Right, off to open my parcel

essenceofSES · 19/08/2009 12:42

Wow! We've just had a package from people DH works with. They're a family company and DH has put a fair bit of work their way. Previously they've taken us to Epsom Derby and a football match so we've both got to know their whole family quite well. This package is...
...

...two nights in a master suite at The Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath with use of spa facilities and a 3 course meal one night

kookykid · 19/08/2009 13:02

Diege - doula seems very nice, albeit slightly hippy-ish, although I have no ishoo with this! She is trained in reflexology and is a hypno-birthing teacher, so that's great too. Our only worry is that her DD is due to have her 1st baby at the end of September so there may be an overlap of being on call, especially if I go very overdue again. She's got a few other doulas from the area in mind who can be back-up for me and she suggested a doula tea party so I can meet them. I don't really mind who it is as long as there is someone there for me.

Saw MW this am, who said they would not "let" me go overdue. This is something I will have to deal with if it arises! She also thinks the baby is quite small, although is not concerned. She reckons he will be smaller than DD who was 7lb 11oz. We'll have to wait and see!

Glask - I'm sorry you still have those feelings about when R was born. It probably won't help much, but the likelihood is that she was pretty much asleep for that first day. Sorry, not meaning to sound trite. The fact that you were so committed to successfully BFing is amazing. Hope you get some "closure" (hate that expression, but you know what I mean) as it clearly still effects you. Talking through the notes is probably a good starting point.

Exciting about the parcels - I love 'em! haven't had any for age though.

essenceofSES · 19/08/2009 13:12

Hi kooky! Sounds like you're just about ready
FWIW, I don't know many people who have had accurate weight predictions.
Doula sounds good. Hope there's no clash of births but chances would be pretty slim I'd have thought, although important to have a back up plan.

Kayzr · 19/08/2009 13:24

Kooky, don't take the MWs word for it on the weight front. My MW said that DS2 would be bigger than DS1 who was 7lb 2oz but no more than 8lb 7oz!!! Only just under 2lb out!!

essenceofSES · 19/08/2009 13:49

DS is crying pretty much constantly in pain again. I'm guessing it's wind he's passing wind at both ends every so often. You poor people with experience of this, have you got any suggestions?

glaskham · 19/08/2009 13:55

DD2 suffers from wind at the bottom end lots... u just end up having to ride thru it when she does have it... nothing works for her.

essenceofSES · 19/08/2009 13:58

Thanks Glask - at least I know I've not overlooked anything. He's calmed down again now and is feeding again. I've been using infacol, massaging his tummy clockwise and flexing his knees up to his chest. Just hope it passes through soon.

glaskham · 19/08/2009 14:08

i was told gripe water too- but as i dont bottle feed didn't understand how i'd mix it with a feed... and the HV told me a spoon of undiluted apple juice can sometimes help- but that is more to open the bowels- which is DD2's problem most of the time she has wind- she only goes for a no2 about twice a week.

Moosy · 19/08/2009 15:00

DD2 was often very windy, I used to give her a spoonful of gripe water after each feed which helped her burp

tinkistheresidentshopper · 19/08/2009 15:11

wow ses sounds great

Kayzr · 20/08/2009 07:44

Morning.

I have been awake since 2. Nothing to do with the boys. I just couldn't sleep. I feel awful today, got a dreadful headache and my eyes hurt. Meant to be driving today but I just can't do it, I think it would be dangerous to drive when I feel like this.

Hope everyone is well.

glaskham · 20/08/2009 08:52

Morning Kay- sorry your feeling bad, hope you've not caught SF off DH.

Tink- shame the pinafores dont fit- i currently can't find any that are small enough for DD1, have tried everywhere- though i think woolies are back in bussiness online, aswell as adams being in bussiness online- i may see if i can get any smaller than 3-4 which is all i can find anywhere.

As for us- i lost yet another lb yesterday, in the last 4 days i've now lost 4lb!! I've lost the weight of DD2 at birth in only 4 days!! I'm aiming to eventually being only 10stone.... think it'll take a while though, but if i keep a steady weight loss i should make it before next summer.

