I'm so sorry to those who are leaving - I can't imagine how sad you must be feeling.

Welcome to the newbies, too; can't believe how many people are here!

My search for non-queasy food continues. The greasy sausage roll phase lasted 12 hours. NOw the thought of them makes me heave. Muffins, white corned-beef sarnies (I'm usually a wholemeal/seeded bread kinda girl), and sesame ryvitas with some Philadelphia today. THe sarnies went down soooooo well... Not a five-a-day diet at all. I've never eaten so unhealthily! The only fruit I can stomach are red grapes.

All the old wives' tales say girls give you MS - or twins!

MY LO today said, "Mummy, do you know you're showing off your big tummy?" She rubbed it gently and said, "Do you have a baby in there?". I just laughed - but couldn't believe how perceptive she is - I've been hiding my 6.5-week bump (!!) under jackets etc - and she's not even 6yo yet. I have NO chance of keeping this pg under wraps until 12 weeks...

HarryJoesMummy · 20/09/2009 21:52

Hi to all the newbies, welcome!

Told MIL, BIL and DH's 94 year old Nan today - all really pleased. That's it with breaking the news for now until we have the scan safely done with. I am terrible at telling people - I can't just drop it into conversation, I just have to blurt it out!

With prams etc, my DS will be 2.9 by the time this one is here, and he doesn't really use the pushchair now so we are going to try and manage with a buggy board and the old pram. We'll see how we get on - I may end up buying an emergency Phil & Teds in due course...

I remember that we bought one teddy bear for DS1 after the 12 week scan, and then we waited until after the 20 week scan before we bought anything big. This time round I don't think there will be much to buy though - we kept so much stuff from last time, and all the 0 - 3 month clothes were neutrals. I am looking forward to opening up all the boxes and getting all the newborn baby stuff out though - I think I will be shocked at how small it is, DS1 is so big now!

slipperthief · 20/09/2009 21:56

I'm having my weekly inch of beer and it's lovely.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 21/09/2009 08:02

Wow, I'm very jealous of all of you with big bumps, I can't see anything yet.

Welcome to all the newbies

Sweetpeasmum · 21/09/2009 08:54

Hi all, can I join the fray please? I got a BFP on Friday and it's taken me this long to read the rest of the thread! Poor DH has felt quite neglected although is amused by this virtual world.

My stats are 38, EDD , #2.

I don't have many symptoms yet, just the funny stretching feeling and the odd bit of fatigue. I'm not too grumpy yet but have felt a bit spaced out from time to time.

Sweetpeasmum · 21/09/2009 09:04

Sorry, thought I was more together today! EDD is 22 May 09 according to MN.

fulhamgirl · 21/09/2009 09:08

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 21/09/2009 09:45

Welcome Sweetpeasmum and Fulhamgirl

sweetkitty · 21/09/2009 10:01

Welcome sweetpeasmum and fulhamgirl

Just dropped big two off at nursery and school and off round local Asda, in the trolley were fresh pineapple and Cart D'or Mascarpone ice-cream, oh and a bit of cheesecake I will eat before picking DD2 up pregnant - me never!

Was driving along retching this morning

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 21/09/2009 10:06

Poor you SK Sounds like you have some yummy treats though! I keep wanting Quavers so have to steal DD's. Taking her off to soft play now so that she can run off some energy!

sweetkitty · 21/09/2009 10:19

Heffa - oh yes if you are going to feel sick you are better having some nice food to feel sick with lol

pigleychez · 21/09/2009 10:22

Welcome Sweetpeasmum and Fulhamgirl

I had a glass of Orange juice this morning and feel really rough now..Doesnt usually effect me like that

DD has her swimming lesson later,so hoping I feel better then. Dont think they would be impressed with me barfing in the pool!
I bought a maternity swimming costume last week. Im gonna need one with DD's lessons and it was a bargin in Blooming Marvelous £30 reduced to £5 so I Grabbed it!

