Thought I would start a new thread for may. Just got bfp and I am really excited. I think I'm due 30th April/1st May but there are so many people on April already. Heres hoping for a healthy pregnancy. I will just wait for lots more of you to join me. xxxx

Sorry for those that have lost their little ones. I had a m/c in July, the baby would have been due 10 March. Happily I am pregnant again. I have a 2y+3m DS already and know he is going to be an excellent big brother.

I have added myself to the list, due 20 May.

Pamelat - I'm so sorry, that's very sad

We've told a few people but I really worry about telling too many - we told loads of people last time but I'm more paranoid about it this time.

I totally get that, pamelat. I am going to see my dying dad next week to say my goodbyes: mum and I have agreed not to tell him I'm pg: just too cruel. I'm really sad for my kids that they'll never get to know him.

dorothea - sorry if I misled you - I wasn't suggesting that running around after a toddler was any problem for the pregnancy. I hope not anyway! I just find it funny when I was so ultra (OTT) careful with DS1, and with this one, I keep forgetting and doing so much more and everything so far seems fine. Just shows me that I really could have managed to carry those shopping bags when pg with DS1 after all....

Told parents, sis and BIL today - they are all thrilled . MIL and her DP to tell tomorrow, and then DH's brother - and then that's it until had the first scan [determined-to-keep-my-mouth-shut emoticon].

Mummytoeli, so glad all was ok for u hunni. I had my baseline bloods back today. HCG 344 and progesterone 5.6 (10 is the minimum progesterone level needed to sustain a pg). My spotting has stopped, this is too cruel. I am ok though, more bloods tomorrow.

I hope all mums and bumps are ok.xxx

suey/pamelet - I lost my lovely MIL 2 months ago and am totally gutted still cannot believe it. To make matters that wee bit worse my mother has been downright nasty to me and I have cut all ties with her too

welcome newbies cannot keep up with everyone, I think we will all breathe a sigh of relief when the magic 12 weeks comes round.

Suey2 I hope you find the strength you need to get through the next few months. I lost my mum a few years back and it was hard enough without being pregnant too.

Quite a bit of sadness on this thread at the moment, let's hope that's the last of it and we can all look forward to smooth happy healthy pregnancies.

I'm crying at the drop of a hat too here. I've had a rotten cold the past couple of days, and I sneezed earlier, bit my tongue and burst into melodramatic tears! which thankfully isn't usually like me.

I have been weeing like a racehorse today, about every hour! and I have a third coldsore (surefire pregnancy sign for me, when I was pg with ds1 I had six in a row) So much for looking radiant in pregnancy! Anyone else looking like a spotty pale exhausted mess at the moment or is that just me???? I look like Uncle Fester in a wig!

Had a urinalysis done and i have 15mg/dL of ketones in my urine and i am panicking!! Is that good, bad or indifferent??

So sad that people arent being supportive. My family have been happy, PIL alittle shocked as I dont think they expected it just yet.
Lovely BIL and girlfriend sent us a card yesterday saying Congratulations for making us an Aunt and Uncle again. Bless them.. They did the same when we told them about DD.

Re family: my sister and BIL were incredibly chuffed and very sweet. They dote on DD so it's lovely - I'm very close to their children as well (and DD adores her cousins). PIL were pleased but MIL is already convinced it's a boy - apparently she had a dream telling her so. Except she had that last time, apparently with numerous other signs that I was absolutely, definitely, having a boy (was a girl) so I'm not going to count on her vision! Negative reactions are so sad - why not just be happy?

I do feel very sad about my lack of family now especially when I see other DC with their grandparents, I cannot cope with the negative reactions whilst I am feeling so rough and praying this LO makes it.

Will tell my SIL next week when I see her, she is lovely but she is an hour away and having her own traumas with her teenage DD.
My brother will probably say "not again" and moan about ahving to buy more Xmas presents and that we will need a bigger house or something.

My mother told me last time that it would be for the best if I had a mc as 3 DC would be expensive and no one has big families these days and I was stupid so am not telling her this time.

My Dad will say oh congratulations and then start to talk about his rose bushes or something. he is one of these people who doesn't really care what you are talking about just wants to talk about himself asap

MIL and PIL are both dead and we have other old aunts who don't really bother with us. So that's my family really, maybe one of the reasons DP and I wanted 4 children, we love a big noisy house children coming and going etc.

Hello! It seems that I'm about 7 weeks pregnant, due date, acc to my calculations, May 13th. This is my first so it's all new and exciting and a little bit frightening, not least because I'm 39. So far so good anyway. No sickness yet but I do v have sore boobs, a few cramps and I'm visiting the loo often. I am wondering how i'm going to tell my mum who lives hundreds of miles away that she's going to be a grandmother after all this time.

Also struggling with some of the acronyms used on this site - dd/dh/ds etc.?? Is there a glossary somewhere?

I struggled with them too. In the end it just makes typing much quicker though.

Welcome to the thread hollyoaks and schipo! Schipo, here's a link to the acronyms and abbreviations used on mumsnet, but dh/ds/dd etc is just dear husband, dear son, dear daughter. Congratulations on your pregnancy, don't be afraid to tell your mum, I bet she'll be over the moon for you! My mum had me at 38, think I was a bit of an accident but it all worked out fine.

I feel so stressed out- not even sure why! Am not coping very well with the 12 hour shifts two little children and pregnancy.
We told just the family last night. FIL says oh you will have to gve up work! Why will I? I only do two 12 hour shifts a week. DH looks after them and I love my job Am I being selfish?

Got my first scan date- 2nd November seems like eternity away!

And also can i justify buying myself a new pram for what is probably my last child?
