Anyone else get really achey legs?

Ive had it now for about 4 days and its really annoying me! Feels like ive run a marathon!
My legs feel so achey and heavy.
Dont remember feeling this with DD.

The appetite thing I remember. Finding that I cant manage alot at dinner anymore and finding myself picking through out the day.. Little and often. Just have to remmeber to eat "good" snacks though!

Jenny- Glad DH is coming round to the idea

DD has her MMR injection today. I hate seeing her scream like that and with the hormones will prob be in tears myself!

katylou25 · 08/09/2009 09:36

Ohhh can I join you ladies - I just got a faint BFP this morning. AF not due for another 3 days tho so very early but just KNEW i needed to test! We've been trying for baby no 3 for over a year now so very excited. Have worked out will be due about 25th May ish...

DorotheaPlenticlew · 08/09/2009 10:19

Jennylee, that's great, you must be relieved.

Congrats to all other new arrivals -- amazing how fast the thread grows!

FarahS · 08/09/2009 12:13

I had my first midwife visit today and it was rubbish! She only filled in a form with my contact details, health problems and due date on it and said she'll fax it to the hospital and they'll send me an appointment from there. She said they normally see people on weeks 12-14 and even my condition might not get me an appointment any faster. I tried to ask if I should go and see the gp or anyone cos my blood sugar balance is really bad at the moment and she just said she'll let them know and that I can always go to an emergency gynae unit if I'm too worried.

So great.. I'm supposed to continue feeling like shit because of my blood sugar for another 5-7 weeks.

I thought the first midwife visit (especially when it's your first baby) is the one were you talk about how you feel and all sort of stuff but obviously not. :D Sorry ladies about this ranting.. Will calm down soon.. I guess I should just start living normal life (quite challenging with this nausea) again and not think about this baby stuff so much and maybe time will go a bit faster.

LuckyC · 08/09/2009 12:23

Hey FarahS She sounds pants! I am sure you know best how to manage your condition - are you going to try and see someone else?

I have mw app. today and will let you know how I get on.

Welcome new BFPs! List looks so good now.

Question - mood swings - are we talking tears and black despair at 3 am - or is that just me??? (Feel OK now but feel I should be bursting with happiness and excitement and actually am just daunted, tearful and very uncertain...) This is hormonal, right?

carikube8 · 08/09/2009 12:43

LuckyC - there hasn't been any black despair at 3am for me (too fast asleep!) but my eyes have leaked a few times over the past few days (fortunately DH remembers this from last time so knows to just give me a hug)...

pigleychez · 08/09/2009 13:59

Farah... at my first appointment with the Dr she asked if it was wanted, worked out my due date and told me to keep taking the folic acid. Plus id get an appointment for my booking in at the hospital at about 10/12 weeks.
I left feeling abit disheartened.

The "booking" appointment was the one that asked all the questions for me.

If your Blood sugar is worrying you then see the Dr.

Lucky- Hormones are great arent they! I must admit to feeling abit teary at DD screaming her head off during her injections earlier

Kaylo · 08/09/2009 14:48

Hi Everyone!

The tiredness has kicked in for me too!!

And the hormonal mood swings...my goodness!

THIS ISN'T INTENDED TO UPSET ANYONE BUT...
DH has told a few of his family now as he had to go to a family funeral yesterday - I couldn't bring myself to go as it was a baby His cousin's girlfriend was full term and the baby just died. They found out the date of theirs Nanas buriel!! I was in floods of tears! I went to the pub last night after work and everyone was congratulating me and I just felt really bad because it didn't feel like a day to celebrate at all!!!

Sorry for the ramble but my nerves about this pregnancy are tightly strung, I'm not going to settle until baby peach is in my arms and healthy!!!

hope everyone is well
TTFN

xxxxxxx

LuckyC · 08/09/2009 15:01

Thanks kaylo, pigleychez, karicube8 - ups and downs officially OK. God, mn helps.

Kaylo - what a tragedy. See, we ARE lucky. Keep the faith. xx

TheHappyCamper · 08/09/2009 16:33

Hi girls - thread is moving so fast I can hardly keep up!

all good here but v tired as dd waking in night for a feed still sometimes. Work going ok but can't be too much of a slacker as I don't want to tell them yet!

I too am trying to eat a bit healthy so don't put on as much as last time!

kaylo - that is so sad I have read a few things on MN like that and have cried . Just remember it is very unlikely to happen to you...VERY unlikely

ps. I seem to recall my 1st mw appointment last time was a bit of a let down too. I hate it when they ask if it was planned

Kaystar · 08/09/2009 17:07

So sorry to hear your news kaylo. Similar happened to a friend of mine and although it will always be in her heart, she now has a beautiful baby boy who is just adorable.

I had a group meeting booked at the midwife this afternoon with other couples to discuss early pregnancy, which sounded really good. Unfortunately... we turned up at 4.30pm, but it had started at 2.30pm and ended at 4pm But have my first midwife appointment in early October, so hopefully I'll manage to make that at the right time...

Farah I hope that the doc can help you with the blood sugar more than the midwife seemed able to.

