I can finally come out of the closet! I've been on numerous buses and was about to go down the IVF route, but I'm not pg - hooray - and have told DP today after keeping the secret for a week (he had an important interview and I didn't want to distract him!).

So, I'm 37, almost 38, with an almost 6yo dd. This baby will be DP's first. We've been trying for yonks and our EDD according to Mumsnet is 10 May, but according to the doc I saw today, 12 May!

Seeing the midwife next week.

Am soooo happy and relaxed this time round - but then have major panic attacks about the baby being healthy.

Am only five weeks, but my trousers already don't fit. Not sure I'm going to keep the pg from everyone until 12 weeeks - I'm already massive!

pigleychez · 09/09/2009 15:36

waves to all, attempting to catch up :

Sorry to hear about the bleeding. Im sure all will be fine. As SweetKitty says Its suprisingly common but unsuprisingly worrying non the less.

re Dr\Mw appointments- I had a telephone appointment with my Dr this morning who has prescribed me the liquid folic acid again. (I have issues swallowing tablets since childhood when I swallowed a 20p peice)
I still have to see her but obviously wanted to get the folic acid going ASAP.

Farrah- Glad you are feeling happier about your appointment now and things are working out re the diabetes. Im hoping my Blood sugar stays down this time and through my pregnancy with DD it was high and they suspected GD but thankfully the tests came back ok.

Minniemum- Woo hoo! Its soo strange having you and Sweetkitty here too. How odd that we are all back here again together... touch of de ja vo!
Im sure the goats thing will be fine.Like you say you didnt touch them and cleaned DS well.

Hobnob- Glad your finally preg welcome aborad. I know what you mean about seeming to show already. DH had a heart attack when he saw me in the shower last night!! I dont think i will be able to hide it to 12 weeks either.
We have a big family get together at the weekend and im starting to panic about what to wear to best hide my tummy and not arouse suspicion between all the Aunties!

Kaylo · 09/09/2009 16:22

Hi everyone - this thread is very difficult to keep up with!

Welcome to Minniemummy

Nice to see theres loads of people coming aboard this May Train I'm sure theres gonna be quite a few more in the next couple of weeks...which means I may not be the last one waiting

Ja9ne Is it possible it could be implantation? Is it a little late for that tho I don't know

Sorry this isn't more personalised - it's impossible trying to remember whats happening with everyone - I'm sorry. I'll get better at it once I know (and can remember) who's who.

Has anyone else had sharp abdomen pains? I keep getting them in the left side of my abdomen but v.low down. I'm also dog tired.
I've told one team leader at work so they know if I need extra toilet breaks as I pee loads!

Can't stay I'm afraid as I'm at work and should really get something to eat before my dinner break is over

xxx

pamelat · 09/09/2009 19:06

Hobnob - special congrats to you

My friend bled at 6 weeks (quite a lot) and she was worried. She had a scan at 8 and was told that all was well but she had bruising from implantation. I never knew implantation could cause bleeding.

I have a feeling I am having a boy. I have a DD.

I honestly do not mind what I have. If I could, perhaps I would chose a girl again but a boy would be just lovely too.

chalkeyb · 09/09/2009 19:06

Wow - things seem to change so quickly on this thread!

Has anyone been experiencing twitchy legs? It seems when I get tired - which is frequently at the moment- my legs get very fidgety.

Hope everyone is feeling as well as poss, sorry to hear about those of you who have been having some worries

I keep forgetting that people do not know.

Today on a course at work I had to keep going to wee. I jokingly said about how I obviously need to wee every half hour and then realised no one knew, oops.

Meanbeansmum · 09/09/2009 19:43

Kaylo, you won't be alone, my babies like being 'late', I cook mine well lol!

This thread is so fast, I can't keep up. Great to see so many ladies here in May though.

memorylapse · 09/09/2009 20:23

Im afraid Im going to be leaving you..my symptoms all vanished gardually over the course of the late afternoon and evening..sickness just stopped, boobs feel normal..I dont feel pregnant anymore..then about 10 mins ago..I started bleeding..DH and I are devastated and I have cried my eyes out..I will phone epu tomorrow to see if they will scan just to confirm it.