Diege · 20/08/2009 09:24

Morning! Sorry for rubbish night KAYZ and feeling poorly . Hopefully headache etc due to lack of sleep rather than SF!!!
Good going on the weight loss GLASK! Are you following any specific weight-loss programme? I've been doing slimming world since Sunday, and have managed to avoid temptation up to now. Had a rubbish night last night though, dd3 crying on and off for lost teddies (that she throws out of the bed ), so have been awake from 3.30. ds slept through it all! Today will test my sugar addiction!
Exciting day in the village...the new Aldi supermarket is opening . They have a special offer on toilets (the glamour), so we will probbaly pop along at some point today (not because of the loos!!).
Boden order arrived today TINKS!!! Ds's things anyway, and baby teddy suit is gorgeous. Are you ordering any baby bits for dd2?
Right, coffee needed!

Kayzr · 20/08/2009 09:33

Woooooooo!!!

DH has said that as our next baby will be our last I can have an IO dress or top!! I think he is trying to make me feel better about being ill.

glaskham · 20/08/2009 09:34

Diege- have just been doing 20-30mins on my wii-fit every evening!! It's fantastic!! I normally do- hula hoop x10mins, step aerobics x6mins, boxing x6mins then do a few different fun things and sometimes a bit of yoga too. Haven't really cut down on food, just stopped snacking and having crisps and chocolate. I mean i had bacon butties for lunch the other day, had a beer last night... but just doing the extra calorie burning excercises is helping burn more off- aswell as BFing still i suppose.

glaskham · 20/08/2009 09:36

Ruby is 6mths old today!!!!!

tinkistheresidentshopper · 20/08/2009 09:58

wow glas

hi

you can have the pinafores would be perfect
one is age 2-3 years the other is age 3 years both tiny also have a grey cardi which is age 2-3 years

Diege · 20/08/2009 10:10

Happy half-birthday Ruby!! Wii exercise sounds the way to go, esp as it means you can still have treats etc . I have the davina dvd out on the shelf, but have no chance of getting it on until dds are back at school/nursery. Have to say I don;t stop all day looking after them all, so hopefully doing some good!
KAYZ, excellent on IO dress! Do you think you'll be choosing from the summer or winter collections?? (translate - can we expect a honk soon??)

glaskham · 20/08/2009 10:10

that would be ideal tink- thanks- I'll send you a message on FB to get your paypal address to give you some pennies...

idreamofbeanie · 20/08/2009 10:16

Kayz - sorry you are feeling rubbish but hooray for IO dress. Get it in writing now!

Glask - great going with the weight loss, I'm passing all these stories on to DP as he still hasn't agreed to buy me one (but I won't give in until he does ).

Sorry for bad night Diege, are you tempted to just velcro the teddies to her PJs? Or maybe a big net around her bed .

Well we have had our first NCT baby born which is very exciting . She was only 37 weeks pregnant which is only 2.5 weeks away for me! Mum and baby are both very well and happy to be home - he was 7lb 3 so a good weight. I can't wait to see him.

glaskham · 20/08/2009 10:20

Yeah- i'm really enjoying seeing the weight drop every day- DH has only lost 1lb in the same time as me- granted he doesn't need to loose any weight- but he wants to as he's put a stone or so on since we've been together. I hopefully want to be 10stone, which i wasn't even that small when we got together- then once i'm smaller i will start jogging (wont be embarressed by wobbly flab then).... so the way we're going i may have lost my 4 stone in the time he's lost is 1... as he's currently only loosing 1/4 of the weight i am!! wuhoo!!

glaskham · 20/08/2009 10:36

IDOB- not far for you to go now eh!! must be exciting knowing someone so close in EDD to you has given birth!!- as for the wii- we never got it intending for it to be a weight loss aid- but thats its main use so far!!

Kayzr · 20/08/2009 10:48

I love our Wii!! Wii fit is so much fun as well as helping to lose weight.

Diege no honk from me until at least next September at the earlist I think.

tinkistheresidentshopper · 20/08/2009 12:23
