all these false labours that don't go anywhere must be so frustrating. let's hope they make the actual labour so much shorter and easier.

LittleCheese · 03/09/2009 18:28

april you totally have my sympathy's so similar to me on monday night. I have given labour up as a bad job and resigned myself to the fact I will be pregnant and miserable the rest of my life

JRocks · 03/09/2009 19:07

It's mad how so many of us are in the 'is it? isn't it?' situation, I'm getting on and off contractions most of the time, and in the evenings they seem to get really regular and uncomfortable, then peter out. I'm soooo frustrated, just want to get on with it and meet my baby.

I suppose at least I have a sweep to look forward to on wednesday....

audreyraines · 03/09/2009 19:36

well if crying over ridiculous things all afternoon is a sign of impending labour, i may well start tonight!

JRocks · 03/09/2009 20:01

hope so audrey!

AprilMeadow · 03/09/2009 21:07

It's so frustrating isnt it LittleCheese!

I have just had a lovely warm bath with clary sage in it. Not sure if its done anything but the cx'/tightenings have started up again - i'm still so annoyed about yesterday that i'm not even going to time them! I working on the 'if this is it' then i will be doubled up in pain, so until then i am in ignoring mode

Going to go bounce on my ball and watch something crap on tv

Sending labour vibes to all those that want them xx

peachygirl · 03/09/2009 21:10

Hi everyone

Minshu thank goodness for the midwife who likes things to be normal.
Back to work for me I spent the day with my cover and we got lots of planning and tidying done. I'm sending her up the stepladder tomorrow.

I had lots of lovely comments about my bump and looking bloomiing, quite a lot of stroking though

Finger crossed these labours get started soon.

SprinkleofStardust · 03/09/2009 21:20

Well I have nested to the extreme, I've cleaned my friends oven and my own today, bleached the kitchen sink, ruining my favourite maternity top (why I didn't change it I don't know!!), scrubbed the floor and cleaned all the cupboards and doors inside and out... I started this at 5pm and just finished now, all I have left to do now is clean the windows!

Was getting pains across my thighs every half an hour so thought maybe this is it, but other than a very tight bump nothing else has happened.

Glad you haven't had to stay in Minshu and hope things happen before you get too stressed out Twinkle.

Audrey, I had a massive crying fit the other day, just sobbed and sobbed for 15 mins on DH, felt much better afterwards though

MrsChemist · 03/09/2009 22:17

Congrats Neddie, TLQ and Bratnav!

Just lying on my sofa next to LO's basket. It's taken over a week, but aside from my stitches, I am feeling fantastic (I look like shit though).
Baby is a very chilled little boy and sleeps most of the time, so me and DH have been able to get reasonably good sleep. I give it about a week before he is screaming the place down, so I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

Does anyone know a good way to get my stitches healing quicker? Not being able to sit down properly is getting a little irksome.

audreyraines · 04/09/2009 01:40

Congrats Mrs Chemist, how lovely.

April, I think the key is definitely ignoring until it's not possible anymore. I'm tired of analysing every twinge.

Fingers crossed the full moon works some magic today. I can't sleep as usual!

LadyStealthPolarBear · 04/09/2009 06:23

Hi MrsC, glad things are going well

blinder · 04/09/2009 08:35

40 weeks today for me... But baby feels very content where she is. No twinges, show, fluid, aches or anyfink.

DS first day back to school. Would be so lovely to have his little sister for him when he comes home [sigh].

Bring on the full moon voodoo girls.

AprilMeadow · 04/09/2009 08:47

Congratulations Blinder on reaching your due date!

LadyStealthPolarBear · 04/09/2009 09:55

i wanna baby

ended up buying a whole pineapple today - well even if it doesn't work I like pineapple!

AprilMeadow · 04/09/2009 09:59

I have to draw the line at pineapple and curry - cant stand either!

Clary sage bath obviously didnt help produce the baby nor did the full moon, however, and i'm sure it is just coincidence but by cx's are back to 3/4 an hour which is something given that they had totally disappeared yesterday.

