Ahh, are you having appointments at the hospital in peterborough then? I'm going to huntingdon as its closer although i havn't had any appointments yet as only around 5 weeks i think.

chalkeyb · 16/09/2009 21:54

Will be going to Peterborough hospital, have now got my scan date through for 16th Oct - already tapping my fingers as would love to go sooner - I will be 13 weeks by then.

memorylapse · 16/09/2009 23:19

I had my dd2 at Hinchingbrooke in Huntingdon..couldnt fault the care that I got there..despite being dc4 I was still offered lots of breastfeeding support etc and they happily let me stay 2 nights..my consultant was lovely..I cant for the life of me remember her name though!

memorylapse · 16/09/2009 23:21

word of warning though..they are very strict about visiting times, and even new dads are only allowed on the ward during visiting time and are not allowed on the ante natal ward even if you are in labour..outside of visiting times

MummytoEli · 17/09/2009 07:40

brilliant mummytoeli! you must be so relieved.
fingers crossed we don't lose anyone else.

As predicted, i have not been able to keep my gob shut. But then, people have said 'i knew there was something different about you'; and a couple guessed before i'd even seen them. Sounding dead chuffed on the phone, apparently.

catching up on the biggest pile of paprework today; a good 6 inches high; plus 2 meetings but only 1 patient; phew!

Thinking of you, memorylapse. You're having a rough time of it. I hope the scan provides some reassurance.

Mummytoeli, glad to hear your news

sweetkitty · 17/09/2009 10:31

morning ladies thi thread is moving fast, welcome to all the newbies

memorylapse - hope the scan is good news for you

mummytoeli - so pleased for you

spirael and jan9ne - hugs and sympathies to you both, I believe I had a CP the start of August although I didn't even get a BFP but my period was about 9 days late and very very heavy when it came, I got a BFP 27 days later so will keep everything crossed for you too

angelwithin - to hear about your bleeding too

VivClicquot · 17/09/2009 10:34

Hello everyone x

I think I'm feeling brave enough to join the list - it's a week since I got my BFP, which in itself came just over two months after I had an MMC. I'd previously been on the Jan 2010 thread and had promised myself I wouldn't join one of these until I was at least 12 weeks!

But hey, you've got to think positive, right?!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 17/09/2009 10:37

Good luck with the scan, memorylapse. Hope it's all good news. Some women do seem to bleed throughout!

mummytoeli, that's great news, you must be very relieved!

suey, bet you're not as bad as me, I posted a big "I'm pregnant!" notice on facebook (in for a penny in for a pound, eh?) even my landlady knows. lol

Has anyone else got an almost constant sensation of gentle pressure down where the baby would be? Maybe it's all in my head but I'm always aware that somethings happening down there!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 17/09/2009 10:40

Oops, x posting again.

angelwithin, sorry to hear that, fingers crossed it's nothing.

vivcliquot (love your name!) welcome to the thread, hope you have a nice smooth uneventful pregnancy this time.

Spirael · 17/09/2009 11:13

Morning all!

Right, well... The latest update here is confusing, basically.

After my disastrous time at the NHS Walk-In Clinic yesterday, being told that I was barely even pregnant to begin with and things were better this way, I spent yesterday evening traumatised that I was MCing. DH forbade me from going into work today as it seemed likely I'd be having a bit of a rough time.

Woke up this morning and took my temperature (habit) and it hasn't dropped, which surprised me. Normally it drops right down on the first day of my period to 36.3 C, but it was still up at 36.7 C. Admittedly it could just be the stress and the hormones playing havoc though.

When I finally emerged from under the duvet, I decided to take another HPT and compare it to Tuesday, just to give me some closure that the line would presumably be fainter or non-existant. However, the one from earlier is darker than the one from Tuesday, on the same type of test. Neither were FMU. Again, could be a cruel trick of my insides, however.

The bleeding has steadily gotten heavier and I'd say has almost reached normal first day period levels of amount and consistency. However, I have zero period pains and normally I'm absolutely crippled by them. No back pain either - I feel fine. Another thing which struck me as a little unusual for someone meant to be MCing, even at the early stages.

So yeah, based on all that I decided that I damn well pay my taxes for a reason so phoned up my doctors surgery and asked for an emergency appointment. Got one, by luck, with the nicest doctor there. He actually took me seriously, listened to my whole explaination, asked more questions and took more historical dates than the doctor I saw yesterday.

He's said that there is still a good chance I'm having an early MC, but there is an equally good chance my bleeding is completely harmless and fine - especially since there's no pain involved. Unfortunately, he's said that they don't test bloods at my surgery (what?) because of the costs involved and because they're inaccurate! So there still isn't much I can do aside from sit and wait for a week or two, then take a HPT and see whether or not I'm going back to the conception boards.

However, he did tell me to go to Jimmy's A&E (not LGI) if I started having any pain or the bleeding got abnormally heavy, as that's where the EPU for the area is. Something which I didn't know, before! Also something that the doctor yesterday neglected to mention at all.

So... Yeah. Still sitting and waiting, but I guess I feel a bit more optimistic now than before. I guess I might walk up to Tesco in a bit and pick up a stock of HPT, then start taking them daily and monitoring them to see whether they're getting lighter or darker. Do you guys think that'll help? Even just my sanity, if nothing else! I am right in presuming that if I'm MCing then the line should get fainter...right?

DorotheaPlenticlew · 17/09/2009 11:19

wow, Spirael -- I am not remotely qualified to advise you but I wish you the best of luck with all this. Good thing you didn't go to work today, eh!

It's a bit mind-boggling how differently two doctors can respond to the same situation.

HK72 · 17/09/2009 11:21

Hi Lucky C, and others,

Been feeling okay-still in pain but not so much. Just feel in limbo until the scan.

So sorry to hear of the people for who it's not worked out this time- thoughts are with you all.

My husband has been great-just worried about going back to work (I've been on annual leave) and all the stress that will bring.

Hobnobfanatic · 17/09/2009 11:22

Spirael - so glad the doc has taken you seriously - and that you have some hope now. Fingers crossed that it's not an early MC. It sounds as if the HPTs will at least give you something to focus on while you're waiting.

cupcakefairy · 17/09/2009 11:25

Spirael you poor thing it sounds like torture

I wouldn't keep testing if it was me. My doctor said a line is a line is a line... it could be fainter or darker depending on all sorts of different things. Please don't torture yourself comparing lines lovely.

SO sorry for what you're going through. I had 3 weeks of hell wih my last pg- brown discharge and bleeding at 6 weeks and had 3 scans before being told at 8 weeks baby had died. It was just horrible. Keep eating chocolate and hugging your dh; it really does help. And if it does turn out to be bad news (I hope not) please do pop over and join us Emmsys girls, we are a real friendly bunch.

My nipples are absolutely killing me, had to take my bra off last night they were hurting so much

DorotheaPlenticlew · 17/09/2009 11:36

same, cupcakefairy - taking my bra off is practically the best part of my day now!

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 17/09/2009 11:44

Poor you Spirael It sounds like hell. I hope you get a straight answer sooner rather than later.

memorylapse · 17/09/2009 11:52

what a blimmin rollercoaster ride Im going through..They think Ive got a cervical erosion which keeps bleeding..they scanned me and could clearly see little bean with a good heartbeat..sonographer couldnt see any reason for the bleeding..

spirael..so sorry that you are going through the mill at the mo
