Hobnobfanatic · 18/09/2009 12:38

Oh TwentiethCenturyHeffa - what have you done? The greasy sausage roll image has been playing on my mind all morning and I finally had to succumb and drive to the nearest baker's (sadly, I live in the middle of nowhere and we don't have a Greggs within a half-hour radius : ( )

Now I've scoffed TWO gorgeous sausage rolls and am still craving more! They were just what the doctor ordered - though the doctor would probably order something way healthier.

But they were the first thing that I really wanted for ages - and they didn't make me sick. Wish I could crave salads, Jamesandthegiantbanana...

Duritzfan · 18/09/2009 13:11

Hi

Can I join in the fun ? I am terrified but excited - due 14th of May so am just about 6 weeks pg..

This will be our third child - have had lots of first trimester mc's and have known about the pregnancy for two weeks now.. Am very very nervous but trying to be positive !
I'm 37 and my youngest child is 10 so this really is a bit of a shock - Im sure I didnt feel this tired last time lol !!

Ive been taking progesterone for the last two weeks to help me keep prgnant ..have had my first midwife appointment yesterday and first scan due in two weeks ...

Just praying this little one makes it or I am going to be devastated ..

Look forward to getting to know you all hopefully on the next few months rollercoaster ride !!

Helen x

AnAngelWithin · 18/09/2009 13:17

welcome diritzfan. Hope all goes well at your scan. You have a big age gap. Do you think that will make things easier? In terms of the other kids can look after themselves a bit? I have got 4 kids with 2 years between each, youngest is 3.

Duritzfan · 18/09/2009 13:36

I do have a big gap ... wasnt planned that way we have been trying for a long while ..

I am hoping that my ds who is 13 will be fabulous - he is an extremely soppy boy who loves children ..he will literally sit and gaze at babies for hours !! When he was younger he was desperate for more brothers or sisters and would stand on our deck and yell to God to send us a baby !!

My dd is 10 - I think (hope) she will be thrilled although she is much less motherly than my ds...

Im not looking forward to everyone elses reaction ..
Only a very few people know that we wanted a third and have been having problems for a long time ..so its going to be interesting telling them !

The in laws will no doubt be rude and disparaging - they usually are !
My mother will think I am bonkers...

Still cant decide what to say - whether to tell the truth (that we have been trying for a long time ) or just to say that this one wasnt planned to avoid all the opinions being profffered ..
Any advice ?

suey2 · 18/09/2009 13:37

Sausage rolls sound fabulous! But was next to the fish and chip shop. Yummy! Now feel guilty and bloated, but not sick.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 18/09/2009 13:39

Hobnobfanatic So sorry! Glad you enjoyed them though Apparently greasy food is good for nausea so it does make sense!

Jamesandthegiantbanana Lucky you craving healthy food! I'm not really craving anything at the moment, although I would enjoy a McDonalds and coke.

Duritzfan - welcome to the thread! You'll have the same age gap that I have with my siblings My parents got snowed in on holiday in the Highlands, got bored and then got a big shock a couple of months later! It's a great age gap, my brother and sister used to help look after me a lot and we're all very close now we're older.

sweetkitty · 18/09/2009 14:45

Cheese Doritos here, just love licking at horrid non cheese cheese flavour off them, last 3 times it was anything sour like lemon sweets, Starburst Sours and orange juice, apparently sure fire signs of girls.

If all goes to plan I will have had 4 in 5 years 9 months, 18 months between DD1 and 2 and they are so close, one of the reasons we wanted a fourth as theres then a gap of 2 1/2 years between DD2 and 3 and DD2 will go to school next year and DD3 will have no one to play with, there will be 22 months between DD3 and DB4 (DD4) fingers and everything crossed so hopefully they will be as close.

welcome Durtizfan and congratulations

I'm off for a quick liedown am feeling shattered, DD1 and 2 watching a DVD since it's quite cold here today and DD3 napping.

hophophippidtyhop · 18/09/2009 15:05

Reading all your symptons and cravings makes me feel odd one out - no sickness(yay!) and no cravings! Just a bit of a heavy feeling, though it was the same with my dd. Told my mum last night, she was very happy, telling pil's and sister at the weekend. Not telling work yet, thinking maybe in a months time. Making the most of being able to eat tomatoes at the moment, heartburn kicked in around 15 weeks. Wondering what anyone else who has had heartburn before have taken for it, last time I had the big gavisgon bottle and rennies, but I heard there's something better, any ideas?

MummytoEli · 18/09/2009 15:59

Hello everyone welcome to all the new comers
Im feeling like utter crap today but thinking it may be gastro ive picked up at the doctors as its started comming out all ends (sorry for tmi) so have been in bed most of the day and have just woken so thought id check and see what u guys are up to.. its funny i really look forward to hearing from u all hope u are all well and hugs to all that are struggling. im off to bed again as im in Australia and its 11pm here. so much love and take care xxx

DorotheaPlenticlew · 18/09/2009 16:12

ooh mummytoeli, I just got over a gastro bug -- was only 24 hours, but was grim. I hope yours passes just as fast if not faster!

Duritzfan · 18/09/2009 16:28

TwentiethCenturyHeffa thats a great story .. I hope that the age gap will be good for the children.. I had almost four years between the other two and my ds helped tremendously with the baby when she was born..
Lets hope he still feels the same now he's a teenager

MummyToEli - hope you feel better soon .. dd has come home with a tummy bug from school ..must be something going around..

