Bexaa he is so cute. I was just wondering as I am expecting another big baby and can't remember from last time, what size babygro's are you using?

Congratulations to Bexaa and LittleCheese!!

Feel like a bit of a fraud on this thread now, every MW and Dr I've seen say he was actually about 10 days late!! Only going by his 'clean and dry' look at birth though so not sure how accurate that is!

Hypnobirthing definately worked! Breathed my way to 10cms in the pool, MW wasn't convinced when I said I needed to push, until she had a look! Had to go up to the labour ward as HB was slowing with each contraction, that ride in the wheelchair was the worst part altogether! Had to have a few puffs of the G&A just to get out of the chair onto the bed, wanted to breath him out as it should be done but he was just a little too big, and as they were waving the forceps in my face and saying that unless I pushed they would be used, push I did, no G&A as no time!
It was a really lovely calm experience and he is totally gorgeous, black hair and big blue eyes...ahhh

BF still not great, the pain is toe curlingly awful have had loads of advice from BF counsellors and they were great in the hospital, but even though his latch is perfect the pain continues. Milk is in now, so will carry on for another few days, just in case it's a supply thing. (never thought I would have boobs this size, 34b to 40d!!)

Hope everyone is doing well, and birthing vibes to those who are ready!

LadyStealthPolarBear · 09/09/2009 08:05

sounds like a lovely birth daffodilli!
Off to read my hypnobirthing book again

blue76 · 09/09/2009 09:30

I've had a quick read over the past couple of days' posts - photos are lovely

Typing from hospital bed. Came in yday for a scan to see where LO was and she was transverse. I've been kept in as there's a risk to baby if my waters go. Hopefully find out later if I can go home.

Well done to all the ladies who have delivered....and another birth announcement here.....

.....Harry was born at home yesterday at 2.21pm weighing 7lb 9.5oz after a 5 hour labour. All well, feeding well and just waiting for milk to come in now so he'll settle for more than 20 mins

JRocks · 09/09/2009 10:29

congratulations detoxdiva!

Off for sweep this afternoon

Wonder if anyone will deliver today, 09/09/09 has got to be one of the easiest dates to remember

SprinkleofStardust · 09/09/2009 10:48

Congratulations detoxdiva, sounds like a lovely birthing experience!!

Good to hear the hypnobirthing worked daffodilli

Poor you, Blue, hope you can come home soon, or at least have your LO!

Doesn't look like I'll be having an 09/09/09 baby

LadyStealthPolarBear · 09/09/2009 11:14

Congratulations detoxdiva

congrats everyone, all births sound lovely - i am very jealous!!! doubt i'll be having a 09/09/09 either. at this rate i'll be lucky if she is here 09/09/10!!!

SprinkleofStardust · 09/09/2009 12:27

I'm so bored... I'm cleaning the windows

Minshu · 09/09/2009 12:37

Fabulous to hear the positive birth stories, bexaa (apart from tear) and daffodilli. I'm listening to my hypnobirthing CD most days so hope it works for me, too. Not sure about the birthing pool thing - baths always leave me feeling weak and sleepy, so may not be conducive to birth.

Congratulations, detoxdiva! Welcome, Harry!

Oh, blue - hope that you can go home soon, or that something positive happens.

I went up to the hospital last night and was reassured that the baby is now central, but not yet engaged, so the risk of cord prolapse is minimised. They still want me to go up to the consultant-led unit if my labour starts within the next two weeks. I have another appointment with the obstetrician then, when I'll be 40 + 2. My biggest concern was that, while the local mw unit is never more than 5 minutes drive from home, the consultant led unit is at least 30 minutes, and can be about an hour if you get the wrong time of day, and the registrar scared me into thinking that would be too long and the baby would be at risk in that time (DP tells me that's not what was actually said, but just how I interpreted it in my panicked state). Anyway, now that the baby is central it wouldn't really matter if it did take up to an hour to get there. Phew!

LadyStealthPolarBear · 09/09/2009 12:39

that's a relief Minshu
Yes, I'm the same about a water birth, don't find baths relaxing, just want to be dry

LadyStealthPolarBear · 09/09/2009 12:42

Right, think I'm having tightening / BHs, but it might just be the baby squirming. Thought I was meant to know this stuff second time around??

Minshu · 09/09/2009 12:51

Thought it was just me - if I'm feeling a bit stiff or achey or ill, getting in a warm bath feels lovely at first, but then I just want to get out within a few minutes and feel drained for the rest of the day.

Fingers-crossed that it is something, LadyStealth!!

I'm not feeling nesty, but not as CBA as yesterday. I think it's the sunshine - it's lovely here.

LadyStealthPolarBear · 09/09/2009 12:54

yes here too (which isn't really that surprising)
Right, we're off to a farm - DS has watched the whole Beebies cycle and I'm feeling very guilty

SprinkleofStardust · 09/09/2009 13:23

Hope it turns into something for you LadySPB, if it does then I'm definitely changing my name to Lady!! Have fun at the farm, sounds more exciting than cleaning windows!!

Weather is lovely here too, would be great to sit in the garden with a Pimms!!

SprinkleofStardust · 09/09/2009 14:35

Ok, Midwife has just been round and my BP is up and there's protein in my wee. I'm also quite swollen so I'm off to the hospital to be checked out. Sure it will be ok as I feel alright, but will let you all know when I'm home again, with or without LO, hopefully without as I really want a HB

LadyStealthPolarBear · 09/09/2009 15:07

Oh, hope everything is OK SoS - will wait to hear from you

JRocks · 09/09/2009 16:28

Hope you're ok SoS, I've come back from consultant appt with bp up and protein in urine too. Sweep was painful and prob won't amount to anything but I do feel crampy. I've been booked in for induction on Monday, but can delay this if I want to, unless my other symptoms say otherwise.

It all seems a bit more 'real' now I don't know what planet I've been on

blinder · 09/09/2009 16:35

Well apparently my cervix is pretty much clamped shut (1cm but this is basically closed for a second timer), posterior, tubular and firm. Slightly uncomfortable sweep.

MW has already booked me in for an induction on the 14th day.

I was really hoping to be a nice and stretchy 3cms already. Irrationally disappointed now.

Ladyem · 09/09/2009 16:37

Congratulations detox! Another nice quick labour!! And welcome to Harry!

Good luck jrocks! Hope the sweep works! There's still time for a 09/09/09 baby!

ladystealth hope that means there's something happening! Keep us posted!

Hope you are allowed home soon blue. sos good luck at the hospital!

Thanks for all of your supportive comments re breastfeeding! We've been for a picnic today and managed to feed DS outside with no problems, although I kept looking round to see if anyone was looking (they weren't!).

"real" you say, JRocks? Still waiting for my flight back from the other planet, I think, in spite of medical appointments, squrimy baby, etc.

Sorry that things aren't moving as you'd like, Blinder.

Good on you for feeding in the great outdoors, Ladyem!
