LolaAnn · 30/09/2009 21:49

hey 30ish you sound just like me. I don't have MS so it doesn't really seem real for me. Although I do get a little nauseous and have spent weeks in bed thinking i had the flu...

P.S my scalp just started getting spotty too.. what the?! mainly around hairline though

cupcakefairy · 30/09/2009 22:11

Allways- twins, yay! I hope we have some more multiple births on the thread too

Well dh cooked a lovely big dinner of pork, apple and potatoes at 9pm but I was ravenous again by 10 and just ate delicious bowl of Shreddies.. could eat another Have had terrible trapped wind today too, feels like my tummy's doing somersaults.

brightredballoon · 30/09/2009 22:33

James - with DD we definitely only did the deed two days before ovulation and dates worked out right. With DS again we only DTD once that week and I really thought I was ovulating that day as had my usual symptoms.
This time again we DTD on day of ovulation (not that I know exactly when I ovulate but it ties in with my cycles when I get the symptoms so I know roughly).
I also have the same pregnancy symptoms I had with DS. With DD I went straight off booze and craved everything sweet and didnt have any nausea. Skin wasn't bad either. With DS skin was spotty, didn't go off booze (I only had the odd sip now and again later on in the pregnancy), craved savoury things and very cold things.
Also, with DD I got the linea nigra below my belly button and with DS it was above. So I will wait to see if I get one this time!

TomlinTowers · 30/09/2009 23:03

Hi to all the newbies - extra wave to Allways with the twins, how exciting!

Viv - your wedding sounds amazing. I went to a candlelit wedding once - it was 4 days before Xmas and we all had christingles to hold as the bride walked down the aisle, was so romantic....

Hormones have kicked in today - was watching Gok Wan on sky+ and cried when the women walked down the catwalk at the end. How tragic of me.

Nuchal scans - we are offered one up here but we didn't have one with DS1 and won't be having one with this one either. I personally couldn't deal with a high risk result. I don't mean that to sound judgmental of other people's decisions - obviously everyone has to do whatever is right for them and their family, it's a really personal decision. So, just 12 week scan and 20 week anomaly scan and then cross fingers (obv not legs!) and hope for the best!

at SK - why don't they offer a 20wk scan - I thought it was compulsory to offer an anomaly scan. At our 20 wk scan with DS1 they picked up that his tube between his kidney and his bladder hadn't grown properly so I got rescanned at 33wks and thankfully it was all clear but it meant that they could prepare us for what may need to happen which was really useful. I don't think I could cope without the 20 wk scan just for reassurance!

James - I think we conceived either day before or on day of ov - will be able to tell at 12 wk scan I guess, so will be interesting to test your theory! Don't know when we conceived with DS1 but was always convinced I was having a boy - I constantly referred to bump as 'he' and we could only think of boys' names - if DS1 had been a girl [s]he would have been nameless for a loooong time!

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 01/10/2009 08:17

30ish - welcome to the thread!

James - not sure when we conceived! As I've said before, we wrote off this month and only actually had sex once (maybe twice..I can't remember, how bad is that?!?) and I have no idea when it would have been. I'd quite like another girl, mainly because of the practicality (don't want to have to buy loads of new clothes). Although we do have a boys name picked out already

Nuchal scans - I think I'll have one again. We were very low risk with DD. I don't think I've have the amniocentesis even if we were high risk though.

SK - this is only our second and already people who know assume we want a boy, I don't know how you cope with it, must be sooo annoying.

Carikube · 01/10/2009 08:41

Viv - we stayed at the Sarojin as well and it was absolutely stunning, the perfect way to end our holiday (we'd been in Chiang Mai and Bangkok as well). It was so relaxing though be warned - a lot of the female staff will want to come up and stroke your belly if you're showing!

pigleychez · 01/10/2009 09:27

Welcome to Jillywillypop,AllwaysDoingSomething,LolaAnn,30ish

AllwaysDoingSomething- Twins! Wow! Ive had lots of twin comments lately as im huge and there is a family history. Dr told me Twin pregnancy ladies are usually really sick and have really tender boobs and they have twice the hormones.. Is that how it is for you?

SK- about yor friend losing the baby. hope its not swine flu!

Memory- Glad the boiler is going to be fixed!

Viv- Your wedding plans sound fab

James- If you theory is correct the I should be having another girl

Tomlin- I too have found myself rather emotional lately.. Cried my eyes out at 60 minute makeover the other day and just saying goodbye to my mum last night set me off!

I went to visit my parents yesterday (An hours drive away) had a fab day shopping with mum then a family dinner. Didnt get back home till 9pm last night and driving down the M25 whe your knackered is not a good Idea!
We went into a Cadburys outlet shop and could of spent a fortune!! I was restrainted though and only came out with a bag of 20 fingers of fudge!! Embarrassed to say ive just had one too.. and its only 9am!

pigleychez · 01/10/2009 09:28

Please excuse all the missing letters.. I really should proof read before i post!

VivClicquot · 01/10/2009 09:48

Hmmm. Well since the beginning, I've had a funny feeling I'm carrying a girl. Don't know why and can't explain it, but I just thought I was. (Which would please me no end, as I've always wanted a little girl)

Also, the law of averages says it must be a girl as my 9 friends who have had children have managed to produce 12 boys compared with 1 girl.

However, as our scan on Monday showed me to be a couple of days further along than I thought, that means we conceived on the day of ov, so I'm now firmly in the boy camp.

suey2 · 01/10/2009 09:53

Bleurgh! On the loo from4.30 this morning: shouldn't have had extra chili on that pizza!