Meanbeansmum · 18/09/2009 16:57

Girls I have to leave you. Scan didn't show anyrthing at all!!! Did a pg test in the epu and it was positive so now I have a pregnancy in an unknown location. They have done bloods, I need to go again in 48 hours, that will determine if I need a rescan/possible ectopic treatment or if things have remedied themselves.
I can't begin to tell you how strange itis to do a positive pg test but to be told there's nothing there.

Wishing you all a happy healthy pregnancy.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx So sorry I'm leaving. Love to you all.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/09/2009 17:02

Sorry to hear about the tummy bugs! I've got a stinking cold, feel rotten and dehydrated and fed up because there's nothing I can take apart from paracetamol. I'm drinking some hot blackcurrant squash here but it's no real substitute for a lemsip!

Welcome to the thread, Duritzfan. Congratulations on finally getting pregnant!

Oh by the way the virtuous salad cravings went out of the window earlier when I passed Greggs, and had a vegetable pasty and an iced bun. I blame you girls, you're bad influences! lol

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/09/2009 17:04

x posts meanbeansmum, so sorry to hear that. Look after yourself.

charmbutterfly · 18/09/2009 17:43

Meanbeansmum I'm so sorry

FarahS · 18/09/2009 18:09

Seems like there's been lots of sad news recently. So sorry Ja9ne and Meanbeansmum. Sending lots of hugs to you.

I've updated my age and babies number there since for some reason it wasn't there yet. Feeling same as ever.. Mostly sick but also tired. Still 3 weeks 'til the first scan and there are days when I'm panicing thinking what if there's nothing there. But hopefully everything's fine. Take care of yourselves ladies!

Meanbeansmum - so sorry to hear your news

I'm feeling a bit guilty for turning everyone onto greasy food now. I'm enjoying beans and chips atm though, yummy! Spent the afternoon at the Miniature Pony Centre with DD so was able to rest a bit while she ran around madly.

Sassles · 18/09/2009 18:49

So sorry to hear your news Meanbeansmum.

I haven't been craving anything really, but mashed potatoes and ham & pineapple pizzas are going down nicely. Bit more of food aversion then cravings for most things.

Only feeling a bit nauesous towards 6pm on way home from work when haven't eaten in a while.

Saw doc today, but clearly have no clue what I'm doing. Have to make midwife appointment and can't get first antenatal appointment till half way through week nine. I have a choice of two hospitals. Any ideas for how to get people's experiences of them? Ine is the hospital I was born in , but I don't think my mum's 30 years old advice will be relevant!

lizzie9442 · 18/09/2009 19:22

Meanbeansmum - so sorry to hear your news. Are you its just not to early for them to see anything? xx

Blimey ladies!! Ive been away for a week and theres no hope of catching up! Ive had aread but too much to remember!

Sorry to those leaving us-Fingers crossed for next time.
to hear about those having bleeding etc, must be soo worrying for you ((hugs))

Been on holiday to Great Yarmouth with DH and DD. I think DD was abit unsettled by it all and had a few off days which was stressful but fun non the less.
Bit scary looking at the photos... My bump looks huge!! Pic on my profile! Surely thats not normal!

No sickness here, I suprisingly feel fine.. Feel like a fraud here with all you suffering.
I do forget im pregnant.- Like when playing with DD in the adventure playground on holiday and climbing on the swinging tyres. Cue DH telling me off
No real cravings here either. With DD it was Pizza hut.- come to think of it we have had that twice within the past few weeks!

Oh my... How I really really wanted a 99 Ice cream whilst on holiday! Like torture walking along the seafront with every other shop with big signs up outside! Amazing how you really want what you cant have.

Heffa- You mentioned the minature pony centre.. Is that down in Devon/cornwall? I went to a minature pony down that way many years ago as a child but remember it so well.

pigleychez · 18/09/2009 21:26

HAHAHAHAHA DH has just been on the phone to his dad. Anyway put the phone down then said "love you big boobs" to me... DH likes my new ample bossom!! I just smirked and laughed. Anyway we then heard DH's dad calling down the phone as DH obviously hadnt put the phone down properly!
I wonder if FIL heard DH calling me big boobs!

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 18/09/2009 21:36

Wow Pigley, your bump is huuuge!

The Miniature Pony Centre is on Dartmoor, it's about 20 mins from us, it's great for little ones.

Ooooh, I really want Pizza Hut now!

Glad you had a good holiday, and hope your FIL didn't overhear

Gils · 18/09/2009 22:14

Hi girls, boy this page moves quickly.

So sorry to hear everyones news, hope everything works out well for you all.

It was my DD's 2nd birthday today. She isn't sleeping just now keeps getting up at 3 in morning both shattered just now. Went to a kids farm today, such a bad idea. The smells just turned my stomach. DH is great went home and slept for bit before family decended.

Away to soft play tomorrow with her friends - should be fun!!

I'm not being sick just feel sick all the time. Made DH stop for a McDonalds hamburger, instant relief! Completly of dairy and the smell of DD yoghurts just sends me over edge.

Quite a few folk know we are pregnant now. Bit angry to find out MIL has told DH aunt while they are on holiday. Didn't get a nice response to our news from them initially so she has just annoyed me more now by telling people

sweetkitty · 18/09/2009 22:21

meanbeansmum - what can I say how far on are you supposed to be?

pigley - welcome back, my bump probably is about the same as yours too, I had a cardi on today and DP came home and said "SK you cannot hide that anymore, you look so pregnant!" it's funny as with the last 2 pregnancies I had little bumps all out front, last time I think I went into maternity trousers about 25 weeks.

I am dreading when everyone finds out, my family will not be supportive apart from SIL, will probably get "not again" "you not got a telly" "but your will need a bigger car/house" "this one better be a boy" "you are mad" etc etc