Good to hear that your DH is coming around jennylee

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 08/09/2009 17:29

I had my GP's appointment today, I was so busy nattering about folic acid, iron etc I can't believe I forgot to ask how far along he thinks I am! What an idiot. But I did say I thought I was 4 weeks and he didn't argue, so I think I'm going to go with 4+1 until the scan says otherwise!

memorylapse · 08/09/2009 17:46

Farah..sorry your appt was disappointing..Im amazed that the midwife hasnt taken your diabetes more seriously..another thing to try is wait a few days and ring the hospital and ask to be put through to the antenatal clinic..explain the situation and you may find you get a slightly earlier appt.

well nausea has kicked in..I feel very green around the gills..but pleasently pleased too if that doesnt sound daft..off to the hospital soon for a repeat HCG

carikube8 · 08/09/2009 17:49

I saw the GP today as well who has now given me a due date of May 14th (it just keeps going backwards!). Have to wait for MW to call me though to get a booking appt sorted (though I remember that being a complete let-down last time as well as it was just form-filling).
Have actually felt really good today and quite bouncy - maybe I'm just happier now MIL has gone home

Kaylo · 08/09/2009 17:57

Is anyone else still finding it hard to believe they're actually pregnant??

I feel ill, I'm a moody git and have had to BFP's but still doesn't feel quite real!!

I never felt like this with my dd and ds - feel weird!! In a good way

I don't think I'm gonna book in with mw until I'm about 10 weeks, then I don't have to wait too long for a scan etc.

xx

chalkeyb · 08/09/2009 18:09

Hi everyone!

My nauseousness has got worse this week, particularly in the mornings, however I've still not been sick.

Tiredness at times is overwhelming but I suppose I'm just going to have to get used to it - hats off to those of you who have young children to contend with as well

I went to see my gp a week ago and they said the midwife would phone within the next couple of weeks so I keep heading straight to the answer phone when I get in from work - just in case

Hope you are all well and welcome to all the newcomers.

littleowls · 08/09/2009 18:47

Hi everyone, what a nice busy thread!

I have a midwife appointment on thursday and its for 45mins. The dr said she'd take blood etc.

I only seem to feel nauseous at night or when I'm hungry which isn't good as I want to eat! Have been eating lots of fruit to make up for it!

I'm a teacher and am finding it difficult to concentrate on anything at the moment, especially when I get in at night, I just crash!

Hope everyone else is well x

Kaylo · 08/09/2009 18:57

I'm with you on the not concentrating thing owls My husband is not amused with me right now cos he says I'm not 'with it'. tbh I just don't feel with it right now, I feel knackered and he wouldn't let me go for a nap earlier

With the nausea, I haven't actually been sick yet but have felt quite close to it. Roll on 12-14weeks so it can (hopefully) disappear!

LuckyC · 08/09/2009 19:01

Hey all. FarahS - just had appt with midwife and she was AMAZING. Totally levelled with her about feeling so bleak and she was very reassuring about the safety net if I need it. Think you should keep trying to get someone to see you about blood sugar til you find someone you trust.

ChalkeyB - many tests and the MW looking me straight in the eye and saying 'You are pregnant' but still don't really believe it!

Head is everywhere, so not keeping up with the thread so well, but hope all's well with everyone - specially you memorylapse

LuckyC · 08/09/2009 19:03

Sorry - meant Kaylo not chalkeyb about not believing it - see, head is all over the show.

PS Wonder why there are no emoticons for 'dazed and confused' or 'feeling nauseous' on MN?

Kaylo · 08/09/2009 19:05

lol luckyc those emoticons would be very appropriate!!!

pigleychez · 08/09/2009 20:15

Kaylo- So sorry to hear about that tiny baby. How sad

Kaystar- Opps at missing your appointment. I find it so interesting seeing how different parts of the country do it differently re who you see and when.

Kaylo- ME!! I still dont think its sunk in properly. Maybe cause its number 2 and you still have to get on with things!
I dont feel sick at all ( but didnt with DD either) and generally feel fine. Listening to all you with sickness makes me feel like a fraud!

Really tired though-Keep dozing off during DD's afternoon naps. Only the odd 30 mins but it all helps, escpecially when she wakes at 5.30am!

Owls- I keep forgetting what im doing and looking in the completely wrong place for something. ie Getting DD's lunch plate out I realised I was looking in the freezer!

Meanbeansmum · 08/09/2009 20:27

Pigley, my legs feel like lead and look like tree trunks pmpl!!! Mione always ache in early pg, I get cramps too at night, drives me mad!

Kaylo that is so sad. I try to live in this modern healthcare bubble but sometimes things do go wrong. I just keep praying and hoping that all will be ok for us.xxx

Hi to all the newbies, congrats on all the lovely bfp's.

Hugs to all those suffering, I was so nauseus this morning and I'm getting headaches, it must be a girl lol!

Meanbeansmum · 08/09/2009 20:28

DrunkenMistake - EDD ?

How's the mums-2-be feeling?
I'm having to wee every flippin hour, sometimes twice an hour!!

It was my dd's first day at 'big school' today, I had to fight very hard to keep the tears back when she was all dressed in her uniform, my little ds started at the nursery at dd's school as well )to make the school run easier) and he looks so handsome in his uniform, I'll get them on my profile as soon as I figure it out can

xx
