memorylapse - we went to Whinfell Forest first time this May, the older two had a ball, we could have just stayed in the lodge and they would have been happy, they think it is the best place in the world must go back next year

memorylapse · 28/08/2009 17:22

ah nice to hear another good comment about Whinfell Forest..my friend has also been there and raves about the place!..the kids are so excited..but none more than ds1 who is 15!

sweetkitty · 28/08/2009 17:48

at your 15yo DS I think it's one of these places there is something for everyone well maybe not clubs and pubs for 18-25s but you go there to relax. Have you booked yourself into the spa? It was lovely and I am sure they do a mums-to-be package

I keep having to remind myself that I am pregnant doesn't feel real then again it never does, I suppose when I start feeling sick in a few weeks (fingers crossed) it will seems more real.

Am 3+6 weeks pregnant today

Kaystar · 28/08/2009 18:44

Hello all, happy to say that I'd like to join you here on this new thread Got a BFP yesterday morning and have calculated that I'm 3+6 weeks (is this the right way around? - new to all this!) and due on 9 May.

congrats Kaystar

Sweetkitty..I was looking at the spa treatments in the activities brochure and I think I will definitely be booking myself in

ForcesSweetheart · 28/08/2009 21:04

OMG SK! You too? My EDD is 3rd may, but have joined April thread too as I'll be delivered 2 wks early.
SK, have you ever had the SPD come on this early? I think mine has and I'm only 4+4! I'm in agony, and it's exactly the same pain as the SPD I had with Lola.

ForcesSweetheart · 28/08/2009 21:07

Oops forgot to put myself on list, have put in date order too coz I'm a wee bit OCD like that.

welcome kaystar another graduate of the bus when was your LMP I thought you would be the same say as me I am 3+6 too

memorylapse - I got the 3 hour spa thing but beware a lot of the rooms were too hot for me and that was non pregnant, you could use the pools and the waterbeds but it's a lot of money for s swim. I also had a massage and a facial, felt like I was floating when I came out

DorotheaPlenticlew · 28/08/2009 22:10

Hey there, I'd like to join. Just got BFP today -- we were vaguely TTC but not really expecting it to happen this month as only had minimal sex life , so we're very happy but a bit startled.

I have one DS who just turned 2.

Oh, and yesterday I was told I'm being made redundant ... though it's not official yet, my boss told me in confidence that the entire company I work for is being dissolved, a cost-cutting decision by its much larger parent company. Late on in this conversation, I jokingly said "Well, I'm glad I'm not pregnant, anyway". Today, thought I'd better double-check that just in case, and ... turns out I spoke too soon. So no maternity pay for me -- but probably some redundancy pay.

Don't really care though, having a new DC will be fab

I'm going to change the list around to chronological order, I am very anal and you will find I will like the list to be all nice

Filling up nicely ladies, wonder how many we will end up with my last antenatal thread had about 40

forces - aww you can stay on this thread, doesn't matter if you are strictly not going to deliver in May, as for the SPD 12 weeks last time it started a lot worse too, told me I needed crutches, I was like what do I tie my 3 and 2yo to them? Had a belt that was no use and physio on the NHS well I had about 3 treatments then she said "everytime I put your right hip back to where it should be it moves back your joints are too soft, nothing we can do until you deliver"

DorotheaPlenticlew · 28/08/2009 22:31

Glad you sorted out the list as I had left people off -- sorry!

I had SPD only at the very end last time (agree with SK that the belts are hopeless), but dreadful RSI-type numbness/stiffness/pain in my hands for a lot of 3rd trimester. That was rotten, really limited me (had to wear hand/arm braces at night, ugh) & I have no idea if it's likely to happen again. Anyone else get that sort of thing?

sweetkitty · 28/08/2009 22:34

dorothea - is that carpal tunnel syndrome? know a few people that had that sounds horrific the things we go through eh?

DorotheaPlenticlew · 28/08/2009 22:36

Yes that's it carpal tunnel I couldn't think of the name . I think this means it's bedtime ... 'night all, sleep well.

