Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 11/10/2009 23:36

Hi all, it's taken me an hour to read a weeks posts so don't have much time to post myself.

FF and Gb2, so sorry to hear your news, all the very best for ttc in the future.

I can sympathise with the weird dreams, I've had everything from sex dreams to one where I had something stuck in my teeth and when I finally picked it out half my teeth and my jawbone(s!) came away with it and I was left holding these bones with a slack face, trying to tell dp to call 999, but he didn't know what I wanted! Bloody weird.

No sex here either. I feel sorry for dp but I'm so tired, vaguely bleeding still, and I'm so run down I constantly have coldsores on my mouth so it's virtually impossible!

Hollyoaks · 12/10/2009 08:37

finalfurlong growingbump so sorry to hear your news, take some time for yourselves and hopefully we will hear from you again on one of the antenatal threads.

carikube my bags were packed!!!!!!

brightredballoon at your symptoms getting better. I know it makes you worry all the more but I'm only 7 weeks and in the throws of horrendous nausea and tiredness. Just want to crawl into bed and get up for my 12 week scan. It sounds like you may be entering the joys of the second trimester.

LittleOneMum · 12/10/2009 09:14

I was about to come on and moan about what a truly awful weekend I'd had, feeling really awaful, and then I saw the news from growingbump2 and finalfurlong and I realised that frankly I have nothing to moan about. I'm so sorry to hear your news, ladies. Thinking of you. x

suey2 · 12/10/2009 09:25

growingbump2 and finalfurlong i'm so sorry.

I've had a difficult weekend. It was exactly a year ago when I got really sick with PND and we had the same people coming and going for the same meal as last year and it brought it all back . I really started freaking out, and remembered all the suicidal and murderous thoughts i was having. The problem is, when you try and think - don't think about blah - you can't help but think about it. I've made an appointment with a shrink, but it's not for 3 weeks. I hope that having got through the weekend, it will settle down. But with my father dying slowly and with a lot of anger and pain; and with me being the main support to my mum, everything is pretty tough. I was so happy about the PG until i went up to see him 2 weeks ago and since then i have felt like shit.

Hey everyone.

growingbump and finalfurlong I am so so sorry to hear your news. Will miss you on the thread. Look after yourselves.

Gil how are you doing? Any scan news yet?

cupcakefairy glad the crackers and marmite are working out for you!

slipperthief good for you - well done for taking your time and working your way through it all.

suey Sorry you are having a tough time. You are doing the right thing getting help.

I spent the weekend with a friend who is also pregnant, and for the first time had someone I could really talk to about everything - God, what a relief. Think I need to start NCT classes soon and meet more mums-to-be.

LuckyC · 12/10/2009 10:17

Oh and PS had a proper hormonal shout at someone this weekend...

Friend (male, no tact): Are you getting fat yet?

Me (turning from normal human being into raging preg-zilla in the blink of an eye): No I am ***ing not. You are though, what's your excuse?

Friend (goes very quiet.)

Me (3,2,1, back in the room): God, sorry, you look really well though.

Oh dear! But honestly what a bloody silly question to ask a pregnant woman!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 12/10/2009 10:55

lol LuckyC - I remember shouting at one of my best friends last time I was pg, over something I would normally have let go. It's so embarassing but I think you just have to blame it on the hormones - at least he won't make the mistake of saying it again, eh?

Suey, sorry you're not doing so good, glad you're looking into getting help and support now, I'm sure there are things that can be done to help ward off PND.

Memorylapse, how are you doing today hon?

