Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TomlinTowers · 12/10/2009 21:58

Hi all

Gils - glad that your scan went well. How lovely to see your little bean!

Lola - at your DH's comments. I wouldn't have cried myself to sleep, I would have been too busy pushing him out of bed and getting him to sleep on the sofa/spare bed until I had a full grovelling heartfelt apology! Although on the presents issue - I would have a sneaky look and see how good the shoes are before deciding to reject them. Wouldn't make any sense to let a pair of beautiful shoes go to waste.... .

Think the mini cheddars and oven chips may have done the trick - managed to eat a salad tonight. Was craving something healthy after nothing but blimmin chips and cheddars for weeks. Will now have jinxed myself to another 3 weeks but for tonight at least, I don't feel ill hurrah!!

TomlinTowers · 12/10/2009 21:59

sorry x-post - welcome mustbemadno3 and alexiscolby!

brightredballoon · 12/10/2009 22:05

Suey sorry to hear you have been having some down days and thoughts, good on you for booking an appointment though at least that should start to sort things out? What a bizarre coincidence that your friends came the same weekend as a year ago, no wonder it brought back emotions and thoughts. Good to see you are feeling a bit brighter lifted by a holiday and the sunshine, thankfully we have been enjoying some brighter weather too!

Welcome alexiscolby, the due in May2010 list is huge!

Hollyoaks thanks for your positive thinking about it being the nearing 2nd trimester making my symptoms less, I will buy into that but you cant help but worry can you.

Well that's me again, I seem to log on too late in the evening then boom 10pm hits me and I literally struggle to keep my eyes open.

Den26 · 12/10/2009 22:16

Hi All, been catching up on the posts.

So sorry to hear your news Growingbump and final furlong - take care of yourselves.

Final Furlong - i had a D&C in July - the op itself was fine, was under general anaesthetic and it didn't take long. I just found the day to be very long and alot of waiting so take something to try and keep your mind off of things as much as you can. Felt alittle sore afterwards but was just given paracetamol which helped. I really hope all goes well for you...

Reading peoples dreams have made me laugh! I've had pretty mad ones too but too crazy to try and explain on here!!!

Anyone else really constipated (sorry! ) I have been for days and keep thinking the pains/feelings are something more sinister

memorylapse · 12/10/2009 22:29

Lola-if it were my DH he would be relegated to the sofa until he truly repented..and I would goddamm make him grovel (cos I is evil)

Re the shoes..agree, check them out first, naturally if expensive and beautiful..do not reject at the outset..but wait until a substantial amount of grovelling has been achieved(mwha ha ha)

memorylapse · 12/10/2009 22:32

Den-yep Im sooo constipated..my bowel just seems to have gone on strike.Ive now got piles.Ive got constant tummy ache and dragging pains and I keep thinking the worse too..going to mention it to the MW tomorrow

sweetkitty · 12/10/2009 22:35

memorylapse - eugh poor you only time I get constipated is after childbirth and I avoided piles until after DD3 and then OMG you have my sympathies, is there anything herbal and natural you can take? Get it down you before you throw it back up?

brightred - have you got your booking in appt yet? where is it?

welcome newbies as well

Am too tired to do anymore typing, was at the Zoo today walked for miles and nearly threw up at the penguin enclosure, OMG the smell, can still smell it now

Den26 · 12/10/2009 22:47

Memorylapse - it's horrible isn't it? Thankfully i dont have the piles ...yet Will be interested to hear what your midwife says tomorrow...I need to book an appointment with mine tommorrow. How are things with you apart from the constipation...?

Welcome to mustbemad and alexiscolby!

Tomlin towers - i'm also worrying about lack of symptoms, nausea pretty much gone too (only 8 weeks) so i'm prodding my boobs too!! Hope no-ones watching

Lola - i think you have handled the situation very well!! I'd have to agree with the others and would have opted for kicking him out of bed. I fell out with my DP over weekend as he considerately came in stinking drunk at 4am on sunday morning He got silent treatment for a day! I didn't get any shoes !!!