ForcesSweetheart · 28/08/2009 22:42

Yeh I had the carpal tunnel too, had to wear the wrist brace things, horrid. Am really stressing about the SPD, I really thought I had a good few months before I had to worry about it. I only just started back to work 2 months ago, they'll be so annoyed if I have to go sick coz I can't walk.

sweetkitty · 28/08/2009 22:45

FS - oh no poor you carpal tunnel and SPD nightmare and your extra monitoring with the diabetes too

Oh how is little L? can you believe we will have 2 the same age (even though I have had another one inbetween!)

ForcesSweetheart · 28/08/2009 23:05

She's so excited. She left my mum speechless the other night, my mum was on the phone to her and said "are you going to help mummy look after your baby? are you going to give it its bottle?" little'un frowned and said very indignantly "No, coz THIS baby will get its milk from my mummy's booby!" My mum was just about the most unsupportive person in the world when it came to bf'ing L so she didn't really know what to say to that!

For those of you who haven't sussed it, SK and I were on the due in Jan 06 thread together MANY moons ago. It's so nice to see a familiar face in here. Can't believe you're on number 4 girl, DH has been told he's getting snipped in next room while I'm having my section! You're a braver woman than I. Is T excited? I think this is such a great age for it to happen as they're so excitable and say the sweetest things about it all.

Jan9ne · 28/08/2009 23:16

I'm too scared to take a test. have been ttc for 4 cycles ( or 5? I lose count...) period due today. feeling a bit crampy, snotty discharge had me v sad as i alway get it just b4 period.... anyway i was saying to hubby i really felt this month was our lucky month. Have written 'period' on the calender as i am trying to brace myself for the inevitable. Nearly chucked this morning when i smelt that fox poo smell in the garden - but hey, who wouldn't, pregnant or not, it's gross! I am 37 and have a dd nearly 19 months. I want to be pregnant much more strongly than i did the first time around, weird...

sweetkitty · 28/08/2009 23:19

FS - good for her, I haven't told the girls yet, won't tell them until after 12 weeks, I find they have no concept of time and 9 months is long for us it's an age for them. T adores her little sister though a bit too much at times, DD1 is like a mini mummy and adores babies. They both want another sister (only a sister DD1 said she doesn't want boye ever) which is handy as it's going to be a girl anyway

memorylapse · 29/08/2009 07:55

welcome Dorothea..sorry to hear about the redundancy.
sweetkitty..I will definitely go for a facial or something..but will avoid the saunas

woke up this morning and walked into the bathroom..and could smell..the toilet cleaner.in the loo, despite the fact that it was put down yesterday and has been repeatedly flushed!
I got some of the cheap midstream tests from ebay (not the dippy ones which didnt work for me)..and did another this morning just to check..(despite having done 2 CBD tests)

DorotheaPlenticlew · 29/08/2009 12:39

at FS's DD

lizzie9442 · 29/08/2009 14:59

hi everyone. wow this thread has filled in the week I have been away its good to see lots more people joining. So far I have no symptons apart from really tired all the time. I am 5+1 and I haven't actually told anyone that i am pregnant yet apart from on here, not even my husband. I know its bad but i can't bring myself to do it as the last 3 pregnancies ended in mc so i want to wait and surprise him when I get to 12 weeks. Crazy I know but at least he won't have to worry. i am being really positive this time round though and think this baby will hang on, its just going to be hard trying to act normal around everyone when the sickness kicks in.

How is everyone else ?

xxxx

ForcesSweetheart · 29/08/2009 15:42

Lizzie I could never keep it to myself, I'm dreadful at keeping any kind of secret! Crossing everything for you that this little one hangs in there.

My pelvis isn't feeling as bad today as it was last night, thankfully - I probably just overdid it yesterday walking round the shops. We've had a gentle day today strolling around Cholderton Charlies Farm and am just about to go for a sneaky nap I think.

SK, I did think about not telling L til 12 wks but she's been so interested in the whole TTC process I was just desperate to give her the good news as soon as I found out. For months and months now she's been asking "did the seed grow yet? Is our baby growing?" For a 3 and a half year old she has a scarily in-depth knowledge of it all - she once walked in on me in the loo and caught me putting on a sanitary towel, she let out a loud sigh and said "aaaww why did your period come? I want our baby to grow!"
