Spirael Im so sorry to hear your news, I had very heavy bleeding with DS and was absolutly positive i was mcing but when i went in for my scan turned out he was fine bouncing around in there! this happened 3 more times and the doctor really couldnt explain why, hope u get some good news also!!

Memorylapse im glad baby is ok hopefully hey can sort everything out for you!!

still slightly bleeding here but glad that they have at least seen something hoping when i wake up tomorrow bleeding will be gone xx

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 17/09/2009 12:28

memorylapse that's good news! Hope the cervical erosion and bleeding clears up for you.

Spirael, gosh what a stressful time for you. What kind of doctors surgery doesn't do blood tests? It must be horrible feeling like you're in limbo, I really hope you get answers soon. Sorry I don't know some of the acronyms you used in your post what's an EPU?

My boobs aren't hurting anymore but last week I could have happily chopped them off. I'm back in my lovely comfy maternity bra, it really made a difference. Chuck away those underwires, girls!

Spirael · 17/09/2009 12:52

Thanks everyone, I'm really hoping that the bleeding will stop soon. My periods normally go on for a week, so if it only lasts a day or two then hopefully that means it wasn't a proper period! Still no cramps, so I'm sat here with everything crossed that the MiniSpi is ok.

EPU is Early Pregnancy Unit.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 17/09/2009 13:07

Great news Memorylapse Hope the bleeding clears up!

argento · 17/09/2009 13:08

I had a little bit of bright red spotting this morning, and then bad cramps and heavier bleeding about an hour ago

LittleOneMum · 17/09/2009 13:18

Argento - so sorry to hear that. If you read on here, you'll see lots of stories from people who bled and who have had no problem, so fingers crossed for you!

memorylapse · 17/09/2009 13:38

argento..can you get hold of your early pregnancy unit?

The EPU said Ive still got to have a dating scan which Im quite pleased about because they couldnt accurately date me..I should be 7+1 by dates and 6+6 by when I think I ovulated but she couldnt see the fetal pole well enough to measure so just got a rough measurement which came up 6+1 and I know thats not right as that would mean I have BFP at 5 days after ovulation..she has said its roughly 6-7 weeks.

argento · 17/09/2009 13:46

I wouldn't be able to see anyone til tomorrow anyway, and I'm only 4-5 weeks so not sure there's anything they could do. I'm taking the cramping and bleeding as a pretty bad sign though.

DorotheaPlenticlew · 17/09/2009 16:21

God, we're all in a bit of a state aren't we? Sending good wishes to everyone worrying about bleeds and related issues.

I am still feeling very rough but have been reassured by doc that there is no real need to worry about mild gastro bug harming the baby. Could do without this though, frankly if it's not dry heaves, it's miserable shivery dashes to the loo. Have not actually left house today worked from home, DS thankfully at nursery.

Hey ho. Hang in there everyone.

memorylapse · 17/09/2009 16:35

Dorothea..it can only get better..roll on 12 weeks!..make sure you drink lots of fluids..I had afluid and a tummy upset whilst pregnant with dd1 but she was fine and the flu was during the first 12 weeks so was a real worry

argento..even if they cant see anything..they can still check your HCG levels

my sickness is back again, throwing up..despite the cyclizine..we are off to center parcs tomorrow..think ill spend most of it in the lodge!

Spirael · 17/09/2009 16:49

They might test HCG levels... Depends how good the surgery is. The attitude I got from both the places I've visited was that the tests are expensive so therefore they don't want to do them in a situation where regardless of the outcome they won't be able to do much. It's much easier just to make the poor patient sit at home and bleed until they find out the long way.

Hopefully other people have much better doctors surgeries than mine, though. I do appear to have a particularly awful one that only grudgingly gives out appointments unless you scream emergency at them. If I wasn't planning on emigrating within the next year or two, I'd move to a different surgery!

It sounds like you're in much the same situation as me, argento. Hopefully we'll both have happy outcomes! I'm only 4+4 and I've been having heavy bleeding all day. No cramps though, but I'm not sure whether that's a good/bad/indifferent sign.

I think I might go start up a topic in Pregnancy about heavy bleeding at the start of, and see if more people can offer encouraging stories or further information. It's something to do as I sit here for the next week and cross my fingers that I'm not MCing. Feel free to come and handhold with me there!

argento · 17/09/2009 16:57

I think no cramping is definitely a positive sign Spirael. From what I've googled it sounds like bleeding OR cramping can be nothing to worry about, bleeding AND cramping isn't so good. Guess it's just a case of wait and see now though.

Meanbeansmum · 17/09/2009 17:14

I had a bit of a wobble today too. Bleeding this morning after some brown spotting. Saw my gp, I have some sort of infection and I'm now on anti b's, I have an EPU scan tomorrow. I'm nervous.

