I also feel most nauseous in the evenings.

I also cannot stop burping! I never used to be able to do it and now they are getting prgressively louder, By the end I'll be able to burp the alphabet!!

I told my mum straight away and she promised not to tell, my dad however made no such promise and told everyone! He's just excited about being a grandad.

Looking forward to having tomorrow off to relax and do nowt - for the entire weekend.

memorylapse · 17/09/2009 21:32

Sweetkitty..I was loosing waistbands at 7 weeks with dd2 but because it was December..thank fully no one noticed.

I couldnt tell you if I was growing a bump just yet as I havent quite got rid of the baby weight from dd2..so theres a bit of extra padding there shall we say

littleowls · 17/09/2009 21:39

Sweetkitty and memorylapse - so this is possible to begin growing so soon. My trousers are getting a little uncomfy on my tummy. I thought I was just getting fat and it was a bit of honeymoon weight!

Hi All,

Not had a chance to post again for a few days.

Bright Red Ballon - I have been having crampy muscley aches for almost two weeks now. Def getting sharpish pulls when standing up too quickly or turning over in bed to fast. I am 7 weeks pg tomorrow.

Have been shattered most of this week, but suddenly had loads of energy today.

Quite worried people at work are guessing. Had to come up with excuse for why I'm going to the doc's tomorrow. Don't want work to know for quite a while. Think eveyone will be pleased for me, but work with lots of guys, who I think will start treating me very differently once they know.

Wee bit worried about dropping off the career radar at work and living on maternity pay. Not sure how we'll do that, but guess you just need to and this is way more important than work!

S x

MinnieMummy · 17/09/2009 22:04

Trousers definitely suddenly a bit tight this morning here too.. plus my support belt came in the post today, it might just be psychological but it feels like it makes a difference, only problem is that as it's just below the hip bones it increases my muffin top no end. So I don't so much look pg as fat(ter). Plus with it being so low it will show if I'm not wearing a long top, so I might only wear it to work and not while I'm there for the time being.

I told my first 'real' person today (no offence to you ladies!) - the GP. She was very nice, good news is in my area they now do nuchal scans for free (as long as they can get the measurement in the 15min appt - if not, tough!). So that's some money saved. Once again I am refusing to see the midwife attached to our GP surgery (she was unsympathetic and gave dangerous advice IMHO in my first pg) but I spoke to the midwife that I saw for most of my appts last time today and she's happy to see me again.

Hope everyone that's worried gets good news soon.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 17/09/2009 22:43

So have most of you got/had booking in appointments with your midwives by now? I phoned the midwife unit to ask and she said "contact us when you've missed your second period" but my cycles are really long (like 42 days) so by that point I think I'd be about 10 weeks gone.

By the way I put myself on the wrong place on the list, it's the 17th not the 15th.

HarryJoesMummy · 17/09/2009 22:52

Hi to everyone

Sorry to hear about the bleeding/spotting/cramping - I hope you all get reassuring news soon.

Mummytoeli - v pleased to hear your news!

We are planning to tell our families about the pg this weekend - we have a family birthday party on Saturday so will be good chance to tell everyone together. Then MIL is coming over for lunch on Sunday so that will be all family by end of weekend. Feel strangely nervous - almost as if I am scared they are going to be cross - don't know why, they are likely to be pleased as punch!

James - maybe by two missed periods she means wait til 8 weeks - ie 2 4 week cycles - which is the earliest my midwife will see me? I suspect the fact that some people have longer cycles won't even have occurred to them!

PS Mexican burger and lemonade on meal out tonight with work - not a good combination...

memorylapse · 17/09/2009 22:52

had to cancel my booking in appt as was too ill, so she is coming to see me at home..but it wont be until im about 10 weeks now.

suey2 · 18/09/2009 07:09

Morning all.
Am I weird to be envious of those due at the beginning of the month? Am only 5+0 today and am really envious of some of you guys!
Have had some tummy discomfort, but not pain: more like a belt slightly too tight across my middle. Anyone got the same?
I'm the same as you, ml: am a stone heavier to start this time: just couldn't be arsed when I knew I was going to try again. Last time I pit on a stone in the last 3 weeks when I went well overdue: only 2 stone before then and only 2lb in the first 20 weeks.

No food cravings, but some food aversions: I look at something and I just don't fancy it: I really don't fancy it. Anyone else? Good thing is I don't fancy chocolate, the thought makes me instantly heave.

Divvy · 18/09/2009 07:25

Suey2 That sort of pain is normal, as long as no bleeding, its just stretching Its horrid being near the end of the month, my last 2 were, and I always go 11 days over!

I may really have a May baby this time!

I am feeling so sicky and dizzy with this one, but I am also breastfeeding still, so wonder if that can affect things?

5+3

lizzie9442 · 18/09/2009 07:35

Morning everyone, Well the sickness is still really bad for me. Sorry for everyone that is having bleeding and pains. Fingers crossed for you all.

I can't beleive I'm 8 weeks today. Only about 4 weeks till I get to have my 12 week scan. I really just want to get passed the 12 week mark and have a good scan. I haven't had any bleeding yet which I normally have by this stage so that is poitive for me.

