I know Keep thinking well the signs have to start at some point!
I did almost post a thread in childbirth the other day to ask if all babies definitely do come out. Was serious at the time, can't quite remember my logic now!

LJ29 · 11/09/2009 14:11

Hi ladies, I've been for reflexology this morning and although it created a few cramps she doesn't think little one is ready to come out yet so it definitely won't be me winning the race for Saturday.

TMI Alert! Since my sweep on Wednesday I have been having a continuous bloody show, just mucousy discharge really but wondering how long this should last? Any ideas?

LadyStealthPolarBear · 11/09/2009 14:18

no idea for that, sorry LJ.
Why do you think you're not ready?? Cramps and show sounds promising to me!

peachygirl · 11/09/2009 14:18

Hi all,
Zoe (probably Bobbie)was born 9.9.09 at 8.59pm. 3 weeks early and weighing 4lb.11
I got my VBAC with very little pain relief (not my choice)

We are home now. Big sister Maya is as giddy as a kipper.

Love to all in cyber space

LadyStealthPolarBear · 11/09/2009 14:21

Congratulations peachygirl
And especially congratulations on the 9/9/9 birth!

audreyraines · 11/09/2009 15:12

woo hoo to the 9/9 birthday. congrats peachy!

my goodness, i really feel like i'm going to be the last.

blue76 · 11/09/2009 15:16

Congrats peachygirl! You should tell people she was born at 9pm too!

Went for pre-op and presentation scan today. Guess what...she's breech again. So she'll be born on tues 15th. Really excited but do feel worried about recovery...

Anyhoo...I hope everyone's well

I've got a huge bag full of maternity clothes - different sizes/styles. Wonder if there's a way of putting them on ebay but not charging for them, iyswim. Was thinking if anyone's desperate for stuff and doesn't want to fork out at this late stage...

Congratulations Peachygirl!!

Lol at the thread you nearly posted Stealth, I can see why you wanted to though, I'm starting to wonder if he will actually come out ever or if it's not a baby and just a big Malteser as the bump is so round!!

LJ29 I had a bloody, well, more of a discoloured discharge, literally just before the sweep and it's continued since, but it's not really mucus-y so I don't know if it's a show or what it is really. But it's only been today so don't know how long it will continue. The midwife did say though that a show can come bit by bit, so I suppose it could take a while to come out completely. Sorry, not the most helpful there!!

LadyStealthPolarBear · 11/09/2009 15:34

sorry to hear that blue but at the 15th - did you realise that's next Tuesday
(sure you didn't need me to tell you!)
About the maternity clothes, can you freecycle them or put something on MN local to say free to anyone to pickup? You could even hijack a few antenatal threads

LadyStealthPolarBear · 11/09/2009 15:38

I'm sure I just have wind and have eaten too many biscuits. If it wasn't for hobbling like an old woman whenever I've been sitting / lying in one position too long I'd be convinced!

BTW - any first timers. I remember from last time being absolutely amazed at how much better I felt / more energy I had after giving birth - even sleep deprived. I think the pregnancy exhaustion / aches and pains (normal I mean, not SPD related, know nothing about that) creep up on you gradually so you just accept them, and then overnight they go. I remember thinking how I hadn't even realised how bad I'd been until I was better. Just thought I'd throw in something cheery

SprinkleofStardust · 11/09/2009 16:17

Thanks Stealth, I for one definitely needed something to cheer me up as I'm sitting here feeling more and more fed up, thinking that this weekend isn't going to be as exciting as I hoped it would be

So sorry your labour isn't going to be what you wanted it Blue, but at least you do know that come Tuesday you will be holding your LO in your arms and will join all the others on the 'other side'

mummyhill · 11/09/2009 16:47

Congratulations Peachy.

JRocks · 11/09/2009 17:03

Hoping for something similar Bexaa. I'm off out with a midwife tonight so will try and pick her brains. Thanks for letting me know about what size babygros. My last baby was 9lb 14.5oz so haven't even bothered buying neworn this time!

JRocks · 11/09/2009 18:15

bexaa - i don't know really, i think so if i'm just going to be hanging around here. but then it would be nice to start by myself too.

blue76 · 11/09/2009 18:18

Ah Jrocks - hope you're ok

LSP - yeah I'll probably freecycle the clothes.

Ok so I've forgotten once again who it is that lives on the Wirral...

Jrocks - are you on the same ward as other newborns? When I was admitted on Tues, I had regular cx's for 4 hrs - was convinced it was the sound of the babies crying. I asked a mw the next day and she said it can set you off....so you never know!

OP posts:
JRocks · 11/09/2009 19:55

no, the antenatal ward is below post natal. you do hear some crying through the window but mostly i can hear someone puffing through contractions and someone else that sounds like she might cough up a lung soon...

still waiting to see a dr, bp is going up and down like a yo-yo

LadyStealthPolarBear · 11/09/2009 20:36

Hi JR, hope your bp settles down and you have your baby soon

SprinkleofStardust · 11/09/2009 22:58

JRocks, hope everything calms down for you and you at least get some sleep with someone coughing right by you!!

bigbang · 12/09/2009 05:55

Congratulations peachygirl! Glad you got your vbac and that Maya is happy to have a little sister!

Well I have just been woken by some very strong movements/contractions. Was half asleep and couldn't figure out what the pain was lol so not sure what is going on. I had a big show, though no blood last night too... Just bouncing on my ball now seeing if anything comes of it. No doubt I will still be sitting here in two weeks time bouncing away trying to avoid induction!

Having gone 9 days over with ds and then being induced I am a bit about going into labour naturally, I don't think my body can do it. We shall see!

Hope you got some sleep Jrocks and the bp settles soon.

Hope everyone is alright! Lovely to read the birth stories, a bit of inspiration. There is actually a baby in there and it will be coming out soon... one way or another...

Let's hope this is it for you, Bigbang! I've just got up cos I was just lying there wide awake. Not liking these dark mornings! I went into labour with both DDs at this time in the morning - the day after a show.... Good luck
