suey2 · 24/09/2009 19:40

yep, moomoosmum i will not be letting a MW anywhere near me this time around! for you. where do they GET these people. I know there must be some good ones around but really .

pigleychez · 24/09/2009 20:04

Welcome to all the newbies Cant believe how many of us there are now!

Loving the new list... much easier to read

James- Fingers crossed everythings ok and its just a small bleed.

SK- ohh your secret may be out of the bag then! Clever DD1

MooMoo- What an awful thing to say! Could you not complain about her.. thats terrible!

I too had a nice bowl of pasta for lunch..
My own concoction of Nancho spices and cheese sauce on pasta. Good job DD eats everything

I think my neighbour may have twigged. I have noticed her checking me out abit and today she was suggesting that I should have a nap when DD sleeps if I need it. Getting harder to hide it so guessing my secret will soon be out.
Looked back at photos and I currently look like a did at 18 weeks with DD!

sweetkitty · 24/09/2009 20:20

moomoosmum - welcome and congrats, am also very never pushed hard enough, see how she would like a 4th degree tear, stupid woman, I'm like that too though always think of witty things to say after the comment.

Am I the only one who has not been near a GP or MWs yet then? I suppose I should put an appointment on for next week, probably a morning when I don't have any little ears with me that can understand what is being said, oh this is complicated. I want to make sure everything is OK with the scan first though.

pigleychez · 24/09/2009 20:29

SK- I have an appointment on Monday evening. Last time was just be a quick, heres your date, keep taking folic acid etc.
Ive not bet this Dr before (male and had woman before) so be interested to see if hes any different.

brightredballoon · 24/09/2009 20:45

SK - no I haven't had an appointment through yet, I completed a notice of pregnancy form but that's it.

brightredballoon · 24/09/2009 21:05

Moomoosmum your MW sounds awful, absolutely dreadful. She should have a written warning for saying something like that, how inappropriate and insensitive - just baffles me how people like that can do a job like that.

How are you now James?

mmmmmchocolate · 24/09/2009 21:11

It seems that everyone has already seen their midwife/doctor I think I need to get my arse into gear Ive been following the thread but my days have consisted of eat, sleep, eat, eat, sleep...... Ive had the last 4 days off so im not sure how ill cope at work tomorrow Its different as last time I could just curl up on my days off but now I have a 2 yr old to keep entertained!! Thankfully, altough i have nausea I havnt had the awful sickness I had with DD. Yet....... Hey to all the new mums I never expected the list to be sooooo long!!!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 24/09/2009 21:23

Can't believe the midwife said that about your 4th degree tear, moomoosmum! I'd be tempted to complain about that, tbh. If I were you I'd definitely go for the ecs, you don't want to risk that again.

I've had no more bleeding since the one lot of pink discharge (tmi, I know sorry) so hopefully it was nothing. I won't bother the doctor with it unless it comes back/gets worse, but I'm resting and I'm not picking my (very heavy and wriggly) toddler up if I can help it. He seems to have regressed a bit lately and wants to be carried up and down the stairs, not evry helpful.

I think my neighbour has twigged too since she came out of her back door just as we were getting the double buggy out of our car!

Den26 · 24/09/2009 21:41

Hi All, i think i am joining you lot!! Calculator says i'm due on 16th of may - think it may be nearer end of May!

Just to fill you in a bit...Been on a bit of a rollercoaster the past few months Had a missed miscarriage at the beginning of july which required a D&C.

Was recently on holiday in Greece when i had no AF, greek test showed positive!! Then i can home to a letter from my consultant stating i had a partial molar pregnancy and needed to come back in for scans - i should have been notified of this over a month ago. Was panicking yesterday going for scan in case the test picked up molar tissue and no pregnancy.

Thankfully scans went well, no sign of molar tissue and yolk sac with small neural pole spotted (and in the correct place!!). After a molar pregnancy you are supposed to wait 6-12 months before TTC so doc says i'm a bit more complicated but nothing to say that things should not go well - so fingers crossed!!!

Very nervous as i had two good scans with previous pregnancy and went for 12 week scan thinking all was well but found foetus had stopped growing at 8.5 weeks This always at the back of my mind but now trying to be positive

Congratulations to all on this thread!! Heres to a happy and exciting few months

pamelat · 24/09/2009 21:46

My doc/midwife are not interested in seeing me for "at least another 3 weeks".

I live Nottinghamshire, not sure why I have to wait longer? Seems to be their policy to see you between 10 & 12 weeks, which seems a long wait to me.

On a more positive note, have just been to see a friend who had her DD2 3 weeks ago and have spent an hour cuddling a little baby. Had forgotten how tiny they are and how much your arm ends up aching

On the telling people front, I have been rubbish and at the last count about 25 people now know.

pamelat · 24/09/2009 21:50

Welcome den. Sorry cross posted

It does sound quite complicated, hope all works out well for you.

How rubbish re the month old letter, fortunately it arrived early enough to avoid any crossed wires with this pregnancy but it could have caused you serious distress.

Anyway, I wont be too hard on NHS but this sort of thing makes me

Den26 · 24/09/2009 21:58

Thanks pamelat - all too complicated for my little brain anyway!!! Glad things have worked out well - as you say it could have been alot worse. I work in the NHS so it makes me even ier!!!!

