Thought I would start a new thread for may. Just got bfp and I am really excited. I think I'm due 30th April/1st May but there are so many people on April already. Heres hoping for a healthy pregnancy. I will just wait for lots more of you to join me. xxxx

Shocked at the pace of this thread! Suey2, I'm very glad you're here; lots of us are thirsty for PGP-prevention advice. What are the terms you used earlier -- bridges etc?

I had it at the end of my last pregnancy but am generally so much more out of shape now that I am concerned it will return earlier this time -- from what SK and others have said it sounds like it can be extremely debilitating.

I was wondering if any of you girls are experiencing period like pains in your tummy? I've been feeling alot of pain especially at night, makes it really hard to sleep! The pain sometimes wakes me up. I am in my 5th week now and i have my first OB visit this monday.

Any info will help!

Gosh we've all been busy

I have Thurs and Friday "off" with my DD (20 months) This morning I felt ill and very tired but had a 15 minute deep sleep at lunch (she still has a nap fortunately) and felt fine all afternoon for it.

I can feel the pregnancy hormones making me happier and calmer? I know some people go the other way. Normally I am quite hyper active (at the gym, out and about, chasing DD) and it seems to just slow me right down, and I dont mind sitting and not doing anything (not that DD allows me that!!!)

I can recommend a nap at lunch to anyone who has that opportunity.

Off to Northumberland tomorrow for a week, good luck to all.

Dorothea, it's inflammation of the sclera (white part of the eyeball), feels like I've been punched in the eye (I haven'ty of course lol). It's hereditry and I'm just prone to it (the docs say its not hormone or stress related but I know it is, they need to do more research lol!).

Isn't this a lovely happy chatty thread? And theres more people to come I should think, since theres still a few more dates in May left

I've had a rotten day today, have felt so sick and hot a have been having palpitations - I can't remember if I got palpitations this early last time - I'm sure it was towards the end of 3rd trimester!! People at work are starting to talk as well - with my frequent trips to the ladies and my afternoon swoon. I'd deny it but I'm a terrible liar so am thinking how best to actually tell my team leader now before he hears it from someone else!!

Charmbutterfly - I got period-like pains a lot at the beginning of my first pregnancy. I assume it's just the womb stretching?

Seems like a very busy thread! I'm 25 btw, and this will be my second baby. I have a 14 month old DD already.

Charmbutterfly congrats and welcome - I am also a first-timer - have had lots of nagging pain, some like cramps and some quite sharp - widwife said not to worry, it's ligaments and tendons stretching round your womb (freakish) and normal.

I am going to have a horrible weekend! Signed up to do all this volunteer work ages ago - it's very busy and social and on my feet from 7am all day - AAAARGH! - soooo tiiiiired - and as I don't know these people too well, I don't want to say anything....

going to bed now.

That is a helpful site thanks Suey, sorry we are probably going to be bombarding you with questions!! I have my appt with the GP on monday so I was thinking 'Right, I'm definitely going to ask for a physio referral' but I'm pretty sure all that would be is a 2-hr group session at the hospital where they say 'sit like this, don't sit like this' etc., all of which I knew already, and then only at the end do you get some kind of support aid, the next step for me would be crutches which would be no good with two littlies.

Right I've just bought a belt from eBay, hoping a) it makes a difference and b) no one will notice I'm wearing it for a while!

Just updating to add my age- Although I currently feel 88!

I was lurking last night but having trouble with my connection so had trouble posting. Bloody Virgin media came to replace the broken line and only did half a job not actually connecting it to the house so no phone or net. Currently using a USB thingy but its not great. Cant connect it till NEXT monday!!! Rant over!

well..Im pretty convinced that HG is creeping up on me..I feel awful..I can barely get out of bed and now have a bucket permanently in situ where ever I go..I have to go to work today and not sure how Im going to do it..if Im not actually being sick..Im dry retching

Ladies, i must leave you, I wish you all the best of luck. I miscarried yesterday, at the moment feel, ok sometimes and sad the next. I keep looking at the lovely children that i have to make me feel better. What will be will be.

Jamesandthegiantbanana..yep with the last two it was awful..was really ill with dd and spent 6 weeks in bed, with ds, was so poorly was admitted to hospital at 8 weeks..none of the anti sickness tablets they gave me worked

suppose Dh and I kind of hoped that I might not get it this time..didnt get it with my eldest

charmbutterfly and luckyc - glad to hear that other people have similar pain to me (gosh that sounds awful!!!!) i have quite bad twinge-ing and cramping. Was convinced i was going to see bright red blood it was so painful. I've had a bath and that's helped. It actually reminded me of the after-birth pains i had after delivering dd. I guess it's just the womb stretching.I'm just over 6 weeks. anyway i hope that's what it is. Feel rough today. still in bed. dh has cancelled some plans he'd made ages ago for this afternoon, bless him and has taken dd to the park for a swing and a lolly.
I hope everyone is ok despite the horrible sickness that some of you are feeling....
BTW i couldn't drink my coffee this morning - yikes! how will i get thru the day at work!!
