Blue I'm sure I'd feel exactly the same in your situation. I hope it goes well for you

I don't know about vacuuming the car but it could certainly do with a wash... only trouble is I can't reach the middle of the roof so it only gets cleaned in parts. Off to the car wash tomorrow [idle]

I am seeing the MW on Weds, and will ask for a sweep then. Assuming nothing has happened of course.

eightisseventoomany · 13/09/2009 23:05

lol at blue76

hehehe
I asked that he bring a cup full to hospital.....but he laughed it off...
Even Bruce willis couldnt produce a cup full !!!!

wasnt till i got home a day later....in times of desperate needs........that I thought about the sex...
realised im in too much pain to get down & funky....
(my DH would prob feel abused too... )

so I offered the cardinal pleasure that no man can refuse...!!!

do you think he could have been offended when I gulped my pint of juice straight after like I would die of dehydration !!!!

with an expression on my face of pure " god....that was repulsive !!" hehehe

I will never make a porn queen ..

lol

Though I make a fantastic whinging pom ...

SoS - at losing your plug/DH's worries, bless him. It's times like this that men's more thoughtful sides emerge, don't you think. I know you're supposed to avoid sex after your waters have gone as the membranes rupture, but not sure about when the plug has come away...

I know this is quite a personal thing to share, but I've avoided sex for the past 6 weeks - been terrified of going into labour early with LO being breech and all. Tad frustrating, to say the least! DP has been fantastic about it.

I did read yday that castor oil can induce labour...

God I'm bloody nervous today! Got lists everywhere for DP and DDs for while I'm in hospital. Can't believe LO will be with me tomorrow.

Lol Blue, I know and I've tried telling him it'd be fine but he won't have it, still it's the first time he's ever refused so I suppose it shows how much he cares, in a weird way

Was having mild contractions last night and throughout the night, thought they might develop into something, but they're still carrying on, but not enough to warrant any worry. So DH has gone off to work again, very gutted bless him as after the show on Saturday he'd got it in his head that we would have a baby by now

I can understand you avoiding sex for the last 6 weeks blue, especially being breech. I really feel for you and will be thinking of you tomorrow, hope it all goes well and DH takes note of all your lists!!

mumsylady I knew that having sex can help induce labour but can just swallowing the man's 'contribution' bring it on??? I hope so for your sake, lol

I have the MW coming out later so fingers crossed things have progressed or that another sweep will do the trick

In the mean time I'm going to vacuum the car and go to the supermarket to get some soda crystals to clean out the washing machine and possibly some castor oil really getting desperate now!! What an exciting day ahead I have

Minshu · 14/09/2009 10:11

Morning!

Mumsylady - all I can say is thanks for sharing

Focus on that positive, blue!! You'll have that babe in your arms very soon. DP and DDs will be fine, and you know it! Or is it better for you to worry about them than the birth? You'll be in good hands, and it's such a positive thing!

My hips ache!! Whinge. Whinge. I am going to see if my yoga DVD will loosen anything up, but having difficulty summoning the energy as I'm breathless just sat still. Pathetic, isn't it?

TigerFeet · 14/09/2009 10:17

mumsylady

2 days over now and increasingly pissed off

Hope tomorrow goes well Blue. Keep making those lists. List making always makes me feel better anyway!

I may give the castor oil a miss for now, although I reserve the right to change my mind if I'm still hanging on in a few days' time. I've been eating loads of pineapple, it may not be doing much good on the baby front but it tastes nice at least

LadyStealthPolarBear · 14/09/2009 11:35

Well just eaten most of a pineapple, not sure but think it may make me wee more Other than that no noticable effect

Snowfalls108 · 14/09/2009 12:04

Hello!

So sweep this morning. First of all I almost passed out as was put lying down on my back -and apparantly lying on your back really does make you go woosy. Glad that lying on my side for the last few months hasn't been a waste. This meant that I had to sit in a more upright position which meant that it was a bit tricky for the midwife to get proper access. She had a good go, was pretty uncomfortable but not too bad. My bishops score was pretty rubbish - just 3. I wasn't dilated at all, and the cervix was pretty firm. It wasn't far back though, which was one positive.
So booked to see the consultant tomorrow, at which she might give me another sweep. And then an appointment to see the midwife next Tuesday - seriously if I'm still pregnant next Tuesday someone is in trouble .
The midwife did say that the consultant might book be in for an induction before that. So I guess it all depends!
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
It's so frustrating.

mummy2t · 14/09/2009 12:19

whats the bishops score, how can i be on my 3rd baby and no naff all about been pregnant!!!! fingers crossed for everyone, hope it happens soon xxxxxxxx

