Morning,

I love that shop in York! I get loads of spice packs from there. But haven't been there in a while.

IDOB, Do you know fo any good delicatessens in York? I'm having Mum and her DP round for dinner soon and I'm doing an Italian night.

Got work from half 11 to half 4 and we have a big visit today. I am hoping they have been and gone by the time I start.

Hope everyone is well and that IDOB is in labour.

tinkisautumnal · 06/10/2009 09:08

hi kayz

still cant decide boden or next boden or next!!!!!!!!!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 06/10/2009 10:48

Morning all! No more work for me now... so I've been busy shopping all morning , very unlike me.

I got an email from babycentre today, congratulating me on the arrival of my newborn - hurrumph - its not here yet! How dare it be late?

Technically, I guess its not late until the end of today, but don't feel like anythings about to start happening just yet.

I've got ridiculous heartburn, which I guess means baby is still too high. I'm going to go and have a hot drink, a chocolate brioche and then cuddle back in bed, I've got some catching up to do! Then later this afternoon, I might spend some time on the birthing ball, as its about time I started encouraging this baby on its way.

IDOB - hope you're baby comes soon / is coming already - our LO's are going to be so close together!

Diege · 06/10/2009 11:31

Morning! Just drying off here after horrendous rain this morning, and now the sun us out
IDOB/SKK who will win the baby race??!!! Very exciting (for us) at any rate
Thanks for the code TINKS . Will be doing a bit more shopping with Boden next week. Takes ages to build up wardrobes for 4 of them!
KAYZ, hope work is ok and that you miss the bi (bosses?) visit.
Hi SES, your night does indeed sound very 'full on', not sure I could manage it; you're doing so well
All fine here, mortgage has been approved so we have the house valuation this week - a bit scary it being an old Voctorian heap.. Jacob doing well - 18ib now and moved up to 91st percentile. Also ennjoying his baby rice and fruit with relish and still draining 8 ounce bottles, so think early weaning was indeed right for him.
Looking forward to some baby news soon!

Off to bed now, J very unsettled tonight so expecting a bad one
Night all!

idreamofbeanie · 07/10/2009 07:42

Morning ladies - I appreciate the effort Tink and Diege but you're just not trying hard enough . 10 days overdue and still here. Off to the midwife at 2.30 which should be interesting - she is determined to book me in for an induction on Friday and I am determined to wait until Monday (but will have had enough by then). DP is in a meeting - he offered to miss it to come with me but I said I can say no on my own -but he said he feels he should call the midwife and warn her that right now I am not a woman to mess with .

Diege - hope you didn't have a bad night with J.

essenceofSES · 07/10/2009 07:59

Morning!

IDOB - I completely understand why you want to hold off the induction until Monday. Hope the MW goes with it too and hope that by then you won't need it!

Sparkly - Babycentre email would have really annoyed me. Hope you don't have to wait much longer either.

DS is currently chewing the toes of his sleep suit. Bit better sleep wise last night. His longest stretch was midnight til 3.45am. Tough mummy will appear tonight when the side gets put back on his cot!

Hope everyone else has had a good night.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 07/10/2009 08:36

Morning all - IDOB, what are you up to? Hope you're doing lots of walking - it looks to be a nice start to the day here, so am thinking a nice stroll with the dog, without DS charging around, should be nice and relaxing as well as good for me and baby.

Had a really good nights sleep last night, well, I feel like I did, although I did wake up quite a bit I guess. I seem to be eating about three hourly at the moment, which is stressing me a bit, I enjoy my food, don't get me wrong, but I don't like this constant picking and snacking all the time. I'd rather have a good big meal and then not eat again for a while, but I just can't fit one in!

Anyhoo, have woken feeling quite refreshed today and have tidied the kitchen, which was starting to go downhill after having been at work all week and not doing anything yesterday at all, have also vacuumed the downstairs, tidied the lounge (cleared up DS' toys) and the postie has been already with some of the shopping I've been doing - some cute bookends for DS new bedroom, all I need now is for DH to put some shelves up . I've also got him a 'tool kit' which he's been going on about for ages now, and wrapped it in some Bob the Builder wrapping paper I had left over in the cupboard, and we'll give it to him from the baby. Also, he's been hankering for Diego fuzzy felt so got that delivered at the same time.

I've still got some more stuff on its way, from Big Red Warehouse; a hook for the back of the nursery door, a canvas for DS' room (George the Pirate Pig), a canvas for the nursery to match the hook on the back of the door, and a Disney Cars Junior ready bed for DS when we go travelling (visiting family etc) especially over Christmas. Think DS will be over the moon with the bed, he's obsessed with the Cars film at the moment.

Ses, glad you had a better night last night.

Diege, hope J wasn't as bad as anticipated last night

Thanks for the labour vibes, def. nothing happening here though!

Kay hasn't been on for a while - is she on holiday, or am I just not spotting her posts?

