Hello

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
slipperthief · 11/10/2009 12:12

And for the record, I'm really happy today! No longer in a depression that's lasted since the shock of that little blue line over the prospect of loosing my hard won-back independence/ career/ social life to be a full time mum again. Am now full of happy baby thoughts and looking forward to our scan on 22nd

AnAngelWithin · 11/10/2009 12:21

good for you slipperthief!! I am really pleased for you x

slipperthief · 11/10/2009 12:46

Thank you. Glad things are all panning out well for you too, haven't logged in for a bit but glad to hear your great news from your scan.

memorylapse · 11/10/2009 13:43

My daughter is doing a pschycology degree at Uni..Im sure she would have a field day with all our bizarre dreams

I sometimes wonder if the dreaming we do in early pregnancy is our subconcious, processing and making sense of such a large impending change in our lives or it could just be to do with hormones

Slipperthief- lovely to hear that things are looking brighter for you..not everyone jumps for joy the second the blue line appears..sometimes it takes a while to adjust

10+1 today..panicked last night as for about 5 mins had a sort of dragging sensation almost like period pain..but no bleeding

Carikube · 11/10/2009 14:38

You'll all be pleased to hear that DH is talking to me again and we are actually getting along (albeit with occasional digs about how 'awful' my hair is) so Hollyoaks sorry to let you down but it looks like we're going to NZ after all

HeadInAWhirl · 11/10/2009 15:25

Carikube NZ? really?where when? So

No dreams here, partly because DD didn't let u sleep long enough last night! and I really thought she was improving.

Saw my parents yesterday and told them and the conversation seemed all about SIL and DB, apparently he's taking it really hard. I really felt like I should apologise for being PG, and they weren't even there. Fortunately my mum did apologise later for their response, but my timing sucks DH is pretty fed up with people's reactions tbh, he was annoyed with his parents jokily asking do you know what causes it yet? He doesn't realise people aren't as excited about #3 as they were with #1

growingbump2 · 11/10/2009 15:44

Hi girls,

The silly dreams are bringing a smile to my face, sadly have to report that the earlier bleeding I had last week was infact something to worry about and unfortunatley I had a miscarriage yesterday, it was a horrible experience and for any of you guys with bleeding do not let health professionals fob you off! I will be keeping an eye on all the May babies progress and will hopefully be on the TTC soon! Take care and good luck to all xxx

memorylapse · 11/10/2009 16:23

growingbump-Im so sorry

AnAngelWithin · 11/10/2009 17:01

so sorry to hear your news growingbump2. Take care of yourself. x

Carikube · 11/10/2009 17:03

Growingbump - so sorry to hear that and hope that you have the support you need in RL. Thinking of you

Carikube · 11/10/2009 17:04

Headinawhirl we're travelling all round NZ for 3 weeks. Really looking forward to it though not entirely sure how dd (6 mo) will be on the flight - I just really hope she sleeps for most of the journey!

FinalFurlong · 11/10/2009 17:49

hiya all,

i dont post here much but do alot of lurking.

i had a private scan today, as i have had a previous mc and wanted to check things were ok. unfortunatly the baby was only measuring 7weeks (it should of been 9) and had no heartbeat. The cinic refered me straight to hospital, am booked into the EPU on tuesday and will probably have to have D&C as all my preg symptoms are still here and i've had no spotting.
the baby was quite well formed and it was reallybovious there was no heartbeat at all, no a flicker.
am obviously really down about it, but wondering if anyone else has had d&c and what i should be expecting?
so sorry to hear of other people bad news. Growingbump2 my thoughts are with you too now.

good luck to all and i really hope everyone pregnancys go from strength to strength!

will probably lurk from time to time and see how youre all doing

x x

cupcakefairy · 11/10/2009 18:11

growingbump and finalfurlong so so sorry to hear your news I miscarried earlier in the year and it is a horrible experience; you have my sympathies.
FF I had medical management (where they give you pessaries to bring on the miscarriage) but have heard a d&c is quick and painless. The mc boards on here are really really good and supportive.
Also if both of you want to talk with people who know exactly what you're going through, feel free to join us here we've all miscarried once or more & are at varying stages of ttc and pregnancy. The girls are lovely and so supportive

Gils really hope your scan goes ok tomorrow. We have the same 12-wk scan date too

Carikube men are so funny about hair aren't they! Mine hates it when I straighten my hair and always wants it to be curly/wavy. My dad used to get upset when I had my hair cut back home too...weird! Hope you have a great holiday!

angel my dreams are really upsetting too. I had one about my parents splitting up and last night one about being in the midst of a terrorist bomb attack at an airport not very nice.