Hollyoaks · 13/10/2009 08:22

Welcome to the newbies.

sweetkitty your post made me smile, it reminded me that I went to Edinburgh zoo when I was pg with dd and I was also retching (literally) at the penguin enclosure and had to walk away.

den26 I'm really constipated too, haven't been for ages properly and I'm wondering if thats adding to my general feeling of being unwell. This all feels so much different to my last pg, convinced its a boy. ML I'll be interested too in what the mw has to say about this.

tiggsy · 13/10/2009 09:40

Morning all! hope we're all ok this morning. agree with all the comments about constipation, and they say pregnancy is a wonderful experience (think they mean afterwards lol)
Anyway dp and my brother (who lives with us) have come down with swine flu, supposedly. I'm not convinced tho, think it's just a cold and they're wimps. Anyway so our house now looks like one of those of kim and aggies programme. They seem to have lost the ability to clean up after themselves. I was going to do dishes last night as ms eases off but dp said no and to rest but they are still there this morning aarrgghhh!!
ok rant over xx

LolaAnn · 13/10/2009 09:52

Oh also - I'm constipated if it makes you guys feel better

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I haven't said a word to him since... he is acting like nothing is wrong, this could be long, I will hold out though!! He has really poor communication skills and really needs to learn that you actually have to apologise and talk things through...

Den26 my symptoms have all but gone too. I'm expecting my scan next week to be nothing.. I mean.. I only took 2 preg tests are they really that accurate?? Lol!! Positive thinking!!

mich5lle · 13/10/2009 11:27

Good morning

Its been a while since i have been on here but thought i would drop on by. I had an early scan at seven weeks and all is ok so fingers crossed as i had a mmc in april so to actually see something on the screen was fantastic. Since 5 weeks i have had terrible sickness. I have not been able to keep anything down, me and my toilet and my works toilet are becoming so close .

Yesterday i went to the doctors as i really had had enough and was but on anti sickness tablets...so far not worked but maybe its early days , i just wish for a minute of no sickness and to actually hold something in. Soory to have a moan but it just sometimes gets to you. It is my first wedding anniversay and birthday next week but i am reluctant to go out for a meal to celebrate...i do feel for my DH.

Anyway i hope everyone else is doing fine or can give me any advice

Thanks
M x

LotusPalm · 13/10/2009 12:27

Hello ladies,

Sorry to read of bad news (thoughts are with you) and bad moves (constipation is a killer).

I've not been on for a little while as i have been getting increasingly paranoid since my drop in symptoms earlier this month. I managed to control my urge to run to the scanner and my symptoms did come back but no-where near as bad. Yesterday though it all got the better of me and i booked a private scan as my nuchal isn't for another 2 whole long weeks. DH was a love and left work early (even though he felt i was being a little irrational in my fear of an MMC) and we had our scan last night. And there is definately something in there! It does look a little like an alien though... DH was so excited when it started to dance around, and all i kept saying was how weird it was that that was inside me! I've been very contained about the pregnancy so far, as i dont want to become attached or anything - just in case. So the fact that its a proper baby is just so odd.

I am 11 weeks and 3 days (so 4/5 days more than the Dr thought, but pretty much where i thought i was!) and it also means that Ziggy was created and started to divide at about the time DH and i exchanged vows and i drank my own weight in Cosmopolitans. Thank god the lit'luns dont latch on for a week or so!

xx

alexiscolby · 13/10/2009 13:34

Hello all.

Constipation just kicking in again for me. Eating nuts & seeds helped me last time. Yes, I know. Seeds. You'd think they could make chocolate.

Am losing nausea in the morning but has anyone else got big boobs - am 9 wks and mine have gone from C to E cup already. I feel like Dolly Parton. DP is loving it, needless to say.

Mich5lle - my friend used to swear by pepsi max and crackers for her sickness. not sure if it works though or if you fancy trying that?

Hope everyone good
x

VivClicquot · 13/10/2009 13:57

lotuspalm If it makes you feel any better, our cub was conceived three days before I went on my hen weekend, whereupon I drank enough polish vodka to make me very poorly indeed. If he or she has an aversion to bisongrass vodka and apple juice cocktails when they're older, I'll know why...

LotusPalm · 13/10/2009 14:10

viv - thanks for your message. I'm not worried about it - i think it's funny rather than anything and quite cute that Ziggy was there with us! I know no damage could have come to it so early on. I'd be more concerned if they had an overt liking for them. Keep an eye out for baby snaggling the clear liquor!

alixis - yep, big boobs over here. I've gone up 2 cup sizes and i wasnt small to start with. DH commented on their 'heft' the other day - the man has such a way with words! I felt like a cow at market being appraised for my milking capability...

