Oh meant to add that J had his first try of baby rice yesterday. There I was faffing about with the spoon, trying to get him use to it before shovelling the stuff in but he just grabbed the spoon and put it into the rice So seems like he's very much leading the way, albeit not textbook BLW

Morning!
We have nothing on today so I'm still in my PJs and have just put O in a clean sleepsuit

Managed to finally get O asleep in his cot at around 10.45 last night. Then got woken up an hour later by the dogs barking. O stayed asleep so I went downstairs and let them outside. The younger one went running round the back garden like a mad thing barking her head off. (Might have to avoid the neighbours today!)
Was finally back upstairs half an hour later and ten minutes after that O woke up! Tried feeding him and putting him back in his cot but he wasn't having any of it so brought him into bed. He then slept until 4.30am and then 7.15am.
Tooth further through today and the first one is now clearly visible when he smiles - I keep getting lots of comments!

Diege - LOL at J's version of BLW

Can't - hope you feel better soon
Oooh! Text from friend asking if I want to meet her for an early lunch! I need to get going and shower and get out of these PJs!!

maxxymoosmummy · 02/10/2009 11:16

i was thinking of having a look online and trying to set one up there DIEGE think ill have a browse now. whilst max is happy playing.

essenceofSES · 02/10/2009 12:04

MMM - I always wish I had an internet account...

Oh well lunch is off as my friend had to be back at work for 12.30 so needed an early lunch and I really need a shower and change out of PJs before I face the We're going to meet up next week instead.
That'll teach me for being so lazy!

I'm browsing the internet for a highchair. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I was thinking of this one with the baby cushion.

Moosy · 02/10/2009 13:14

Morning,

IDOB, hoping that no news is good news! If you're still there then Google Optimum Foetal Positioning, it's never too late to start doing it and it might help get her into a good position and engaging.

Ses, we've never had a highchair, we've had 2 booster seats with removable trays instead as they take up a lot less room in our little house.

tinkisautumnal · 02/10/2009 15:18

hi diege my shopping buddy hope things settle down soon u have been a busy bee

cantmummyhaveabreak · 02/10/2009 15:58

DS got star of the week!!!!!

Diege · 02/10/2009 16:27

That's great CANT . Did he get a certificate?
Hi TINKS! Gearing up for a 5pm visit by buyer and second decorator . I think all my zeal for tidying has disappeared; I have peaked and am now on a slump

SES, my advice for hairchairs would be to keep it simple and buy the least garish looking one of the lot. I first bought an expensive M&P plastic coated all singing and dancing one that looked hideous with our other furniture but ticked all the boxes otherwise. 6 Months later it was encrusted with dried on food in places where you can;t reach it and I hated it. Roll on 4 years and I went to the other extreme and got a trendy wooden jobby with a frog design on the seat. Looked great but poor dd3 slid all over the place on the shiny wood, cue the sticking of a cushion in the back which kind of took away the minimalist feel. I am now looking enviously at the simple but cool looking (and v.cheap) ones in IKEA, but will be sticking with my froggy one to get my money's worth
Right, better try and get that tidying thing back

cantmummyhaveabreak · 02/10/2009 16:41

Ses we have one of these had one with DD1 and it was fab. She loved being at the table with us.

Diege- he got a little goody bag. he's so proud of himself.

essenceofSES · 02/10/2009 16:56

Thanks for all your suggestions re high chair. In a good way, I'm now more confused about what to get! In a good way because I won't rush and get the wrong thing now!

Can't - well done to your DS!!

Diege - any tidying is an achievement in my book Hope all goes well.

I've just had a phone call from my boss. She's moving on to a different role so we've agreed to meet up next Friday to try and get my return to work sorted before she goes. She brought up the possibility of p/t hours so hopefully it'll be nice and straight forward!!

Moosy · 02/10/2009 17:18

Oh Diege, I do love your typos, a hairchair?!

Diege · 02/10/2009 17:43

Hadn't noticed that one MOOS Must be what naughty babies go in (akin to hairshirt).
Buyers have been and gone. Pretty painless, although dds have a tendency to go 'giddy' (in their own words) when strangers come round which is very irritating!
SES, work plans do sound hopeful, and remember you have a legal right to propose p/t hours if that's what you want
Looking forward to the Peep Show tonight on Ch4; anyone else a fan?

idreamofbeanie · 02/10/2009 22:47

Hey all, just popping on quickly before bed to say thanks for all the messages yesterday. I can't believe how upset I got - must be the hormones. Anyway, after a good cry and reading through some of the threads on here I feel much calmer. Loads of ladies have said their babies didn't engage until labour started and they had normal births so I may as well relax until next week. After that if I have to go for the induction I will just make sure someone gives me all the info I want before I agree to anything - I'm a real facts and figures gal and need to feel I understand what is going on or I get stressed.

Well we've just walked the long way into town, had a very hot curry followed by fresh pineapple and now I just need to convince DP to give 1 more method of inducing labour a try . Goodnight.

idreamofbeanie · 02/10/2009 22:48

PS LOL at hairchair - with 3 DDs are you weaving your own furniture after a trip to the hairdressers?

Diege · 03/10/2009 08:40

Did it work IDOB???
Have the buyers coming round again at 10 with an electrician. Cannot sustain this level of tidyness for much longer..
Have just checked my ebay account and on of the outfits (dd3s) I listed last night sold for £50 . Hope I sold it correctly as I had to answer e-mail questions in French...
Right, better get dh up . What is it with men and their lie-ins when it's me who was up in the night???

tinkisautumnal · 03/10/2009 09:04

hi

good luck idob and diege
off to town in a min after shower

Kayzr · 03/10/2009 09:05

Morning!!

I am child free!! It's our neices birthday so MIL has taken the boys off to SIL's for the day!!

Bloody Ebay is driving me mad. Well not Ebay but buyers. Why do I have 15 watchers but no bidders!!!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 03/10/2009 09:16

what you selling Kayz?- i hate when you have loads of watchers and no bids. They'll probably all try and bid at last min!! whereas i have a camera listed- hadn't used it at all, have put it to charge and its not working properly- a brand new camera that aint working- worst of it is that its ending in less than 10mins and i can't end the auction!! Gutted!! Gonna have to pay a final value fee when i wont be able to sell it to the winning bidder in the end anyway!!

Kayzr · 03/10/2009 09:19

I'm selling some boots. I've had loads of people asking me to stop the auction(not sure how) and they'll make me an offer but I said no. Would rather see if they sell.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 03/10/2009 09:26

what would you be happy to get for them? stopping the auction would mean you paid no final value fee- but you run the risk of someone being a nightmare with no ebay for back-up... you'd end it by saying it was sold elsewhere etc...

cantmummyhaveabreak · 03/10/2009 09:48

hoping these arrive before next friday- we've bought DS and DD1 one each for our holiday!! We're gonna fill it with HSM music and other stuff they like ready for the trip- might keep em quiet!!

Diege · 03/10/2009 12:01

They're so cute CANT! I can;t believe your hols have come round to quickly, am very .
Also of you KAYZ with your child-free day. Have you anything planned?

Hi, no news yet. We have spent all day walking around Harewood House so I am really tired now and may have to go for a nap but that hasn't set anything off either. I'll just have to try to be patient .

Can't - hope your parcels arrive

MMM - enjoy your time to yourself today