I think I've caught my mil's cold, just what I needed barely two weeks after the last one where I was really poorly! My immune system is seriously shit.

tiggsy · 12/10/2009 11:08

sorry to hear the sad news ff & gb2, i hope you get all the support you need x

luckyc i remember when i was pg with dd and still at work my colleague was 6mths further gone than me. one day an elderly lady asked the time, my colleague replied, old lady repeated whats the time (obviously hadn't heard) and colleague replied 'are you *&^%ing deaf you old hag... fell about laughing at both parties mortified expressions! i was never like that with dd but am thinking i might be like that this time to see what i can get away with lol

my ms has finally arrived in style this morning, bless dd she doesn't understand and is so worried about me!

suey2 · 12/10/2009 11:14

suddenly feeling a whole lot better! the sun is shining, I have a gorgeous wee girl and i'm going to have another baby. And, we've booked a holiday - yay!

Luckyc that is soooo annoying. I remember last time going into PG clothes way ealier than i needed to just to make it clear i was PG, not just fat! Not really an option with your work, though..

JATGB sorry to hear about your cold: you don't need anything else to make you feel more shit in the first trimester, eh?

OP posts:
VivClicquot · 12/10/2009 11:21

Sorry to hear your news FinalFurlong and GrowingBump. Hope you are both bearing up as well as you can be.

FF - I had a d&c in July after an mmc, and I have to say it was all relatively straightforward. Mine was under a general anaesthetic, and I had to be kept in hospital overnight following the op, as I came out of surgery with a high temperature; however, apart from that, I felt absolutely fine. Had very little bleeding and pain, and was back at work 48 hours later. (I didn't want to stay at home and brood, and found keeping busy was the best way for me to cope - I know not everyone is like this though, so don't be hard on yourself if you need more time)

Hope everyone else is good. I am absolutely full of cold and spent most of this weekend in bed. Bleurgh.

pigleychez · 12/10/2009 11:30

growingbump and finalfurlong - Sorry to hear your sad news thinking of you!

Had a lovely day with my parents yesterday and had a lovely lunch at a Chinese resturant. Sadly it didnt stay with me for long. First time I have actually been sick in either pregnancy so hoping its not the start of things to come

Carikube- Hope things improve with DH. He will soon get used to your hair short. Have a fab time in NZ! Thats where I was born
What parts are you going to? and brave you taking a 6mth old that far!!

Def with you all on the weird dreams. Some of mine have been quite distrubing. It would be very interesting to get them anaylised but then again I think id rather not know!

Carikube · 12/10/2009 11:55

Sorry about that Hollyoaks - we don't even have any room in a suitcase for you now as we have crammed everything in.

Pigley we're hiring a car and driving all around both islands so it really is a whistlestop tour.

The nicest thing about it is that I just seem to have developed a bump but don't want to tell anyone yet, but I won't be back until I'm gone 12 weeks so it all works out rather nicely (I was out with the girls from my antenatal class on Saturday night and I was voted the person most likely to have #2 first - I didn't like to tell them how right they were!)

memorylapse · 12/10/2009 12:14

quick post cos I feel sick as a dog...
still no boiler repair..we are looking into the possibility of getting out of our tenancy agreement as we feel its been breached.
LuckyC..I did laugh at your hormonal rant..only a man would ask a daft question like that!
James ..sorry to hear youve got another cold..its sad fact that our immune system drops into our socks when preg, its because the baby its technically a foreign object and its to stop our body rejecting it.
DH has got a dreadful cold and it sounds like its gone onto his chest..need to keep an eye on him as he nearly died of pnuemonia before christmas.

LolaAnn · 12/10/2009 12:27

Carikube have fun in NZ!! Thats where I am from and told DH last night that we are going back there to have the baby without doubt. He was fine with it so yay!! Now just have to wait until I can break the news to everyone .. still no clue how far along I am.

Memorylapse how on earth can your boiler still not be fixed?! Your landlord must be breaking some rules by now... sorry I have only just got here so don't know what the law is etc but it doesnt sound right at all.

I'm still sniffly, some one told me I sounded like I had a smokers cough.. haha.. definately not. I've literally been sick the whole time I've been preg which coincidentally has been the entire time I've been in London.. great.. awesome start to everything haha!!