Hobnobfanatic · 24/09/2009 22:16

Sweetkitty - there's no fooling my 5yo either. I'm trying not to tell her until after my 12-week scan, but she's already patted my tummy and asked, conspiratorially, if I knew I was sticking my big belly out, and did I have a baby in there? I might tell her in a fortnight, as lots of family will be coming and it will be hard to keep it from them. If I tell her first, then she can break the news to everyone.

Hoping to go shopping for maternity bras this weekend - my norks are soooooo big and heavy and sore!

Can't stop napping, but keep waking in a panic. And as for food - I'm fast running out of stuff I can stomach. Tonight I really craved a cold, cheap steak-and-kidney pie with tomato sauce. Good job there are no shops near here!

TomlinTowers · 24/09/2009 22:21

Hi All - welcome all the new people!

James - hope you are resting lots, is it about the time you would normally get your period of you weren't pg (obv) - I've heard sometimes you can get a bit of breakthrough bleeding that never goes on to be anything of a problem. Hope you don't get any more.

Viv - how exciting about the wedding - how long to go?

SK - I haven't had a MW appt yet. I rang the GP and they said that the dr doesn't want to see me at all, and MW not before 8 weeks so going on 5/10 for booking in appt. I can't understand why it's so different from one area to the next.

Moomoo - I would definitely complain, that is a disgraceful thing to say. At the very least I would ask to never been seen by her again.

Nausea has hit today - I have to keep eating to stave off sickness. Just retching so far but not really v professional when meeting clients...started much earlier this time, didn't get anything til week 11 last time!

TomlinTowers · 24/09/2009 22:23

Also forgot to say - fingers crossed for everyone waiting for scans, test results etc - hand to hold here if you need it...

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 24/09/2009 22:26

Welcome to new people - late letter sounds awful Den.

Moomoosmum - can't believe the MW said that about your tear! You should complain, it's terrible

Pamelat - seems like quite a long time to wait to see your MW. I'm supposed to see mine between 7-8 weeks, she came early today. I can't wait to cuddle a tiny newborn again, I've completely forgotten how tiny they are. I keep thinking DD is small and then I see newborns and remember that she's huge in comparison.

DD was 'helping' the MW organise her notes today (organise them all over the floor!), we had to resort to CBeebies to occupy her in the end.

Sassles · 24/09/2009 22:35

Brightred ballon - Are you in Sunny Scotland then my dear? I work in Glasgow, but don't get the long weekend. DH does the swine and he is milking it, so think I will need to find him some DIY to do while I'm at work. He he he.

Def got some wicked tendencies since becoming pregnant, but think the nesting thing has started. We moved to new house in November last year, but still have to finish kitchen, bathroom, spare bedroom and now a nursery. That will be fun though, but will leave that room till things are more certain.

Fingers crossed for everyone going through some worrying times.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 24/09/2009 23:50

Tomlin I'm not sure about my period because I have such long and vaguely irregular cycles usually (approx 37-44 days) that no, my next period wouldn't be due yet. But for a 28 day cycle woman it would be. Oh I don't know...

I've been googling too much and scaring myself sh!tless tbh.

Welcome to the thread Den26, wishing you a smooth and healthy pregnancy.

sweetkitty · 25/09/2009 07:47

Welcome to the thread Den, sorry about the mmc and the letter how horrible but sure this little bean was meant to be here IYSWIM?

I went to bed at 9.15pm last night and was asleep well before 10, that is not like me at all.

Glad it's not just me who hasn't seen anyone yet, our service is so rubbish.

suey2 · 25/09/2009 08:25

oo gals- we are about to run out of space! new thread here. sorry for the unimaginative title

Stokey38 · 25/09/2009 09:18

I still haven't seen my Dr yet. I went really early last time and then I didn't hear anything again until I was about 9 weeks and then midwife and then scan. I think I am only about 5 weeks... am rubbish at working these things out!

memorylapse · 25/09/2009 10:09

welcome to the thread Den, glad the scan brought good news

well Im 8 weeks today..and my nausea has escalated again..last night DH cooked me some dinner and I puked it all back up! Poor DH stood there saying "blimey my cookings not that bad is it??!"

Ive booked a private scan for Sunday because I want a better explanation of the blood clot and any implications.

Warm welcome to all the new names on the thread

AnAngelWithin · 25/09/2009 12:48

morning ladies. Results day today. Have spent the past 3 days thinking I am walking round carrying a dead baby. No more bleeding, no pain.

They did bloods on tuesday and thursday, saying that in a 'good' case they HOPED for a 60% increase in hormone levels. The said they expected them to go down though cos i had a 'mixed echo' scan and bleeding a couple of times, and to expect the worst. So they went from 3,254.....up to

6415!!! so obviously there is a baby in there!! The midwife I rang was the same one who scanned me and gave me the 'bad' news, and she was so happy to give me more positive news! And although she said she can't promise that everything will be ok, its more positive and I have got to go for another scan a week tuesday, where they will hopefully see a heartbeat!! I am soooooooooooo relieved its unreal!!!

I'll have a good read of the thread now to comment on other peoples posts, just wanted to share my new

sweetkitty · 25/09/2009 12:51

anangelwithin - great news, so so happy for you

memorylapse - I think your little bean is a fighter too to get this far, it's for staying

AnAngelWithin · 25/09/2009 12:57
