DH is pleased too, she said "phew, that's good, we know what we're doing with girls"

lastboxoftampons · 22/07/2009 14:17

Hello everyone!

Haven't had time for a proper catch up (thought I was supposed to have MORE time while on mat leave!?!? ) But just saw that congrats is in order for the Moosy clan! Another girl! Congratulations!!!

all fine here - no progress. Saw midwife on Monday - was the crazy one who gave me all the wrong forms last time. She thought he was head down but couldn't be sure, so she sent me for a scan, which meant I spent all afternoon at the hospital But I did get to see the little guy again - although at this point, there's not much to see as it's too cramped in there. But his big old head is where it should be, although not at all engaged anymore. Due date is Friday and I don't think he's going anywhere!!!! I don't feel any differently at all - no show, no more contractions - only feel slightly heavier in the bottom of bump. Went for a walk this morning, hopefully that helped a bit...

Okay, off for a catch up!

sorky · 22/07/2009 15:22

LBOT syndicate:

Saturday 1st August, 8.16 am, 7lb 9oz

Yay! for scan Moosy

sorky · 22/07/2009 15:30

She's fine Bumps. Got up at 7am this morning and fits the schedule great. How long it will last is anyone's guess though.
The gods must be smiling on me because I was starting to worry at the weekend about going back to work on lack of sleep and no BM in the freezer as she wasn't staying off me long enough.

In 3 days I've had some decent sleep and a freezer full of milk!

Maybe O's just about to turn the same corner. Is it really only 2 weeks to weaning?
She grabbed a bit of toast this morning and played with it a while before trying to suck it.
Then she swallowed some and gagged a bit before throwing up her morning feed . Not quite ready yet methinks!

bumpsnowjustplump · 22/07/2009 18:21

Hospital told me to wean him in two weeks so i will try but if it doesn't work out then I will leave it a while... He was 5 months yesterday so still have time..

OJ worked a treat thanks deige i had a huge yellow nappy this afternoon.... yay

Glad things are settling down for you Sorky and you are a week ahead of me so touch wood I will be where you are next Wednesday then!!

Right bath time here so will catch you all later....

essenceofSES · 22/07/2009 18:51

Just quickly checking in before we take our niece off to the pub for a meal!

Sleeping in cot is progressing well. Last night I started off half on our mattress and half on his cot mattress to get him to sleep but when I woke up at 1.30am, I was all on my mattress and he was asleep on his
3am he woke up though and I moved him across. Small steps though...
And hey, I said "our mattress"! DH has been back in "our bed" for 2 nights now!!

Moos - congrats on your girl
How did DD1 and DD2 take the news? Oh and DH!?

Bumps - glad he's had his poo!

LBOT - glad you're keeping busy on ML. By the end of the week we may need regular posts from you so we know what's happening!!

Kay - hope HV was helpful

Glask - hope your boys recover quickly. Let us know how they're going.

Hello Diege, IDOB, Sorky and anyone else I've missed.

Moosy · 22/07/2009 23:44

Grrrrrrrr, I'm fuming! We have a huge pile of baby stuff that circulates around my extended family (there's a lot of us) - when it was passed to me there was a lot of old junk in there left over from when I was small, so I chucked a load out and added in all the clothes that I bought for my 2. In February my cousin had a baby girl so all the stuff got passed to her, then when my brother found out his wife's expecting a boy he took on all the boy's stuff and left the girls' stuff with said cousin. I sent her an email earlier saying 'I'm having a girl, as you finish with things can you pass them back to me' and she's replied to say that she's given a lot of it to charity and some to one of her students as she's 16 and needs girl stuff. I'm so cross! It's MY stuff that I bought and LENT to her, that I WANT BACK!! She can't just give away stuff that isn't hers!! I don't mind passing it on round the family again after we've finished with it, but I REALLY don't want to have to buy it all over again!

Anyway, as you were....

Glad you're busy LBOT, agree you must check in regularly so we know you're still 'with us'!

LB, hooray for poo, and Ses, hooray for sleeping the right beds!

GYo · 23/07/2009 03:03

Hi
Sorry not posted for ages but have been lurking. Been having busy time with DD who is having an interesting grumpy/ feedy phase.

After sleeping through last week (6.45pmish to 6.15am HURRAY!!!!) things have gone awry [

Moosy- congratulations on your girl!!! your pics are great on fb

Thats really annoying about the baby stuff. Really makes you want to hestitate to share stuff about when family members do that

Wont try and do huge catch up but hi everyone. Hope you are ok LBOT and not too uncomfy..cant believe its come round to your Dedd already!

