Wow IDOB, bet NCT baby makes everything feel very real - excited for you! Re: dd3's teddies, I am tempted to ram them down her throat at 3am
TINKS, so what was wrong with the jumper then?

Sun out here now after heavy rain, so will risk trip into village later on. Have just finished internet shop so feel I have really acheived something! (my first time!)
KAYZ, next sept will be here before you know it. Savour the whole preparation business if it's your last!

Kayzr · 20/08/2009 13:37

I have got that Shettles method book. So will be reading that. I'm going to have to work out temping and stuff. I'd like another boy but would really like a girl. Though there seems to be far too many girls names I love and only 2 or 3 boys names I love.

idreamofbeanie · 20/08/2009 13:38

Urgh, I can't stop sneezing, my nose is running and I have an annoying tickley throat. How irritating! For gods sake, who gets a cold in August?

tinkistheresidentshopper · 20/08/2009 13:51

GYo · 20/08/2009 18:31

Hi Everyone

Sorry I've not postted for so long.

Diege- wow what a birth story. Thank you for sharing it. The smelling J thing was moving . I can remember sniffing DD loads when she was first born before being bathed was an amazing smell

Kayz- sorry for feeling poorly and DS2 still sleeping badly.Hope it improves.

KK- I cant believe that you are so close! Do we have a syndicate ?
IDOB - same for you. Are you all set for your HB? Do we have a syndicate for you too?

Bumps- hope all is ok with you. Sorry for your rough time though.

Ses- what a fab gift!! Supposed to be lovely there. Will you take DS?

Hi Lightening, Star, Glask, Gruff, Moosy, Sorky and everyone else!

Im just back from the Reigate meet up! It was Ses, Gruff, Mr Gruff and myself, and of course O, GC and the small (but very loud!) giraffe. Was lovely to see you all. O and GC are just the most adorable boys. You'd never know that O was struggling with wt gain a couple of months ago!- he looks very healthy

Im sure SG had her eye on them!

Just waiting for DH to get home from a job interview. Hope it went ok

SG is doing well, now sleeping in her own room, starting to roll over and is occasionally sleeping 7-6 with just a dream feed.

tinkistheresidentshopper · 20/08/2009 18:42

hi gyo - meet up sounds great

idreamofbeanie · 20/08/2009 20:03

Hi Gyo, good to hear from you and it sounds as though SG is doing really well. Yes, I'm all set for my home birth but not for a few weeks yet so maybe we should just do Kooky's syndicate for now (IDOB sticks head in sand and intends to leave it there until start of maternity leave at least). I don't remember seeing one but my brain is not working at full speed - kooky?

GYo · 20/08/2009 20:06

Hi IDOB, glad you are all set

We do need one for kooky - then its you!!!

Hi Tink

bumpsnowjustplump · 20/08/2009 20:35

diege no wonder you were struggling....

Sorry I missed the meet up but will make the next one if you are meeting again...

hi everyone else... Will catch up with all your talk now..

GruffaloSoldier · 20/08/2009 20:48

Hi all!

Just getting on quickly before I settle down for my nightly read

Had a lovely afternoon today with Gyo SG, Ses and O. Mr Gruff had a lovely time too and said he enjoyed being an honorary wagoner

GC had his last jabs this morning - he has been a bit out of sorts and had to resort to calpol before bed as he was very flushed and hot and crying really hard was much better after calpol though

I will try get on properly tomorrow. Off to read my book now!

GYo · 20/08/2009 21:47

Hi Gruff- hurray for an honorary wagoner!

Hope GC settles ok during the night.

Hi Bumps. Will definately do it again. THe playground there is great, im sure your DD would love it. Maybe sept time as it was very busy with older kids today.

Kayzr · 20/08/2009 21:55

Argh!!! DS1 threw my mobile in the sink earlier. I've been drying it out and it is ruined. The screen keeps flashing and won't work. I am going to ring 3 tomorrow and hope they will fix it as I have only had it a few months. I am really annoyed as I love my phone.

GruffaloSoldier · 20/08/2009 22:52

Hi Kayz

Just saw your message and wanted to post quickly - who are you with? My sister is with Orange and when she microwaved her phone (dont ask) she rang them up and they said if she took out an insurance policy they would send her a new phone and it would just be a claim. ALternatively check your home insurance? Hope they can fix it.