I got some really bad news yesterday, one of my really close friends had cancer and it has now spread. They have said there is nothing more they can do for her She is only 23 years old. Life is so unfair. She has just finished uni and started a really good job. Its just so cruel. I'm taking it all pretty hard and I am still in shock with the news. I just thought she would be ok.

How is everyone else this morning? xxxx

OP posts:
DorotheaPlenticlew · 18/09/2009 08:25

Lizzie, oh no. Life is so unfair sometimes. for you, and your friend. I don't know what else to say, but try not to let it overwhelm you.

Suey, I share the food aversions issue ... yesterday urgently needed a small carbohydrate boost in between sickness etc, but could not bring myself to touch the 2 available kinds of perfectly good bread in the house. Ended up eating stale cream cracker from tin instead and unwisely pairing it with some cheese which I promptly ejected later. I do feel somewhat better today from the gastro bout, but pretty shaky.

It would be nice if all the food fussiness caused me to drop some of the fatness I am still carrying from DS, however I suspect that is unlikely as when I do feel OK, I tend to want things like pizza or chow mein...

DorotheaPlenticlew · 18/09/2009 08:29

Actually, there is one bizarrely healthy craving I have, same as last time: Puffed Wheat with semi-skimmed milk. It never fails me. It is the world's plainest and most boring, polystyrene-like cereal with no flavour or interest whatsoever, yet for some reason when I'm pg I really cannot get enough of it.

Also craving fresh raspberries sometimes but they are sadly passing out of season of course so not very much help. Anyone else got cravings that are actually healthy? maybe we can tempt each other ...

LuckyC · 18/09/2009 09:21

Argento, memorylapse, spirael hope to have good news from you soon.

I am going to steer clear of the thread for a few days girls - I find I get really upset when I read something is going wrong for one of you. Bit embarrassed to admit it, hormones you know! And it's starting to make me really worry: am only 7 weeks. Ages to go.

Be back soon and want to read that all beans are beautifully sticky!

Hobnobfanatic · 18/09/2009 09:52

Almost a fortnight until my booking-in appt. I hate the first trimester - everything drags, particularly when you feel so crap.

Everything just makes me feel yucky and I have a continuous nausea. So horrible. But I'm just thankful that there's no bleeding yet. I had it at 8 weeks, last pg, so I'm going to be on tenterhooks at the end of the month...

Any other foods that people have tolerated if sick? Scrambled eggs were good a few days ago, on toast, but now the thought of them make me heave...

Good luck to everyone who is bleeding or has cramps. I'll keep checking in for any news.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 18/09/2009 10:05

So sorry to hear that Lizzie

My nausea is still getting worse day by day. I took another HPT today and the line is loads stronger than last week so that's good. I think last time I ate loads of Weetos cereal because I could tolerate it, and I figure it would be fortified. I used to eat very greasy sausage rolls for breakfast - I don't normally like them but they helped a lot. Trying to be healthier this time though!

DorotheaPlenticlew · 18/09/2009 10:07

Hobnobs?

Hobnobfanatic · 18/09/2009 10:18

DorotheaPlenticlew - that's what is soooo horrible about MS - all the usual things you derive pleasure from just make you queasy. I've been Hobnobs-free for ages! But the greasy sausage rolls that Twentiethcenturyheffs mentioned have stirred my appetite!

I ate loads of ginger biscuits yesterday - figuring that ginger would help with the sickness. Nope!

DorotheaPlenticlew · 18/09/2009 10:22

Funnily enough, the greasy sausage roll idea also appeals to me. TwentiethCenturyHeffa, we salute you. I'm thinking Greggs ...

DorotheaPlenticlew · 18/09/2009 10:29

Just thought of another reasonably healthy thing I craved last time: V8 juice. And now that I've thought of it, I really want some.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 18/09/2009 10:42

Oh, I ate ginger biscuits to help last time. Then I threw them up and haven't eaten them since.

I liked jacket potatoes for a while but I went off those as well.

Glad the greasy sausage roll idea has helped! Where I used to work had a shop opposite that sold all kind of sausage sandwiches, sausage rolls, bacon baps etc, it was v.useful. I scoffed loads of 'extremely sour chewits' and 'wham' bars last time as well which helped.

Hmm, I'm making myself hungry as well now!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/09/2009 11:13

I just fancy salads, cottage cheese, jacket potatoes, stewed apple etc - need to go shopping for some of that!

Last time I really went off coffee, this time I can't get enough (so far) I'm trying to limit myself to 3 cups a day but it's hard.

Gone off bread in a big way. I can stomach the odd slice with a meal but the thought of toast makes me queasy most of the time. Cereal too. yuck.

AnAngelWithin · 18/09/2009 12:33

blimey this thread is moving too fast for me!!! welcome to all the newbies and so sorry to hear about the losses.

well, my bleeding completely stopped by last night! I don't know what was going on there!! Maybe implantation bleeding??

I have told a couple of my closest friends (before the bleeding) so they helped me loads yesterday. I have strict instructions from them and dh to rest today! Which is good because I feel drained!!

I didn't need maternity clothes with dd2 (4th baby) til i was nearly 26 weeks! I wear a lot of leggings nowadays, so hopefully I can get away without buying too much, maybe just a pair of jeans for when its really cold.

I don't know whether to ring the docs or not. Apparently its impossible to get a midwifes appointment round here now anyway!

Lizzie thats awful. Thinking of you and your friend.