Off to do a bit more ironing (woo hoo) and then into the office to collect some bits before getting the dc's from nursery.

LadyStealthPolarBear · 04/09/2009 10:00

oooh hope they keep up AM
Well I do like curry but don't tend to go for the hot ones Could I suppose but wouldn't really enjoy it, and it would make my indigestion 100x worse!

Neddie · 04/09/2009 10:27

Hi all
Have read some of the posts but as my C-section is quite painful still- I can't sit for long. Both babies doing OK but not putting much weight on at the moment despite constant feeding. I feel like an old sow. Do not recommend a CS but needs must when you have babies breech and normal presentation. Will catch up with everyone as soon as things settle a bit more. Congrats on those who have produced LOs this week. I can't remember who has had what but will check the stats thread.

JRocks · 04/09/2009 10:28

Mrs Chemist - I found a salty bath helped, but I've heard putting a couple of drops of tea tree and lavender oil in a bath are good too (not tried this)(yet).

LadyStealthPolarBear · 04/09/2009 10:28

Hi Neddie Glad babies are doing OK

JRocks · 04/09/2009 10:30

Hi Neddie - hope things settle for you soon.

FairySparkles · 04/09/2009 10:43

Hi all - I've been away for a week!!! So I've missed LOADS I'm sure - can anyone fill me in quickly?? Who's had babies???
Hope everyone's doing well - Neddie, spotted your post; glad your doing ok, nice to hear from you

Deeeja · 04/09/2009 10:45

Hi everyone, I don't really know any of you that well, but still like reading about everyone.
Neddie, don't rush things, very soon you will begin to feel like your normal self again as long as you get plenty of rest. I know women who had c-s and then convinced themselves they were fine, only to delay their recovery. It is amazing the things you use your stomach muscles for!
I second the tea-tree oil and lavender oil in the bath for stitches. It really helps with the healing.
I had period pains for a few hours last night, and more show. I know it means not much though. I looked up my notes from my last pregnancy, and had the same thing for around 4 weeks last time. He didn't come early. Ah well, maybe this one might, just might, make it before the due date. Hopefully not today though, have far too much to do. Kids back to school on Monday, and not sure that I have school trousers for my 4 year old ds, also have to take him to physiotherapy appointment today to fit new piedro boots.
I am having a few more period pains this morning, hope they ease of for the day.
Have a good day everyone!

SprinkleofStardust · 04/09/2009 10:49

Hi Neddie, sorry that your so sore, hope you feel better soon and the babies start putting on weight, lovely to hear from you

MrsC, arnica 30 is supposed to be good to help healing, I've got some from holland and barrett to start taking on due date or when I've had the baby, whichever is sooner. Also arnica cream for direct application. But ask in h&b or at a pharmacy, they might be able to recommend something else as well. Good to hear your LO is content though and your doing well

Hardly any sleep last night, so very uncomfortable no matter what side I lie on my hip starts hurting, then I had a horrible bad dream, completely random but scared me so I couldn't go back to sleep going to drown my sorrows in cereal now

mummyhill · 04/09/2009 11:17

Morning everyone.

Edd - 15 days. I am thinking it really isn't my week. Got stung by a wasp on my eyelid on the way home from dropping dd at school! Pharmacy wouldn't sell me anti histamines so ended up sitting round at gp surgery for an hour to get a prescription for something to stop the itching and throbbing. Feel as if I have been punched in the face!

TigerFeet · 04/09/2009 11:57

Hi all

8 days to EDD. Had a lot of tightenings last night and felt generally uncomfortable for a few hours but nothing came of it. Nothing really painful, but the BH felt more productive than they have up until now, iyswim.

MrsChemist, would sitting on a rubber ring help at all do you think? I'd second/third lavender oil and tea tree oil in a bath, and Arnica 30c.

Nice to hear from you Neddie, you've had major surgery so don't expect too much of yourself.

DD went back to school yesterday. It's very quiet here and I can almost feel myself starting to get bored!
