Hi All

Really sorry to hear your news meansbeansmum - hope it all gets sorted out for you soon.

Pigley - your bump is impressive. I also keep forgetting that I am pg - went to soft play with DS1 today and was crawling around and clambering over all the foam shapes, bars, etc. I think perhaps I was just too precious when pg with DS1 - I didn't even carry a bag of shopping in case it caused problems. No chance of that this time - I had to lug DS1 upstairs to bed tonight as he decided he couldn't walk up them himself!

Whoever it was that said they had stretchy feelings low down - I have those two but no bleeding/spotting so I think it is just a sign of everything starting to grow and shift around.

I have no sickness yet but def having reactions to certain types of food - had onion in a panini today at soft play and felt v odd afterwards, and then had coleslaw tonight and again felt most strange, so no onion for me for the next 8 months!

Have just watched Strictly Come Dancing and am already hooked - anyone else?

butterscotch · 18/09/2009 23:04

Sorry to hear Meanbeans mum x

Sorry to hear about your friend Lizzie.

I feel so sick all the time wasn't like this with DD, I'm knackered all the time due to waking in the middle of the night and getting imsonia (SP)

I only remember being sick in the mornings before this time i am sick all day randomly, the dog like nose thing isn't helping we were at a cuban bar/restaurant tonight and i had to chunder in the loo's and leave it was my friends birthday so I was disappointed luckily she knows so its not so bad!

I was really into Ice-cream in a big way last time eating 2 - 3 tubs of Ben and Jerrys/HD/Green and blacks a week and really off curry....

Is anyone else constantly eating? I seem to be hungry after a really short while my daily food intake is probably double its normal amount

I've had to switch to Mat clothes and need to shop tomorrow for some tops that cover my bump otherwise work is going to guess

AnAngelWithin · 19/09/2009 09:41

Morning everyone!

Hope you are all well (and not feeling too sick?!)

I feel really queasy and tired this morning. DS1 keeps asking me if I am ok. I think he knows somethings going on, but not worked out what yet!

Going to have a nice quiet day at home with the kids today I think. Need to tidy the house a bit but need to find my motivation first! Think I left it under my pillow!!

Butterscotch, I'm not as hungry as usual funnily enough. Everyone has commented on how good I look and that i look like i have lost lots of weight!!! Saying that, much as I love having one, I am glad I haven't got any bump showing yet!!! Would make it harder if the worst should happen

Sweetkitty I know what you mean about not looking forward to the reactions from everyone! Especially my nan who I am really close to funnily enough! I know she won't be happy.

chalkeyb · 19/09/2009 10:27

I am off so many foods at the moment but seem to be putting on no end of weight. I do think I already seem to have a bit of a bump - or could it just be fat?!

A friend I was out with last night who knows I am pg commented that I looked big enough to be having triplets - didn't know whether to be hugely upset as obviously fat or pleased because I'm looking pg!!

Sorry to hear your news meanbean and Lizzie.

Now looking forward to a relaxing day

MummytoEli · 19/09/2009 11:19

Hi mums just wanted to ask a question i started spotting on wednesday (very light pink) and my doctor said it was implantation bleeding and it has continued from then on and off but is very very light and brown. im just curious how long implantation bleeding lasts??

meanbeansmum Ive got my fingers crossed for u i just went through the exact same thing but just when i had given up all hope i went back 2 days later my levels had risen and there was a sack in my uterus, just ment i had ovulated much later then i thought even though my periods are always so regular im hoping for some positive news for you to xxx

DorotheaPlenticlew · 19/09/2009 12:41

Meanbeansmum, don't know if you are still reading this, but really sorry for what you're going through. Hope you are OK.