Good luck to all of the others here havibng worries, I hope all of our beans are safe and snug.xxxx

memorylapse · 17/09/2009 17:24

meanbeansmum..fingers crossed..Im sure it will be fine

sweetkitty · 17/09/2009 19:24

oh no this is such a worrying time for us all, meanbeans, argento, Spirael, memorylapse and anyone else worrying stick little beans stick

I told my friend today all she kept saying was "you are mad!" don't know how long I can hide it I really do have a bump not a too many chips flab but a high pregnancy bump, I am not even 7 weeks yet Mums of 3 or more is this normal the more you have the earlier you show? Can't remember it being like this with DD3, anyone mentions the T-word I will batter them lol

Just want it to be about 20 weeks and we are all complaining about the heartburn and being battered in the ribs!

memorylapse · 17/09/2009 20:05

Sweetkitty..I remember with dc4 (dd2) I was showing really early and had a very obvious bump and quite large bump by 14 weeks..by 20 weeks, people were asking me when I was due!

Sarahlou8 · 17/09/2009 20:24

Hello again everyone,

I've not managed to get on for a few days and now there are 28 pages!! Hope everyone is okay, especially with those who are having a few problems, I'm keeping fingers crossed for you.

Well, from having no symptoms last week, I have been suffering with 'all day nausea' since Saturday, and am having to go to bed at 9pm as its far worse at night.

I have had to either tell a few people or they have guessed as it's impossible to get through the day pretending, which is a bit earlier than I'd like. I have a steady supply of lucozade and dextrose tablets as I keep feeling dizzy.

Had first Doctors appointment today, it lasted 2 minutes - she asked me a couple of questions and referred me straight for a midwife appointment.

Have any of you started telling the 'outside world' yet?

carikube8 · 17/09/2009 20:30

I have now told my parents as DD and I are staying with them for a few days; I also told a friend I went to see today as I have now started feeling really nauseous and I needed to let her know why I was looking so dreadful (and why I needed to eat a biscuit the minute I arrived to settle my stomach).

They've all been really happy for us and also understanding of the fact that we want to avoid telling the wider world before 12 weeks. We're on holiday in NZ for the 3 weeks before we hit 12 weeks so hopefully that means noone will notice I'm pg before then! (Also with a DD of 5 months, most people don't think there's any chance of us having another one anytime soon!)

slipperthief · 17/09/2009 20:35

I'm going to add myself onto the list, see if that make's things sink in a bit. Not feeling a thing physically, so I guess all's well inside. Big hugs to all of you having a hard time though! Really hope things work out alright.

Oh, and 30 miles east of Peterborough and totaly happy with the hospital there last time.

brightredballoon · 17/09/2009 20:35

SK - this is my third pregnancy and I am showing a little already too. After DC1 I seemed to have a different shape to my stomach that is different from normal and it started poking out early with DC2 and is again now (I am 7+3). I don't know how much longer I will fit into my work clothes as I was a bit optimistic in their fit after returning to work after DC2 in February so admittedly I didn't have any room to grow into them anyway.

Sorry to read about those having spotting/cramping/waiting on blood results, we're all here to hold hands through our pregnancy journey xx

Sarahlou8 - my feeling nauseous is also worse in the evening as well.

sweetkitty · 17/09/2009 20:37

memorylapse - I am a size 8 normally with a flat (well as flat as after 3 DC can be) tummy so it is very obvious I have a bump, this warm freakish spell of weather has meant t-shirts too.

sarahlou - probably about 14 weeks or longer is I can keep it a secret that long, two close friends know one said she had guessed as I looked very tired and worn out and had that look about me

Sarahlou8 · 17/09/2009 20:40

The handful we've told so far have been really pleased but I sometimes worry that people find out in the wrong order.

I have work colleagues who have guessed already, and yet we haven't told our parents (who are useless at keeping quiet in the nicest possible way) or our children (the whole world will know then )

I am 6+3 today so thinking of telling parents next week.

I don't remember feeling so anxious about it all last time, but my youngest is 9 and eldest 11 so it all seems really new again!

Sarahlou8 · 17/09/2009 20:44

bright red balloon - it's actually taking my mind off feeling sick being on here! I couldn't move from the spot on the settee with a cosy blanket last night!

chalkeyb · 17/09/2009 20:47

Sorry to hear about those of you who are having difficulties, sending positive thoughts your way!

Also feeling more nauseous in the evenings - I get in from work and all I can do for the first hour is lay on the setee and try to keep some food down

butterscotch · 17/09/2009 21:13

Jan9ne very sorry to hear your news thinking of you