SprinkleofStardust · 14/09/2009 12:58

Midwife has just been and done another sweep, things have progressed a tiny bit but not that much I had the bishops score done on my first sweep (a 4) but she didn't do one today, which is annoying. I had to really push her to get anything from her and even then it seemed like she didn't want to trust me with the information iykwim? Quite annoying. She basically told me to relax about it all and not worry about it (easy for her to say) and then said that if they hadn't heard from me by next monday they'd come out and book me in for an induction

So I'll carry on downing the RLT and burning Clary Sage constantly (my house stinks of it, lol) and eating pineapple, oh and I asked her about 'sex after show' and she said it's fine, so I'll be jumping aboard DH later on

Have just had post and Asda are having a baby and toddler event 15th-27th September, good bargains to be had by all

LadyStealthPolarBear · 14/09/2009 13:02

Snowfalls, sorry you had a bad time at the sweep, hope it works for both you and SoS.
What's this about clary sage and where do I get it??

JRocks · 14/09/2009 13:08

Hello everyone, still stuck in hospital as we're both a bit poorly, Madok Christopher (for that is his name ) is on neo natal being looked after. Today I spiked a temp and am now on antibiotics. This bedside computer is doing my head in so will post birth stuff another time...it really was quite an event!

really hope you all get going soon so we can all be post natal together

xx

LadyStealthPolarBear · 14/09/2009 13:26

Lovely name Hope the antibiotics work quickly, and you are both discharged soon. Sounds like you've had a rough time, both of you

SprinkleofStardust · 14/09/2009 13:32

Sorry to hear your not well and neither is DS JRocks, although loving the name I have to say!! Really hope you're both on the mend soon xx

Stealth, my yoga teacher told me that Clary Sage can help aid labour and my mum also found out that geranium oil also did something so I'm burning both, it's not unpleasant I have to say!! I got the oils from holland and barrett and borrowed a burner from my mum I'll try absolutely anything now really!! How are you doing anyway, other than being full of pineapple

LadyStealthPolarBear · 14/09/2009 13:35

keep having twinges but I'm sure they're imaginary, not regular in the slightest and probably just the baby wriggling. Wishful thinking

eightisseventoomany · 14/09/2009 13:48

Sending JR
hope you both get to go home soon.....no doubt you have a lovely crib just waiting for Madok

cannot believe so many ladies waiting in this queue for a baby !!!!!!

And am imagining all these terrified dh's up & down the country being offered lurrvvv for the first time in probably 9 months..hehehehe.....and petrified of causing damage to their unborn child...

Just to mention sprinkle
I was advised in my previous pg's not to use castor oil to speed things up....but cant recall why now.....so will look up on the web....see if can find anything....

good luck to all ladies...lets hope a few more arrivals tonight xxxxx

LadyStealthPolarBear · 14/09/2009 13:51

yes I'd also been told castor oil was a very bad idea - was too much of a wimp anyway!

blue76 · 14/09/2009 13:54

Thank you all for your kind wishes

Congrats Jrocks - I hope you both have a speedy recovery

Oh God, I shouldn't have mentioned castor oil. Sitting here bored, so thought I'd research it a bit. It works by stimulating your bowel, which in turn stimulates the uterus (due to it causing severe diarrhea and vomiting). It can also cause LO to have a bowel movement, which is really NOT good. Just thought I'd post this as I'd feel terrible for mentioning it and something awful happening to someone. Much better to let things happen naturally than cause harm to yourself or baby.

OP posts:
Snowfalls108 · 14/09/2009 13:56

on the castor oil front - we were told that it was horrible way to bring on labour as it will make you feel very sick. So perhaps best to avoid.

mummy2t · 14/09/2009 13:58

congrats Jrocks!!! xxx

eightisseventoomany · 14/09/2009 14:19

not sure if this would help??

how to induce labour

LadyStealthPolarBear · 14/09/2009 14:28

lol at "wear your beat knickers"
Like I fit into anything other than the cheap ones I bought from tesco for late pregnancy

eightisseventoomany · 14/09/2009 14:40

and notice how it mentions that swallowing is more effective

So hopefully it wasnt in vain !!!
hehehe

but never again ...

nitnat84 · 14/09/2009 15:39

well due today and baby has only just begun engaging 1/5 in 4/5ths out! Booked me in for a weeks time for stretch and sweep (so do not fancy that!)
Feel a bit down now! No progress in 2 weeks

LadyStealthPolarBear · 14/09/2009 15:50

oh nitnat I know how you feel. Hopefully things will get kick started for us all soon and happen quickly (but not too quickly )
I just wish there was some way of knowing...if I knew this baby was going to be another week, fine, but it's the "it could be any second now, or the 26th September" feeling that's wearing me down.