Last night DH told me since we got back together that sex was no longer special or sacred. Wow. Cried myself to sleep, what a jerk. .....

memorylapse · 12/10/2009 13:05

Lola was a tactless thing for your DH to say..did he elaborate?

The boiler saga is a long one..the boiler needs a part which has to be built..the contractors cant get hold of it but keep fobbing us off..its been nearly 4 weeks..LL has today insisted that the contractor tries to get the part but the boiler is 20 years old..why the hell doesnt he just replace it? we are facing winter with no heating..LL is not technically breaking the law because he is technically trying to repair it, have posted about it on moneysavingexpert to see what advice we get

Gils · 12/10/2009 13:20

Hi all scan went well although my bladder was so full I thought I was going to explode. They found no cause of the bleeding. Just such a relief.

They have put me at 9 and half weeks so think due date will be couple days later now. Amazing how much it looked like a proper wee baby, hard to see past the tears, just wish DH could have been there.

Memorylapse I would def look into your rights with landlord, boiler issues have been going on for too long.

Carikube, enjoy holiday so jealous.

Also having some very strange dreams. I dreamt of house being burnt down in forest fires although we stay no where near a forest and last night I found Maddie McCann while on holiday

LuckyC · 12/10/2009 13:27

yay gils good for you glad all well!

I am a retching, puking, sick mess. (Sorry, charming vision.) Even marmite crackers came up today. BUT (don't read if you are feeling grim) I am now having times where I feel OK for hours at a stretch - and I ate a massive roast beef lunch yesterday.

memorylapse No way man landlord not playing by the rules. You have been amazingly un-moany about no heating, I would have been complaining on here every day. Tell him time is up and he must bloody sort it out. (There go my hormones again!)

Lola very weird/tactless thing for DH to say. Would also have cried self to sleep. Hope you OK.

suey2 · 12/10/2009 13:32

lola that is a horrible thing to say! did you split up for a while?

lola at your dh's comment, how awful for you.

gils glad the scan went well.

luckyc glad your managing to keep things down in between the pukey stages, it makes it more bearable when you get a break from it. I get my break when I sleep at the moment but I know it will pass.

ML are there no laws regarding having children and/or pg women in a rented property without heating? Hope its fixed soon.

memorylapse · 12/10/2009 15:29

Phoned shelter for advice..we can do one of two things..take our LL to court for failing to provide us with heating (difficult when he lives abroad and we will have to pay)
or
terminate our tenancy agreement due to breach of tenancy, but he could take us to court..so technically..no win situation

LolaAnn · 12/10/2009 18:31

Ah thanks everyone for your positive words. We had been talking in bed for ages actually having a very intellectual conversation about all sorts of things and somehow it just came out??? I went silent for a bit and DH is going whats wrong?? Unbelievable, dunno what is wrong with him. Anyway I just went to sleep, he went off to work this morning, tonight could be interesting! Sigh. Drama is not what I need right now.

Welcome alexiscolby, Gils so great that your scan was all good!! Yay!! I'm now counting down till my first one... 1 week 2 days yay!!

LolaAnn · 12/10/2009 21:05

Oh update. DH just returned home from work, threw a bag onto the bed - I had anticipated his return so was wearing big headphones, very mature yes, hey, I'm still young lol.. anyway he has left for the gym, had a squeeze of the bag feels like shoes for me.

Aparently presents make it all better right? Wrong. I'm just going to leave that bag exactly where it landed on the bed.

AnAngelWithin · 12/10/2009 21:19

hi all.

FinalFurlong so sorry to hear your news. take care x

welcome alexiscolby.

feel so drained here. Went out for dinner with my aunt today and had to force feed myself, I usually eat like a horse, so didn't want to NOT eat, would draw too much attention!!

Just holding on for the midwife to ring really.

My jeans are getting so tight its unreal! I'm only 7 weeks!!! I need to go buy leggings I think!!

mustbemadno3 · 12/10/2009 21:56
