Hello

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LittleOneMum · 08/10/2009 09:45

Hi hollyoaks I have no idea if the sea bands are working really. have put them on and wear them all the time and it feels like I might be a tiny bit less sick but I'm not sure - don't want to take them off in case I get worse!

I am going to order some preggiepops. I saw my obstetrician this week and he gave me a prescription for some drugs which he says are totally safe but for some reason I can't bring myself to take them. If it gets really bad I might... he also said that keeping yourself hydrated helps.

Hollyoaks · 08/10/2009 09:50

Littleonemum I'm frightened to take the bands off too though take them off in the evening after tea as I'm frightened they will stop being as effective if I wear them too often. It's very confusing and I'm not sure how useful. I don't know how your managing to work FT feeling like this, I work 3 and a half days and I'm struggling.

AnAngelWithin · 08/10/2009 10:43

morning ladies. how are you? I've just seen DH off, he has gone to a family funeral

well it took me 2 hours and 4 attempts to eat half my dinner last night. Ended up chucking it out in the end! Just even thinking about what to make for tea makes me feel ill this morning. Have however discovered that dds lollipops are very nice and helping me not feel so queasy!!

what are preggiepops littleonemum?? never heard of them!!!

sophie hope the dentist goes well. sorry to hear you are having a rough time.

LittleOneMum · 08/10/2009 11:22

They're natural sweets in flavours like 'sour fruit' and 'green apple' which are meant to help with MS. They're about £4 a pack online. Mind you, if you leave those lying around, it's pretty obvious you are pg!

Working FT does suck, but I've asked work not to send me out of London and I figured that if I'd going to feel dreadful at home I might as well feel dreadful here...

memorylapse · 08/10/2009 11:26

Morning ladies.

Ive decided to take sabbatical from the ante natal threads because I dont want to fill them with doom and gloom..spoke to my own midwife today and she had also told me I will probably miscarry so Im resigned to it...I should be 10 weeks on Saturday and Im terrified, the thought of miscarrying now.

Any how..Im going to let you guys enjoy your pregnancies, heres to happy, healthy babies

LuckyC · 08/10/2009 11:56

Oh memorylapse I just don't know what to say. I just want it to work out for you. Please don't feel you have to leave unless it's too painful for you to be here. Despite everything you have been a very positive presence on the thread. Apologies for a non-mumsnetty [hug]].

thehen · 08/10/2009 12:22

Hi All, I'm new here but would like to join the thread! Due May 16th according to the mnet calculator but not had that confirmed yet. Craving red grapes and skittles - yum!

LolaAnn · 08/10/2009 14:04

memorylapse so sorry to hear that.

I had the worlds worst sleep last night. I've been sick with a cough but pretty sure I have a bad case of acid reflux, so my night last night kinda went like....
trying not to coughcoughAhhhh run to the toilet gonna be sick because of acid in throatcoughing fit/cant breathe
/repeat all night

FUN. Burst some blood vessels in my eyes because a couple of times I couldn't breathe at all and was desperately coughing to clear the way. So gross. Poor DH.

I called up the midwives unit at King George yesterday, because I hadn't recieved anything and it had been weeks. Anyway they said I wasn't on the system and to get my dr to fax it thru again. Grrr. So did that and got it all sorted, then go downstairs, and... theres my booking confirmation and scan for the 19th and 21st!! haha.

Am desperately trying to get my doctor to refer me for an early scan but she says its the midwives job and they say its hers. Grrr. She is meant to call me today with what the plan is.

HeadInAWhirl · 08/10/2009 19:14

Memorylapse, feel free to stay if you don't want to be on your own - it ain't over till its over and all that. Statistics might be against you but your little bean has fought this far....

Sympathy to all those feeling/being sick - I am doing my really annoying thing f being hungry but getting full really easily, I remember with DS my Dad not believing his luck that he got to finish my chinese. How can something about the size of a fingernail already have an impact on how much room my stomach has?!

Had a 'chat' with SIL on fb and she sounds like she's doing OK, saying these things happen for a reason, she lives near her parents and sister so lots of support and chocolate around and DN is keeping her and DB smiling

Den26 · 08/10/2009 19:29

Hi All, sorry to hear everyones struggling with MS/nausea - we can all get through it together!!!

I came home early from work as colleagues were commenting that i looked green/white/'funny red' colour - nice!!! Said i thought i had a bug

LolaAnn that sounds dreadful! Hope you feel better soon.

I'm having trouble sleeping too - waking during the night for the loo and not getting back to sleep. Is anyone else suffering from restless legs? I feel like my kingsize bed is no longer big enough of the 2 of us!!!

memorylapse i'm so sorry your going through this. It would be really nice to hear from you on here but i can understand that its hard hearing everyone elses stories. I really do hope that all continues to go well for you, take care of yourself...

memorylapse · 08/10/2009 20:03

Thanks all..Im staying away until I have my 12 week scan or until they can give me a better prognosis. I love hearing everyones stories but feel that I dont have anything cheerful to contribute, hence its better if I dont post..I will probably still lurk though

Den26 · 08/10/2009 20:24

memorylapse I understand, but i think you're being hard on yourself - sites like mumsnet are here to help people through the tough times as well as the good. Do whats gonna help you Best wishes

suey2 · 08/10/2009 21:43

ML I hold out hope that you will be back here in a month: do let us know how you go.

