. different fromthe firsttime, for sure.