No idea when I ovulated as my cycle is so irregular.

Welcome to Jillywillypop,AllwaysDoingSomething,LolaAnn,30ish

This thread is HUGE!

Twentiethcenturyheffa sorry sad news. I hope it works out.

Suddenly starving - but can still only eat a couple of things without throwing up - so have had about 8 marmite crackers for breakfast. This is no good!

Viv loving hearing about wedding. Very jealous about honeymoon.

Oh, and no sign of my scan booking yet - will have to chase up. Cannot wait to get it out the way - maybe then I will feel that this is real. Memorylapse I am having Nuchal, at 35.

LuckyC well done for getting stuff down though!! mmm marmite.

Well I woke up this morning with hubbys sore throat. Great. Feel awful and haven't gotten out of bed yet. Not even hungry, and I am always hungry, even when I am sick.. hmmmm.. I know I should eat something but don't want to get out of bed...

AnAngelWithin · 01/10/2009 10:46

ah look how big the thread got!!!
hope you are all well?

I've been off my feet for a few days with a bug. Poor DH had book a spontaneous week off work as well and has ended up looking after me! Feeling a bit better today, just drained and feel sick.

TWINS!!! oooh exciting!!! I would've loved twins earlier on, but not now this one is #5!! I think it will be a girl as its causing me hassle just like my other girls did!!

AnAngelWithin · 01/10/2009 10:50

also wondering if i am going to end up on the june thread? (if at all) 5 days til my scan and hopefully see a heartbeat, seems to be taking forever. I feel so rotten though. Dates just don't all add up

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 01/10/2009 11:10

LuckyC - thanks We don't know what's going to happen atm, but the outlook doesn't sound good.

I have a feeling this one's a girl, I was right last time but I guess there's always a 50/50 chance I'd be right so it probably means nothing.

sweetkitty · 01/10/2009 11:59

Oh more newbies welcome and congratulations, this thread is going to be so hard to keep up with.

Just back from toddlers and there was 2 2 weeks old babies, a 6 week old baby and a 3 month old baby, strange to think I will be having another one, they were SO tiny and gorgeous. Someone said to me "SK you are getting all broody again" so I said "I cannot feel broody with all this morning sickness!" DD3 looks like a big walking girl now not an ickle baby.

tomlin - I know it is rubbish here, apparently one friend didn't have her booking in until 16 weeks and her one and only scan

Better go make DD2 and 3 some lunch cannot be bothered though it's hard to make food when you feel sick.

LuckyC · 01/10/2009 12:05

ooh - anyone had any experience of a doula?

I am starting to think about it and would love to hear your stories if any? I also wonder how midwives feel about doulas?

(I know it's far too early to start freaking out about actually giving birth. I know. But!)

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 01/10/2009 12:09

Angel, I'm sure everything will be ok, fingers crossed for your scan, god doesn't the time drag! Is there no way they can get you an earlier one?

Feeling nauseous today but not throwing up. I didn't really have this with ds so another possible sign it might be a girl? Bit of straw clutching going on here.

Finally gone off coffee too, probably for the best but without my fix I'm extra foggy at the moment! Been drinking pink milk a-la Charlie and Lola instead!

LolaAnn · 01/10/2009 13:05

AnAngelWithin I feel the same.... I haven't had any contact about my scan yet and I really want to know. I could be april/may/june.... far out...

LittleOneMum · 01/10/2009 13:19

james I'm having exactly the same thoughts! Feel much sicker with this one, and am thinking it's maybe a girl... who knows. I am definitely going to find out at the first scan I can!

Feeling truly pants today. Feel sick 24 hours a day and am tired of it.

MinnieMummy · 01/10/2009 14:17

Wow, have been offline for a few days (virus on pc at home) and so much has happened!
Very sorry to hear more people have had to leave .

Another greasy spotty knackered person here.

Can't remember who said they got married in Crowthorne, that's v. v. close to where I grew up - very familiar with that neck of the woods!

Pigley I got married in a Maggie Sotero dress too! We got married in Henley-on-Thames and then took everyone on a big boat down the river straight after the ceremony which was lovely.

LuckyC I had a doula last time, she was great, really helped to have someone completely there for you who was calm etc. (I had a homebirth). To be honest I wasn't really aware of DH during the birth, was aware of the doula and the midwife (second midwife didn't make it on time!).

Well I told my parents (first 'real' people) this week, my dad was thrilled but when I said about how exhausted I am he just said 'Well you knew what you were getting yourself into' and then when I told my mum her first comment was 'Oh, and you just lost all that weight as well!' I just said 'well if I lost it last time then I can do it again!' Thanks Mum!!

sweetkitty · 01/10/2009 15:53

Never thought about a doula, would rather have a cleaner lol

I had an amazing MW last time and hope she is still around this time, she lives 5 mins away from me as well. I was only in proper labour for about an hour, waters went at 2.50am and she was born at 4.25am, if I could get 30 mins this time that would be great keep thinking sod a homebirth, a few days stay in hospital sounds kind of nice, only joking though.

Is more sickness a girl then? This is the roughest I have felt I think?

Carikube · 01/10/2009 16:27

Today is just dire - I don't remember feeling this bad with DD. All I want to do is curl up in a ball and go to sleep as my head is banging and I feel sick but DD is having a difficult day. I feel so terrible I even shouted at her earlier to stop crying which has made me feel even more awful because of course she hasn't got a clue I feel rubbish poor sausage...
