Good on you, Blinder!! Sorry to hear that you?ve been here under false pretences all along , but feel free to stay around

Sure the walk will have done you good, TrixieVix ? hope mw was good to you.

Well done, TrixieBelden. You have certainly put me to shame.

Ah ? she?s gorgeous, LittleCheese ? hope the feeding issues get resolved soon.

I?ve not had an afternoon nap as the roofer has been here. I have managed to finish knitting one bootee and am about to start on the second. Feel as knackered as if I?d been out on the roof myself.

I think I might have lost a bit of mucus plug, but could be imagining things and it was just normal stuff. A bit of BH going on, too, and baby keeps sticking her bottom out from under my rib cage in a comical fashion (unless that?s wind).

Thanks for that link, LadyStealth, but I could lose the rest of the afternoon...

Hi everyone,
Lovely photos of the babies.
Things fine here, haircuts and midwife this morning.

MW was lovely and very positive about trying for the VBAC and my attitude towards it.

Again I was measured and again I am under, 34cm but 37 weeks today. Again they said if I was still like this at 39 weeks when I see the GP I may be sent in, TBH what can they do at that point????

She and the student were quite interested in my lopsided bump. There is a clear distinction as to where baby is and what feels to be a empty left side and then on the right hand lots of baby.
I don't look lopsided unless I am lying down but it is very strange.

blinder · 08/09/2009 16:08

LadySPB I am crying at that thread! Ow ow ow!

LadyStealthPolarBear · 08/09/2009 16:23

me too! Keep settling down to read "just one more" and before I know it another hour has passed

Ladyem · 08/09/2009 16:48

Gorgeous photos babylady and littlecheese!!

Must get some on of my new addition!

Sending birthing vibes to all those in the race for Saturday!! I've certainly forgotten what it is like to be pg and its only been 2.5 weeks!! Wasn't sure that the feeding was going well, but had DS weighed today and he's gone from 6lbs 6oz 11 days ago to 7lbs 8oz!! So I'd say that he's getting plenty!! Had my Mum and her partner down last week to help with DD while DH was back at work and they were fab, but have made me very self-conscious about breast feeding. So much so that I kept having to leave the room to feed DS as my Mum made comments like 'yes, I know it's natural, but it doesn't look nice, does it?' . DH was so angry about this. Now I'm so self conscious about feeding in front of other people. And I'm very discrete, using breastfeeding tops and draping muslins over etc.

Was my b-day last tuesday and I had my first curry in 9 months (went off garlic, chillies and anything with any flavour while pg!!)!! Was fantastic!!! Have been eating all my fave foods with a vengeance in the last couple of weeks, so not likely to be dropping the remaining baby weight any time soon!!

ladystealth thanks for the link, I've just managed to while away the last hour reading through them all!!

LadyStealthPolarBear · 08/09/2009 17:00

Oh no LadyEm - what not to say to a new mother

Ladyem · 08/09/2009 17:11

I know! I keep trying to tell myself that it's her issue, but makes life very difficult if whenever she is there I have to leave the room to feed! My Dad also made 'Little Britain' remarks about how long I was planning on breast feeding! I can't win!! I have nothing against bottle feeding (did combined feeding with DD) but it would help to some support in my decision to BF!! Luckily DH is very supportive.

OK, rant over!!!

Have uploaded some pics of DS!!

LadyStealthPolarBear · 08/09/2009 17:17

That sounds awful! At least the most important person is supportive (your DH) and you know you're doing the right thing in ignoring the rest!
Off to look at photos

LadyStealthPolarBear · 08/09/2009 17:19

he's lovely too - I love the sleepy one! And the one with your DD

LadyEm! at that reaction from your own mother? It shouldn?t be your problem that she?s embarrassed, especially in your own home. The lady that came in to ?demonstrate? for the ante natal bf class said that she?d not had a single negative reaction in the year she?d been doing it in public. And a two and a half week old is hardly ?Bittie? territory (tbh your Dad sounds like he should be easier to ignore ?) Happy Birthday for last week!

Love the pictures!!

My entire middle is tired this afternoon.

TrixieBelden · 08/09/2009 18:06

Oh Ladyem I feel for you. I had an awful time bfing DD at the beginning and hearing anything unsupportive made it that much harder. My dad was totally grossed out by the bfing and would leave the room when I did (once he suggested I do so, but after a curt 'No' from me he got the message). I was so hurt that he didn't appreciate that I was trying to do what I thought was best for my baby.

Anyway -- good for you for not being more bothered by your mum's attitude.

(When I had DD, my social circle, for reasons of geography and socioeconomics and whatever, generally felt that formula was akin to neat bleach, and I was utterly cowed by the peer pressure. Knowing what I do now, I'm hard pressed to believe for certain that bfing is automatically superior to ffing. For me, once I got over the initial agony of bad latching and nipple infections and all that, the convenience of bfing was the best part, and why I intend to do it again.)

Meanwhile I'm having quite strong cx here and am wondering if they'll even out on a more regular schedule tonight. You know, now that I've got the hedges trimmed and everything.

LadyStealthPolarBear · 08/09/2009 18:37

oooh Trixie!
Am also having bump pains but think it's more likely to be the curry (mild) and hunching over to eat it. If I don't come back don't make any assumptions - I will be passing out on the sofa as soon as DS goes to bed

SprinkleofStardust · 08/09/2009 18:46

How exciting Trixie, hope they turn into something, maybe your LO just couldn't contemplate coming out until the bushes had been trimmed?

Ladyem, that's terrible that your feeling so unsupported, especially by your mum and in your own home, good for you to stay strong and ignore them!!

I'll be the first person in our family to try bfing, so not 100% sure of the reaction when I'm actually doing it, although everyone knows it's what I'm planning. My sister did say to Mum that she was worried I would 'lob my boob out in public' and wasn't sure what she'd do... that is not my plan btw

Loving the photo's, although I now feel like I will never have a LO to put photo's of on!!

Right I'm off to read the other thread...

LadyStealthPolarBear · 08/09/2009 18:59

You lob all you like - there are only 3 people who matter when it comes to feeding babies - the baby, the mother and the father. If anyone else has a problem they can amuse themselves until you're done or look away

so...you got broody when you stopped when she was 16mo - and now you're 9 months pregnant, how old is she?

LadyStealthPolarBear · 08/09/2009 19:07

sorry that sounded a little odd - just found it funny that the result of your broodiness is on its way

ok, i am jealous! still pregnant, fed up want baby to arrive!!!!!!! other 2 were early so i think this one should behave and turn up early too! how is everyone else, srry for moa but i think if i moan once moreto DH he might divorce me!!

SprinkleofStardust · 08/09/2009 20:00

I will embrace the lobbing as I feel fit to do thanks for the encouragement, I do feel a tad nervous about it all as like I said no one else in our family BF, I am a pioneer, lol!!

Have read some of that thread, very funny, been reading them to DH and we've both been giggling lots, still not started anything though it has reminded me of when I was about 12 weeks PG and only been in my job 14 weeks ("oops") I asked my boss if she wanted to come for a walk to the shop, saying as she had been at her desk all morning it would do her good to 'spread her legs'

Snowfalls108 · 08/09/2009 20:08

aw loving the photos everyone.
Also makes me insanely jealous.
Have had a definate nesting session this afternoon - felt compelled to go and buy lots of cleaning products and then spent the afternoon using them. Hoping that means something is on its way.

Shocked about bad reactions to bfing. I've never come across anything negative, and my family have all done it. Will be interested to see what the reactions are to me from general public.