OP posts:
LolaAnn · 08/10/2009 21:59

Den26 yes I have major restless legs also! I have almost forgotten what proper sleep feels like.

DH kindly bought me some mint imperials home from work which is meant to help with acid reflux?? I dunno about that.. hard to tell if its making it worse or better. Gonna try sleep elevated tonight and see how that goes (not holding out much hope)

Hollyoaks · 09/10/2009 07:36

Oh the nausea and headaches, this is so much worse than last time . I'm really struggling, I don't know how you ladies working full time or with more than one dc are coping. I'm having a tough time with my part-time job and toddler, I feel like such a wuss.

lolaann I found the mint imperials helped with the ms for a short time but now they just make me retch. Heartburn is awful though, the only thing that seemed to ease it was Gaviscon from the bottle.

ML If you want to share your pregnancy than please do, but its understandable if you don't want to or its too hard. I hope everything goes well for you and your little one and your back on here soon.

tiggsy · 09/10/2009 07:49

urgh... been up since 3am hugging the toilet but still just really bad nausea. hate this, would rather be sick than just feel like it all the time!

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 09/10/2009 10:36

thehen - welcome to the thread

memorylapse - please don't feel like you have to leave if you find the thread helpful, we're all happy to support you. I can understand why you might want to take a break though. Good luck with the little bean sticking, I'm thinking of you.

Is anyone else having incredibly vivid dreams? I sleep very deeply at the moment but dreaming really weirdly.

LuckyC · 09/10/2009 11:01

Hi all,

tigsy I actually threw up for about half an hour abour half an hour ago - such a relief - for a little while... Read the list of what we're supposed to be eating - HA! Will post it if I can find it again for a laugh.

I have had a couple of sleepless nights worrying about work. Just not sure what to do. It's going to be hard to jobhunt in this position. With our recent move out of London, I have painted myself into a corner.

Got scan date - 28th Oct - thank God.

Have good weekends all.

cupcakefairy · 09/10/2009 11:06

TCH I'm having crazily vivid dreams too, dh rolls his eyes every morning as I explain the latest installment!

memory so sorry you are feeling like this but I understand the need to take a step back- please come back to us when you are ready as I feel positive your bean will be ok.

Lola I've been desperately trying to get an early scan too e to previous mc.. GP, midwife and EPU all said no I am gutted, just feel I can't get excited about this pregnancy until I at least know there is a heartbeat and all seems healthy

suey2 · 09/10/2009 11:14

yes to vivid dreams- some horrible!

yes to nausea, dizziness, general crapness all round.

8 weeks today. Aiming for 13 and feeling better! Seems like such a long time away.....

OP posts:
Hollyoaks · 09/10/2009 11:20

Suey your brave, I'm aiming for 12 but I'm only 7 weeks today. Just wishing October away.

Yes to the vivid dreams too, some very scary and then others really weird. Can't remember them any more but they have an affect when I wake up in the morning.

cupcake can't believe they won't give you an early scan . It's not like it's a big problem for the hospital to do it but it would take a load of your mind.

tigsy for you but know what your going through, yuck!

luckyc glad your scan isn't too far away

LolaAnn · 09/10/2009 11:35

cupcakefairy its so annoying!! Why can't they just agree to an early scan!! Arg. My doctor said she would call me back yesterday and didn't.. grrrrrr. In my case everyone wants me to have one, but they are all fighting about how.

I'm dying to know how far along I am. I really have no idea. My boobs have grown a lot and my tummy is definately not as flat as it was, although I'm really not sure how much of that is eating too much

LuckyC I feel you on the job hunting. I moved over here a month or so ago and still haven't managed to lock down a job, need to very soon, no one is gonna hire an obviously prego woman!!

memorylapse · 09/10/2009 12:12

Hi all..did a lot of thinking last night and have decided to try and be positive...I need to will this little bean on..Im going to try not to think about the clot..for now..my goal to get to is 12 weeks, so 2 weeks to go..Im hoping and praying that the clot wont have got any bigger..little bean looked happy on my scan on tuesday so Im holding that thought ...DH said we have to be positive..one thing that amazed me on tuesday was just how much it already looked like a little baby, Ive never had a scan at 9 weeks before..but you could clearly see ts tiny arms and legs, at one point it actually rolled over!

Im feeling very sick again, DH made me cheese on toast last night..bad idea..not nice when it comes back up

hope everyone isnt suffering too much with sickness

tiggsy · 09/10/2009 12:41

hey all, got my scan date, 20th november, flippin ages away!! still spending most of my time hugging the toilet but no results! dd keeps coming and bringing me her juice and fetching her doctors kit to take care of mummy, did wonder how she'd cope with such a useless mummy today but she's being pretty good for a two year old...so far
