So sorry swallowsandamazons.

Kaylo · 12/09/2009 13:32

Swallowsandamazons

No words to offer I'm afraid - I'm just so so sorry!

((hugs))

suey2 · 12/09/2009 13:40

Minniemummy I would definitely ask for an individual session if they provide them. If not, I'd have a one off session with a private physio if you can afford it. If you can find out why it is happening to you in particular, it is easier to prevent. Everyone has different instabilities and IMO one on one is essential.

sweetkitty · 12/09/2009 14:01

swallowsandamazons - thinking of you, I know what it's like to have to leave an antenatal thread and it's crap to be blunt. Take care of yourself x

suey - I am thinking of going to see a private physio this time, don't know chiropractor/osteopath/physio what's best? The physio last time told me I was one inch up on the right and whenever she tried to correct it, it sprang back out again, right hip is the worst, then it feels like a stick is being shoved up my erm bottom and then the classis round the front pain. Also have the grinding thing at night. Mornings aren't too bad but by afternoon I am struggling, if I move it hurts more later but if I rest it seizes up, it's horrific trying to get out of bed for the toilet at night takes about 10 minutes. Am also thinking about pilates anything that strengthens the core but worried about pulling something. Sorry to go on but it does worry me a lot. The good thing is it goes as soon as the placenta is out practically, just left very stiff.

MummytoEli · 12/09/2009 14:27

Hi all just wondering if I can join, Just found out im expecting baby number 2 due on 4th May 2010!! im a little worried as should be at 6weeks + 4 day and Pregnancy test (yes ive done 5) are all definatley positive (tried different tests and tested on different days) but the lines are all quite faint?? first docs appt on Wednesday xx

suey2 · 12/09/2009 14:37

At this stage I would definitely say physio. They are much better at the muscle stuff, and analysing exactly where you go wrong. If you can correct the movement dysfunction before you have pain and the full laxity of pg, you would be much better off. I wouldn't go to thesame physio you saw last time: even later there should be some way to help.
For now, really try and follow the advice you already know, but also just try and notice if you tend to move your hips alot when walking, particulalry obvious going ip stairs IMO. Put your hands on your hips and see what happens. There should be virtually no movement ip and down. To try and stop the movment; walk slightly on the outside of your feet and brace your bum muscles to see if you fan stop the movement. Then try and do the same when walking to minimise the shear.
People who get spd have the dysfunction even without pg: the stiffnes of not being pgprotects them from pain. Sort the dysfunction, no pain. Pilates an ace idea. Make sure they know you're pg. Abdominal work good when pg: but not sit ups or anything where you hold your breath as that increase intraabdominal pressure.
This is a great test/ exercise. Lie on you back, knees bent. Lift your bum. Now, keeping a straight line between your shoulders and knees lift one foot. Put it down, then change feet. The pelvis shouldn't move. At all. Excellent exercise to do if you can correct the movment.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 12/09/2009 15:30

Wow, really? I didn't realise that! since I had my son two years ago my hips still hurt after a longish walk, after sex etc, and they often go clunk (though it's usually painless) when I turn over in bed.

I'm hoping it's just a coincidence but my hips are hurting today. I did do a bit of shuffling about on my knees picking up toys yesterday so I'm hoping it's just that. I couldn't be doing with it starting already, I'm only about 5 weeks!

Definitely going to look into getting the serola belt.

AnAngelWithin · 12/09/2009 15:36

Hello all! Can I join in please?? I did a test yesterday with a faint line, so did another one this morning with a slightly stronger line!! Been trying for 18 months. Think I will be due 16th May (according to NHS calculator!!)

MummytoEli · 12/09/2009 15:59

wow congrats AnAngelWithin thats wonderful news xx How are you feeling??

AnAngelWithin · 12/09/2009 16:02

thank you.

Very very tired and weepy!!! (I cried at something stupid yesterday, hence why I did the test!!) But then I also have 4 other children to run around after as well!!

MummytoEli · 12/09/2009 16:04

Oh wow 4 other children, Ive only got one a 14mth old and I thought that was hard enough

memorylapse · 12/09/2009 16:32

congrats anangelwithin...I have 4 too

AnAngelWithin · 12/09/2009 16:53

thank you!

i think 5 will be a bit mad, but then, so is 4!! Won't need to any more organised than i am now i don't think!!!