Sparklytwinkletoes · 07/10/2009 08:39

Oh, forgot to say, Big Red Warehouse have got a 20% discount on for this week, you just have to enter 20percent in the voucher code option in the shopping basket to get it.

They have a section of gifts for under £5 and I've ordered a Disney Fairies purse and handbag for my best mates little girl, also to be presented as from the baby, as its my BF that's going to be having DS when labour kicks off, if he's not at nursery.

Can't believe its the beginning of October and I've already bought DS some Christmas / Birthday presents - very unlike me!

maxxymoosmummy · 07/10/2009 09:05

morning all, not been on for a while been busy. off to birmingham tonight to see my sister at uni should be good. altho im silly and forgot about a suitcase so now rushing around asking everyone if they have one i can lend. not good. but hey sure ill find one.
hope babies arrove soon IDOB + STT
glad you had a better night SES
i couldnt sleep due to worrying about a case haha.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 07/10/2009 10:06

Morning- i'm almost back to full health- just got a sore throat now really, oh and a blocked nose still, but thats clearing by the day!!

DD2 is still doing fairly well on the sleep front- she woke twice for a feed last night.

I still have loads to pack ready for our hols- needs to all be done by tomorrow and still need to pack underwear for DS and DH, socks and tights for both girls, PJ's for us all. And everything for the few days either side to stay with MIL!! Can't believe i've left it so last minute!! The most part of the clothing has been packed for weeks- just the extra bits that are getting on top of me!!

IDOB/STT- you both better have them babies before tomorrow otherwise i'll not get to see till i'm back- and we can't have that now can we?!!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 07/10/2009 10:09

Oh Diege- forgot to say, It's such a nightmare making sure all my 3 have enough clothes- let alone adding another to the mix!! Sounds like J is doing fab on the weight front- DD2 is now just under 14lb. She's started eating now too- the other night i was eating and she was screaming at me for something- she normally gets a finger dipped in whatever sauce/juices there are on my plate, but we didn't have any- so i gave her some mash and she munched it- it even had little lumps and she just chomped on them- so she's been eating lunch and dinner since then, trying to stick to just milk for breakfast still though until we're back off hols so we dont need to pack breakfasts too!! Already gotta pack jars and bibs galore!!

tinkbig · 07/10/2009 10:48

morning

good luck idob and sparkly sure it wont be long

cant - glad u r nearly better sounds like u have done well with packing

and good shopping sparkly

had jolly babies good

Diege · 07/10/2009 13:49

Just a quick hello!! Drowning under several large piles of washing - I am living in a (very inefficient) laundry!
Hi to all - CANT, I can imagine the packing, I think... Do you do lists like me?? Not long now!
Back later, hopefully to some baby news!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 07/10/2009 15:42

Jeez guys, you pick your times to bugger off and leave a girl don't you....

Been having regular'ish contractions, for about an hour and a half, but they're not very painful, although they are more painful now than they were an hour and a half ago

Am going to go and have a shower (with my mobile phone) and see if that kills them off, I was in false labour for days with DS so don't want to get too excited too soon!

TMI Alert: Tummy has been clearing out today too...

tinkbig · 07/10/2009 15:47

i am here sparkly good luck sounds good

GruffaloSoldier · 07/10/2009 15:52

hi all

i am lurking too. good luck STT!

sorry I have been AWOL, having a bad time at the mo. hopefully be back on soon.

GC is fine, has cut two teeth at same time and is crawling at lightening speed!eek!

he is 6months next week!where has the time gone?

hope things happen for you soon IDOB

Starshinetiger · 07/10/2009 16:23

Ooh, STT, I'm here lurking (as much as I can with 2 DC home). Sending positive labour vibes your way!

Gruff - sorry to hear you are having a tough time. You know we're here if you need to vent.

idreamofbeanie · 07/10/2009 16:24

STT - queue jumping! How rude ! Just kidding, I hope it's all kicking off for you. Keep us updated.

Gruff - good to hear from you. Can't believe GC is 6 months already, seems like no time since I was reading the birth announcement.

Can't - how's the packing going? Hope you are nearly finished. I'm useless at packing, I keep putting stuff in a bag then taking it all back out to check whether I have too much/little then I forget what is still in there.

Diege - have you finished the washing?

Well I'm just back from seeing the midwife, luckily it was a different one to last week. She had apparantly begged for someone to swap with her - do you think she knew how annoyed I was with her ? Baby is still very active, growing fine and heartbeat is good but she is still not engaged so I have to go and see a consultant on Friday for a quick scan and check up - she thinks they will also do an internal exam and try a s+s then. I have to discuss the induction then but they agreed to wait until Monday for that. This midwife gave me loads more info and talked through the worries I have so although I'm not totally happy about being induced I feel much better and more relaxed than I did last week. Whatever happens I will be a mum by this time next week which is very exciting so I'm just going to focus on that!