Wishing everyone else all the best for healthy, happy pregnancies

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 09/09/2009 20:57

Oh memorylapse, I'm so sorry to hear that. But it's not definite, is it? I hope you get an answer very soon.

samandsophsmam · 09/09/2009 21:10

Hi All, I am struggling to keep up with this thread!
I did yet another test today- two lines straight away- definitely time to STOP testing maybe!?!
By my dates I am due 12th May. I work as a maternity care assistant so will book through one of the lovely midwives that I work with on delivery suite! Will chose my consultant too may be!
I have two beautiful girls, DD1 Samantha and DD2 Sophie. I just know I am destined to carry girls and I would not care one ounce if I had another girl! A boy would be nice though for a bit of blue!

Hope all is well with everyone.

Hobnobfanatic · 09/09/2009 21:18

OOps, I was missed off the list. Have updated, with samandsophsmam added too (the same EDD as me!)

FarahS · 09/09/2009 21:20

Memorylapse - I really really hope it's not what you think it is.. Let's just hope the bleeding will stop and everything will be fine. I'm sending you lots of hugs!

Kaylo I had lots of sharp strong tummy pains on a week 4 if I remember the week right. It was horrible but for some reason I felt all the time like it was "good" pain and nothing dangerous even though it woke me up in the night to roll around in agony.

Jan9ne · 09/09/2009 21:30

So sorry memorylapse, such devastating news.... Will keep everything crossed for you that all is not lost. Some women do experience heavy bleeding and go on to have normal pregnancies. Lots of hugs to you...

I'm still spotting on and off. Hard for me to tell if pregnancy symptoms have vanished as i haven't had any yet apart from incredible fatigue today.

sweetkitty · 09/09/2009 22:01

memorylapse - it's not over until it's over as they say, am keeping everything crossed for you

FinalFurlong · 09/09/2009 22:07

hello, can i join please!

due 16th (ish) may. Not 100% on dates as still breastfeeding DD1 and periods all over the place. But had a faint positive test result today. yippee.
had a previous mc so rather nervous.
not feeling to rough...yet! just peeing lots.

brightredballoon · 09/09/2009 22:08

memorylapse so sorry to hear your situation, everything crossed for you sweety xx

I also find it hard to keep up with the thread! It is moving quickly, which is a good thing girls!

Kaylo, yes i am getting some sharp low down pains, I think its just stretching pains and everything adjusting to the pregnancy hormones.

Its lovely to know about pregnancy so early but it's going to be another 6 weeks until first scan, it just seems an age away!

Hope everyone is doing ok, I am off to bed.

Kaylo · 09/09/2009 22:13

Oh MemoryLapse I do hope you get good news tomorrow!! Hugs to you and your dh.

xxx

Kaylo · 09/09/2009 22:17

x-posted!

Welcome to finalfurlong

I'm glad it's not just me getting the funny tummy pains. Seems to be normal

xxx

samandsophsmam · 10/09/2009 06:48

Sorry memorylapse looks like I completely overlooked your post. Hope the news is better today.

Kaylo · 10/09/2009 08:34

Thinking of you today memorylapse
I hope the EPU has good news for you

Kaylo · 10/09/2009 09:45

Oh dear, I gave myself a panic attack this morning because I thought I might as well use up the rest of my cheapie eBay tests (and to entertain myself when I see +ve results)

Anyway - I had 3 left so I peed in a pot and dipped them in and waited. Couldn't see anything except the control line, wasn't til about3mins later when all the pink had floated across that it left a very faint line.

I'm not the most patient person in the world and dd and ds's tests the positive came up strongly and almost immediately. So am panicking again that theres not enough hormone in me.

God I need to chill out - I'm stressing myself out over some cheapy tests that are probably cheap for a reason!

Sorry for the ramble!

Hope everyone's well xxxxx especially you memorylapse xxxx

LuckyC · 10/09/2009 10:03

memorylapse thinking of you and praying EPU has good news. xxxx

motherbeyond · 10/09/2009 10:25

fingers crossed memorylapse

anyone else suffering hideous morning sickness and excessive hunger yet?
i feel like im putting weight on already cos i just need to keep eating bread to keep the sickness at bay.i started a new job yesterday (timing!)and it was awful,i nearly cried at my desk, felt so sick and tired and vulnerable!

memorylapse · 10/09/2009 11:05

Sadly epu wont see me today as they say protocol is only to scan 7 days apart..the epu nurse said that because my bleeding had stopped, had no cramps or clots, it was encouraging..but tbh..Im not convinced until I see a scan..however..feel sick again today..although I appreciate that the hormones take a while to leave the body if the pregnancy has failed