Kaylo · 12/09/2009 17:37

Welcome to newbie mums-to-be (again )

Wow - painless SPD, sort of! I had SPD with ds and was also told nothing to ease it until delivery, then will gradually fade. Which it did thankfully.

I have a belt to 'lift' the bump which I used last time which helped slightly during the day but obviously did not help at all at night being constantly up and down the stairs for wee wee's - just getting out of bed took ages as SweetKitty said.

Hows everyone today? xxx

Jan9ne · 12/09/2009 17:52

it looks like i am going to be leaving you. Had a scan today due to pain and some bleeding. pain caused by an ovarian cyst which in itself is quite common and not too worrying. However When the dr did the vaginal scan he could see the sac but the amniotic fluid was very hazy which suggests blood mixed in with it. too hazy to see baby let alone a heartbeat. they've done my hcg levels and i have a repeat blood test on monday but to be honest i am preparing myself for the worst. i am v upset but have to remember i have a beautiful daughter and lovely husband. all the best to all of you xxx

charmbutterfly · 12/09/2009 18:36

I am so so sorry swallowsandamazons

You're in my prayers!

charmbutterfly · 12/09/2009 18:38

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 12/09/2009 19:17

Fingers crossed for you, Jan9ne.

Kaylo · 12/09/2009 19:21

Jan9ne

It's not over til it's over.
Thinking of you
xxxx

memorylapse · 12/09/2009 19:24

..its not over yet Jan9ne..scans can be very inconclusive at this stage...keeping my fingers crossed for you

Kaylo · 12/09/2009 21:40

someone stop me!

I keep looking at baby stuff and maternity stuff.

Its
Too
Flippin
Early!

Is it too early to blame pregnancy brain? Am only in my 5th week! Theres a rollercoaster of a ride to go yet - am just hoping I don't fall off. I'm starting to feel more excited - maybe it's cos people at work and making the connection between sickness and my public want for another child. As far as I know they weren't aware of us TTC tho...

I so wish we could skip the next few weeks.

Hope you're all well - you're a quiet bunch today

HarryJoesMummy · 12/09/2009 21:53

Sorry to hear your news swallowsandamazons

Thinking of you Jan9ne - hope the next test gives you some positive news.

Tiredness has hit me today - been to town with friends and fell asleep on sofa when got home. Am off to bed now as so tired!

I am going to telephone the docs on monday to find out what the current system is for booking in - last time I just had appt with mw who took all details and booked me in for 12 week scan, but I know they have closed down health visitor service at our GPs (now have to go into town) so not sure whether mw service has been affected. Also might be different for no 2, as the might expect me to know more about the process, but tbh I can't remember anything! I can't even remember what foods I can/can't eat - I am going to have to get the old pg books out again!

Me and DH are also trying to decide when to tell family - I want to tell them straight away, but DH wants to wait til we have a few more weeks under our belt. But I know they will all be so thrilled that I just want to them to know asap, and if anything goes wrong this time (chem preg in July) then they will be there to support us. It's an ongoing discussion....

I am so so sorry swallowsandamazons kaylo - did a CBD on your advice and it came up positive which was a huge relief, so thanks!

sweetkitty - We are down to one feed a day, but she really isnt having any of it! she asks for it all the time still. Eeek! How did you go about weaning?

Thanks to all for the warm welcome.

Kaylo · 12/09/2009 23:01

Whoop Whoop!!
Glad you got the digital confirmation and relief you needed chick!!!

No idea on weaning I'm afraid -

It sounds weird but it practically was my mum and sister that weaned both my children onto solid food (slightly different I know - I only bf ds and that was only for 3mths, dd was too early). I had to return to work so I just picked up their routine - sounds lovely but I missed not doing that myself. T'will all be different this time around....(she says...knowing she has to go back to work this time too...)

sweetkitty · 12/09/2009 23:07

jan9ne - so sorry to hear your news hope a miracle happens for you

finalfurlong - her last feed was the night time feed, I used to love lying down cuddling up to her giving her that last feed, anyway one night I was out and DP put her to bed without it, next night she fell asleep before I fed her and that was it, she hasn't asked again, I so so miss it though, it's the look of sheer contentment she had when nursing {blush] must be the hormones.

anangelwithin - welcome and congrats on 5, this will be no4 for me good to have some other insane people mothers of 4 or more on here

feeling very sick and tired, I have been like it all week, just cannot be bothered, that's it just lazy and cannot be bothered.