HeadInAWhirl · 13/10/2009 14:11

Hello all, welcome to he new people and thanks for the good scan news

I am currently overdosing on cbeebies as DS has temp and is being pretty miserable and clingy. DD has finally given in and gone for a nap, she had a horrid night. I went out for the evening (lush pamper night - excellent!) but it messed up her bedtime and so I think she was punishing me all night! Or it could just be teeth as her bum is red

No nausea here really, I just can't be bothered eating, not like me at all!

Sophie2008 · 13/10/2009 14:42

Still feeling sick, can not eat much either, plus constipated too.
Made a Bran cake last night so that should solve the problem... i hope!!

Just put DD down for a nap, so might grab some zzzzz's myself.

Been scaring myself half to death with looking at pictures of women who are carrying twins, OMG they are huge!
I am going to my inlaws wedding aniversay party on Saturday and my belly sticks out a mile, so need to try and hide it. The inlaws know, but don't want to tell rest of the family it's Twins until after the next scan in two weeks.

Any ideas on how to hide the bump?

Sorry to hear that there has been some bad news on here my thoughts are with you both. x x

MoggMum · 13/10/2009 14:59

Hi All, Ive just been on the May thread in the pregnancy section. Can I join this one too? Im due mid May with my first child. Have left it a bit late in life (38) so I'm hoping there's some other 'older' Mums-to-be out there? Feeling very sick at the mo so any tips on dealing with this welcome (fish & chips seem to help but not the healiest solution!). This is all new to me (threads & pregnancy!) so it will be good to share with others in the same boat x

brightredballoon · 13/10/2009 15:10

Welcome MoggMum, I posted on the due in May thread in the pregnancy section to let you all know about this one but Im not sure if anyone came over!

SK nope I haven't had any appointments through yet, I phoned them yesterday but my referral hasn't reached antenatal yet, she thought I might get a booking in for next week (well here's hoping as I will be 12 + then!)

We were thinking of going to Edinburgh Zoo this week, I haven't been before - is it good?

Sophie could you wear a long fashion scarf with your outfit for the party? Then it will hang down in front of your bump? Failing that a pattern would help to conceal it. I have a paunch, it doesnt look like a baby bump but I think people will be getting suspicious regardless.

Hope everyone is ok

alexiscolby · 13/10/2009 15:37

MoggMum you could try the dresses/tops that have a tie under the boobs so it floats over the top? Have a silly size bump myself at the mo (stomach muscles = zero) so have been wearing them to work until i decide to share with my boss. Or the long necklaces that can go down to your waist. Anything to take the eyes away!

memorylapse · 13/10/2009 16:10

well Ive just staggered through the door laden down with pregnancy info packs, dvds and Bounty Mum to Be pack

my midwife is lovely and spent an hour and 20 mins doing my booking appt..I dont think there is anything we didnt cover!..Im seeing consultant tomorrow and have been labelled high risk due to health problems..the lovely thing is that when I go to the cottage hospital to see the consultant..I will always see the same team of midwives
they are going to start me on clexane at 12 weeks as I had a pe after dd2.
Ive been given, my hand held notes, a pack full of info, a DVD a huge book on pregnnacy! also my bounty mum to be pack..there was so much stuff she asked if I was ok carrying it all!

Ive only been out two hours but I feel wrecked.
Re: constipation..midwife has asked me to raise it with concultant tomorrow.
Lotuspalm..how lovely..a honeymoon baby..awwwww

hope everyone else is ok

LotusPalm · 13/10/2009 16:19

Hey memory - that sounds like a cracking booking in appointment! And so nice to see the same midwife team each time. They promise the same thing here but i cant see how it will actually happen they seem to be so busy. I may contemplate a home birth - not that DH knows this yet, i think he'd freak out more than a little bit...

And not exactly a honeymoon baby... More a night before the wedding baby And we're not off on honeymoon for another 8 weeks time!

MoggMum · 13/10/2009 16:36

LotusPalm - our 'Froglett' was a Wedding Baby too. I was a bit worried as drank lots of alcohol during our Honeymoon (before I knew Froglett existed)! Had an early scan at 8 weeks (looked like a little frog - hence the name!) and all seems fine so hopefully no damage done.

memory - got my first mw app on Friday so hope it's as good as yours. Had to wait ages to see her as she's so busy!

Thanks for advice alexiscolby