Huge wave to any fellow night feeders!

sorky · 23/07/2009 08:12

Have emailed you Moos

morning GYo

glaskham · 23/07/2009 08:44

morning- DS seems a little better than yesterday, and DH is worse today....

on the plus side only one accident from buster all night- and i didn't get up to take him out between 10pm-ish and 7.30am-ish!! he's such a clever boy!!

and DD2 is getting much more vocal!! she 'gurggles' away to herself in her cot all the tme- its lovely to hear after having a silent baby for so long!!

bumpsnowjustplump · 23/07/2009 09:09

Morning. I dont know what to do here... DS is getting so much better sleeping during the day but the nights are still a mess and seem to be getting worse. He went down at 8 last night and then fed again at 11.30 but then settled down nicely at 12.30. He woke up at 2 fed for 15 mins and came off. When I tried to move him he wiggled so much he was sick and then wouldn't settle. I was walking with him until 3.30 when he fell asleep on my shoulder. He woke again at 4 fed but wriggling again during the feed so was sick again but I did manage to settle him at 5 and he slept till dd came in at 8!!

WTF is going on, Can someone help me please [arrrrrrrrrrrr] what is with all the wriggling???????? i am starting to dread going to bed now!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of out today as i am afraid another day in the house will send me over the edge.......

GYo · 23/07/2009 10:20

Morning
Sorry for the bad night LB... wish I could offer advice but I've no idea really. Perhaps he needs a routine but I think you said you've tried that?

Hi Glask sorry your DH and DS are poorly, hope your DDs and you are ok.

Off to get the small giraffe weighed this morning. Still makes me a bit edgy after the early days issues but its good to get a record.

Hi everyone

Moosy · 23/07/2009 11:06

Sorry you had another bad night LB, I can't remember if you've tried using a dummy or not, would it be worth a(nother) try? When he's wriggling is he arching his back and pushing his head back?

Glask, glad your DS is getting better, that must be a relief for you, hopefully your DH will follow suit soon

DH has gone back to bed with a migraine today which is unlike him, he's normally the strong one while I'm being feeble!

GYo · 23/07/2009 11:38

Hi Moosy

The SG is now 13lb 5.5oz , good steady weight gain. phewy.

GYo · 23/07/2009 14:03
Kayzr · 23/07/2009 14:03

I forgot to tell you yesterday that DS2 is now 18lb 8.5oz, he has dropped to the 50th centile and is following it nicely.

GYo · 23/07/2009 14:05

ooh hi Kay!

good news on DS

DD is between 25th and 50th, after being born on 99th!!

idreamofbeanie · 23/07/2009 14:43

Hi Gyo and Kayz, great that the LOs are putting on weight nicely. 1 less thing to worry about I imagine.

BNJP - sorry for another poor night . NO advice I'm afraid but I'm thinking of you.

Glask - how are your poorly boys doing today?

Moosy - congrats on your girl but how annoying about the baby things . We've been really lucky that DB and SIL have passed on loads of clothes and stuff which has saved us a fortune and I would never just give it away until I had checked they def didn't want it back.

I'm feeling a bit achy today - my bump feels quite tight and more in the way than usual, I just can't get comfy and I feel cramped at the back of my ribs. I really want to stand with my arms over my head until it all eases out but I think I'll get some weird looks in the office if I start that . Can't wait to finish work and get home so I can have a good stretch and maybe a hot shower.

Kayzr · 23/07/2009 15:22

GYo DS2 was born on the 99th too and I was a bit worried about him dropping down them. But HV says he wasn't meant to be so big so it's ok that he has dropped down. That's the only thing that is slightly worrying me about ttc#3. I don't fancy another huge baby.

GYo · 23/07/2009 16:10

Do you think you will go for another homebirth Kay?

Since you did so well with DS2 especially!

Starshinetiger · 23/07/2009 16:16

As usual, quick post and dash - am catching up most days, just not having time to post.

Bumps - for poor nights. Nights not great hear, but odd good one thrown in now and then for good measure, but you are not alone. Last night was good - DD down by 8.45pm and then not awake til 2.20am (yay!!!) - very rare occurrence. Down again by 3am, back up at 5am, down again by 5.30am and up at 6.40am - I can cope with that. Night before, was down at 7.45pm, up at 11pm up again at 2.50am and would not settle 'til 5am when after I lay with her grunting in her cot for a while and eventually getting fractious, I picked her up and she passed out on my shoulder and woke at 7.20am - she just wanted to be wide awake in middle of night - grr! So, you have my sypathies, can't suggest anything, I'm afraid, but am thinking of you!

Moos - [grr] at clothes. That is really not on in my book. This time we are asking SIL if she wants anything back as and when DD grows out of it (we kept it all last time as she's not having any more). I couldn't help myself but say something if I were you, but am sure you're not as hotheaded more diplomatic than I am

Guess I got it wrong on syndicate again (think I said today), but no news from LBOT today, so then again, maybe I'm right?!

Just goes to show how little difference there is between centiles - DD was weighed yesterday and is 13lbs - sticking to 9th centile like glue and given she's exactly a week older than your DD GYo, there can't be that much of a difference in centiles!

Right, must dash, DD getting a bit grizzly on playgym and still got bedrooms to clean today (Mum coming to stay tonight to look after DS tomorrow while DH, DD and I go to my best friend's wedding - yay!!)

Kayzr · 23/07/2009 17:34

Definatly GYo. I can't imagine going into hospital to give birth again. I think I might get a birth pool next time round.

sorky · 23/07/2009 20:04

Wheres LBOT's syndicate? Did we do one for her?

Kayzr · 23/07/2009 21:45
