Am quite dismayed after a night of strong cramps and some contractions I wake up to find it's all slowed down again. Aargh!

Have a good weekend ladies!

(Might seek out a comedy later - thanks for the tip blue!)

MrsChemist · 05/09/2009 12:14

Conglatulations Babylady and welcome to Toby!

peachygirl · 05/09/2009 13:19

Blue if the ECV was so bad you have probably made the right choice. Your friends are right an elective section is so much easier to cope with than an emergancy.

Mine was very calm and I really do not feel that I missed out on a birth experience. I onluy wished I had looked the the notes I had before and sorted out my lady garden!!

Been a bit twingy again here but know it's nothing but DH has offered to 'take'DD for the afternoon (how generous of him) and I'm going to pack my bag properly...Oh the excitement!!

mumtobe23 · 05/09/2009 16:22

Hello all, congrats to those that have popped and those of us still waiting- i haven't had access to the net so have been away for a few weeks so sorry if i've missed any important news, will try and read back through.
Well my due date was the 4th (yesterday) but has come and gone with no signs of anything! HURRY UP BABY and its only 1 day over due!!!
Not sure if its been said already but how annoying is it getting all the texts and calls from people asking if baby has arrved yet. I'vetold EVERYONE i will let them know when shes arrived and I know people are just excited but close family & friends who should know they'd get a call when things do finally kick of shuld know better then to keep asking!
Anyway, heres hopng we all have happy healthy babies soon & enjoy the already new additions xxx

blinder · 05/09/2009 16:56

I'm with you mum2be. Also 40+1 today and sick to the hind teeth of the texts. Any news? Any sign? Anything to report? No. No. No. No sign. No but I'll let you know. NO!

Hormonal much ?

MW appointment today and had a quick unofficial scan in which I saw the back of bay's head! Yippee!

But no, no sign of labour .

blinder · 05/09/2009 16:56

'baby's head' sheesh

Minshu · 05/09/2009 17:53

I'm only 37+4, so no annoying texts coming through yet. However, when I was "only" 34 or 35 weeks, a colleague asked DP if I was on the vindaloos, and other (exclusively childless) people at work have been offering similar advice (pineapple, sex). Why would they think deliberately triggering a premature labour for no good reason would be a good idea? And they all knew I wasn't due, 'cos I am their boss and was still in the office, ffs. And, being their boss, why would I want them telling me to have sex

People!! Sometimes I just hate people

daffodilli · 05/09/2009 18:40

Birth Announcement!!! Archie Llewellyn was born on Thursday 3rd Sept at 10.52pm, 5 hour labour, weighing 8lb 4oz!
Haven't read thread at all yet, just home from hospital (bf ishoos), so will do catch up later - hope everyone is well x x

audreyraines · 05/09/2009 18:43

congrats daffodilli! so happy for you. hope the bf issues get sorted quickly.

Snowfalls108 · 05/09/2009 19:06

Congratulations to all! Very jealous

blinder · 05/09/2009 19:11

YAY daffs! Did the hypnobirthing work??? Congratulations and welcome to Archie! x

SprinkleofStardust · 05/09/2009 19:33

Congratulations Daffodilli and welcome Archie!!

LittleCheese, no I'm not in York I'm in Evesham, Worcestershire, the maize maze is in the cotswolds, not far from us. We were in there for 2 hours in the end and I was getting quite strong BH's but nothing since other than being absolutely knackered!!

We've not had the texts and calls asking if anything's happened yet but every time we ring someone (either DH or myself) we get a questioning 'everything alright?' or 'is something happening?' DH's mum got very excited this morning when he rang her and just shouted down the phone 'Is she in labour???' I feel like I'm not allowed to ring anyone now until something is actually happening, my mum's been getting palpitations in her anticipation, she told me I 'had no idea the stress she was under!'

Right I'm off to watch stupid people on X Factor and hope that laughing at them will help bring something on (loving that tip, Blue!!)

Ladyem · 05/09/2009 21:09

Congratulations Daffodilli!! Lovely news! I hope that the feeding issues get sorted soon and that you are enjoying getting to know Archie! (Love the name, by the way!)

yay bexaa, well done.

I'm overdue on Wednesday Little Cheese, so I'll join you then.

LadyStealthPolarBear · 06/09/2009 07:50

Congratulations dafodilli and bexaa

blue76 · 06/09/2009 08:15

Congratulations Daffodilli and Bexaa

Peachy - are you due to have a cs this time round? I'm feeling quite relaxed now, just don't want to go into labour before 15th, as it won't feel as planned then. So frightened of her bottom coming out

Sprinkle - did that French bloke bring anything on for you? How crap funny was he??? LOL

I'm sorry to hear that most of you are being nagged by friends/relatives for birth news. I'm in the other boat. When people ask how long I've got left and I tell them 2 weeks, they say, 'Oh you look like you've got ages to go!' It adds to the fact that I don't feel ripe yet, iyswim. LO feels so tiny. Just hope she hangs on that extra week to gain a bit more weight.

Congratulations Daffodilli & Bexaa
WOW Bexaa on the size of Charlie

newbie36 · 06/09/2009 08:54

I've been on this thread intermittently since the beginning, finding it always a huge support especially during those awful days weeks of morning sickness and it's wonderful to start hearing the little ones are starting to appear! Massive congratulations to all with new arrivals. I finally finished work on Friday, at 37 weeks and 1 day. Felt like I was crawling to the finish line at the end of last week!! Like you blue76 I have another couple of weeks to go. I think I'll reach my due date (24th) and if I'm not in labour by then will be doing everything I can to bring it on (my local Tesco might have to get a bulk order of pineapple in just in case )

detoxdiva · 06/09/2009 09:08

Ooooh congratulations to Babylady, Dafodilli & Bexxa....hope you're all doing well.

Ladyem · 06/09/2009 10:05