I am a bit surprised at the notion that clambering around at soft play or an adventure playground is unwise for a pregnant woman. Unless you have some underlying condition, surely it shouldn't be an issue. Soft play scrambling alone won't cause a miscarriage -- our bodies are generally better designed than that

If I am wrong about this then we are doomed, as I spend my life vigorously pursuing a tall and heavy two-year-old, clambering around after him at soft plays, the park etc, and hoicking him up the several flights of very dusty stairs to our flat while laden with three bags of shopping, etc etc etc. He does know how to walk up the stairs of course, he's just prone to "climbing" them with his hands or touching the stairwell wall, which is not very clean thanks to our teenage neighbours and their manky habits. Also, he takes a loooong time.

I do wonder about how I will manage things when heavily pg, but by then he will hopefully be a bit better trained.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 19/09/2009 13:18

Dorothea - I'm hoping that being too active won't be an issue, DD keeps me very busy so I'd be doomed. Having said that, I am doing so much more than I did in my last pg and it is difficult not to worry. I keep having to remind myself to be cautious as well - got a bit over enthusiastic with v.heavy shopping bags earlier.

Spirael · 19/09/2009 13:46

Morning all... I'm still hanging around here while I'm waiting in limbo, hope that's ok! I'll go scurrying back over to conception once I know for sure.

meanbeansmum, I hope things work out all right for you! Doctors can often be wrong, you know.

Not much to report here... I've pretty much had my regular period, which is a bit off putting given the BFPs I keep producing on HPTs. No cramps or anything, so I'm still vaguely crossing my fingers that my body just didn't quite produce enough of the chemicals to stop my period for this month, and that MiniSpi is just hiding safely away in a corner wondering why everything just got a lot less squishy.

Seriously though, I can't shake the feeling that I'm definitely not pregnant anymore. Whatever minor tenderness I was having in my breasts is definitely gone, and I feel...pretty much the same as usual. Though I felt pretty much usual beforehand too, so I haven't got a lot to compare against. I just spent three hours attacking my garden, so I'm obviously not that frail or ill! However the amount of satisfaction I got in chopping down a tree that had sprung up between the concrete and the fence was slightly disturbing.

So...yeah, I'm not really following the whole 'take it easy while (possibly) pregnant' thing either! But in all honesty, I find it easier to keep myself busy at the moment...

Anyway, I've sat still too long. Must go wash something!!!

Spirael · 19/09/2009 13:47

Hang on... Morning? It's 2pm in the afternoon!

Don't mind me, I'm working on a different timezone to the rest of the UK, apparently.

Sassles · 19/09/2009 15:31

I know what you mean Spirael. Slept & slept today. Hubby let me sleep and didn't wake till 2pm!! Must have needed it.

I am in awe of all of with young children & preganancy. Don't know how you do it. I'm soo tired!

DorotheaPlenticlew · 19/09/2009 15:47

It is a bit rough I have only one DS and feel hard done by dealing with early pregnancy huge respect for all those with two or more (!) in the same boat.

DS got up at 5:45 this morning, and it was undoubtedly "my turn", as lovely DP has been letting me sleep all the time. Even so, DP ended up getting roused from his bed at 8:00, hardly a massive lie in!

I slept a bit while DS was napping and now DP has taken him out to play. Weekends are definitely easier because we can take turns like this.

suey2 · 19/09/2009 15:57

Get this.
Me 'can we have lunch first since I'm really hungry but need to go to bed'.
Dh 'well, I'd like to go to bed, too'. (hungover)
Men just don't get the first trimester tiredness, eh?

pinkelephants · 19/09/2009 16:01

Hi can I Join you? I got my bfp on monday and am due on 21st May although have had irregular cycles for a while so the date may change. I'm 28 and live in west sussex with my dh and this will be our first baby - we are somewhere between excited and scared at the moment! You would think that after 9 months of TTC I would have had time to get used to the idea but apparently not!

I have feeling sick alot of the time although not being sick thankfully. I also have period type pains and backache on and off - does anyone know if this is normal?