Oh and if its just wet you could take battery cover off etc and put in airing cupboard and see if it dries....or maybe just see if it can be fixed

Thanks Gyo - I am just about to do the dream feed (never do it on time!)fingers crossed he goes back down!

Kayzr · 21/08/2009 06:32

Thanks Gruff,

It seems to be working now. But the screen is still a bit funny. I might ring 3 and get some insurance for it so if it does stop working I will be covered. I'm going to have to be extra careful now, usually he just tries to take pictures with it.

bumpsnowjustplump · 21/08/2009 07:58

morning all........... Guess what...................... Owen only woke twice last night (hip hip) He went down at 8 and woke at one then again at 3 both times he had massive feeds and went straight back off again......

He finally woke at six and wanted to get up so we came down and had early breakfast and now he is asleep in his bouncy chair.....

I am so pleased I feel human again........ I think I may be seeing those pearly whites at some point today because he hasn't fed that well in ages.... And hasn't been grouchy all morning either...

Would love to meet up in september but am on holiday from the 7th till the 14th.... Any other time would be great....

bumpsnowjustplump · 21/08/2009 08:33

Owen is 6 months old today... Where has all the time gone?

essenceofSES · 21/08/2009 08:48

Yay! So pleased you had a better night Bumps
Happy 6 months to Owen too!

Meet up was great yesterday. Lovely to see Gruff & GYo again and meet GC, SG and our honorary wagoner! Can't believe the last time I saw Gruff & GYo we all had bumps and now we have 3 gorgeous babies!!!
I'm away the middle of Sept so let's do another either before 7th or after 20th. How does that suit everyone else? Gruff, GYo, Star, anyone else??

After meet up yesterday I popped by mum's. She has a soft towel that we usually put on the floor for DS to kick about on. Well he only went and rolled over onto his tummy!! The first time he quickly rolled back but the second time he stayed on his tummy and got frustrated. Wonder whether he'll do it again today...

Diege · 21/08/2009 08:51

Morning! Better night with dd3, but ds's this time...wind I think, not hungry at all. I swear the 4 of them get together before bedtime and decide who's having the baton that night
That's great LB, glad you feel more human . How is the reflux problem? I know J is on the other end of the spectrum to O, but am switching formulas today to 'SMA staydown'. I know you bf, but wondered if you'd come across any reports of it in your research?
Glad phone seems to be alive KAYZ!!
Mum and dad coming over this morning, so really need to get going. Cominbg down with a cold I think - very runny nose - as I always seem to do at the end of the summer!

Diege · 21/08/2009 08:51

x-posts, morning SES!

bumpsnowjustplump · 21/08/2009 09:03

Diege We had sma staydown for dd. It is really different to make up and we found it blocked the teat to quickly. DD ended up screaming every couple of mins as she couldnt' get any milk out... We ended up only using it a couple of times then chucking it in the bin. But we may have been doing something wrong so dont take my word for it. You can only get it in tins as well no pre mixed cartons!! you can not shake it you have to mix it by rolling the bottle in your hands.... Dont be tempted to shake it either as this blocks the teat....

Owen is still sick and brings up solids now as well but it doesn't cause him any pain and isn't effecting his weight anymore so we are happy with that.

bumpsnowjustplump · 21/08/2009 09:04

The new meds have really helped him

bumpsnowjustplump · 21/08/2009 09:05

Its just a washing problem now...

Diege · 21/08/2009 09:33

Ahh thanks LB, that's really useful to know. It does look a faff to make up, but will give it a try anyway as we've bought it now. He's bringing up 1-2oz's per feed, but weight not being drastically affected, and he's not in pain (maybe a little uncomfortablke with all the hiccuping!). Same here with the washing - machine is on day and night! Great that Owen is doing better and that meds have helped

tinkistheresidentshopper · 21/08/2009 09:45

morning

haveing a relaxing day today thank god for friday

idreamofbeanie · 21/08/2009 10:21

Morning all, I need some opinions please. I am meant to be going out for dinner tonight with the other couples from our NCT class but I have a cold. I don't feel too ill to go but I'm sneezing, coughing and my nose is streaming and, as some of the ladies are really close to their due date, I'm not sure if it would be really thoughtless to go and possibly pass it on. I'd feel bad if any of them caught my cold and I'm worried some of them might be annoyed/upset with me if I turn up feeling ill (it wouldn't bother me if someone else came with a cold but I can see why people might be angry). It would be lovely to see them all again but I'm not sure it's the best idea - what do you ladies think?