Have been feeling more and more nauseous last few days but crackers and marmite are a top tip thanks girls

Very jealous of your holiday Carikube, sounds wonderful!

So sorry to hear your news Growingbump2 and FInalFurlong, that's really sad Hope you're both OK and good luck with TTCing.

HeadinaWhirl - it must be so difficult to have your news alongside your DB and SIL How are they coping? Negative reactions can be horrible though.

Re dreams: I have loads of really nasty dreams about having horrible conflicts with family and friends, it's quite upsetting. I also have very surreal and often sexy dreams about random slebs who I don't even like (or think about).

tiggsy · 11/10/2009 18:37

To eat or not to eat? One very tough question...

sweetkitty · 11/10/2009 19:03

Growingbump and Finalfurlong - so so sorry to hear your news take care of yourselves, take time to grieve, some women need to be pregnant asap some need a wee break, as sad as it is now you will bounce back

memorylapse · 11/10/2009 20:10

finalfurlong-so sorry to hear your news..I know its very unmumsnetty but ((hugs))

LolaAnn · 11/10/2009 20:18

Very sorry to hear the bad news girls praying that you are okay.

whenwillisleepagain · 11/10/2009 20:24

Growing bump and finalfurlong - so sorry for both of you. FF, I had a missed mc at 10 weeks and when they measured, it had all gone wrong at 7 weeks. It was 4yrs ago, so am trying to remember the discussions at the time - I opted for d&c and our local hospital is apparently quite unusual in doing it under general rather than local anaesthetic. I was struck by how kind everyone was to me in the day surgery unit and I found the leaflets from the miscarriage association useful (didn't even know about MN then!) Take care of yourself.

I am having early scan on Tues because of this history. Meanwhile am living almost entirely on M&S cheese tasters and Colin the Caterpillar, not something I will admit to other than here.

HeadInAWhirl · 11/10/2009 20:50

Growingbump2 and Finalfurlong, I am so sorry to hear your news. Take the time you need for your bodies and minds to heal, you will know when is right to try again, but please call in on the thread and tell us the good news when you have it! I look forward to hearing from you

Carikube I am madly jealous (too jealous for little faces!) My godmother lives in NZ and we went to visit her for our 1st anniversary and are dying to go back. She has a backpackers hostel in her back garden, I don't know how detailed your plans are but I know she's family friendly - she has a grandson who is about 18months, and another one on the way

Had a lovely afternoon with friends who are moving away next week - the kids played on the park, and then the dads bbqd outside even though we are wimps and ate inside, then we all watched monsters inc! Off for a deep relaxing bath and hopefully a good nights sleep as Dh is back to work tomorrow and its all back to normal

Gils · 11/10/2009 21:14

Growingbump and Finalfurlong I am so sorry to hear your news. I wish you all the best on TTC in the future.
I'm having a relaxing night with laptop and tv. Sister has taken DD tonight, of on holiday and I'm not sleeping well just now. Just wish DH was home. Don't know how I'll take news tomorrow if its bad and feel sorry for him being away from home too. Forget how much it gets to them too.
Nearly jumped for joy when felt sick today, trying to remain optimistic.

TomlinTowers · 11/10/2009 21:40

Growingbump2 and finalfurlong - so sorry to hear your news, I hope you take all the time you need, and have some good news to share with us when you are ready.

Gils - hope your scan goes well tomorrow, fingers crossed.

Whoever it was that mentioned Colin the Caterpillars - OMG I am with you there! Three bags since Wednesday and still going! Great to munch on when driving in the car.

Apart from mini cheddars and CTCs am surviving on oven chips with tomato ketchup. Will never be able to eat another chip again by the time I get to 12 weeks. Which is probably no bad thing....!

TomlinTowers · 11/10/2009 21:42

Also strange dreams - I dreamt the other night that I had gone on secondment back to my old firm (which I hated) and bizarrely my old R.E. teacher was there, telling me that my work was sub-standard. I was having a stand up row with him when DH woke me up because I was "shouting" in my sleep!! It was really weird - stayed with me all day. God knows what an analyst would make of that!

brightredballoon · 11/10/2009 21:54

Hi girls

Sorry to hear of your sad losses FF and GB2, all the best for future pregnancies xx

The dream stories are making me smile, isnt it bizarre what goes on when we sleep!

Is anyone else's symptoms easing a bit? I am nervous but I am sure this happened with DC 1&2 I am 11 wks tomorrow.
I am really hoping to get a scan date through soon, haven't heard about any appointment whatsoever but that is because I asked to be referred to another hospital last Monday.

Hope everyone is doing ok, I haven't read back much as I am so tired I need to go to bed!