Also saw a nice dress in there I liked. DH is best man at our friends wedding the end of April, so will need a tent/dress to wear. I'll keep an eye on that too see if they reduce it after xmas! If not i'll get it anyway.

Hope everyone is well

pamelat · 21/09/2009 10:46

Maternity swim suit sounds good. I am quite a small ish person but got huge with DD, but my normal swimsuit kept stretching to fit so I wore it every week . Only after DD was born did I realise how stretched and maybe a teeny bit transparent it had become!

pamelat · 21/09/2009 10:47

I also have bump envy . I feel heavier and some of my clothes are tight already but there is no bump.

Swangirl · 21/09/2009 11:51

Hi can I join in as well I got bfp last Tues
This will be Dc 3 for me DD is nearly 6 Ds is 17months and I am 36
Congratulations to everyone

MinnieMummy · 21/09/2009 12:23

Afternoon all, so sorry to hear more people have left in the last few days, but welcome to all the new people! Yey!

Glad you had a good holiday Pigley, my bump is about the same size as yours and I am paranoid about it, fortunately as I always have a wobbly tummy I'm hoping people will think I've just been eating lots of cakes (also true!!). I dug out my old maternity clothes and also my 'post-baby' clothes, am currently in the latter. I really need to keep it hidden for a bit longer as we are going through redundancy/redeployment at work and I don't want my status to affect what happens to me (illegal I know but it would be hard to prove).

I think we are going to try and keep it a surprise this time, found out both times last time so let's try a different experience... although when it comes to the scan I will probably be looking!!

Been feeling absolutely exhausted the last few days, work stress is not helping but I don't remember feeling this knackered last time. I guess because now I have two not just one... I'm feeling ok right now, just tired, but it seems like I spend large parts of the day feeling either sick or tired or both. It suddenly lifted about 8pm last night and then I realised how bad I'd been feeling!!

We have a P&T, not sure what will happen when DS decides he doesn't want to walk - tough I guess!

mumabee · 21/09/2009 12:48

Hi everyone, may I de-lurk and join this thread?

Got a BFP on the 13th and am gradually getting used to being pregnant. Everything seems to be moving very quickly, I went to the GP last Monday and already have my booking-in and scan dates, which is exciting but scary. Is anyone else feeling a bit overwhelmed? My stats are 33, EDD 16 May, #1.

So sorry to those that have left the thread or had a family loss

suey2 · 21/09/2009 13:30

hello newbies!

suddnely feeling a bit better, though probably because i have started to pace myself.

minniemummy have you thought about telling work so it's official? it may work in your favour; it may be more difficult to make you redundant.

pamelat · 21/09/2009 13:46

Hello swangirl and mumabe

Congrats to you both.

My due date varies depending on which website I use. It varies from 11 to 13th May.
12th May is our 3rd year wedding anniversary so easier to remember.

Can I just ask everyone, are you meant to re-do the pregnancy test then?

I took two within 24 hours and both showed a faint line, but definately there. That was nearly 3 weeks ago now, should I re-do it and expect a stronger line?

I am finding it quite frustrating that you no longer get seen until 10-12 weeks where I live, feels like a long wait.

Is everyone taking folic iron supplements? I am but we are waiting to see if we have heamacromotis (spelt incorrectly). My mum found out she is a carrier so my brother and I are waiting for tests. It basically means that you store too much iron.

Last time I took folic iron and was fine (and unaware of this possibility) so am continuing with the supplement until I hear otherwise.

Sorry, appreciate thats a bit of a ramble.

I have a day off work today and DD in nursery (a rarity to have both) and actually feel at a loss as to what to do!

suey2 · 21/09/2009 13:54

i haven't retested pamelat: but then i did do 8 tests! (was abroad, didn't know how reliable they were).

I am also wondering if i should retest, but i kind of figure that i would have had my period if i wasn't pg. I'm paying for an early scan fri week, so i guess there will be no doubt either way. But I think i'll get one today just in case.