Really sorry to hear that some people are having such a difficult and worrying time - I am hoping for a good outcome for you all.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

suey2 · 19/09/2009 16:05

Yes, I was tryng to remember the first time, when I ciuldjust slope off to bed. Fortunately dd still naps 2 hours after lunch, so I can always have a catchup. And we are going to a wedding reception this evening with dd (nanny's wedding) which is an hour's drive away.
I am glad I have some help in place for afterwards, though.
Lots of lower adbo pain last 2 days: keep expecting af! But ok with bleeding: for me, it is often constipation rather than period pain, I think since I feel often better after ahem relieving the pressure!

suey2 · 19/09/2009 16:07

Oo x post: welcome pinkelephants!

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 19/09/2009 17:00

Pinkelephants - welcome to the thread!

Suey2 - men really don't get the first trimester tiredness. DH is absolutely fab but still thinks that I'm just a bit sleepy rather than absolutely knackered.

Is anyone else a snivelling wreck? We just watched Babe and I bawled all the way through . I'm a bit of a wuss with films anyway but not normally that bad! Definitely hormones I think.

DorotheaPlenticlew · 19/09/2009 18:48

TwentiethCentury, I am so incredibly quick to cry now too. At least Babe is meant to be emotional in places. I actually teared up a little bit watching the CBeebies "Summer" song a couple of weeks ago. God knows why, but something about the lazy auto-tuned harmonies plucked at my pregnant heartstrings

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 19/09/2009 18:56

Hehe, I've been getting teary at CBeebies as well - I was welling up at Chuggington the other day! DH thinks it's hilarious

Is the summer song the one where they're all dancing around in the orchard? Because that's a bit emotional as well.

DorotheaPlenticlew · 19/09/2009 19:13

Oh no, that's the autumn one I think. I've not seen it yet but DP mentioned it had switched over. I'm sure I will weep buckets.

Summer was the one with everyone dancing with umbrellas ... not sure exactly what about it caused the emotions to surge

DorotheaPlenticlew · 19/09/2009 19:14

at crying at Chuggington

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 19/09/2009 19:28

Ah, the autumn one is really sweet, it made me want to snuggle up on sofa with hot chocolate (and cry!). I'm glad it's not just me anyway - I was like this first time round but not quite as much! I'm going to have to be really careful what films I watch with DD for a while.

pamelat · 19/09/2009 20:03

Crikey, a week away and its been very busy on here, have actually read all of the posts which has taken some time!! DH is moaning at me a little and says I am obsessed by "people that I don't even know"

I am very sad for those that have had to leave. It really must be awful and I dont even know what to say , sorry.

I havent really had many symptoms, thought I would develop morning sickness during our weeks holiday but haven't. With DD (now 20 months, i was definately poorly by now).

I am very tired and poor DH got up 6 out of the 7 mornings at 6am with DD. I only did the 1 and feel a bit guilty but am going to bed at 9pm ish and even then I cant do 6am, well will have to next week.

It may be wrong but I have told a lot of people now. I got over excited one evening and texted a lot of my "mummy friends" from having had DD. I would say about 20 people in total now know, not what we had planned.

I have put weight on but I think its because I have just eaten and eaten and eaten. I have wanted chips, crisps, white bread, cereal etc etc and been a gluten but I figure I should enjoy it guilt free.

DH is being a star and looking after me but I know I need to pull my weight now I am back from our hols (lovely but cold)

Congrats to all with good news x

pamelat · 19/09/2009 20:08

Oh, re crying. I am struggling there. Lost my grandma 3 months ago. I am/was very close to her. Dont even like to talk about it yet. Visited her in the chapel of rest (mistake) Anyway its all horrible. For a month I cried, except at work. Then I felt ok, now pregnant, even seeing elderly people makes me cry .... very quietly but I cry. Seeing people elderly and alone makes me cry.

We went for a cup of tea on our Northumberland holiday and there was an elderly couple, the lady looked a tiny bit like my grandma, and I just sat crying eating my cream scone.

Its just something big that I cant share with her
